Boston’s Best Cookies | Eater Boston

I order a cake from Sugar twice a year for my son and daughters birthday. Absolutely delicious cakes and cupcakes! And they look amazing! Sugar never disappoints! Great job on making my batman cake vision come to life! It looked and tasted amazing!

First time here in years. Cupcakes are absolutely delicious. So many choices and each one is great. Cake is tender and flavorful and each icing is rich, creamy and perfect. Not too sweet. Highly recommend.

Google
First time at Sugar Bakery today, and was so impressed with the whole experience. The cupcakes were outstanding...moist with just the right amount of sweetness. The staff working there were extremely friendly and helpful. The place was immaculate. Will most definitely be back and highly recommend!

Google
Great cupcakes! The cake was moist and not too sweet and the icing was so delicious. I will be coming back for sure to try the other flavors!

Sugar Bakery did it again! This is our birthday and all occassion bakery. My daughters 12yr old cake was awesome as always. The Hello Kitty cake was better than expected and delicious! Thank you as always!

Don't take living near this place for granted! I first tried Sugar Bakery 10 years ago, and still have not tried a cupcake place that tops them. Their flavors are astounding, and the quality is top notch. Whenever we make our yearly trip to CT, we always stop by here and travel back home several hours with tons of cupcakes. This place is such a gem. Our favorites are the classics- raspberry chocolate, pistachio, mint, midnight snack, and our daughter's favorites - the party cupcake and cotton candy. I wish this business the best of luck in always being a success, because they are truly talented.

The best cupcakes in Connecticut been a fan since they were on food network cupcake war where they were the winners🏆 cupcakes are like $3.50 each please don't go up anymore. Cupcakes stay moisten literally for days upon week. You can freeze them and take then out when ready to eat them and they still will be soft and moist. 😋 my favorites strawberry cheesecake cupcakes and oreo explosion

Google
Found the Sugar Bakery while searching for bakeries nearby we decided to take a chance the store is clean very well organized, and the staff were absolutely friendly, helpful and patient with us! The wait time was reasonable. We needed a birthday cake and found it easy to purchase one without having to order ahead of time. The cake along with cupcakes were absolutely deliciously moist not too sugary just right! The frosting was delicious, fluffy, and light. The cake was exquisite not too dense not too moist perfect. Our son who does not like cakes or could never finish one finished this cake. He said, “It’s absolutely delicious.” We will definitely be back for special occasions!

Yelp
Sugar Bakery has done it again. I have been getting my daughters birthday cakes from Sugar since she has been 1yrs old and now she is 12yrs old. The cake was awesome and better than expected. Thank you for always making our desserts so special.

Yelp
I loved the cupcakes from this bakery! I am very particular about the frosting on cupcakes because for the most part in my experience they are too sweet and sugary and I don't like that. But the frostings from this bakery are not that at all! I ate all of the frostings with the cakes and they have a cream cheesy taste to them which goes great (in my opinion) with the sweetness of the cake (which isn't too sweet anyways!) I tried 5 flavors and I liked every one of them. My favorite might be the strawberry one. Try putting them in the fridge and eating them cold with hot beverage if you're into that. I liked them a lot! I received these cupcakes as a birthday gift and loved it. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
Sugar Cupcakery & Bakery is a cake bakery that opened in East Haven, Connecticut in 2006. It was founded by Carol Vollono and her daughter Brenda DePonte. The mother-daughter duo has no formal bakery training. Carol began baking in her own mother's kitchen when she was just 8 years old. Brenda developed her marketing skills at the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising in NYC and her decorating skills when she worked at Magnolia Bakery and Dylan's Candy Bar. By 2004, the two decided to launch a cake baking operation in Carol's home kitchen. With some help from Carol's other daughter Jenna as well as her own mother, they dubbed the operation "Mrs. Sweetza's". Two years and a lot of cakes later, they opened up their own storefront location and changed the name to "Sugar". In 2010, Sugar was invited to compete in Season 2 of Food Network's "Cupcake Wars". Lo and behold, Sugar beat out two other bakeries (from Los Angeles and Portland, Oregon) and won $10,000. Today Sugar carries 36 cupcake flavors daily! My family and I have been doing business with Sugar Bakery for several years. It's always fun to stop in and get cupcakes for a special occasion ("Cannoli" is my personal favorite). When my wife and I needed a cake for our first child's Gender Reveal, we used Sugar. We again used them to make a cake for our son's first birthday. We also used to love seeing their Cupcake Truck at various events, but sadly the bakery retired their trucks in 2020 after eight years (in part due to the pandemic). My family and I recently stopped in at Sugar to get some of their seasonal Autumn cupcake flavors, which included "Pumpkin Cannoli", "Caramel Apple Cheesecake" and "Fall Sprinkle Cookie". In addition to cakes, Sugar also makes some excellent cookies. We picked out a variety of their French Macarons with flavors such as "Pistachio", "Birthday Cake", and "Red Velvet". Regardless of what you pick out at Sugar, you will surely not be disappointed!

