Tour Barton G. new Chicago location in River North to see the wild menu | Eater Chicago

"I note that Sugar Factory American Brasserie occupies a 9,000-square-foot space and offers both sweet and savory American culinary classics to the MB Financial Park Entertainment District in Rosemont; it was also mentioned among out-of-town themed restaurants that have found Chicago-area homes." - Ashok Selvam

This was my 1st time visiting the Sugar Factory! I loved the atmosphere immediately, they are so ready for "Spooky Season"! The hostess was quite accommodating when we were waiting for the rest of our dinner party to arrive! A sweet place to celebrate a Sweet 16! The food was really good. Our server was attentive to our needs and made sure we were taken care of. We will most definitely be returning!

Google
1st time in & I know it's all about the ooo's & aaahhhh's of the fancy drinks and experience. However, prices for the quality is absolutely ridiculous, plus a 20% gratuity add on & we were only a party of 3. My daughter enjoyed it but I did not like my 23$ margarita. It was pretty to look at with a nasty aftertaste. Service was good and our server was friendly but there's better options in my opinion, food just wasn't all that.

I’ve been to this location a few times and it never disappoints! Recently, my spouse and I decided to dine in here during our weekend getaway and it was a vibe per usual. We ordered the onion rings as an appetizer. I ordered the brick chicken dinner, along with the oreo madness insane milkshake. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles, along with the chocolate peanut butter cup mania milkshake. So far, they’re top rated for milkshakes! Overall, the food was great. Although we were served with warm water (an easy fix), our waitress was nice. If you want to step out and have a great time, I highly recommend this place! It is surrounded by hotels, entertainment and a shopping outlet.

Google
If you’re a sweet’s enthusiast this place is a candy land that offers plenty of sugar. I would recommend the drinks and maybe desserts as the variety of food my family and I ordered, tastes like it came from the frozen section of a local grocery store and was warmed in the microwave. Pricey and a little overrated but worth a visit especially if you have kids. Great picture props.

Google
Delicious. Expensive drinks, but theyre large, themed, and you pay for area amd setting. Worth it. So much fun!. Split some fried Mac n cheese with my husband and even one ball was filling and surprisingly great. Will come again :).

Google
Food was good our group was happy over all with the food. Best damn Italian chicken fajitas I've ever had? They were good but what's up with the Italian seasoning. Our server left a lot to be desired. If your going to force 20% out of people for service fees make sure the service is worth 20% not 5%. Very pushy moved quick but didn't seem to get anything done. Had to find a Manger to let me pay my bill and get a box. But hey it was OK I guess

Google
We took our niece for her birthday (11) she absolutely loved it ! We had the chicken Parm and Cajun chicken penne pasta and a few ( non alcoholic drinks). Their Carmel latte coffee is a must!

Johnny C.

Google
Pricey, but extremely worth it. I got a vanilla milkshake and it was by far the best milkshake I’ve had in my life. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone looking to try some high quality sweets.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our experience here at the bar with Alex! He is very attentive ! great conversationalist and makes amazing drinks. I ordered the ham and cheese sandwich with fries. It was so good but he did notice that the cheese was not melted enough so he took it back and got me a brand new plate and it was perfection. Greatly appreciate his Service. He's definitely more than five stars.!! This sugar factory is so close to the O'Hare airport literally five minutes away and there's so much to do around here you have bowling. There's a skating rink during the winter. They do live music during the summer. It's a really good atmosphere where this restaurant is located.

Yelp
Really great atmosphere, great design of the space with cute photo spots. Menu was like Cheesecake Factory's. Lots to choose from - more alcoholic drink options than anything. But, the drinks and food were just okay and it was really pricey given what was served. Service was a bit slow and not super friendly. Cute to experience but I would not return.

