Bars and Nightlife in Miami

"The best way to experience the magic of Sugar without blowing your entire vacation budget is to come here about 20 minutes before sunset. You’ll see the spectacular view of the sun setting over the Everglades and the twilight colors reflecting against the glass skyline. Then, as the sun goes down, you’ll see Miami turn into a city of lights – all in the time it takes to have two drinks. Which will still set you back about $35 but won’t give you sticker shock like it might if you hung around longer." - MATADOR_NETWORK

20 Spots to Get an Excellent Cocktail in the Bay Area This Summer | Eater

"While the elegant interior of this Hayes Valley bar is a dark, moody home for cocktails and jazz, it has made the most of its street front, too. Its sheltered, heated outdoor space is an ideal gathering place for small groups, especially on weekends, with Hayes Street closed to traffic. Order a round of Strawberry Blondes and take in the parade of people-watching." - Vox Creative

Posh vibes, chill crowd. The space is sleek, intimate, and effortlessly cool. Service? Top-tier..fast, friendly, and on point. Bonus: the jukebox is retro-styled with modern tech and a killer sound. Sugar Lounge nails the balance between classy and laid-back.

This is my go to bar after those hard days at work. Great bartenders and their happy hour is unbeatable. Everyone should go here. I haven't had any food here (not even sure if they offer any) but there are snacks.

Friend had his sunglasses stolen. Bouncer found them and left them on the bench. Instead of turning them to the bartender. One star. If you value you valuables don’t come here. Drinks average, snacks good. But if you’re out $350 I feel like the decision is easy, go to Hazies where it’s safer and the bouncer can make better decisions.

Came in on a Sunday night. There were people but it wasn't super crowded. I ordered a richmond gimlet, my friend ordered a chocolate man-tini. Her drink was made second and had pieces of mint in it. I complained and the bartender laughed and brushed me off saying "oh, those are pieces of mint from the other drink. My bad, happens sometimes." Didn't offer to fix it, didn't acknowledge that it was gross that he hadn't properly washed out the tin, plus allergy worries. Makes me wonder about the quality and cleanliness of anything else from that bartender. I did enjoy my drink and the vibes of the bar, but that experience really rubbed me the wrong way. Edit: The manager reached out and was extremely understanding and accomidating. He ensured my future experiences here would be much more positive!

Ahhh I felt like I was in a thriving city in a swanky lounge for drinks and getting dolled up felt nice. San Francisco can be super laid back for drinking. I approve of this place being a former big city gal from Texas. Service was great and drinks were tasty! Mezcal Paloma was my favorite!

Google
The drinks were so good that we ordered a (not pictured) third round. The fresh garnish on each drink was such a pleasant surprise. Not sure why people are upset there's no food. It's a bar, not a restaurant. The regular and Halloween decorations were so cute. Definitely coming back next time I'm in the neighborhood.

Google
fun little cocktail bar. great vibes on a friday night. very cool decor and good drinks. cocktails aren’t out of this world but a great standard and reliable martini. come here to have a drink if linden room is too packed. worth checking out if you’re on a mini bar crawl. beer or cocktails work here. go for the vibe.

Had my sunglasses stolen here. Solid drinks, but sadly no common sense to leave them with the bartender. I’m out $300 so unfortunately won’t come back and it’s rated 1 star in my book.

Yelp
Well overdue to update my review! If I could, all I'd say is: 6/5 stars. Only notes: strawberry margs on Friday! Pro tip: grab food from Arbor (curly fries + vegan 'burger') or Hayz Dog (The Flukey) across the street. But Yelp loves some details, so: Sugar will 5ever be my favorite bar for Friday nights thanks to the strawberry margaritas -- flavor AND price cannot be beat. Yes, it's a real strawberry puree. No, it's not too sweet. Yes, they are incredibly strong/dangerous. Service is great. They've recently-ish edited how the bar service area is set up, which helps with flow of ordering and knowing where to stand ~in line~ even if it's your first time. They also recently installed one of those new fangled jukebox app majiggers, so for a few dollars and sometimes some patience, you can set the playlist! Low lighting inside, with Christmas ornaments hanging from the ceiling, low couches that are easy to get stuck in if you sit too far back (lol), glowing cocktail tables, bar stool around the bar, and a handful of high top tables/chairs along the east side wall opposite the bar. I love their parklet, which recently got a makeover -- super sturdy floor, extended roof, more room for seats and a nice lil ledge along the side without tables to set drinks. From a mellow weeknight Halloween, to enjoying people watching after Bill Graham concerts end, celebrating birthdays, and many many more "sure, why not!?" occasions... I can roll into Sugar wearing sweats and hair that needs washing OR after a super fancy dinner + symphony show because all are welcome any day, any time.

