Terrible service. I ordered ahead and my order wasnt ready so I had to wait. I ordered the salad and they gave me the order in a protein bowl which is much smaller, and the worker didn't even fill it to the top, I had to ask him to please add more. No croutons, no crackers, no utensils. The guy seemed very confused when I asked for croutons or crackers, which they always give at every other subway. Not ordering in this location again.

This store takes advantage of people!!! They up charge almost double for food in the late hours of night/early morning! $20 for just a footlong with almost nothing on it is insane, do not go here!!

Costumer service was excellent Pinky made my subway sandwich, shop was very clean and vegetables were fresh. Bread was also nice and soft fresh. Problem was finding parking the 🚗.

Came in from out of town and came to this subway of all of them in the city to order food but needed to use the bathroom they grilled me so hard about ordering food and that’s why I came there lost a customer just off that

I accidentally ordered to this location and tried calling to get it canceled. Took me 4 times to get someone on the phone. Then while explaining my issue and the help I needed the guy hung up on me. I went online to get assistance the store manager or owner responded and gave me some weak scripted response. No help with cancellation and a refund. They literally stole my money and disrespected me. I don’t mind immigrants being in my country working and being helpful plus grateful. But to be thieves and mean is totally unacceptable. There are always getting complaints and the reviews are terrible which makes sense. Please don’t go to this location!!

They charged me for extra meat and extra toppings even though I didn't ask I order 2 foot longs it came to almost $40

The infamous Subway. "DC sandwich guy" purchased his sub here right before the threw it a an member of trumps gastapo that was unnecessarily deployed to terrorized DC residents.

Very hostile atmosphere when me and my friend went to order food. Politely asked for a sub but didn't ask me what bread, what toppings, what sauce. Just gave me a dry sandwich and expected me to pay 18$. Employee was very rude and homophobic to my friend and threatened to kick us out when I just asked for him to remake the sandwich on a different bread (since he didn't ask me which one I wanted) so I could also have some toppings too. At the end of the day to avoid a confrontation I just took the sandwich but it was dry just like the forehead of the Employee raising his voice at me. Highly recommend if you want something to eat late at night go to the McDonald's across the street. Least there they won't get your order wrong or treat you like some criminal. Not to mention i ordered a meatball marinara that at most should've been 12$. He overcharged for sure which is why he didn't want to give a receipt. When asked he kept harassing me saying I put the receipt in the bag but I was looking exactly at him handing me that dry sandwich like sir please don't lie. Don't worry I'll get my bank involved.

Came to DC for a show and got out extremely late. The group was starving but not being familiar with the city.we didn't know where to go or what was open. We were extremely happy when we walked a block and saw the familiar yellow and green sign. We became even happier when we saw the blinking 24 seven sign. There was no line and the service was wonderful. They were friendly and even gave us the extra cookies in the box because they just had made a first batch.

OK, so I'm not sure what the deal is with this employee but I'm assuming he doesn't open doors for Black people early morning even though it's a 24 hours establishment I was very confused so here I was walking and I saw the 24 hour sign so I decided to go get Subway because I didn't want McDonald's across the street. as I'm approaching the door, I see the employees sitting down on his phone, so I politely tapped on the window to get his attention, giving him the signal asking him if they were open or close, the man walked all the way to the door with a smirk on his face look me up and down and shook his head and Said No we're close. but I know that wasn't true because I was just there a few days prior around the same time with a different employee. I went across the street to the bus stop to sit and watch to see if someone else will try to stop by Subway. Of course some white people did and he let them in with no problem. I'm assuming he came to the window to judge me to see if I was a criminal or not using poor judgement. He's very judgmental and refuses to open the door,l for black people denying customers. paying customers. Beware of this guy that was so not cool What he did to me. And I will be writing a letter to corporate after this.

They add unsolicited meat and charge extra if they notice you've left a nearby bar or club! They should be monitored and banned! Absurd! Stay away from this place! Next time I'll record and call the cops!