Yelp
Service: 10/10 Staff is friendly, always checks up to make sure we like our food. Food arrived in 10-20 mins. Staff took pics of us, printed it out, and put it in a frame! So cute! Ambiance: 10/10 Feels like ur walking into a club each time! There are so many pics of celebrities on the wall. So many strobe lights and chandeliers. Most of all, when it's ur bday, the DJ plays a song for you and you get a huge sparkler candle with your dessert! Food: 9/10 The sliders were cute, juicy and tender. The loaded fries were huge and savory. The fettuccine Alfredo was creamy, and dyed red for Halloween! The sundae came with 5 scoops of ice cream, bread, and brownies! It was very sweet and could be shared among 4-6 people.

Yelp
Hey Yelp, we're at it again! For his birthday celebration, Ryan's first choice was The Sugar Factory--and that's saying a lot for such a picky kid. He couldn't stop talking about the amazing staff, the super cool drinks, and the friendly vibe. Nothing else would do, so The Sugar Factory it is. Let's make it a celebration to remember, Yelp!

Yelp
This place is over the top with their drinks and desserts. Perfect for people who love sugar. We had the Nutella and banana shake and the rainbow shake. The kids loved both. We also had the flaming Cheetos burger and signature burger, fish and chips, quesadillas, and French onion soup. Everyone enjoyed their food. Definitely a place for birthday celebrations. There is also a candy shop when you first enter the restaurant.

Paul G.

Yelp
20% service fee. Slow staff. Water was awful. Fireworks birthday candles. $45 fishbowl drinks - before the service fee. Decor like Farrells / Willy Wonka but not worth the service fee. So slow we left and went to Bub City Club next door. That should say it all. Hard pass.
google avatar

Yelp
Food is overly processed and priced. Service is slow and just an annoying way to end a meal in a crowded and noisy sensory overload of a place.

Yelp
Saturday lunch was a blast ! 2 adults and 3 kids! We ordered enough food to feed 10 people! We had no idea that the portions were so generous. The kids had the colored pancakes with 2 sides of bacon. They really liked them and even though they were 3, couldn't finish them. I had the blue cheese bacon burger. So far the best burger I've had in a while. I couldn't finish it. The other adult had the tomato bisque , which was delicious and the surf burger , also great. Overall , we had a lot of fun , the atmosphere was great, friendly staff and clean. We went in knowing that it's an expensive restaurant, so we were not surprised by the bill. It was a great experience!

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a rainy Sunday. Managed to get parking right in front where there's a 2 hour parking limit. I made reservations beforehand for 11:30, party of 6. Checking in at 11:20, there was hardly anyone dining - perhaps it was the rain? In any case, we were seated right away and told we had a 2 hour time limit and 20% was automatically added to our check, regardless of size of the party. Appreciated knowing this ahead of time. The menu is extensive and the print is tiny (bad day to forget my readers at home), but with the help of hubs and friends I figured out what I wanted. This is not the place if you are looking for a healthy meal, hence Sugar Factory. We had 2 burgers - one was dry, medium well and pasty while the other was a little more moist, but still cooked medium well. There was no option on how to have the burger prepared. Hubs ordered the hanger steak and eggs. Pretty standard, nothing wow about it. I ordered the chicken and waffles, it was gigantic! Came with 4 waffles and half a chicken for $30. I got what I paid for. The chicken was hot and juicy. The waffles were a little mushy and buttered for me. I was expecting crispy waffles to go with the chicken. It was pretty good. Another friend ordered the strawberry waffles which was covered in a strawberry sauce with strawberries, though there pieces of strawberries we think they are standard thawed strawberry sauce that goes in sundaes. My son ordered the Oreo waffle and it was a huge plate that came with fried waffles and ice cream. It looked good and he could barely finish it. Overall, it was a splurge and some dishes were better than others. I don't think we will be returning. The music was loud since the place wasn't busy. Our server was nice and checked back a few times.

