"You can totally tell Sue Fisher King loves what she does as soon as you approach the just-cluttered-enough store. She's been at it for close to 40 years, giving her ample time to nail a product assortment that really speaks to her clientele: Evidently it's Italian linens, fine china, intricate chandeliers, and enough fancy candles to light up all of San Francisco. The rainbow tile wall (you can place custom orders for lava-stone stables from Southern France) is Instagram gold. "

Like to visit this shop when I’m in town. Have gone way out of my way to visit. Most of the things here are so beautiful. It’s pricey, but has been worth it and their sales are good. I buy Louis Sherry 2-piece boxes here because they’ll add a pretty bow giving it that little extra that’s missing on a table. The shop is great for gift-giving. A needed indulgence every now and then. I’ve collected certain pieces over time. This new napkin popped with a new to me table set from William Sonoma.

Micro aggressive, passive aggressive sales behavior. If a customer is buying your product, just take the money and stop playing power games. Just take the money so you can go and pay your bills in peace. And so you can retain some customers. I don’t know why you need to perform Mumbo jumbo microaggressions when the customer is already investing in the products that you have in the store. Don’t you think that’s counterintuitive?

Best selection of Astier pieces in the area! Lovely salespersons and a hop, skip and jump from Marin! Wonderful, and a great excuse for a drive over GG bridge🌉

My favorite shop in SF. They carry all of my favorites and the sales people are always helpful.

Fantastic selection of various tabletop, decor, and bath products. Seems to be a focus on handmade European wares with lovely, unique techniques. Even has a nice little back patio with gorgeous tile options Super nice, efficient, and knowledgeable service from Abby and team. The owner Ms. King is also a delight and very helpful and welcoming.

An all around great store for housewares, bath and body products, plus gifts. Wonderful tableware, flatware, linens, blankets, pillows, soaps, hand creams, and candles. It's a Sacramento Street institution :).

These guys were local & one has to be concerned with global warming. The Chiang Mae Dragon chocolates did not melt & were the perfect gift for the upcoming Lunar New Year

Yelp
The only West Coast shop that carries Astier de Villatte..and also the coldest employees around. I've been in several times and the service has always just been super unfriendly.

Yelp
I have know Sue since her beginnings on Sacramento St.The products I bought from her in the 70's are still in mint condition and I use currently. Sue manages to be present and to always look impeccable. She has been a great referral source for pretty much anything. I had a very unfortunate experience with one of her employees on a day that Sue was on a short vacation. The employee Vonny asked if I needed help.I replied that I have a small cherrywood table that I needed to place a few things on and asked for her help.I Eve took photos of the table and surroundings to help her.Her response to me was dismissive "Just take a look around" She then quickly pivoted to a customer who appeared to be holding an expensive product that she planned to purchase. Spending a few minutes with me would have been worth her time. I am pretty turned off to going in the store again.

Yelp
A beautiful store filled with treasures everywhere. Lovely place to shop for gifts for yourself and others. They offer gift wrapping too and do a great job. Service was attentive & friendly. Will definitely return whenever I'm in the area.

Yelp
She's an awful person! Not nice and yells at her employees all the time. Very mean to her employees, I would never shop there again.

Yelp
One very helpful and very nice sales person here named Jorge. I had just shipped paintings off to nyc for my very first gallery show and was in my work clothes. A woman greeted me (sort of?) and could not have been more uppity. I almost laughed.

Yelp
In this great city by the Bay, Sacramento Street in Pacific Heights has been a well traversed shopping district with edgy boutiques, home decorating stores, cafes, salons, etc. Sue Fisher King, (aka SFK) is, hands down, the QUEEN of them all! Located on the south side of Sacramento, between Baker and Broderick, the store is flanked by a design store, a cool edgy and hip boutique, and 2 home stores. In my city walks since I moved here 5 years ago, well almost 6, I would always walk by SFK not really stopping in as in my tiny tiny abode, I had no room nor time to entertain parties of more than 3! But I was always impressed with her fabulous windows and it took just ONE time when the word "sale" was posted, about a year ago, that I was finally drawn inside. Aside from my eyes popping out, I was BLOWN AWAY!! I loved everything I saw! Sue's eye for beauty, design, fabrication, and style is impeccably amazing!! I am an antique and modern jewelry addict, but I will never forget when saleslady Elaine told me that Astier de Villatte is better than jewelry! She WAS right!! While I have not given up my addiction, I am now collecting Astier!! I can go on and on listing more fabulous finds in her store but their great website can give you a better idea and with photos! I can add that ALL the items the store carries are superbly crafted. And an added bonus to any store, ALL, and I mean ALL, the sales people are very knowledgeable, courteous and special. I have become friends with them all. And if you so happen to be lucky to meet Sue herself, you will see such a wonderful, kind, and special lady that she is! So put on your coat and shoes and please make SFK your next stop!! You won't be disappointed!! You will see why this store is: SUE-perb!!

