Sugar Beach Events

We recently photographed a few weddings here, and can without a doubt, say that this is pretty much the perfect wedding venue. On top of the staff being top notch, the mix of a big open (and air conditioned!) ballroom right on the beach with grass AND sand AND palm trees AND sunset views.....what more could you ask for? We hope to document many more weddings here and could not recommend it enough!!

Where do I even start. My wife and I got married here on June 1st, 2024, and having our wedding at Sugar Beach Events was the easiest decision as well as the best decision we could have made. The venue itself is breathtaking and the service we received from the first time we reached out, until our send off, was unbelievable. For any questions along the way, Chef Lee and her team (Brittney and Rachel especially) were always so prompt and friendly and made decision making a breeze. When it came time to select our caterer, we simply had to go with Sugar Beach itself. Chef Lee - you are simply the best! We had a food tasting a few months before the wedding, and fell in love with everything she prepared. It was the best food of any wedding we ever attended (we may be biased, but it's true), and our guests still talk about it. We had our reception on the lawn, cocktails inside, and then dinner outside again under the lights. Having the waves crash right behind us while we were eating, was an experience you simply can't put words to. Thank you all for making this the most memorable day of our lives, and we'll always make sure to stop by and say hello whenever we're on the island - that's how special you all are to us. Mahalo! I have to admit that Sugar Beach was not our original venue. 4 days before our wedding day we found out the entire ceremony and reception had to be moved. We had already chosen Chef Lee to cater. Her food is simply the best. But also having a wedding venue made the change seamless and now I couldn't imagine having it anywhere else because it went perfectly. I mean there isn't anything I would change about it. The guests thought it was gorgeous and it is. The staff were like ninjas and your needs were always met. There was a perfect combination of indoor and outdoor space. Everyone simply had a magical time. Sunsets there are beautiful and the pictures we took look so good. We were able to do a tasting back in April and what impressed us about Chef Lee was that she not only made everything we requested, but she made it all gluten free. She was able to make our final menu entirely gluten free at our request. And it was delicious. Thanks for everything Sugar Beach! Best. Day. Ever.

I cannot recommend Sugar Beach Events highly enough for anyone looking to create an unforgettable experience. We celebrated our 30th anniversary on September 24, 2024, and it was nothing short of magical. Chef Lee’s culinary skills truly elevated our event. Each dish was a masterpiece—flavorful, and beautifully presented. Her passion for food is evident, and it made our celebration even more special. From the very beginning, Chef Lee provided flawless communication and coordination. She ensured that every detail was taken care of, making the planning process stress-free and enjoyable. It was heartwarming to reconnect with her after so many years, and her genuine care for our celebration made it even more meaningful. The venue itself is stunning, right on the ocean with breathtaking views that provided the perfect backdrop for our evening. The staff was excellent, attentive, and friendly, contributing to a seamless experience. Everything went smoothly, allowing us to fully enjoy our special day. Thank you, Sugar Beach Events, and Chef Lee, for making our 30th anniversary celebration one we will cherish forever!

We got married at Sugar Beach Events last week and it was a dream come true! The day we booked the venue, Brooke and Rachel were super helpful with all my questions and planning process. We had a guest count of about 70 and the venue was perfect and made it feel more intimate (you can definitely fit way more). Our friends and family are still complimenting on how beautiful the location was. We were able to step right onto the beach for our sunset pictures. FYI, the beach is public so be aware you'll have onlookers during the wedding but I honestly barely noticed. Sugar Beach has their own catering but the food is hands down the best event food I have ever had! Everything was flavorful and cooked to perfection (even our friend who is a Chef gave a thumbs up). The staff at Sugar Beach were also amazing, they were so attentive and friendly. Thank you for making our wedding so memorable!

We are so happy that we choose Sugar Beach Events! My husband and I knew we wanted a destination beach wedding but planning it from thousands of miles away made us very uncertain. However, we are so thankful when we found Sugar Beach Events and started working with Kristen. She was amazing and so easy to work with! As busy as we were, Kristen made sure we were on top of it all. She answered all of our questions (we had million questions!) and reassured us everything would work out. Our experience from start to finish was great. From the initial consultation via email to the day after our wedding (guests left items). We loved it all! We were both a bit nervous on the our wedding day (hoping nothing goes wrong) but knowing Kristen was there made it all better. We felt like we did not have to worry. We can truly say that our wedding day was our kind of perfect and we would not have changed anything. From the beautiful venue and delicious food to the amazing staff members. Our guests raved about the food (especially the appetizers and popcorn). All the staff members at Sugar Beach Events were very welcoming and kind to us and our guests. It seemed that they knew how overwhelmed the bride and groom could be and it felt as though they were looking out for us. During the reception, we found our sweetheart table filled with appetizers that we had not gotten a chance to try since we were busy talking to our family, friends and taking photos. They also added a very sweet touch to our special day by sending us off with two slices of our wedding cake, that we also did not get a chance to eat. The place were staying at was only a feet away and so we took a little bit longer with our loud group to leave the venue but we did not feel rushed at all. We cannot express how grateful we are for the amazing experience! We would like to thank Sugar Beach Events and the staff members for making our wedding day extra special. The venue felt magical and the staff was the perfect touch. I am getting a bit emotional just writing this review. Again, thank you!

Absolutely perfect wedding from top to bottom. SO many people kept asking if I was nervous or anxious throughout the wedding planning process and every time, my honest answer was "not at all." Kristen and Gabrielle were extremely responsive and followed up with us every step of the way to make sure we were on track with our side of the planning. The day-of coordination was on point. Kristen gave us honest and prompt feedback on all the vendors when we were going through all our options, and she was transparent about the pricing and offerings so we never had any doubts or fuzziness about the process and what we were paying. The venue: it's a perfect setting for a wedding - so much better than a giant hotel/resort where you're being gawked at by hundreds of hotel guests and you're just one of thousands of guests the venue may be serving at any given moment. At Sugar Beach, YOU and your event are the ONLY thing the whole venue is focused on, and the setting makes for a perfectly intimate event just for you and your guests. The lawn and the beach frame the sunset perfectly for the most gorgeous photos. The amenities in the house - like the bridal suite, the upstairs balcony, even the bathrooms - make the day-of experience super seamless (you don't have to go back and forth between the salon, the dress, etc). The food was excellent - there are so many options to choose from and they are all delicious. Again, having the entire kitchen and chef (CHEF LEE FOR THE WIN) dedicated to your wedding has so many advantages - in how flexible they are with the menu options and attentiveness to each individual guest's dietary restrictions. This was definitely a highlight that our guests raved about after the wedding. Overall, I can't think of a single thing that was missing or lacking in the wedding - it truly was a wedding of our dreams and we are forever grateful for the Sugar Beach Events team for all their hard work to make it happen. Sugar Beach catered our wedding on Maui and we could not have been more impressed! The food was delicious, the presentation was perfect. Chef Lee was so helpful throughout the planning process. To top it all off, they sent us back to the hotel at the end of the night with midnight snacks for the bride and groom. Truly took care of everything down to the last detail!