Yelp
We had a nice experience overall. But the service wasn't the best. When we arrived, we were asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. When we said outside, they were surprised and made a show out of being inconvenienced. After being told we'd have to wait, we said indoors would be fine. I understand if you need to close the section, but then don't offer. There was confusion over which server was overseeing our table. We had two different servers try to take it. 3/4 of the way through our meal, our server went on break, and we ended up back with the original server. They get you with a mandatory 20% tip, which is what I would have tipped anyway. But by guaranteeing the tip, the servers feel no incentive to provide good service. The food was good, but overpriced. While the milkshakes were large and glamorous, the entrees was actually pretty basic. It was good, but didn't match what we'd seen advertised. Entree portions were normal sized, despite the price. For the price, you could have a 5 star meal somewhere else. Fun for a one time special occasion, but not somewhere I'd go regularly. PS there is no problem with their air conditioning. 90+ degrees out, but it was COLD inside.

Yelp
Finally a place for millionaires to eat and drink. Oh HEXX NO!!! Call me cheap all you want but, this place will never get my money!!! I'M thinking it's put on Earth to "punk" us honestly!!! Where's Ashton??? (Looking around) ha ha My pal and I stopped here to grab din din. Although, the staff were nice, the prices were mean and bullying!!! Sheesh!!! Lmao Ok so, I figured that I'd purchase at least something from here so, I sought out to purchase my world famous sour ball candy, since the food menu prices were hideaway hideous....NOPE... think again. They don't offer the candy bags that are offered at most places that sell candy in bulk buy, but, instead... you have to purchase a tin to get candy in, which, the tin weighing about 5lbs itself cost $17.99 a lb...AGAIN, GET OUT!!! ‍ ‍ ‍ SMH We opted to take photos instead ...checking for a price tag on that, before taking em ...Lmao jk IDK about yall but; my pockets were pulling us outta here. Lol I'll only go again, if taken out to eat here. (Hint) THIS PLACE is above my pay grade in my funtivities account, and again, idc what yall think, unless yall adding to my funtivities account. Lol RESPECTFULLY (Watch someone goes here and brag now) Lmao. .. DO YOU BOO BOO Sheesh, slap me once and call me cheap... (on the hand though)! Go ahead and go though... no judgement from me richy rich No further comments on that subject Hi to the nice staff who laughed at our reactions, but agreeing wth is, just to be nice but... who probably felt our pain too. Great location with free 2hr parking . Eat fast!

Yelp
Overpriced on most of their food and drinks. Also the mandatory 20% service charge is ridiculous.

Yelp
I went to dinner with my grandson on SATURDAY December 21th! At HEIGHT of the holiday season. To say the place was beautifully decorated is an understatement. The restaurant was so pretty. The Staff is great. And they don't need to be, because their tip is already factored into the bill. They are getting cheated in my opinion and NOT getting paid their value. So throw a few extra dollars at them if you can. It's a rough job! Of course the desserts are the star of the show but the food is high quality as well. I have never been disappointed in a meal. Is it expensive? It sure is. Is it worth it? It sure is, for a special occasion. $24 isn't the price I would pay for an average milkshake but of course this isn't an average milkshake. We ordered the Cookie Monster, it comes with a very LARGE chocolate chip cookie, donut AND a cupcake ALL decorated just like Cookie Monster! So cute! There was also a holiday menu with seasonal food & desserts. I suggest if the opportunity presents itself, give the Sugar Factory in Rosemont a try.

Yelp
This review is on the candy store and not dining in at the restaurant. The shop is very clean and bright, there is a lot of light which brings out how colorful this place is. CANDY EVERYWHERE haha, walls, counters, etc. there are also spots to take photo ops, it's super cute here. There are a lot of options for candy and I can almost guarantee they have whatever you are looking for. I personally love chocolate and there a lot of choices for that, yummy! Staff was friendly and explained how to go about purchasing. She did not stand around me while I was looking around. It's a pet peeve of mine when staff hovers so thank you for not doing that!

Yasmine S.

