The happiest bookstore! We love to visit and pick out our favorites as a family! I especially love how friendly and kind the gal who owns the bookstore is! We always stop here when we are nearby! Thanks for helping my sweeties with their love of books!

Quaint little book store, they do have a variety of books. The adult section of books is at the front close to the cashier, and young adults/kiddos are mid section and back of the shop.

Adorable book shop within the Ecclesia market selling both used and new books. Lots of variety and very well organized! I found a ton of my favorite books used and a few others. Would definitely love to come back!

I’m super happy to have found out about this little gem of a bookstore in Castle Rock. It’s cozy and quaint, but still had a great selection of books. The staff was friendly and helpful and I will definitely be back again.

As if I couldn’t love this cute, quaint bookstore enough, the people here are so friendly and helpful! They always have the best bookish goodies, and their book release parties are second to none. If they don’t have a book you’re looking for, they’re more than happy to order it for you. Every visit is a wonderful experience, and I always leave with something new and exciting to read. I was looking for an independent bookstore while down in. Castle Rock and stumbled upon this gem. It’s located on the main floor of the building inside (a bit confusing walking into this multi store setup). Books ranged from new and used and were well organized. The woman at the front desk was very helpful and allowed me to purchase a used book she hadn’t put out on the shelf yet that I had my eye on. Prices were reasonable and I enjoyed browsing the selection. Go check them out!

Excellent selection and a very cozy store. Thanks to staff picks of fantasy novels I have rekindled my love for reading as an adult. I wish I knew the staff members whose choices helped me find it again. She has excellent taste. (Legends and lattes, as well as "Godkiller" by Hannah Kaner) and supporting this local business is always a pleasure!

Such a cute bookstore in downtown Castle Rock! They have a great selection of books in every genre. The service was especially amazing! The woman working was so kind and friendly. They do fun events for popular book releases, so if you're a local reader make sure you keep an eye out for release parties! Finally, if you're looking for good books with a good price then make sure you checkout their used book table. The books are all in good condition but for a good price!

This will teach me from ordering off Amazon The employees at sudden fiction are absolute sweethearts. I received a bent LIMITED EDITION from Amazon that they wouldn't replace... sudden fiction had one more copy that they held for me and It's perfect. I realize this is a manufacturer error but these guys went above and beyond for me in terms of service itself! (Top is Amazon, below is suddens!)

Sudden Fiction is a small bookstore with a great selection. It's very easy to order books on their website for delivery or in-store pickup.

I love this place. Hidden gem for sure. I am so glad I stumbled on this place. The associate was friendly and helpful. Not judgmental as we were browsing then. So many books I wanted to buy but no budget for it right now. Gift ideas bounced in my mind. They have local artists' works for sale too which is great. Used books and discounted new books. Children's books and classics are among the selections. I could get lost here for hours. We will be back. Street parking.

A lot smaller then the used bookstore I was used to back home. They seemed to have a variety of genres & titles to choose from despite the small space. My husband & I just quickly popped in to check out the space so I'd have to go back to see how I felt about being able to make this my go to bookstore. Some things I look for in a recycled bookstore are the ratio of popular titles or their stock of new vs. old books. How great is their trade in policy? If I'm looking for a specific book, that usually has to be an Amazon purchase but otherwise if I'm in the market for anything that catches my eye, these places are my go-to spot. I love the downtown Castle Rock location & the employee seemed friendly & helpful so I'll definitely give it a shot when I'm in need of new books.

Lovely independent bookstore in a huge building with other businesses. The bookstore is located at the top left when you enter the doors. They have a good selection of books ranging from fiction to children's board books. It looks like they also buy used books. And they have a sign to temper your expectations as to how much your books may be worth. Point is, your used books are probably not worth that much. If you're in the area definitely check them out.

Super cute book store in Castle Rock. Love that they sell new and used books in all genres for book lovers of all ages. Their prices are great and reasonable, the owners are very friendly and knowledgeable. There's also a cute little coffee bar area and plenty of seating. And they also host fun little events a few times a year! It's great to see small local bookstores doing so well.