Yelp
I can't believe I had never visited Sugar before, but better late than never! My mom requested to go for her birthday, and this bakery is a literal cupcake heaven! The staff was super nice and let us take our time to look through the cases and decide what we were going to pick out for our dozen. So many festive cupcakes for St. Patrick's Day and Easter that we loved! We've totally fallen in love with this bakery and they're by far some of the best cupcakes in CT. I already can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Greta cupcakes that are always consistently good. Black bottom is their best cupcake! Grateful they have gluten free and vegan options.

Yelp
I have gotten cupcakes and cakes here for work gatherings and always their cupcakes steal the show. Service is always friendly and helpful. My favorite thing to get is the macaroons. There's so many flavors to choose from and they all are very appealing to the eyes.
google avatar

Debra G.

Yelp
There isn't any better cupcakes! The variety is so amazing it takes forever to decide which I want. I always bit at least a 6 pack. My favorite is The German and Black Bottom! Delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
This place has one cupcake wars multiple times! It has by far my favorite cupcakes. I am big on the flavor and texture of the actual cake, and this place knocks it out of the park with every single one. My top favorites are the chocolate bottom cheesecake and the oreo explosion. However, if those aren't your cup of tea, there are dozens of other cupcakes options with new flavors always appearing. The bakery has other cookies ans snacks as well but if you stop here, you must get cupcakes!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Best cupcakes in the known universe. Hyperbole? Not in the least. Whereas too many cupcakes end up being too dry somehow those from Sugar are always deliciously moist. My favorites are the Black Bottom, 24 Carat Cake and Cannoli. Of course, experiment with the seasonal flavors which are constantly changing. Special note on the friendliness of the staff; they are always super welcoming.
google avatar

Rose C.

Yelp
Haven't been here for awhile but it had a friendlier vibe. If you have a sweet tooth or you want to bring dessert to a friend's, this is the place. Their cupcakes are exceptionally good. I always go with my favorites which is chocolate pumpkin coconut or lemon. Next time I'll force myself to try different flavors.

Yelp
I recently went to an event and they had cupcakes and a cake from Sugar Bakery, East Haven, CT. All I can say is this place is magic to your soul. The cupcakes and the cake was heavenly at the event. I went myself two weeks later and got a sample for myself to see if it the magic was a hoax. LOL Needless to say it was not it was the real bakery magic. The best thing I like about this bakery it's not near my home her in CT. LOL Ladies you will feel your thighs growing as your stand at the case making your picks. LOL I was in line and the lady behind me came to try them and she was from Singapore. She was here in CT for vacation and someone told her and her husband about the bakery. She and I ate a cupcake together outside and no words were exchanged just eye rolling and head shaking. LOL Go get you something from Sugar and see if your eyes don't roll around in your head. LOL My one and only wish for Sugar Bakery is that they NEVER go out of business. I don't think they will because the line was out the door. Go then Go then Go again.

Yelp
Yesterday was my birthday and my best friend took money she didn't have to buy me a cake from Sugar. I was so excited, as I'd heard so much about the bakery and how good everything was. She got my favorite flavor: Classic Simply Vanilla Cake. it was beautiful and we couldn't wait to cut it and share it at my little party. I should have left it in the box and just looked at it. The cake was dry and didn't have much of a vanilla taste. But it was the god awful frosting that had us eating around it and leaving it on our plate. It should have been called: Classic Simply Grease Cake. The "buttercream" frosting tasted like Criso with a little vanilla flavor. When it warmed up the frosting got melty. A piece that had the a pompom on it had the decoration try to slide off of the cake. I ate my piece with a smile since my bestie spent so much money on it and wanted to make me happy. But I can't imagine eating what is left. I'm trying to decide if I will scrape the frosting off and try to salvage it with more powdered sugar and vanilla and butter flavors, or just call it a loss. I'm so disappointed and I can't understand why this bakery gets so many stars. Maybe they just had a bad day when they made my cake. But you only have one chance to impress a first-time customer and I know that neither of us will waste our money here again. What a shame. I'm must rather leave a glowing review and had a delicious birthday cake.
google avatar

Suzanne A.