Yelp
The quality of their food does not match the price. Extremely overpriced for mediocre food. Waffles came cold, chicken bland, pasta no flavor, pancakes just nasty. Place just not worth it and I will never go back

Yelp
#8 for 2022 There is a lot happening in here. We entered into the candy store first. Bright colored candies grabbing your attention for you dollars. Best to hand on to it tight because this place is not cheap. But, we were here for the experience as our friends said we should try it at least once. And once we did. Stepping into the parlour area felt like I was walking into a updated modernized Farrels with a huge alcoholic bar and dance floor complete with disco ball. Definitely not for kids. And to prove it there was not a kid's menu either. There were food options for burgers and breakfast plates. We came for the sweet stuff. The menu was daunting figuring out what to get. Would've ordered multiple items but they were all super gigantic portions. I decided to go with the $21 Giggles Snickers Milkshake. Cookies and cream ice cream blended with toasted peanuts, topped with a caramel waffle, snickers, whip cream and sprinkles severed in a chocolate covered mug of snicker pieces and rainbow sprinkles. Totally decadent. The shake went down fast. There really wasn't much in there. Not that thick but super sweet. The $20 Chocolate Mudslide Martini did deliver its' sweetness. A creamy blend of vodka with Kahlua and Bailey's Irish Cream. Garnished with chocolate drizzle, chocolate rim and dark chocolate shavings. For $14 the Chocolate shake may be the best deal. Melted chocolate sauce blended with chocolate ice for a thick richness. Add whip cream and chocolate shavings to garnish. I just wish it didn't go down that fact. Service was almost non existent. We came in at 3pm with hardly anyone there. Had to call for almost everything. Although I did enjoy the experience I don't think I will be back unless I am coerced by my colleagues who may want to come for the experience.

Yelp
BEWARE of Amanda: I ordered shrimp stir fry, they brought chicken stir fry and the rude manager, (Amanda), argued with me and refused to bring what I ordered. It's too bad, it would be such a great place if they had better management.

Carolyn K.

Yelp
The food was absolutely terrible! We ordered the super cheesy smash burgers. These were actual burgers, not smash burgers, and the patties were like hockey pucks and the cheese was cold. The drinks are $45 a piece and taste like straight up lemonade. The service was slow and our waitress was not great. Overall a pretty bad very expensive experience. Will definitely not be back!

Yelp
Good experience at this location. Was iffy because of the reviews. Booked a date night in advance because the wait times to get in are usually long. Waited about 10 minutes before we got seated. Waited another 10 to be helped by waiter. Ordered food and drinks. Took a little which was understanding because it was busy and a Friday night. Sugar Factory Signature Burger- 7/10, not bad at all for a place mainly about sugar. Had the flavors and fries were also very good with burger Cali Veggie Burger- 8/10, first time trying veggie patty and wow i'm a fan. Coming from a place like this and they're reviews I was surprised. Ketchup helped a little, flavors were good overall, swiss looked odd but it's okay. Bun was good but really thick which I wasn't a fan of. Fries were also very good. Virgin Strawberry Cadillac Goblet- 7/10, worth the money? No. Going there for a one time thing? Yea get it why not. Very sour candy, aesthetic is nice, drink itself was good but at points it was overly sweet. Still had leftover between two people. Included check...expensive

Yelp
Fun little trendy franchise where celebrities will come and do promotions. Good birthday spot especially for kids. It's definitely a sugar land. The drinks are cute, trendy, and memorable and very photo worthy. Staff is friendly.