Yelp
Sugar Lounge is hands down my all-time favorite bar. It's got that perfect mix of intimate and cozy, with a low-key vibe that makes you want to stay all night. The inside is moody and inviting, and there's a chill little back area that's great for small groups or date night hangs. The drinks are sweet and creative, the staff is flirty and fun, and they even serve candy with your cocktails -- how cute is that?! If you're looking for a spot that's effortlessly cool without being overhyped, Sugar Lounge is the one.

Yelp
I came here a bunch of times before and had a good experience each time. The bar staff were nice and friendly, the place had music playing and when there's a big game, it is shown on the tvs, the drinks were indeed quite sugary and satisfies my sweet tooth. There's also snacks (a plus)! There is also a jukebox if you want to play some tunes, but I wouldn't recommend it during a big game.

Yelp
I went here with some coworkers to celebrate being doing with grad school. Immediately when I walked in and I noticed the candy/snack tower. A great treat to have especially after drinking. I ordered the Chocolate Man-Tini. To me the drink was not very sweet I tasted more alcohol than sweet so be mindful of that If that's is something you are looking for. Nonetheless the drink was still good! I would come back again and have recommended the spot for other coworkers who said they went and loved their experience there.

Yelp
This is a great bar in a neighborhood of great restaurants and wonderful things to do (symphony, opera, ballet, etc.). While the ambiance at Sugar Lounge is really nice, it's the bartenders that really define this place. Each has been extremely welcoming in his or her own way. Every time we visit the Hayes Valley area, we have to visit this place!

Yelp
I like go to the events at the Nourse theater, usually it's someone interesting speaking. (now it's called The Sydney Goldstein Theater, I struggle to update it in my head). Anyway the point is after the event it's nice to grab a drink and discuss the event and Sugar is the only place to go IMHO. Upbeat energy, good outdoor patio, wide array of drinks and OK prices. I go in, get drinks, take them outside, and chat in the parklet. Repeat as necessary.

Yelp
Date: Saturday, September 14th, 2024 Time: around 12am Party of: 2 What: After Dinner Drinks After my last bday dinner, my friend suggested checking out Sugar Lounge. I've never been here, so I figured why not?! It was rather crowded when we arrived, but we managed to order our drinks at the bar and find a high top for two against the wall. I got a manhattan while my friend got either a mocktail or some kind of non alcoholic drink. (He was the DD that night.) My cocktail was nice. Spirit forward which is my thing. But not so much that it wasn't balanced. We were here for a good hour and a half. I actually ended up befriending a dog that was hanging out by our table. I'm a sucker for big dogs. And he was so sweet and chill. Fun vibe. Good music. Nice spot to grab a cocktail. REVIEW #3561

Yelp
The place was a bit packed on a Thursday afternoon during happy hour, and it's not a surprise why. The decor and furnishings created a lovely and inviting setting, even the lighting in the bar and lounge added to the appeal. And of course, can't beat the happy hour cocktail specials. The $5 lemon drop spritz was a generous serving of a delicious and satisfying concoction. And we absolutely enjoyed the chocolate man-tini and richmond gimlet too, which were made well, strong and tasty. As we sat at the bar, the staff made us feel welcome and provided professional and friendly service. We had a great time here and would definitely return to try more items on their menu.
google avatar

Sheridan M.

Yelp
I love the variety of cocktails at this bar, and thought the daily specials were very cute. Since it was a Friday, we all got the $8 strawberry margaritas. Pretty sure they were made with a strawberry puree as there were seeds instead of a syrup. They were mostly tequila but we were having fun anyway. The bar was cushy, and we scored a sofa to sit and chat on. Good music taste as well. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots to stop for a drink in Hayes Valley. If you are waiting for a table at one of the nearby restaurant or just want to hang with some friends it's a mellow spot with a solid drink selection. Prices are reasonable and the bartenders are always super friendly. I always feel like they enjoy working there and speaking with the customers which gives it a more local vibe. It can get a bit loud as the night progresses but no different than any other small bar in SF.
google avatar

Xandra A.