Yelp
A picture is worth a thousand words.. decided to finally review our favorite go-to for birthdays and prove it with some picture! Always beautiful designs and our family favorite is the Neapolitan cake (chocolate, strawberry and vanilla- everyone's happy). I think sugar excels in certain flavors- notably strawberry, chocolate and lemon. Anytime those flavors are in a cake by sugar it's always perfection.

Yelp
Second post for this amazing little bakery! Last time for the 4th of July, I got a cupcake with a grill and a hot dog on top. Now for Easter I got a birds nest and a marshmallow peeps cupcake! Love, love, LOVE Sugar Bakery!!! Thanks again guys!!! Best cupcakes ever!!!

Yelp
Cupcake bakery with a massive variety of delicious cupcake from the people who one cupcake wars. When I say a massive variety, I mean it. I think they had more than 20 unique and creative cupcakes when I went I tried 3 of their cupcakes and they were absolutely delicious and all tasted very different from each other You can buy cupcakes individually or in whatever quantity you want Also have a few cookies and full cakes as well. The shop also has a separate section with a ton of games and cute little gifts No seating 9

Yelp
My three stars is based on customer service of the older man standing in the side line helicoptering over my 5 yrs old movement not even the nice young lady that took my order and cashed me out .. Wondering if it was because I'm Hispanic or does he hover over every mother and child that walks in ..it's a colorful and win sickle store all kids must get excited. My son grabbed a car and there goes the old man hey don't do that ur going to brake Then he touches. The tiara and hegira the old man again ohh he's going to brake it and I'm like at this point are u like this with every mother and child That come in Wowww this old man just hit a nerve My son did nothing wrong just being a five year old Any how he not professional or kid friendly .. how I felt some type of way to write this review Not kid friendly at all that's why I give everyone else was nice

Yelp
We really were in the mood for sweet cupcakes today from Sugar , we have purchased cupcakes from here before and loved them. Yelp
Adding some pics to my initial review. Super disappointed they don't have the cupcake trucks anymore, they were super convenient as they'd park in New Haven all the time! I always choose sugar over any other cupcake bakery in the area! Best cupcakes around!

Yelp
I adore Sugar Bakery. It's our go-to place for birthday cakes and birthday party cupcakes. I got this cannoli cake for my mother's 29th (again) birthday. It was light and delicious. Perfect after a heavy meal. Everyone loved it. I appreciate that they have a gluten-free cupcake option of the same cake, so no one felt left out.

Yelp
These cupcakes are very scrumptious with icing on top !! We had a 12 selection and everyone devoured the ones they chose . For this pack it was 36$ and we were able to pick any of the cupcakes !! It was so many different options to choose from and some classic ones too ! You can find some party favors at this location that are cool fun and different from the other party stores !! My favorite out of the 2 I chose was the pistachio cupcake and cannoli as well !! We brought our cupcakes to the restaurant for my daughters party and the waiter was interested in the location and potential service for her upcoming party !! Although it was our first time at the location I was more than happy to point this young lady in the direction of Sugar bakery!!

Yelp
I should have believed the hype all these years living in CT, but it took me awhile to commit to the drive to east haven for cupcakes. Well, I finally went and they were beyond anything I could have imagined. When you walk in, I was swept away into an adorable shop. I had my three kids with me so I honestly didn't want to be bamboozled into buying anything so I didn't walk around. :-( when we entered the bakery part, my eyes grew bigger and my mind scrambled. There was so many creative choices in cupcakes that it was hard to narrow it down and choose. I personally decided on a brownie cookie dough and I did not regret it! However, I got a German chocolate for my mother and I took a sliver and that was new level amazing. Strawberry cheesecake was a favorite for my son, hostess cake was the bomb! For the creativity and freshness, I don't think the price is bad. $4 for an individual cupcake and then you can get packages 6 for $18. (And other packages). They have macarons as well. I didn't try them but my children did and they were wowed. (Our family loves macarons so they know what's good and what's just ehh). Don't hesitate! Just go enjoy these cupcakes for yourself. I can't wait to go back. Follow me on Instagram @date_night_craves for foodie and non foodie fun!