Very friendly shop owner, a nice selection for a smaller shop, good local place to buy used books. In a somewhat confusing spot but once you read the signs it's fine. Would recommend If you're in the area checking it out.

Their new larger store with more inventory and the addition of beer on tap and the coolest pour over coffee contraptions is fantastic. Unsure of the review regarding only fantasy in their old store. Fantasy is the first bookshelf by the door they have a section for every genre. The person clearly didn't walk in. Local support apparently has given this little gem the opportunity to move into a larger location! Gina an owner is always great to chat with on my Saturday visits and always has great book suggestions.

Though tiny, treasures abound in this quaint bookstore. The owner's passion is evident in the hand selected new and used books that line the shelves. Staff is knowledgeable and quick to make recommendations so that you're sure to find a read you just can't put down. Books for children and adults are plentiful, and prices are incredibly fair. While the ease of e-readers and ordering on amazon can't be denied, this place will remind you of the tactile joys of exploring shelves for your next reading adventure, of holding a real book, getting lost in the pages. If you're a bibliophile, treat yourself to a visit to Sudden Fiction and investing some time in old school literary love.

Finally... a used and new bookshop in Castle Rock! The people I'veet here are lovely and helpful. The book selection is great! I wish it were a bigger space, but I'll take what I can get in this town. I was so excited when this place opened. The problem is; even when they are supposed to be open, they are usually closed. What's the problem?! Today it was our first snow of the season... not too much, a little cold. They're closed. Really disappointing.

Awesome quaint bookstore with such a huge variety. They take in books as well if you donate to the shop - however I will warn that you won't get much store credit or so for donating... was a bit disappointed after donating 20+ books just to have $3 in store credit when those books cost me a lot in general. Overall local great book store in town! They even have a coffee shop in the back. Staff is super friendly & helpful, definitely check them out!

My family and I love this bookstore. It has the best selection of books but more importantly helpful and friendly staff! Perfect location for a weekend stroll in downtown Castle Rock .

This bookstore is a hidden gem and REALLY makes me wish we lived a lot closer, because I'd definitely be making more frequent visits. The selections are great, good prices, friendly service, fun events, and even a little walker for my child to use while in the store. All in all, 5 stars! Please support this local business.

I love this place. It's a cozy bookstore in a a great building. There's some new and used books there. Also a little coffee stand. They have chairs and stools to preview the books before you buy. Some books are a cheap as a dollar. Will come back again.

Love this bookstore and the fantastic friendly owners! My first time here and we found lots of great books. The calm and relaxing environment is worth a visit and a great place to support if you are a book lover!

I came in here and was excited to get my hands on some new books as the ones I had been reading, I finished. When I walked in I just realized how small it was. All the books that where there when I was there seemed to be young adult. Everything www fantasy with a few exceptions of classics. Should be called Sudden Fantasy Books.

Love the staff! It is a beautiful store with an excellent selection. We are big fans of sudden fiction and it is exactly what castle rock needed. Great local business. The staff is very helpful and give great recommendations. Everything is responsibly priced. Great place!

Bought a nice used book here and was very surprised at the selection of historical non-fiction and best selling novels. A great local book store that is quaint and personal.

I discovered Sudden Fiction after eating lunch in downtown Castle Rock. The store is on the second floor of the Ecclesia Market -- a quaint, refurbished old church building filled with small businesses, ranging from a specialty grocery store to a bar and food vendors. Sudden Fiction is run by avid bibliophiles, and carries a wide range of both new and used books. My wife was drawn to the children's section, as well as non-fiction and woman's fiction; I loved the thrillers, science fiction and biographies. The staff is friendly and eager to help, with great recommendations. Their prices compete with Amazon -- but you can hold the book in your hand and walk out of the store with it, something that an on-line seller can never match. Castle Rock needs to support this new bookstore.