Yelp
What a beautiful shop! Enjoyed all the beautiful holiday decorations and complimentary hot cider. The service by the associates were gracious and friendly, especially at the counter. I do wish the young woman in the front had been more friendly and approachable ... As I felt I was annoying her with my questions about ornaments but she warmed up later. There are so many beautiful items! Highly recommend a stop inside while shopping on Sacramento Street.

Yelp
Simply stated, delightful! SFK is a lovely lady with great taste and her store makes my "to do" list every visit, and I mean every visit. I always seem to find at least one item I can't live another day without, it's that simple. Her associates are incredibly helpful and professional, they make the wondering through the store even more enjoyable as you simply can't notice or appreciate everything as there is always something new to take in. Great taste, great selection, great service it all adds up, this is why SFK wears the crown in San Francisco.

Yelp
Obsessed. Love the thoughtfully curated selection most of all the Astier de Villat. The best of the best. I visit every time I'm in the Bay.

Yelp
SFK is a nasty old woman. I placed an online order for 5 high end picture frames but never received shipping or tracking information. When I called, Sue was extremely brusque and rude and said she'd get back to me which she did but immediately berated me for having to leave a message on my phone and yelled, "What kind of phone service do you have? It says Google. What is that supposed to mean?" After getting beaten up for using the wrong phone company, she snapped, "This is COVID! I don't know when your order will be delivered because the delivery companies aren't reliable!" Umm. Thanks for your help. Also, doesn't explain why I never received correspondence from your store. I spent a tremendous amount of money at her shop over the many years I lived in the Bay Area but never again. I'm surprised her overinflated ego fits into the store. Maybe she needs to expand. Feel sorry for her employees.

Yelp
The store owner at Sue Fisher King is extremely rude and seems to cater to a certain type of shopper. Never judge a book by it's cover! I had a simple question about a set of baskets I intended to purchase for more than $300. The store owner let me know she could not help me nor was she interested in helping me. If you are looking for a fun, helpful shopping experience, this is not the place. I grew up in San Francisco and live around the corner from the store and have never been treated with such rudeness. Stunned by the lack of customer service here and unfortunately this small business owner will never have my business.

Yelp
OK, so SFK does have some great products, lots of colorful linens, great bedding, Juliska. The displays are not very user friendly, lots of items stacked and crowded. I've been in here twice in the last 2 weeks, walked front to back of the store and no one remotely greeted me. I can see that at Target, but it shouldn't be that way on Sacramento St.

Yelp
Another stop on the "I'm only here because the Food Lover's Guide said so" tour. It's a lot like Period George over in the Richmond, except that here they have far more than just tableware--linens, beauty products, cookbooks and all sorts of miscellaneous decorations. Also unlike Period George, I found some things here that I actually might buy if I didn't care about money, like these glossy square plates with rhinos or hippos set against 19th-century maps of Africa...perfect for a would-be-explorer's house. And also some kick-ass throws (yes, I'm talking about blankets, not sports--oh dear). Anyway, this is really just one of many such shops on this street, fueled no doubt by the money of the Pac Heights socialites, so it's a great place to bring Mom, your wife, or the girl posse around for an afternoon of decadent temptations.

Yelp
I discovered Sue Fisher King online while hunting down some hard to find candles. I'm so happy I did! Fantastic costumer service and great finds for candle connoisseurs or for those looking for unique, beautiful gifts from around the world. The shipping is very secure for fragile items. I've had a wonderful experience with the sales team online.

Yelp
The best thing about this opulent store is their wonderful selection of tableware, fine linens, gifts and simply gorgeous things we don't need but must have and want ! I always find something exquisitely different I must take home with me.....the last beautiful thing being a Kenneth Jay Lane white coral 4x6 frame which now sits on my desk. (I'm big on beach.) I've seen better organized and displayed stores elsewhere however the beautiful selection of merchandise shy you away from that thought in general.

Yelp
SFK is one of last of its kind. A true art form to create such a wonderful array of items. Department store equivalent would be Gumps in SF. SFK has both unique items that are hard to find and other more universally sought after pieces. Porthault, Sferra, cheaper lines out of Portugal, Murano glassware, some chic cheaper line out of Mexico, cashmere throws in gorgeous colors and on and on! She has the best eye and does a great job at editing high end and some mid/low (for this type of store). She meticulously curates beautiful bath linens, bedding, pillows, frames, books, ceramics, fancy soaps and a wonderful selection of dishware from all over the world. And all in a boutique size store. It's her curation that makes SFK such a gem. Their sales are wonderful so get on their mailing list. I have been coming here since I was in my 20's and could only afford one piece at a time and would add to it slowly. Now in my 40's I have an incredible selection of special items for our home. I believe in a high, low approach, so if you are looking for a couple of special pieces this is the place to begin and add accordingly with Pottery Barn and Anthropologie-ish type of stores (just my philosophy)... Oh, and the salespeople are great. Ask for Jamie if you need someone really outgoing. Everyone else is lovely, too, but may not have the super outgoing personality. But all are equally as knowledgable and helpful.