Yelp
I have never been to the sugar factory, so you can imagine my excitement to finally try this place out. Unfortunately, my experience was underwhelming to say the least. I was with a party of 4, and we only had a 15 minute wait to be seated. The table they gave us was not enough to comfortably sit 4 people. On top of appetizers and fitting everyone's food on the table there just wasn't enough space. I had to put some of my personal items on the floor in order to make room. The presentation of the food here is phenomenal! With that being said, the actual food itself is mediocre. I ordered the carne asada tacos with a strawberry milkshake. As soon as I took a bite out of my taco, I was instantly filled with regret and wished I ordered one of the burgers instead. The tacos were dry and bland. The milkshake was disappointing, it tasted like something I could make at home. It had that strong strawberry sauce taste, like the one Nestle has to make strawberry milk. Yes, that one... I absolutely hate that taste. I asked my friends how their burger tasted and they weren't that impressed as well. Our server was nice and the service itself was fast, the food came out in a timely manner. Overall, I'm glad I finally got the experience to try out the sugar factory, but with that being said I don't think the food was worth the hype! I don't see myself running to come back here!
google avatar

Jade Liza T.

Yelp
Food was not good, it looks good. I say it's like a bunch of ingredients put together to make a menu. I am disappointed. It's quite expensive too. We had the chicken waffles, chicken stir fry, steak frites , steak sandwich, the chips for the artichoke dips were stale. You know when they are not fresh. The sampler appetizers were better and at least the drinks Ice coffee shakes were good and instagramable. Our server was also great at least. This is not my 1st time eating here. One was at the downtown location . I was disappointed and having to spend almost $400. At least I enjoyed we enjoyed our drinks. Hopefully, they will improve.
google avatar

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Me and my friends went here for dessert . We ended up getting appetizers and we each got a dessert . It was 8:00 on a Saturday night . It was busy so I was glad I made a reservation, which was ready when we got there . Our waitress was great , they add 20% to the bill automatically so we were glad our service was great . The food was great and the desserts were even better . It's a bit pricey , not a place we would go to every weekend but definitely great for appetizers and desserts . We all had a great time , only negative thing I could think of is that our table was under a speaker . When someone orders the $100 sundae , they bring it out w sparklers going and the staff comes out clapping and they turn the music up LOUD !!! We had to close our ears bc it was piercing loud but they lower it back down after the bring it to the table . Would definitely plan another girls dessert night there for sure .

Yelp
Haven't been to The Sugar Factory in probably like over 6/7 years and honestly I did not think it still was a "thing." Fast forward 5 years and my daughter is turning 12 and wanted to celebrate her bday here, so here we are. In my opinion it's a celebration spot, primarily for birthdays, especially if you have kids/tween/teenager. They love the smoky gigantic sugary drinks and sparklers on their dessert as you sing happy birthday and I get it. The perfect spot for a social media picture, and that's about where it stops. The food is Meh, and it's probably because their brand is not food, it's the over the top desserts and decorated craft drinks, everything sugar. I would not come here expecting 5 star food dishes or heck even 4. The food is on the same level as your typical all American food restaurants, like a Chili's or Applebee's, not bad but nothing to make a special trip back for. My watermelon martini was $20 and I make a better one at home. Service was Ok, ambiance/vibe is nice and the music was a 10. Bill was $300 for 5 people, with one alcohol drink and one non alcoholic goblet, which was $43. If you want a cool photo op with a big decorated smoky drink or a big firework style sparkler in your dessert this is your spot, oh and one more thing, do not forget a pair of readers because their menu print is so tiny and in like 6 point font and hard to read.

Yelp
After reading many reviews on here I was hesitate but so happy we kept our reservation . I actually had 2 separate reservations for 2 tables of 6, and they were able to seat us all together and we didn't wait long at all. Frankie was our server and he was fabulous. He was super fast with getting orders in for our 8 children. The bowl fish drink is super sweet and for almost $40 it's insanity. Def not worth it, it's just a Instagram pic or novelty item. Was bummed that you couldn't take home the plastic cup it arrived in, come on for that price... it's basically juice with dry ice hahaha. The kids love it though. Wouldn't get it again though for that price. The colorful sliders were great. The milkshakes delicious and so fun, recommend ordering those for the kiddos. The signature burger was over cooked but with the service and the kids having a blast made up for it. It's expensive but a fun treat once in a while. Thank you Frankie for the great service

Yelp
Horrible service! Wife ordered just a plain burger without a bun. They couldn't get that right after 2 attempts so they just pulled the ****ing bun off and brought it back out! Guess there are no literacy requirements. Anyways... come here if you want to pay a lot of money for dumpster diving level of food. Cheers!

