This 2016 Artsy Short Film Is a Subway Ad in Disguise | Eater

"Shared to American Twitter in 2019 after originally airing in Brazil in 2016 and produced by Stink, the commercial “Timeline” traces a male protagonist from a water birth through awkward childhood moments (including voyeuristic peeping at a woman who appears to be his mother), a teenage first kiss and breakup, a self-inflicted haircut meltdown, globe-trotting scenes that use rural Chinese farmers as background, and eventually domestic life that includes a scene inside one of the chain’s restaurants. Aiming for a Linklater-esque life-passage arc and capped by the voiceover “Every day, life asks you the same question... What are you going to try today?,” the spot landed for many viewers as strange, unintentionally creepy, and tone-deaf — prompting shock, bemusement, and online mockery (including jokes about the lead actor’s appearance and criticism of the ad’s use of cultural imagery) rather than the heartfelt resonance likely intended." - Madeleine Davies

I don’t usually write reviews, but I was in the Subway for an hour or so and PJ is an incredible worker! She was so professional and friendly with everyone who walked through the door. The service was impeccable, and the food was good. You’ve got a great worker in PJ!

Jasmine was extremely rude. She acted like she was mad and annoyed we were there. Not friendly at all, and acted very condescending and hateful. Will not be going back. Also, 1 sandwhich was burnt, other was a little too crispy.

Only complaint I have, is every time we go through the drive through, they only wait on one car and once that one car received their food, then they will proceed to take your order. The wait is horrible.

ordered a 6 inch cold cut sub on cheese bread and toasted with heavy mayo,tomato,onion sauce. the bread was the size of a hotdog bun literally,burnt,with 2 fifty cent size pieces of tomato,no mayo,no lettuce,2 small half slices of bologna,no cheese.And whoever the gm is he was not in any way willing to make it right.not worth the money

I went to this Subway drive-thru last evening. I ordered two sandwiches, one being a turkey & salami on 6" white, heated. I told my daughter to check the sandwich before we drove off to make sure it was made correctly. We'll, thankfully we checked, because there was no salami on it. I told the cashier. She told the young man (standing next to her) to grab the sandwich thru the window, and put salami on it. I heard the young man tell her, "I was just going to make another sandwich." (for me). The cashier told him to just put some salami on the sandwich. So, the sandwich ended up with cold salami on it, although it was originally heated. Also, I didn't think the sandwich was supposed to be passed through the drive-thru window like that (due to health reasons)?? I give the young man props for wanting to make us a new sandwich, but the cashier a BIG FAT 0!

On 10/15/2024, I was at Brazil location around d 7:59 pm. I had ordered two foot longs. I had asked for extra meat on one of the food longs. The girl that was making my sandwiches just looked at me like I was stupid. I didn't get the extra meat on it like i had asked for. And yes, I am aware I'd be charged for the extra, and that was fine. And on my other footlong, I had asked for extra sweet onion Sauce, and she told me she was not allowed to add extra sauce to the sandwich. I asked again and was still told no. I told her I would pay for the extra, and she told me no. She began to close up my sandwich, and I stopped her and asked her why she didn't even put any sauce on it. She replied and she said that she are ready did when she put the chicken on my sandwich. So, at this point, I am like ok but what if I would have wanted ranch and not sweet onion on it. I paid for my food. I had asked her what her name was since she had a name tag on but no name. She told me she would not give me her name. If she was not in the wrong, she would have given me her name. I told her that I did not need her name. She had black hair and she had on glasses. I'm pretty sure Subway in brazil will know who she is without her name. I would like to know why on the website it says sandwich made the way you want, but then you get a rude employee who does not want to make your food the way you ask for it. And BTW, my sandwich was horrible without the sweet onion sauce that I asked for. It tasted like it had none on it. Just chicken and cheese and my toppings. I do not ever plain on going back to that restaurant in Brazil. I have been going to Brazil location for years, and I have never had a problem and always order the same thing each time.

This place is awful! I tried to use the app which had a coupon and when I clicked on it, it just buffered and would not accept it. I called expecting them to honor it and they said they would not because there is no way they can do it because there was no manager there. What kind of place does not have a manager working absolutely ridiculous. This place should be shut down. Maybe if someone drives through the front of the store again it will be.

Sandwiches are never right, was told they were cash only and then laughed when I decided to leave instead. They are always very rude here. Tables are always dirty and drink station is filled with sticky liquid.

Subway is WAY overpriced for what you get. $20 for two sandwich combos? And then when we get our food, it's never correct. I try to use the app so that the order comes in and they can make it without me trying to list everything through the intercom. Our last visit (about a month ago), they gave us a 6" when it was supposed to be a foot long. When we asked for the other 6", they wanted to know what sandwich. We told them and they STILL got it wrong. A sandwich that was supposed to be a chicken bacon ranch ended up being bacon sandwich with no toppings. The foot long that they gave us had meat on the wrong bread with NO dressing or veggies. On top of that, they forgot our cookies. So when we asked for our cookies I definitely said we ordered 4 instead of the 2 we actually ordered. Pay attention.

I am not a fan of Subway. It just seems that their sandwich's have very little meat and their quality is low and the prices are high for what you get. The service is ok and its clean but this restaurant is just not my style.

The employees here were displeased about customers walking in the door and pulling up into the drive thru, exclaiming "oh my God" "I'm going to freak out"- and slamming things. They made my order and my husbands order incorrectly, and still charged us the same as if it were correct. They also had a provocative rap music radio station playing. I was thoroughly annoyed. Every time I come here, it's the last time...

Standard Subway. I've made two stops here. No issue with the food, but both times I've used the drive-up and the service has been really slow. The second trip our order was wrong.

went in there tues oct 3rd about 2 o'clock.....Went into subway and I was absolutely mortified at the filth. Is it too much to ask for a food establishment to be clean? the glass over the food looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks ,there was flies all over the meat, stuff slopped and spilled everywhere ,the floors were nasty and if the front of the house looked this way I am sure I would be horrified at the back of the house. They were not busy and the kicker is you have employees just standing around doing nothing! You take your life in your hands when eating out today , I think its time food establishments be held to a higher standard but all I can surmise is that people just dont give a damn what kind of garbage they eat nowadays or it would have never come to this. I am completely appalled!!!! This was the subway in Brazil.