Yelp
Visiting from Alaska, ended up wandering into this cozy, moodlit, and very welcoming bar. What a great decision! Witnessed the regulars giving one of the bartenders endless loving flak for "transforming" with a surprise haircut. I can feel the love in here. Cozy seating, special recipe drinks with personality, and very happy embibers. Thank you fellas -the random chick in way too much sequins hiding in the back corner just observing and listening to a great playlist.

Yelp
Came here spontaneously after dinner. Love the vibes and not sure why they have such low ratings. Anyway, I started off ordering the drunken sailor. It was okay. We then ordered vodka shots which were terrible lol but they did the trick. Overall had a great time here and will definitely be back
google avatar

Christian M.

Yelp
Randomly stumbled upon this hidden gem out of no where. It's a decent size bar with barstools and table tops. They also have some couches for larger groups. I ordered a vodka soda and my wife got a champagne drink. Mine was very strong, which is always good of course and my wife's drinking was tasty. I enjoyed the what seemed like "local" like feel to it. The bartenders were friendly and very attentive. Even offering some crackerjacks. I'll be back to have drinks again.

Yelp
The Sugar Lounge is a cute bar/lounge in Hayes. It's in a great area surrounded by a lot of other bars and restaurants, so if you happen to be waiting for a table at another restaurant in the area (as I was last night), Sugar Lounge is a nice place to stop by. At 7:30pm on Thursday night, it was easy to get a table for a group for a group of 5. I came just in time for their Happy Hour (4-7:30pm), and tried their $5 lemon spritz which was the drink of the day. It tasted like a fresh spiked lemonade, and was actually really strong for a cheap drink! I loved the ambiance of this place, might not be for everyone but the coziness and Christmas decor was so homey! Will plan to come here again next time I'm in Hayes.

Yelp
My go to spot for a drink before a show at Rickshaw stop. Cocktails are great and they have comfortable couch seating in the front. It can get a little busy so sometimes you have to wait for a drink at the bar.

Yelp
Got roofied here. I noticed my beer tasted weird, sour/bitter for a beer that should not have been. I finished it because I don't like to return drinks or waste money. I just assumed it was the end of the keg or something. This happened in September 2019, but reading a Reddit post recently about someone else who got roofied at a different SF bar made me realize I need to share my story. I came with a group of friends, about eight of us. I had two drinks, blacked out, and had the worst hangover of my life (it lasted about three days too). I could barely get out of bed to go to class the next morning, I don't remember most of that next day, and all my class notes were basically gibberish. I think one of the bartenders did it. Based on the way my group was positioned at the bar, no one else had access or opportunity. There was also some guy (clearly not an employee) who kept going behind the bar. He seemed to be friends with a bartender. One of those people you get instant bad vibes from. Men get roofied too, but I don't think they were targeting me. I think they were targeting one of my two female friends, as we all had the same beer, our glasses were next to each other, and one of them bought my drink for me.

Sarah T.

Yelp
I really liked the vibe here, comfy seating, and the bartenders were GREAT company. The drinks were decent, a tad pricey, definitely strong. Really appreciated the service. Will be back.

Yelp
Very cool bar surrounded by different other wine bars and restaurants. My fiance and I came here to kill some time before going to watch a show at Davies Symphony Hall. It was the first place to pop up on Yelp when we were looking for a bar to hang out at while waiting. We got here on a Saturday evening. Around 6:00PM and they were packed! Pretty normal for a weekend evening. I ordered the Pink Pussycat and my fiance ordered a margarita. My cocktail was extremely easy to drink but it got me a little buzzed. My fiance's margarita was okay but I liked my drink better! They have two bathrooms in the back - they were in decent condition! It could be hard to find a place to sit but luckily, we arrived and were able to grab a table. I love how there's a couches nearby and plenty of seating. The bartender was really nice. The cocktails were a little pricey, but it was our first time here so we wanted to try it out. I would recommend getting whatever they have on happy hour just to save some $ ! But definitely a fun place to chill at - felt very cool. Everyone around us was vibing and I also loved the lights in this place! Would recommend coming here to kill some time in the evening.

Yelp
Great happy hour at sugar lounge with attentive bartenders who make some tasty drinks. The lighting is low inside which gives it a bit of an interesting vibe but i found going with friends was a great time. Also you get free candy!
google avatar

Jewelia C.