Yelp
I was very excited from the moment we walked in as the atmosphere seemed to have a fun vibe as you walk into a candy store. We were greeted for our reservation and promptly reminded that there was a two hour dining limit, which made me feel like they want to turn your table fast, so you eat, get the f out, and they can serve the next guest, which was funny because it was not that busy at all. As we sat down, it took a while to get a server, order drinks, and so forth. I kept thinking how our dining time kept winding down as we still have not gotten drink orders or our food. Once our drink order came, our kids milk didn't come out until we were almost ready to leave after we had to remind the server several times. Also, once the food came out for everyone, I still had to wait about 5 minutes for my food to come out while everyone was eating, so needless to say, service had a lot left to be desired, especially when they add a mandatory 20% tip to all orders regardless of party size. That's a good way to not incentivize good service from the wait staff. I believe in tipping, but the tip amount should be earned based on service, not mandated. The food was not that impressive. My steak was bland and fries were not seasoned. In the menu, it says that it comes with fries plus a side, but server said a side is extra, so even their menu is wrong for really disappointed as this place had a lot of potential. I can't believe they have pictures of all of these celebrities eating there, because I don't even think it would be up to my dog's standards. He wouldn't want to wait that long for service or his food.

Yelp
I had fun at this restaurant. We came here for a birthday, and at the same time an outdoor free concert was occurring right outside the restaurant. As a result, we had the opportunity to enjoy food and a Bee Gees concert at the same time! We were seated immediately, even though we did not have reservations. The waitstaff was great and attentive! The food came quickly. The serving size was huge. I took a lot of food home with me.
google avatar

XiaoYan A.

Yelp
Interesting concept and definitely come here for an experience (rather than the food.) I think it's place you come here either for food or dessert - if you want to do both, that's a LOT! The overall vibe is nice - it seems to be good place for celebration. They'd dim the whole dining area and bring out the dessert. Interesting menu - more fun to look probably than eating. The food we ordered were decent but definitely higher price judging by the food alone. Service is good but a 20% service fee is imposed.

Sara N.

Yelp
Service is terrible. Do not even bother making a reservation as they do not honor reservations and just seat people as they come in the door.

Orlando C.

Yelp
It's a bit pricey. We Just went Jan 2025 and prices went up again $1-3 per item. The food is good quality and was cooked perfectly. I went to Vegas and had a ribeye that was much better than some of the expensive steakhouses.
google avatar

Paula K.

Yelp
Fun, Fun, Fun! We had a great time shopping in the candy shop - so many choices! Sweet! Some of the candy is retro, so you may find something that you liked as a child. Fill up a container, they weight it and enjoy your treats! Getting to this shop was awkward, there is an entrance through the parking deck. We drove around twice trying to figure out how to park close. Lol

Angela T.

Yelp
We went for a very non-traditional retirement party here. The vibe was absolutely perfect! Fun, yummy and very sweet. The sliders were not only colorful, but super-delicious. Our vegan guests were also very happy.

Yelp
Stopped by for desserts during a Rosemont Parkway Park concert during one of the summer nights. Ambiance = 5/5 Photo ops, colorful, happy. It really does want to make you eat sweets. Service = 3/5 Due to long lines waiting for a table, we got our shakes "to go" from the ice cream shop. Staff were not rude, but not friendly either. Just right. Prices of items (ice cream and shakes) were not posted anywhere so we appreciated them warning us that the shake we were about to but was $15. This is where the -3 stars came in. The shakes were about 16 oz. You can see it being prepared and it is just ice cream being blended. $15 was robbery! I would say it should be $5 at best. However, since this is Sugar Factory, it was overpriced. NEVER AGAIN. Overpriced for mediocre food.