Yelp
I'm usually not a cupcake eater, but I was craving something sweet. Found this place on yelp and decided to try this place out. For someone who does not really eat cupcakes, I will say that this place is really good and lives up to the reviews. I got many cupcakes, but my favorites were the red velvet. I really like how the icing is not sickly sweet and not stiff. The cupcake literally is nice, moist and well-balanced. The cupcake nor the icing overpower each other. Another cupcake we really liked was the toasted almond and cotton candy. They have such a variety and it was nice supporting a local business as well. Will be back once the craving strikes or if I need a cake!

Yelp
Sugar Bakery has a selection of four gluten free cupcakes (not vegan) and three vegan cupcakes (not GF), and I was curious to check them out because of Cupcake Wars hype. To answer Brad L's question they are not both, so apologies if you're a vegan with celiac, you won't find baked goods here. Try Katalina's in New Haven. There is parking in the back lot on a dead end street, because parking on Main Street is kind of a nightmare. Staff is very friendly, answer all your questions and they have appropriate COVID-19 distancing measures in place. I bought three vegan cupcakes, the vanilla, Oreo and black and white (chocolate with vanilla buttercream). Presentation was beautiful, as to be expected. The vanilla tasted the most like regular birthday cake. I don't know what they used for the buttercream, it was slightly waxy but extremely airy. The cake itself was sweet but the buttercream didn't over power it. The cake also was slightly denser but it was not dry, so that was appreciated. This was my favorite. The Oreo cupcake was weird, the cake itself was not very sweet, with a slightly bitter aftertaste and there was no contrast with the crumbs. It felt more like crumbled chocolate cake vs. cookie, which was disappointing because I like crumbs in Oreo cupcake, but that's a preference. I tasted a hint of black pepper in the batter of the chocolate cakes that wasn't there with the vanilla. I thought at first the cake got contaminated by a knife, even though I washed it throughly beforehand, but the black and white also had the same hint of cracked black pepper/grains of paradise. It was definitely inventive, but if it's not your jam I would stick with vanilla. I strongly suspect that these too are also VCTOW-derived cupcakes. TBH, the real winner of vegan cupcakes is Isa Chandra Moskowitz, so it was nice to see Sugar's spin on those very familiar to me recipes. I was told the GF cupcakes were good. They were fine. If I didn't want to bake cupcakes and really craved one I would go to Sugar, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get some. I would probably just order a cake from here. They are not doing special orders though, so whatever is on the website is what you get.

Yelp
I had no idea this cupcake shop was the winner of Cupcake Wars on Food Network until I looked at the container our cupcakes came in. My expectations definitely went up after that. And I was not disappointed. My husband and I kind of fell off the cupcake-craze train years ago and when we remembered this, we were reminded of how delicious cupcakes are. So why did we stop searching for them? Probably because when we arrive there are too many choices. This was our problem here! Everything looked so good. There was everything from chocolate-covered, peanut butter-drizzled, fruit-filled, whipped-cream galore...what else could you ask for? My husband and I decided on two each. I tried the hostess cupcake (in honor of my favorite childhood lunchbox snack) and the strawberry shortcake because that dessert brings me back to summer days with my family. Both were delicious. I bet my younger self would not appreciate the darker chocolate ganache on the hostess cupcake but adult me certainly did. The cream filling was light and plentiful. Close-your-eyes good! The star of the show for me was the strawberry shortcake. That was SPOT ON. The cake itself was a denser pound-cake-like texture filled with whipped cream frosting and fresh strawberries. Wow. Amazing. I was completely blown away and surprised I was not eating actual strawberry shortcake. My husband opted for the Cookie Monster (which was delicious) and some kind of cookie dough kind (delicious as well but so rich!) I have my eye on them for an upcoming larger order. Yum!

Yelp
Winner of the Food Network's 2010 Cupcake Wars, Sugar Bakery is a hidden gem! Located in East Haven CT, the store is packed with more kinds of cupcakes than one could ever imagine. I had no idea it existed until someone told me about it. Their website lists all of their cupcakes but doesn't brag about their greatness. These cupcakes are fit for royalty! Incredible range of flavors & highly creative. Perfect texture & very moist. Sweet but not overly. I purchased half a dozen & my only regret was not buying every single flavor. The lady behind the counter was very nice. She informed me that they have their regularly in stock flavors as well as seasonal flavors. The famous one is the cannoli cupcake - the contest winner - and it's wonderful. But it was the pistachio & blueberry pancake cupcakes that blew me away! It was life changing -never have had anything like it. As other reviewers have stated, these may be the best cupcakes ever. Takes cupcakes to another level. Oh, and by the way, they also make cakes. I'd better start working out more...