Yelp
Cringey decor and not the most lively bar but great drinks! Seemed like a lot of the people there were regulars at the bar. It was apparently busier than normal according to a regular but it seemed pretty empty to me... The vibes were kind of weird. Not a very social crowd and kind of creepy vibes. Probably not a place I'd frequent to meet people. The most normal cool people were definitely the staff lol The saving grace was definitely the drinks. The Apple mojito was super yummy - highly recommend!

Shanti D.

Yelp
This is the OG cocktail bar in Hayes Valley! Good Times, Good service, Good Cocktails; and no BS!
google avatar

Yelp
The Christmas decor here is so cute!!! Such a cozy vibe. They have a very generous HH (until 7:30) so you would still be able to make it after dinner. I LOVE that they have $5 drinks. AND GET THIS- FREE SNACKS!!! I'm in love with everything about this bar and will definitely be back.
google avatar

James F.

Yelp
Stopped into this bar in between dinner and a show. Really nice atmosphere with a friendly crowd. Great cocktails and reasonably priced. Just a couple of blocks away from New Conservatory Theater, so if you are seeing a show there, consider stopping in.
google avatar

Yelp
The watermelon ice tea $5 Happy Hour special on Tuesday is DANGEROUS!!! If you want to get tipsy or drunk fast, go here for the $5 happy hour drinks. They have free snacks like chips and candy.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice spot with great bartenders. Super weird vibe---brightly lit with semi-ironic decor. Customers range from college students to retirees. Our drinks were just ok, but the people watching here is top-notch. Would definitely return.
google avatar

Alexander C.

Yelp
A good selection of signature cocktails to choose from, but I wasn't a huge fan of them. Cool couches to sit on and catch up with friends though.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for a drink at Thursday around 7:15pm. Martinis were not great but decor was cute and I had Christmas decorations since it was December.
google avatar

Yelp
I used to come here all the time when I worked in the neighborhood many years ago, long before my Yelping days. Yes, it has been around that long and still has the same happy hour and creative cocktail vibes. Hadn't been in awhile, so when a friend suggested it - I jumped on the opportunity to bring up those Sugar Lounge memories. *If walls could talk, oohhh* They had happy hour specials and free chips and salsa. They also give out chocolate candy treats, for their customers - which just shows the added touch of *Sugar*. I ordered the Bacon Old Fashioned, which was interesting. They take their drinks to the next level and could probably make anything you request. The bartender was cool and let me taste the bacon infused whiskey/bourbon on it's own first, but told me the flavor would change and it did! When my friend arrived, we switched to Watermelon Long Islands - which folks is devastatingly delicious and dangerous! Tastes like a simple watermelon cooler with a Long Island punch. It was sweet to reunite with the Sugar Lounge. Check them out for Happy hour or a drink before dinner or a show in the neighborhood.

A D.

Yelp
Tacky yet strangely comfortable interior. My friends and I used to enjoy the couches. The drinks are of mixed quality, but tend to be a dollar or two less than most bars in Hayes. My friends and I however recently walked in and walked right out. It's any bar's right to express its opinions, but our group prefers to relax where there aren't any signs regarding the mid east (or who to vote for president) - regardless of which side of either. We're a pretty diverse group and don't want to walk into an environment that's potentially hostile to anyone.
google avatar

Cassandra J.

Yelp
We stopped in here while out wandering around Hayes Valley on the weekend as we needed a break and a tasty beverage. We were the only ones inside and the bartender served us promptly, putting together two really amazing cocktails. The environment was super relaxing and nice and the conversations with the bartender were engaging and enjoyable. The price is pretty good for the area and the quality of the drinks. Definitely swing by here for a nice looking bar with good cocktail options!