Yelp
Beautiful in every respect ! Lovely merchandise that unable to find in other stores. You will love it and can't go wrong of looking for that special item. Thank you for your consistency Sue Fisher King. We all love and admire your taste and elegance.

Yelp
The folks at Sue Fisher King always take good care of me. They wrap gifts nicely. It's a perfect place to buy a nice gift or exquisite things for the home. I love Astier de Villete and they have a beautiful selection.

Bryce B.

Yelp
This place is amazing! So many neat treasures for those "extra special" people in your life. Because this is a "higher end" retailer, the prices are comparable to Gumps. Although the quality is usually better and much more personable. Single guys trying to impress the future mother-in-law? Or worried about taking a gift nice enough to a baby shower or wedding?? This is a great place to start. Love visiting this store and the staff are always so welcoming and relaxed. No buying pressure here. Love visiting their store.

Yelp
I totally have a talent for walking into a store and falling in love with the most ridiculously expensive items. At first, I was browsing the place settings and wondering if there was really anything that I needed. Then the full basket full of coasters caught my attention. Score! Totally needed new coasters and I checked the price and was able to afford them. Moving onto the middle room which had some throws, beautiful serving platters and and array of books. And there it was...Perfectly placed in front of a stack of neatly folded throws...The Table. It was absolutely beautiful. I took another look at it and thought it would go perfect in my house, better yet in my bedroom. I touched it every so delicately and admired the craftsmanship. Then I took a look at the price...and I knew that our relationship was over before it ever really began ($$$$). To console myself, I picked up a couple candles for the house along with my new coasters. The coasters work really well with the coffee tables and the candles smell like a dream. It's the small stuff that makes your home and I definitely will be back to visit The Table.

Yelp
I have been coming here for years and though the product is not as unique as it once was, standards continue to remain high. Still not sure why books are a part of the mix, but I guess coffee tables for the rich need to be covered with something! Maintaining its pretense of Upper East Side Manhattan shopping in an increasingly pretentious San Francisco, this shop does offer the locale interesting and at times, surprisingly affordable accessories for the bath and home. Now if only some of the staff would be welcoming to those of us not wearing the latest Prada. Remember Sue Fisher King, this is San Francisco - where some of us with big trust funds don't have to dress to impress!

Yelp
I will make this one of my shortest reviews. Looooooove it!! We have our Etro duvet cover and 2 Mirella pillows. Total luxury and best customer service out there....even all the way to Hawaii. Im guilty of looking at their website way to often!

Yelp
What a find! I have been looking for a green cashmere throw and not only did SFK have several in stock and on display, but, they offer made-to-order throws in all sizes and many, many colors. The sales person could not have been more helpful ~ in fact, all three sales staff greeted me and asked if there was anything they could help me with. Not pushy, would let you browse, but were there when I needed assistance. Will definitely return as I know I will need to find the "perfect" item and or gift.

Yelp
Beautiful tableware, linen, table lining, small section of stationary and greeting cards, books etc. Staff are super friendly and welcoming. Quite a high-end of everything, definitely for the high-end lifestyle of home-decor.

Yelp
Beautiful full-of-jewel boutique of textiles, bedding, fine china, San Francisco Pacific Heights town living merchandises. I honestly feel out of place here, being the youngest, and only Asian American sometimes in this upscale shop, but I cannot help but love their high quality art works from all over the world. This is where I look for my European goods, specifically Astier de Villatte china and porcelains. The French nova boutique house makes dining ware out of vintage molds, giving it an austere, uneven vintage feeling (I LOVE IT). These dining wares look terrific with my chestnut wood tables and trays. Extremely elegant and modern. Sue is a woman of great taste. The taste is so good that it touches other cultures and ethnic backgrounds. My Japanese friends love this as a true 'souvenir' shop of San Francisco because these goods are limited addition, non-mass-produced, and each unique and delicate.

Andy D.

Yelp
This is one of the best stores in San Francisco. The products are unique and high quality and the staff actually cares if you're happy.

Yelp
Beautiful selection of Italian linens (think S'ferra Bros 1000 tc), French candles and room fragrances (Dyptique, etc.), tableware, and other do-dads for the PacHeights-type home. Great place to go for hostess gifts, if you're the kind of person who needs to do that. Very nice staff.

Ann M.

Yelp
This store is subtly racist..Been to the store 2 times in the past year and both times noted that the staff greeted the white customers and asked them if they needed help while ignorong and never acknoledeging non white customers.Never going there again

Patricia B.

Yelp
This is the ultimate in georgous things for the home. The store is filled with beautiful bed linens and towels along with the best selection and most elegant pottery you can find in SF. If you want a lovely and unusual gift this is the place to find it. Sue and her staff are all real professionals and are all very kind and helpful. When you do find a gift here to purchase it will be wrapped beautifully by Christina, Toby or David. It is the ideal place for brides to register if they want elegant gifts!