Yelp
We dined here for a Sunday birthday dinner. It was our first time here. Our server was very friendly, courteous and knowledgable. (I don't mind paying an automatic 20% service charge if all servers were like him). Managers were checking up on tables to make sure we are got everything we needed. Food arrived timely and was cooked nicely as directed. Bussers took our finished plates quickly. The rainbow sliders were cute and the drink gobblers was fun to see. We enjoyed the music, too. This restaurant is in a touristy area so I expected a higher price point. Only less desireable thing I can think of is that hostesses aren't as friendly or nice as the staff in the dining area. They were not rude or anything, just not friendly. There were four of them there managing the host stand and also acting as cashiers to the retail area. Overall it's a fun restaurant to go to and somewhere you can bring the kids.

Yelp
We wandered through here while staying at a hotel nearby and visited the candy shop. I didn't even know there was a restaurant until reading through some other reviews just now. Anyway, it's a cute candy land with just about every nostalgic candy you can think of, and a few variations of your standard candy store list. I thought the packaging you get for your bulk candy was adorable, but I can agree that the prices are not. $18 a pound is a lot for bulk candy that's not entirely specialty, in my opinion. Some of the candy is difficult to get out of the bulk containers. There was also a good amount of varieties that were empty or just not there. It's definitely worth a stop for pictures or take-home treats if you are visiting the area. I realize we are visiting from Michigan, so I expected higher prices everywhere.

Yelp
I've been here a few times but it's been a few years. Parking is adequate since there is a parking garage and you just walk out into the restaurant area. I tried calling several times prior to the reservation since i tried booking on line and could not book more than 6 people and we need a reservation for 8. I decided to book for 6 and still go since we had left a message and called multiple times with no response. When we got the i explained it to the young lady at the door she was nice and said she was working by herself and would still accommodate the party of 8. The atmosphere is nice and cozy and the staff was great! James P was our server and he was friendly and very attentive. For appetizer we had the hot wings and spinach dip which both were good. I just had the signature burger which was decent. My son who's birthday we were there for had the hot Cheetos burger which looked disgusting to me and i don't think he liked it because he barely ate it and he eats.. The kids love the big dry ice drinks. They are cool and instagramable but super expensive ($35)for juice but we got it anyway. The birthday dessert is offered with a sparkler that they charge you $5 dollar for and you don't keep it. Which is interesting but ok i guess. So I would say it's worth a try if you never been but not a frequent visit type of place. The menu is not with too many options just basic things. Of course as you leave out your passing by the candy store. Definitely a cute concept!

Yelp
Called to request a table and they were booked. We ended up going in person to hold a reservation. They said the wait was an hour and a half, but we ended up getting a table within 10 minutes. Our waitress was really nice but the hostesses weren't the greatest with greetings. Great place to celebrate with friends for their birthday. They celebrate with loud music and fun fireworks in the ice cream boat. Their drinks come in big bowls or martini glasses. There is plenty of drinks to choose from, some can come with or without alcohol. They're fun to go through with flavors and the dry ice. Presentations were great! Fun spot to go to. Their salad was really good as well. Would come again for celebrations.

Yelp
Sugar Factory is a very instagrammable spot, but don't go there for the food. The food is overpriced and mediocre. I had the rainbow sliders, which were adorable and came with a Sugar Factory rubber duck to take home, but the buns were dry and the sliders were so well done with no taste... for $22! Their goblet drinks and milkshakes look awesome but also have a hefty price tag. Service is okay. This would be a cute place for little kids that want the atmosphere and the candy shop, but I wouldn't stop back here again unless it was a special occasion that someone else really wanted to go here for.

