10 Kid-Friendly South Florida Restaurants That Aren’t Boring

"The name of the restaurant says it all. Sugar Factory, dubbed “America’s most Instagrammed Restaurant,” is an over-the-top ode to all things sweet, and is a basically a childhood dream. The celeb-loved chain has locations all over Miami, but its newly opened location inside the Aventura Mall takes the cake, literally. This bright, family-friendly location offers something for everyone. Yes, sweets dominate the menu with offerings like s’mores Nutella crepes, cannoli stuffed French toast, and seven different types of “insane” milkshakes, but plenty of savory options are also available like burgers, pastas, and even higher-end entrees like surf and turf can also be found." - Olee Fowler

This restaurant is super cute and nicely decorated, it's has a lot of Instagram-able walls and decor. I made reservations on open table to celebrate my friends birthday on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant had a few tables occupied and we were seated right away. Both of us decided to order burgers, I ordered the one with cheese sauce, and strawberry cheesecake pancakes for dessert and he ordered the waffle burger which they were just mediocre at best. Both of them came out room temp and dry even the fries weren't crispy. The flavor of the cheesy burger tasted better than the waffle. The food runner brought the strawberry pancakes at the same time as the burgers even though I requested them for after so the ice cream bar melted by the time we finished our meals. As far as the pancakes they were aesthetically pleasing but tasted horrible, they were dry, rubbery and tasteless not soft and fluffy and all. The best parts of that dish was all the things that weren't made from the restaurant such as the strawberry short cake popsicle and slice of cheesecake. After we ordered and the food runner brought over our dishes our server was no where to be found and our glasses were empty, they charged a mandatory service charge of 20% to every check is probably why service is subpar. Overall I don't recommend the entrees but I may come back to try some shakes and desserts.

So much fun! We shared the rainbow sliders and french fries. We also tried a mimosa flight which included 3 different mimosas with yummy candy. The mimosas were delicious and strong. For desert we opted for the banana split and were really impressed. The flavors meshed perfectly and the caramelized banana was a great surprise. Really cute setup inside and there’s a few outdoor tables too. Definitely recommend!

The food wasn't horrible just not crazy about it with the price equivalent... pretty steep pricing... the sugar factory is fun for experience, I will say I enjoyed their food, and their drinks were good. I will say the staff was very nice and everything was clean and beautiful.

Honestly worst experience ever! I never give bad reviews but this place was terrible. The waitress didn’t even take drink orders I asked for a wine list and she said they didn’t have one? So I drank water not by choice! My husband asked for a beer on tap and she brought him a can… we were a table of 6 and never were asked for drinks nor did she even refill our waters. We asked about menu items and she was clueless didn’t even know what a quesadilla was. After we ordered she completely disappeared and our food was delivered one plate at a time with about 5 minutes between each delivery. My sons food had rubber band in it and the she completely forgot the last burger. I found her in the restaurant and she didn’t remember us ordering a burger (we had two). We did complain and received a discount but they truly need to do better we eat out often and have never had such an awful experience. We were so excited to go there and mainly for the desert which we never made it to because we were not asked and we’re limited on time as we had been there nearly two hours. I had promised my son candy so we went to the shop where we were also white disappointed in but he wanted some sour patch kids and gummy worms. There was no pricing anywhere so we were very cautious in our bag size. When we checked out we were shocked to see it was $16 (they charge $20 pound) I definitely will never return for food possibly a dessert because I do feel short changed in my experience. I hope management will take note of my complaint and make changes as of now this place is so poorly ran it’s sad.

The wait was extremely long for our drink, took 45mins to get there. Our waitress was nice but she was juggling a lot of tables with bigger parties so I felt like we were kinda push to the side. Called the manager over and she was great. She listened to my concern and apologized and resolved the issue. That made me feel a lot better about the experience. It was my first time at a sugar factory.

Well I first heard about this place I looked on google maps and to my surprise there were amazing reviews so I went when I first walked in there’s pictures of celebrities on the wall. But one thing you should know make a reservation if you don’t your probably not getting a table anyways back to the restaurant when I first sat down they give you a menu with there famous surgery drinks they have them in alcoholic and nonalcoholic next they give you the food/dessert menu the menu has a lot of stir fry’s,burgers, steaks and there famous rainbow sliders (I recommend the sliders) I ordered the rainbow sliders when my food got there it did not disappoint it was delicious. Then I got dessert I ordered the cookies and cream Sunday and I would say it’s the best dessert in aventura mall. Other than that the service was great the place was clean it’s great for birthdays. I will be coming back soon

Very beautiful aesthetics. Food was just average and overpriced. Service was quick. Ordered the flaming hot cheetos burger, asked for med rare, but it over cooked. Ordered both the nachos with beef and guacamole, separately- again, just average. Penne was very simple, flavours and presentation was average. The half pollo came out, very presentable on a slate plate. This was the most flavourful dish. Sample app platter, exactly what you would expect- which is good. Drinks: Kids likes the mango milkshakes. Partner has two of the grape crush bevys. Was nice to take the kids to this place, but I would not go back. Only wow factor was the decor.

I had my birthday dinner at Sugar Factory Aventura on Sunday Oct 9th and it was perfect! We were 12 people. Our waiter Franco was attentive, accommodating and super nice. We were in the private dining section which is a beautiful pink room. The drinks were a little on the sweet side but super fun. The food was delicious. They really made my birthday dinner special!