An efficient, convenient and highly trafficked Subway location, I can always count on this Subway to make my sandwich correctly and with a smile and recommend this because of the cleanliness, walkability, and friendliness that I have personally encountered here.  Pros:  Accuracy: This Subway location features attentive employees who will make your sandwich correctly down to every detail. They seem well-trained, and put appropriate amounts of ingredients on the sandwich, never leaving you to want more cheese or ask for less lettuce or dressing.  Location: The location of this Subway is really great-- right off of the nightlife on 14th street, this is close to Howard, Logan Circle, and Admo-- making this the perfect place to grab a sandwich between classes, on a walk home from work, or after a night at the bars.  Efficiency: Though an incredibly busy and walked through area, I have never had to wait more than a few minutes to get service at this location. The staff know how to keep the line moving, and are able to manage large groups of customers well.  Friendliness: Staff is friendly and will ask questions to ensure that they heard you correctly and are making your order to satisfaction. Overall a friendly group.  Good beverage selection: This subway features a section of drinks near the check-out area. I was especially happy that they had some fruit juice boxes in addition to a wide-selection of sodas and other drinks.  No cons to speak of-- a solid Subway location that delivers a good experience! I recommend this location to anyone looking for a good sub in the U Street/14th street area.

These guys CHARGED EXTRA for meat that I never ordered (ham). They take advantage of people who are ordering a bit intoxicated. They are trying to make a DIRECT PROFIT. They ended up re-ringing me up for $1 less than I was charged because I confronted them. Shady as hell. Do not come here

The employees here have very thick accents, which I don't mind at all, but a customer behind me couldn't understand him and asked him to repeat himself once or twice, and he was very rude and impatient and even yelled at her for not understanding him. Very hostile environment.

Those fuckers charge us for double meat when we never asked for it but because they had the cops outside of the store, they threaten you to call them if you complain about anything in the store, so I will never come back to the fucking place ., I will not recommend this place to anyone.

The worst service you could ever imagine in a subway. No cups for water available. And they refuse to let you order a 6-inch!! Unreal. They will only allow you to order a foot long.

The bread here was super fresh, I was scrolling on yelp and saw some bad reviews for this business and the employees here treated me very kindly so I REALLY appreciate everybody here. Look how fresh my bread is.

Horrendous experience! I came here hoping to receive proper nourishment while joying my bar crawl on U street. However, the staff greeted me with attitude, lies, and deceit. Instead of receiving an incredible deal, I was tricked into purchasing a sandwich with random upgrades that weren't clearly detailed on the receipt. The workers are crooks!

Do not come here. The cashier will overcharge you and rip you off. My friend ordered a cookie for $0.65 and was charged $3.00 by a cashier named Thudani. When we told him about the mistake, he pretended not to understand us. This is unacceptable behavior and we will no longer be eating here. Go to jimmy john's across the street.

the attention was terrible, they discriminated against me for being gay with my partner, the person treated me super badly and apart from two sandwiches they charged me 70 dollars!

BEWARE/AVOID: The guy tried to overcharge me and someone else wroate a review saying it. Guy tried to charge me for a small cup of water from the machine. Which is free at other places. For water from the machine NOT bottled water. So I said no water. Them he tried to overcharge me for the Pizza.

This is the very first 24 hour location that I have ever been to, and to me it seemed like a decent place to get a sub. I came at around noon, and there were only a few patrons inside. I ordered the same thing that I usually order, which was the 6 inch meatball with mariners sauce sub. The guy behind the counter was friendly and patent with everyone. They had all of the right toppings. I asked for lettuce, provolone cheese, green peppers and black olives of course. It took him less than 2 minutes to prepare the sandwich and ring me up. I ordered this to go because of the fact that I wasn't parked very well outside. Parking is definitely a challenge in this area. I ate the sub in the car on my way to Virginia and it tasted good. I'm not sure how often I will be back in this neighborhood, but perhaps I might stop by for a late night bite to eat!

The food is ok However the guy keeps over charges my son First time it was ok Maybe i gave my son The wrong amount But today When we ordered I gave my son 40$ We got One steak and cheese footlong On wheat With a soda And Chips And A footlong egg and cheese on wheat.... I got back 11$ and some change There is no way in hell two subs and a medium soda and chip cost $28 something .... and when my son asked for a receipt and the guy said the machine was broken ....... we arent going back to this one I cant afford to keep paying that much.....karma will get him if he keeps screwing over people like that

I've had several negative experiences at this Subway. The staff tends to be very rude and lacking when it comes to common courtesy/manners. As an example, one time I walked in and was the only person in the store (a bell went off so they knew I was inside). Two of them were in the back room talking/probably doing some cleaning and literally just kept doing their own thing while I was in line. One of them even glanced over at me at one point so I knew they had seen me. After standing there (probably looking like an idiot) for two minutes, I decided to leave as it was clear they didn't care about helping me out. And there have been other situations like this where instead of immediately helping me (as they should!) they continue to wipe down tables, etc. for 30 seconds to a minute before finally acknowledging my existence... In addition to the above, I also had an experience recently where I ordered two cookies as part of their meal combo. The gentlemen at the register was talking to a friend joking around during this. This would normally not be an issue obviously, but while they were talking the Subway employee literally grabbed the tongs for taking cookies, slapped his friend with them, and then IMMEDIATELY after reached in and grabbed the cookies for me with the dirty tongs. Like seriously guys?! This is also ironic as they are apparently super obsessed with cleanliness based on how often they are wiping things down. Needless to say, if it weren't for this Subways optimal location (which is why I go back from time to time), they would be out of business within weeks.

