I was craving for some French toast and roads led me here to this chill diner spot. Food: I got the raisin cinnamon French toast. The banana and strawberry soaked in a light syrup. Light, and fresh. With the title sugar rush it doesn’t feel to sugary to me. Service: sat down, and quickly took my order. Diner style pay cashier. Ambiance: diner style, really relaxed place and music.

This cafe has such a cozy vibe. usually I'm anxious and feel like I'm being watched but this cafe has such a relaxed energy. The hostesses are quick and polite. I ordered the Roast beef provolone sandwich and substituted the fries for hashbrowns. The sandwich was delicious, made with what seemed to be fresh ingredients. 10/10 will come back!

I would return. Finding the cafe was a bit tricky, but once you step inside it feels cozy. There was only one gentleman (perhaps the owner) serving and it was busy enough that he was constantly on the move. Service wasn't incredible, but to be expected when it's just one person. Food was nothing to write home about, but my hash browns were extra crispy, just like I like them. Prices seemed a bit high for breakfast items, but that seems to be the norm everywhere. The cappuccino I ordered was delicious though. Not an amazing experience, but nice enough that I'd go back and try something new.

Overall food was just ok. The service was a 5/5, atmosphere 4/5 it’s cute inside. The hot chocolate was good but not great the steak and eggs were very flavorless still edible but chewy meat I had to add so much salt it was just bland , really watery eggs like they taste like water and the potatoes were the best thing on the plate , my sons breakfast was good he enjoyed it. The WAFFLE was 11/10 really fluffy and delicious exactly what you expect from a waffle. A bit expansive for the quality of food.

I wasn’t expecting much because it’s in an odd location, but I’m glad I was proved wrong. I’d recommend Sugar Rush to anyone in the diamond Bar area! Great food, timely service portion sizes and bang for your buck. Bacon crispy amazing-ness!

The customer service is 100% gold so polite happy nice and very very attentive my experience here made me not want to leave all the smiles and watiers fussing over you made me and my daughter feel so special wanted and like we made new friends can't wait to go back at first I was confused it looks like an truck stop for poorly made sandwiches but boy was I work whole in the wall shook me it's so clean super cute well decorated your close to your neighbor but not touching or cramp it's a very cozy upscale restaurant not diner its a full menu restaurant the price is extremely affordable the omelets toast and tuna melt will send your taste buds to heaven every bite is very savory the beautiful Presentation of the coffee add a little sugar of course so creamy so good. I definitely be back just for the coffee alone and the friendly serviceand I can't wait to tell my friends and family about this amazing place don't think about it run to it order any thing you will not be disappointed heads up you can not get a side of pancakes there a full comb kinda restaurant so it's definitely a reason to go back please tip they deserve it . The photos don't serve justice you have to taste it great portions to.

Yelp
Looking for a local cafe and found Sugar Rush cafe close by the house. They have been established for 16 years and I didn't even know. First impression is always and usually right. My first thought as I came in the door was it's going to be okay. It's actually more than okay. This is mom and pop little cafe. Serving breakfast and lunch. Their hours of operation is short from 7am-2pm. It's a small cafe , just about 7-8 table inside only . No patio. It's kind of hidden between industrial offices and buildings. First thing I noticed, is that they are a bit dated but they kept the place clean and organized. Looks like the owners take pride in their operation and cafe. That is so important to have great food but a clean environment to enjoy too. And they got both. I enjoyed my breakfast and the latte. I spoke to the owner himself and he's super friendly. A very hard working guy. I'll definitely will go back again for my quick breakfast and latte.

Yelp
Wow this crazy staff woke up today and chose violence. They're animals. This is clearly a mom-pop that's never had contact with the outside world of class or hospitality. Never in my life to experience such entitled, misunderstanding, aggressive, threatening of a restaurant. The old man literally lost his temper when I asked for a new batch of fries. In his defense, he misunderstood my concern, went from 0-100, without any openness for dialog or feedback. Him and his waitress yelled and screamed that his food couldn't have possibly be old. He shouted that the worst case, it was overcooked (which I initially politely suggested to his other waitress but she may have twisted or lied about what I said). Either way, a simple resolve would have been just to cook a new order. When the first batch of fries arrived, it was BROWN and SOGGY. My 6 yo was even able to point it out. I respectfully asked the waitress for a new batch because it may have been overcooked. She said, with an attitude, to order something else because it would be the same brown fries. I replied that it shouldn't be the case because we have had their fries before. She goes to the kitchen and with the door WIDE OPEN, she and the kitchen staff are laughing and badmouthing me in Mandarin about me. Obviously it became super awkward and confusing. The second batch was drenched in grease (so disgusting). As I'm dabbing the oil off the fries for my kids, the two waitress continue giggling and whispering towards my direction and look away when I return the eye exchange. It got increasingly uncomfortable so I asked them if something was wrong with the new fries? BAM! That's when the old man appeared out of nowhere to start yelling that just because I'm a regular doesn't mean I can be critical of his food....(um WHAT?!). Isn't it bc I AM a regular that he can show a little grace or patience for a gentle feedback? Ok, seriously keep in mind that I merely asked for new fries. These people are insane. This reminds me...this is the same old man that used to implore child labor, which is sad to see and actually why we didn't go for a while. They don't care about customers or the food. He knew the fries were overcooked... the soggy part is unexplainable though. The chicken melt lacked taste, and btw, it's so gross that the bathrooms sit directly in front of some tables. Ambiance? Clear view of the toilets and sounds of flushing as you eat. Shame on them to put on theatrics and yell at customers. I should add that the rude old man then went on a crazy rant to VENT to the other patrons about me, right in front of me. Shocked and threatened is definitely the feeling there. He had the whole place to gang up on me so he can feel superior. World class restaurant, y'all. Tip, do not provide negative feedback. They can't handle it. Or save yourself some dignity (and money) and don't eat there.