Yelp
Came here to get cupcakes for my graduation and both of my parents' birthdays and omg the selection of cupcakes here was unbelievable. And the frosting is not that thick hard frosting that's hard to digest. It's a soft whipped frosting. Each cupcake is so fresh and delicious. Thank goodness they don't sell stale cupcakes. We got one of almost every single flavor. They sell really cute accessories along with their cupcakes and cute lollipops we ended up getting for my little brother.
google avatar

Jess L.

Yelp
I'm not usually one craving cupcakes, but if these cupcakes were always on hand, I definitely would be. One of the best things our friends brought to a recent pot luck was cupcakes from Sugar Bakery. They were some of the most moist cupcakes I've ever had, and they have a nice balance between the cake part and the icing. They were also not total sugar bombs (despite the name of the bakery!) I'm not sure all the flavors that were brought to our party, but the red velvet and one with chocolate and peanut butter were absolutely delicious. If you're bringing over treats, check out Sugar Bakery!

Yelp
Best cupcakes around ! A real dining experience especially for kids! A lot of fun to visit their bakery! Just wish they didn't close so early!

Yelp
Inside a quaint neighborhood in East Haven on the main road, there is Sugar Bakery. The shop is split into two rooms, the first for decorations and gifts and cards, all quite lovely. The second is where the Pastries are situated. I think I got a dozen for my friends birthday. I was worried the popularity could cause the shop to be too busy, and yet I was able to walk in and out in under five minutes. Everyone was helpful and everything was enticing. Cannot wait to go back. (The cupcakes were a hit at the party, while I only got to try a few (split into fourths) they seemed well worth it).
google avatar

Anju P.

Yelp
This is one decent (ok-ok) bakery near East Haven. I quite like some of their cup cakes like coconut dream and 24 karate. Some other flavors seem too sweet for me. I have tried a couple of cakes from here (none pre ordered) all with buttercream frosting as they did not have any other options in the store and they all ended up tasting not that great. I find the cakes too pricey for the taste. I think I will give it another try and will order a customized cake in advance as they told me that they can make cake with any flavor if pre ordered.

Yelp
I was scrolling along Facebook yesterday when I came across a post someone had shared with a picture showing that Sugar Bakery had added a whole vegan and gluten free case. I'd never heard of Sugar Bakery. I was planning on going somewhere else for cupcakes, but after seeing their post, I decided to change my plans and go in to investigate. The vegan and gluten free case is all the way to the back of the display cases. I made my way down until I saw the sign "Vegan and Gluten Free Friendly". It wasn't immediately apparent which were vegan, which were gluten free, and which (if any?) are both vegan and gluten free. So I asked. Out of the entire case containing 9 varieties of delicious looking cupcakes, I learned that only 3 of them were vegan. Hmm, okay. I asked for one of each. I asked if they have vegan cakes, she said only upon request ahead of time. The cupcakes themselves...utterly phenomenal. I would have liked to buy more, but they only offer 3 varieties, I guess? Not sure if the vegan ones are also gluten free? That didn't seem evident on the tags or the sign in the display case. On the one hand, I think it's amazing they have an entire case for vegan and/or gluten free...but really there are only 3 vegan cupcakes, and no other vegan items that are readily available in the bakery, to my knowledge. If you're gluten free, it's probably worth it to come for 6 or 9 varieties of cupcakes and maybe other stuff, but for 3 varieties of cupcakes, vegans might not want to drive too far out of their way, if you know what I'm saying. To walk in and see this long row of magical cupcakes but you can only eat 3 is hyper disappointing. "Exclusively vegan/gluten free case" while technically true, is a bit of a stretch. The word "vegan" appears 4 times in the case and there aren't even 4 varieties of vegan cupcakes. Eh. I'll probably be back. No rush. Thanks for the 3 delicious vegan cupcakes, SB, it's a wonderful start! Many bakeries don't have even that. Wish I could have bought more!

Yelp
Always had sugar for years.. i can say this is the first time pulling a hair out of the cupcake.. Bought here as a replacement of a cake for my mothers birthday.. very upsetting. never will get them again.. very sad

Yelp
This place hands down has the best cupcakes in the area. We always stop here for consistently moist cupcakes and their great seasonal variations. Can never go wrong getting cupcakes here. Love it!