Yelp
Four of us arrived on a hot Thursday night mainly for Radio Gaga, awesome Queen/Gaga tribute. Surprised that we got seated pretty quick outside. Prices are a little high but overall everything was very good. My girls ordered hot fried chicken and waffles and super cheesy burger. I was impressed the large fried chicken breast was cooked perfectly and still steamy later when I broke it open. Bun and burger were covered in cheese sauce. Jess said it was the best burger ever! My mom and I split chicken quesadillas which were good. Later S'mores and mango milkshakes were great. They want to go back! Neat place but be prepared to spend... fantastic for birthdays

Yelp
The food was good and the service was attentive. Since it is a well known eatery, expect high prices. Would recommend for a special occasion, not every day dining.

Yelp
We didn't spend a lot of time here. We basically wanted to get dessert after eating at Crust Brewery. It's a cool looking place, very colorful and eye catching. We thought what better place to go than a place called the sugar factory. Yes the prices are outrageous. This is definitely a special occasion place, that being said if you are just going for coffee and dessert it's not bad. We ordered the chocolate fondue and it easily fed the three of us, probably could have even had a forth join us. We were tempted to get one of their giant crazy looking drinks, but for $35.00 a pop we decided against it. Maybe next time. I am giving it two stars because the host was incredibly rude. I felt that way she treated us, she didn't want to actually seat us. She started off telling us it's a two hour time limit. I told her that's fine we are just here for dessert. Then she said, and there is a 22% service charge automatically on the bill. I again said that's fine, then she repeated herself, "Did you hear me? There is a 22% service charge added to the bill?" Yeah I heard you, can we get a table please. She was so rude. On the other hand, our server was above and beyond nice and welcoming! He turned the experience around for us, and instead of making us feel like we were not welcome, he made us feel like we were his top guests. I would go back only because of his service.

Yelp
This place is so overpriced for very mid quality food, drinks, and vibes. I paid $32 for ONE alcoholic drink. I can get double that in the best registrants in downtown Chicago. Absolutely wild

Yelp
Sugar rush! Everything is so pretty and I want to eat everything!!!!! Pricey but very unique! Love the theme and the overall experience. This location has a quaint but fun atmosphere. There are a lot of restaurants to choose from for food and a part that circles the businesses. Definitely a fun place away from crazy huddle and bustle daily life in the big city. Fun for family and small groups too.

Yelp
I give two stars because the service was not that great. Our waiter was gone for a long time and we didn't get our check after 15-20 min of waiting... The portions here are HUGE. It's a good place to share desserts among groups of 4 or more. We had the strawberry cheesecake sundae and we only put a dent in it. It was a waste of money too because we couldn't take it home as leftovers since the ice cream already melted.

Yelp
Omg had no idea about Sugar Factory till now. I've been all around the world as a flight attendant and my first time here at Chicago's Sugar. This place is amazing and had no idea it was so close to our hotel. Love it love it love it. Come see Alex and Jordan, they are the best. Thank y'all so much for being so courteous and sweet to us. Now we wanna visit the other Sugars

Will come back for the drinks! The food was just ok. Definitely a cool place to bring a person of all ages.

Yelp
I was here with some close friends to celebrate a birthday that fell during the middle of the week. We made a reservation that ended up being cut down a couple people. Not going to lie, we were also pushing it close to our time and may have been a couple minutes late. However, the staff was very accommodating and were super friendly! It wasn't too too busy when we arrived but it soon picked up after we were seated. The food and beverage options are definitely over the top and are made with flair for a party environment. The ambiance is loud and fun and is always a good time! I will say that it is on the pricier side of things for standard American fare with a twist. But the energetic staff and environment make up for it and is worth the extra $ on the scale. The entire location is made for the "perfect shot" whether it be an alcoholic drink or the Instagram worthy menu item. (I'd recommend a ring light because the mood lighting can definitely make or break a picture!)

Yelp
We ordered the basic. This was for 3 people and we weren't full at all. This is the chicken Alfredo, the rainbow burgers, an additional bucket of fries, and the club sandwiches with two drinks. Our total came out to be over $200 on a Saturday night. The service was fine but why spend so much money on mediocre food? 10/10 would not visit sugar factory again.