Yelp
For those of you who've known me for awhile in the "Yelpire" you would know that I'm a fan of "SF" and all that it has to offer, especially if it's a good time and great new experience. Most would know that my preferred area to hang out has to be in the "North Beach" and "Russian Hill" area. But I may have found a reason to venture over to "Hayes Valley". For so long I have said I wanted to explore "SF" a bit more and really get to know more of what "The City" has to offer. Well this I think I found some motivation. "Sugar Lounge" is that right balance, and allow me to tell you why you'll leave here with a sugar rush.. "Sugar Lounge" Location - San Francisco, CA (Hayes Valley) Drinks - x2 Blue Moon Beer Price - $14.00 Sugar Lounge: The "Sugar Lounge" is a sexy, simi-posh, lounge that I could imagine is the happening establishment during a night out, pregaming, date or when one of the Bay Area sports teams are playing. A low light establishment to set an ambiance of casual yet sophistication. It's an all around little lounge. Nothing divey about this place as the general high light seems to be lounge style seating with some stooled bar and table seating. They have some TV's to catch all the action of what's going on, but you can tell it isn't the highlight. I visited pre-opening as at the time "SF" was still in the Yellow-Tier, so restrictions were alittle loose, but people were still adhering to the mask mandate. I went inside with a buddy and grabbed two Blue Moon Beers at $7.00 a piece and another one later during my visit as I took in one, being back in a Bar/Pub/Lounge setting in my favorite city, and to observe everyone and take in everything. The service was great from the staff here as they tended to everyone in a timely manner, and the way they controlled the flow with inside and the guests sitting in the parklets was pretty outstanding. I was indeed left with a great impression after I departed for the evening. Overall: The "Sugar Lounge" is a nice lounge in Hayes Valley. With a nice selection of little Tapas restaurants, cafes and little shops. This would be a nice place to stop in and unwind after a day or evening out on the town. Yea this place was so sweet I got a cavity, in other words, I recommend this establishment.

Katherine F.

Yelp
unfortunately they had a maga meetup here it made the vibes super weird :( surprised they allowed this
google avatar

Melissa G.

Yelp
Definitely a smaller size bar. The aesthetic is there and definitely has a hip vibe to it. There are TV's and the lighting is dark with music surrounding the room. There are couches and bar tables inside, as well as a parklet with tables on the outside. Concerning the bar, there are one too many stools at the bar area. I do wonder if they move those at a later time. For 5pm on a Saturday, there was definitely quite a crowd. The drinks! The drinks are really good. I had the pineapple express and another one which was spicy. Both were good and yes you can taste the alcohol. The drinks definitely make this place. The bartender was beyond friendly and made sure everyone was attended too. We're excited to come back in the future and try this place again.

Haidyn M.

Yelp
bartender with long hair and beard demanded us give him a tip after ordering one drink, and refused to serve us until we gave him one.
google avatar

Tracey L.

Yelp
Great Ambiance! Super Bartenders! Can get busy around Civic Center events, but worth it
google avatar

Emma L.

Yelp
STRONG drinks. Casual ambiance. Friendly enough crowd. Came in for happy hour and ordered two Watermelon Long Islands and something else that I'm totally blanking on (probably courtesy of the Long Islands loool). Might've been a Cosmo. Long Islands are normally very boozy, but these were HEAVY pours. Friendly bartender, though he told us he sometimes felt overworked. Was staffed alone on a pretty busy night, but he handled all orders fluidly. Neat place with a few couches and small tables. Good unpretentious ambiance, probably aided by the free chips (salsa packed some heat) and free candy. *Review reflects pre-COVID experience.

Cj L.

Yelp
Awesome place to relax and get a drink! The vibes were great here and the bartender was very nice. All the special cocktails sounded so good and were at a good price point. I'll definitely be coming back

Daniel P.

Yelp
I been coming to sugar lounge for about 3 years and last Sunday Max the bartender kick me out the bar because he said I was using his space, and then he told my friends that he was a regular costumer so he was okay but he said that I was not a regular costumer which I feel that was disrespectful for me since I consider this bar as a local, family bar for me so this is why I think Max bartender needs to treat all customers equally and be more considerate with everyone.
google avatar

Trisha M.

Yelp
This was our second time here while visiting from LA. Love the vibe, drinks and music! Love that people can bring their dogs here too. Hannah Crush drink rocks!
google avatar

Wing C.

Yelp
Good Vibez decent drinks We came here on a sat night, it was crowded. The vibe was pretty good with attentive and friendly bartenders. However the drinks were quite disappointing. I ordered the Hannah Crush, there were a lot of cucumber pulps and the straw was tiny. The cocktail was not coherent... So I got a simple gin and tonic for the second drink, but even that was quite disappointing because of the quality of gin... I liked the vibe but I would also want a nice cocktail...