Yelp
Sugar Bakery is my go-to place for cupcakes that are consistently delicious each time. My husband and I enjoy trying their new monthly flavors, as well as keeping up with our usual favorites. We always recommend them to friends and family. Customer service, whether in-store or on the phone, is always friendly and polite. Recently we ordered our first cake from Sugar and were just as happy as we are with the cupcakes. Moist and flavorful cake, and nice presentation. My only negative regards the flavor we ordered, Wedding Cake. The cake is supposed to have five macaron flavors on top, but instead only has two. This was disappointing as the macaron variety is what we were expecting, but instead got only two flavors, Lemon and Pistachio. If they were out or didn't make enough, I wish they would have reached out to us instead of not saying anything. Hopefully if next time we order a cake from them, everything will be correct as is shown on their website.

Yelp
Love these cupcakes so much! I take them to different places for my job and people go crazy for them! They are always fresh and delicious with something for everyone. Some of our favorites include the lemon, confetti, and coconut. It would be hard for someone not to find something they like. They also change up some of the flavors monthly which keeps it fun. The service is always very friendly!

Yelp
Great variety of flavors. Always difficult to pick which ones I want to bring home. I do favor the cannoli and the carrot cake.

Emily D.

Yelp
These guys won cupcake wars and it's easy to see why. The cupcakes always have the perfect balance of icing to cake which is rarer than it should be in a world that tends to go overboard with icing. The seasonal flavors are a double edged sword because while it means there is always something new to try, a favorite flavor can disappear for the year! On the other hand it keeps you from ordering the same thing over and over so I've explored a lot of their options and found so many amazing cupcakes. One of their permanent flavors that I adore is the "Birthday Cake". So delicious. Service is efficient and the place is cute although I've never personally used the party facilities.

Yelp
A friend told me about this place a few years back and I've loved it ever since. The cupcakes are delicious (the Boston cream and Italian rainbow flavors especially). We had a strawberry shortcake flavored cake for a friends birthday and there were no leftovers. I always buy an assortment of cupcakes when my nieces and nephews are in town, they truly look forward to the treats. The staff is vey polite and lets you take your time to review flavors if ordering at the store. It's worth the trip if you've never been

Theresa P.

Yelp
Officially never again. The passion is gone. The product is mediocre and doesn't fit the high price, $150.00 for a cake, only one layer of filling - come on!
google avatar

Kate C.

Yelp
I don't know how I've never reviewed Sugar before. The staff, especially the gentleman at the register are all very nice and super patient and accommodating while you painstakingly pick your cupcake flavors. My daughter loves the confetti dip, and I do as well, funfetti cake with buttercream frosting dipped in funfetti shell, yum. I also love the cherry dip, and the toasted almond which are of similar sweet delicious almondy flavoring. At Christmastime the Buddy the elf cupcake steals my heart maple, buttercream, marshmallows, m&m's. My husband got me the Italian rainbow cookie cake for my birthday last year and it was the best birthday cake I've ever had from a store.

Yelp
Honestly just a great place for some cupcakes. Not terribly priced and a huge variety as well. If you are around east haven and in the mood for some cupcakes definitely stop by! They are all delicious and very big as well!
google avatar

Kristen S.

Yelp
I drove 3 hours roundtrip. I give the cupcakes a 2.5 if I could. I feel the allure here is that they have so many flavors. The cake was very dense and seemed to be the same for every cupcake with just a different frosting. Frosting was good and flavors were unique but they fell short and the service? Could've been a little more pleasant. I enjoyed the funfetti cookie the best.

Yelp
They were really good! I like visiting here! There Strawberry Cupcake is really a winner! Cannoli red velvet strawberry vegan chocolate taste like a equal sugar filled brownie too sweet, black and white nothing special, wedding cake taste like old school wedding cake not moist.

Yelp
Went to Sugar bakery to look for gluten-free/vegan option since I was just diagnosed with a condition that I need to have gluten-free items in my diet. I found a couple cupcakes, cookies, scones that fits the criteria I was looking for and everything was so clean and the service was quick and helpful.

Yelp
Some of the best cupcakes in CT!! They have such a wide assortment of flavors, including seasonal options. They're a little expensive, but oh so worth it if you like cupcakes!
