Sugar Plum

I have been going to Sugar Plum for years now and I absolutely trust Shelby with my life and hair. I’m not someone who wants to be in the a salon all the time so Shelby has helped create for me a great routine so that I only have to go about twice a year for color. I am a brunette and I always get some sort of balayage/custom blonding which is Shelby’s specialty. Sometimes I have my own vision, but sometimes I tell Shelby, “have fun, do what you think will look good.” I love the result every time. The last time I went in, another person in the salon could have sworn I have extensions, but it is just my natural hair that has been kept healthy and taken care of with love over the years by Shelby (she does also offer extensions if that is what you are looking for). I highly recommend Sugar Plum to anyone looking for hair services, she is just the best there is out there.

I've been going to Shelby for several years now, ever since moving to CA, and she's amazing! Shelby always listens to what I want, and knows what colors will look best. She’s done my blonding for years and always nailed the color. In the recent year or so I went back to my natural color (brunette) and more recently added some highlights back in and it looks so natural and looks great even when grown out! She’s recently expanded and hired on more girls for the salon that seem super sweet! I don’t think you can go wrong with anyone there!

Truly a personalized experience. Shelby listens and gets the results you want without compromising the health of your hair. The salon is cozy and inviting. It's always a positive and relaxing atmosphere. I love that is not a huge space, it's very intimate and peaceful. As a blonde, I've never been able to go so long between my services! It's resulted in healthier hair than I've ever had. Just book your appointment, you won't regret it!

The attention and detail she puts into hair is incredible, it’s not just hair it’s art to her! When I first visited Shelby, my hair was brittle, damaged from lots of bleach use about a year prior that I did to myself (bad choice lol). Now almost 4 years later my hair is long, thick, healthy and beautiful. She has taken me from brunette, red, to blonde. She is always down for whatever my heart desires to do to my hair in a healthy way! And it always looks BOMB. I will never go anywhere else, and she has become a lifelong friend now too! Get your hair done here ASAP, she is worth it!

If you’re looking for a new hairstylist, Shelby’s your girl! She gets my hair right every time. I love my hair color and extensions! She gives her honest opinion on which route your hair should go. She’s become the sweetest friend because she listens to how life is with me and I thank her for that. Sugar Plum is small and intimate! Which I absolutely love! Only three chairs. Sometimes just two clients. Hands down best person and place to get your hair done at!

This review is based on the integrity of the owner, not her hair styling abilities. Here are a couple things that I have NEVER encountered anywhere else: 1. You need to give a deposit when making an appt. She can cancel on you for whatever reason, and at the last moment, but if you do, she keeps your money. 2. I canceled my appt. exactly one week prior to my appt. (per her policy) and she charged my card she had on file for $200. I tried to get it back, but Shelby is morally corrupt and kept it. She lacks integrity, she's not professional, talks about other clients, and she's all about money; plain and simple! 3. She tries to upsell, when not necessary, and pushes her sweatshirts on people to purchase (very tacky). 4. She lied and told me my boyfriend said to get certain services done by her, because he was paying, and when I got home and asked him, he said, "I never said that"! I believe if someone has to be this manipulative to make money, then, I'd rather go somewhere else where games like this aren't played. Who blatantly boasts of scamming unemployment during covid and brags about their deception.

Went here for about a year. It's difficult to get an appointment Shelby only works one Saturday a month (also during the week) and she won't hold a space for you. Also she collects 25% on a credit card for every appointment you make.

I can't say enough good things about this amazing place. Just went today and I'm feeling clean. Shelby gave me a fade that looks epic. Super friendly person that makes me feel comfortable and look good. What more to say. Also her salon looks legit, so while we conversed I got to look at some pretty cool detail she designed. It only makes sense that a good hair designer has a well designed shop. Either way she cuts hair really good. I went to another person when I was in a pinch and was having a slight case of depression cause they ruined my hair. An expert in the men's dapper look with a crazy side fade that is modern and classy. Go check her out and you will see.

Shelby's salon is THE best hair experience I've ever had. Not only does Shelby know what she's doing with color and cutting, she knows how to create an intimate setting and personal atmosphere. Her studio is chicly decorated (right now in cozy Christmas theme) but upgraded even, with her unique touch. You feel at home here and her earnestness for her craft and for an A grade client experience is evident. You will be looking gorgeous and leaving with a smile ! :)

Shelby is the only person I trust to do my hair! I've been going to her for YEARS! She is amazing at what she does and I can tell she's truly passionate about making her clients feel beautiful when they leave. I'm so excited too see her at her new salon