This place does NOT accept Subway coupons that are accepted at every other Metropolitan DC Subway restaurant. I wanted to surprise the man with a free late-night dinner by using the Buy 1 6-inch sun and drink/get one free coupon and I was denied. They should post a notice on the door about their policy. I don't understand why they want to say no. The corporate accounts payable offers complete reimbursement to all the franchisees.

How do you differentiate locations of a chain restaurant? Food is expected to be consistent, but cleanliness, efficiency, hence service can vary greatly. You're all familiar with Subway food, so this review only refers to the employees. Walking near this Subway we encountered a thin, elderly homeless man who asked us for a quarter. We refused and instead offered to buy him lunch at Subway. We received some quizzical, concerned looks when we brought Brian inside, but I'd like to think that quickly changed to compassion when employees realized what was happening. The young man making Brian's sandwich was patient, since Brian didn't really understand what he was supposed to do (ie, choose his own bread, meat, veggies, etc.) He treated this unkempt homeless man with respect, which I am sure was more appreciated than the sandwich itself. I think the manager may have been concerned at first that we weren't going to pay, but once we did, he might have slipped Brian a few extra chunks of chicken. We sat with Brian inside Subway for a few minutes after he received his food, but then we had to leave to get to our destination. I can only hope the compassion for Brian continued after we left--he was a paying customer after all! If I find out otherwise, I will certainly update this review. But if they DID treat Brian with respect, even after we left, I will patronize this business again to thank them for their hospitality.

This place is very derogatory towards women and the we're charging me for extra items that were not on my meal. Take your business elsewhere.

If I could give 0 stars I would i went here and got 2 sandwich combos (7.70 a piece ), 3 drinks (2.50) a piece and this idiot charged me 35 fucking dollars and refused to give me a receipt. He refused to give me my correct total and stole from me. I WILL NEVER BE EATING AT SUBWAY AGAIN AND I WANT MY MF MONEY BACK. This is ridiculous I'm reporting this store to corporate. Everyone was unprofessional and I'm highly disappointed. If this is what subway is like they should be closed.

I saw a roach and when I told the staff, they were very rude. They not only denied the allegations, they also started yelling at me after I refused to pay for my sandwich which was not even fully made!! Please save the time and do NOT eat here!!!!

I walked in here to get a seafood sensation sandwich i was craving! Getting straight to the point!! As i was coming in I see one of the workers scurry to his seat and sit and just look at me up and down with his eyes bulging out his head he did not greet me say hello or anything! I was the only one in the store at 6:25 this morning 12-26-2019 He had food in front of him at the table, i then asked him will he take my order, he then says "no im eating." He yelled to the back, im assuming ( in his language) another man comes out a door behind he says "Yes maam? "I then said yes what whose going to take my order? and then they both proceed to have a 5 minute conversation amongst themselves NOT YET ATTEMPTING TO GO TO THE COUNTER SANDWICH BAR) but still talking ! I then leave out by then my patience was gone! I took this pic right here did not the 2 men however! I have never felt so discriminated against and slighted as if they didnt want my service! 2001 14th street dc location.

Not sure why Yelp shows this location as closed down. I was just in there yesterday. Anyway, this place is a grimy as the corner it sits on and that's not even telling half the story. Cashiers show little tolerance or courtesy to customers, particularly those of color. Granted, some of them are loiters and homeless persons who frequent the corner area and shuffle into the restaurant halfdrunk from the liquorstore a few doors down but money is money. The food is typical Subway fanfare and while I'm not a big fan of the sandwiches here it's sufficient enough to buffer your stomach up before a night of voluminous consumption. Otherwise this place and the crooks who manage it can burn down for all I care.

They don't even have the AC on. I wonder if any of the food goes wasted because of that. It is super hot outside and they have only ceiling fans on. I don't recommend this place at all.

This has to be the worst Subway I've ever been to. The staff was rude to customers and they didn't understand what I wanted for my sandwich. And just a few minutes ago, they were fighting with a black dude who asked to go to the bathroom and the employee started fighting with him over it. It was so bad I'm not coming back to this location.
