So I decided to take my now 10 year old son to The Sugar Factory in Times Square after he saw that his friend went there for her 10th birthday recently. I immediately made the reservation for three. I have been to The Sugar Factory once many years ago in Queens New York, so it was nice to see upon walking that there is a location in the city.
Upon entering, we were greeted and waited about 10 minutes to be seated upstairs in their two story establishment. The ambience is beautiful. It was decked out in Valentine's Day decor. We sat down, got comfortable and was handed our menus. I must say that the menu was quite overwhelming to say the least. There's so many options to choose from it gets a little frustrating, trying to choose something to eat.
Our waiter Dean with the nice smile :) was very attentive knowledgeable, and helpful. He took our orders and put them in the system. For starters we got the mozzarella sticks and guacamole with multicolor chips. Both were delicious but the mozzarella sticks takes the win comparing it to other places I've been to recently this one came out hot and you definitely got the cheese pull as a mozzarella stick should do.
My son ordered The Big Cheesy which he devoured. I did not know that the burger had mac & cheese inside until I cut it open. He was ecstatic lol I got the Chicken Piccata which was everything and more and my mom got the Chicken Penne Alfredo, which in her opinion was just OK.
For our drinks, my son wanted their S'more's Milkshake which was MASSIVE yet delicious. I got myself the Coconut Margarita, and my mom ordered an Amaretto Sour and for the experience I got a Watermelon drink I don't recall the name and like I said the menu is extremely huge I can't pinpoint which drink it actually is but I got the non alcoholic one which cost $30 and with alcohol would be $40 so my son and mom could try it and as my mom said it tasted like a watermelon, jolly rancher with some fizz.
So to conclude my review, I do recommend this place, but there are two cons for me. One being it is a bit pricey and two I did not like the fact that while we were eating our appetizers, there was a woman who stopped by our table to ask us if we wanted to take pictures I did not decline it because I knew it was my son's birthday and he only turns 10 once so we all had to stop eating and prepare to take a couple pictures. The pictures are $25 each and it does come in a nice frame. Now I think you guys should keep this in mind if pictures are going to be taken please ask the customers before any of their food shows up. Cheers to good eats :)