Yelp
Came here for drinks on Friday night and am really not sure why this place doesn't have better reviews?! The vibe is fun and modern -- definitely welcoming and in a good area! We met up with a few friends and one of them had already claimed a spot so we already had a spot at the bar -- 4 of us all got the Strawberry Margarita since it was the daily special. The daily special is something they advertise as a $5 a day drink that is set in stone (it is actually $8). The drink was yummy but not what I would normally go for! I was quick to finish this one and then moved on to the American Mule. I appreciated that this was in an authentic mule glass and found the flavor to be great too! One of the wins in my book was how they had free candy!!! Yum! I liked this vibe and would probably return if I was in the area. Don't think I would recommend this place for a first date and also probably wouldn't have spent more time than we did here (about an hour) as the drinks are sugary and you can only have 1-2. The ambiance is definitely upbeat and welcoming but the lighting is a bit dark and the noise level could make it hard to get to know someone new! I found the surrounding area to be quite pleasant and can see myself exploring it more in the future with friends! Thanks Sugar Lounge for a great experience..I will be back!

Larissa M.

Yelp
Not sure Sugar Lounge is my scene - came here after enjoying dinner and a drink at Baia. Vibe is a little disjoint (not sure the type of theme they are going for) and drinks are fairly basic... feels a little more like the type of place you go to get wasted vs to enjoy interesting cocktails. I can see why it's popular, but just not my thing.

Violet G.

Yelp
We were in Hayes Valley and decided to go for a Happy Hour cocktail. The Sugar Lounge has a modern, cool vibe. Nice decor, also a parklet, but we preferred the inside. The bartender, Sean, was welcoming. I had the Friday HH special, $5 strawberry margarita, and it was well made. Not too sweet and just a very well made cocktail. They provide bags of chips on a side table if you want snacks. But what I was really impressed with - this is one of the few places we've been to recently who have NOT raised their prices. We're supporting restaurants and bars who are not gouging their customers with "make up for our Covid losses" price increases. Thank you Sugar Lounge! We will be back for more of your interesting cocktails.

Yelp
Randomly came in this spot because they had a Happy hour sign. Best Cali decision that day, outside of the great vintage leather bag I bought at a consignment store. The lounge is super cute and the bartenders were like old friends from the past. Shirley and "the cute, really nice guy." Can't remember his name at the moment. These were actually great bartenders which we all know isn't always the case. I was drinking an Old Fashion that was perfect. It came in an old school bourbon glass that looked like he got it from my Grandma's cabinet but I loved it!! Three drinks for $24 (they weren't on the Happy hour menu) and it's not well. Can't find that too many places in ATL. They were playing r&b and after drink two I was having a mini concert on my stool. So much fun!! The crowd seemed to be mixed, not too many people drinking that early in the day but it got busier as the afternoon went on. Pleasant surprise in the middle of my day. Thanks Sugar Lounge. I shall return...someday

Yelp
EDIT: Updated hours since my first review: Happy hour runs from 4:00-7:30 pm (16:00-19:30)

Yelp
Been here twice and never disappointed with the vibe or the drinks. They make some really good cocktails here. Fav are their gin cocktails and the Manhattan drink! It's never been over crowded so that's a great thing because you enjoy your drinks.

Yelp
I do not drink at all, and yes I was not aware bars can make MOCKtails which is why I avoided going into bars with friends. This bar is near my job, and so my colleagues and I discover this bar and this was before I knew they created MOCKtails. I only went to support my co worker. She mentioned that they make virgin drinks, and so I thought she was joking cause she always teased me for not drinking alcohol. Turns out she was not joking. She ordered me a drink because me having no knowledge of Alcohol drinks did not know what to order or even how to say the drink. This was last year of October 2019, so walking into a bar had Halloween type vibe and FREE candy/chocolate at the corner of the bar. The Bartender was very friendly (Don't remember his name) but he was African American with glasses, very young; the one who created my drinks, and let me tell you it had a very nice exotic sweet and sour taste. Like I said I do not know the names of the drinks, but I posted pictures of what I drank! Overall this is a nice bar to go to relax, unwind with friends, co workers on a weekday (If local) which I am not. I see this bar get pretty packed on a Friday evening after work. If you ever feel the need to have a drink or two (Alcohol or NON) and are nearby, check this place out.

Yelp
Hayes Valley version of a dive bar I guess haha eclectic decor, hipster bartenders (but friendly and helpful), small but with a good cocktail menu, serviceable choice of beers. not a place to go for wine tasting. but lively and friendly and a good choice for an after-dinner drink

Yelp
Located in Hayes Valley, Sugar Lounge is a great small bar that has interesting decor (it's a little bit of everything and it's not really my thing), good bartenders and dangerously delicious drinks. Why dangerously delicious? Because most of the time you do not even taste the alcohol but after a few you definitely start to feel it. Overall, it's a great place for drinks and small groups but it's not a bar for everything or everyone.