Yelp
It's still one of our favorite breakfast or brunch places in Walnut. If you want fresh and delicious meals, then you are in the right place. We took our friends from out of state to have a big breakfast there, and they were impressed by the taste, presentation, and portion. They also liked their coffee and tea. The food was so good and we especially liked their hashbrowns, waffles, and sandwiches. The place is cozy and they have a huge menu and we liked the food we've tried so far.

Yelp
Sugar rush,

Yelp
Food is tasty and consistently good. Service is usually fast, though there may be a wait when the place is full. Parking can be a bit tricky, so plan ahead. My only gripe is with the small two-seat tables...there's barely any space to put your belongings, like a purse, which can get a little uncomfortable.

I was craving for some French toast and roads led me here to this chill diner spot. Food: I got the raisin cinnamon French toast. The banana and strawberry soaked in a light syrup. Light, and fresh. Yelp
Sugar Rush Cafe is a neighborhood gem that locals frequent. It is a small family owned business so you get delicious cooked meals without the overly inflated price. The owner is very nice and friendly. The restaurant is small with approximately 10 tables but it is very comfortable place for breakfast with friends and family. My favorite is their 2 Eggs Breakfast with choice of protein, which comes with their hash brown and a side of toast. Highly recommended!

Yelp
It's been a while since my first review, but I have visited several times since then. Sugar Rush Café was one of our local weekday lunch spots, but we've only been in the office 1 day a week for a long time, so my experiences have been fewer and further between. My most recent visit was the same experience that I've had in the past. The food is very good, you get large portions, and they serve breakfast all day. The service is fast, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's great. The staff rushes to get orders taken and prepared, but they're not overly friendly. The ladies in the kitchen take pride in the food they make, and it shows, but sometimes things are done so quickly that a request like "no onions" is missed. Also, the prices are a little more expensive than other similar places.

Yelp
Don't over complicate it. The Sugar Rush Cafe is a super chill spot on Valley BLVD. Great place to meet with a friend before afternoon lectures. Be careful though! This place closes super early at 2:30. Food was solid, nothing that changed my life but tasted good nevertheless. The Milk tea I ordered came in a huge container though, probably the best milk tea to price ratio I've had in a minute. The interior and exterior are nothing to rave home about but the place is still inviting nevertheless. Our waitress was super cool also! Check this spot out with a friend.
google avatar

Veronica F.

Yelp
This place is awesome! It can be missed if you drive too fast down Valley Blvd, so pay attention. Co-worker and I were craving diner food but the good kind of diner food. We came across this spot and gave it a try for lunch. Don't underestimate a smaller size establishment as you can be missing out on some really good service and food. We both got the grilled chicken spinach panini sandwich. I added the sweet potato fries and an Emerald Hot green tea. Sooooo gooood. The tea was tasty- cute tea pot with an infuser for the legit herbals. I added some honey and I was feeling my Friday! The sandwich had such good flavor with the spinach and grilled cheese added. Honestly, a very good Chicken sandwich. The service was attentive, good music, clean and fast- within my lunch hour so we were happy! We vowed to return for waffles and pancakes and service again. Such a friendly environment.

Yelp
You'd never expect to find this where it is. It's located in a warehouse/industrial area on Valley Blvd between Walnut and Pomona. Despite this, it's a great breakfast and lunch place. Once inside, you're met with the owners & servers who are very friendly and inviting. Not the biggest restaurant, but clean and nicely decorated. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I've been told by others that they serve premium coffee. Their food is fresh and quality made. I've been here for breakfast and it never disappoints. You can tell they take pride in making your food in just the appearance alone. Everything comes out looking like it could belong on a cover of a food magazine - and the taste matches! Definitely recommend coming here if you can.

Yelp
Love this place!! I take my gf here to eat brunch!! Trying everything on the menu!! Each time i visit!! Nice, happy, friendly environment with scrumptious food! Thank you for the wonderful memories here! Its a hidden gem!!

Yelp
The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a delightful spot for breakfast or brunch. The Nonetheless, the quality of food and the cozy atmosphere make Sugar Rush Cafe a worthwhile visit for those seeking a satisfying meal in a relaxed setting. The service was excellent and I would definitely be coming back again.

Yelp
Went to eat breakfast here with my family for the first time. Beware of the pretentious owner. Freshly brewed coffee SHOULD NOT be lukewarm and sour. It was the worst tasting coffee. He was very proud of his coffee and obviously he could not accept feedbacks. Pros: Clean atmosphere Cons: Very disappointing and poor customer service
google avatar

Sarah Y.

Yelp
I came back for their chicken spinach melt and I asked for tater tots instead of fries. This place is not messing around with this melt. it's a simple sandwich, but it taste so good and homey.

Yelp
Christmas Eve I decided to visit Sugar Rush Cafe for my annual Auntie-Niece dining in December. I had not eaten there since the pandemic. I wondered if anything had changed. Not at all. Still large portions, quick, friendly service, and casual comfy ambiance. We both had breakfast and the hash browns are crispy on the outside and tender inside. The selection of teas and coffees will satisfy everyone's taste. I definitely won't wait long before I return.
google avatar

Yelp
Tucked in an out of the way office park on Valley Blvd, Sugar Rush is well worth finding despite the humble exterior. The people who run the place are very nice, and the interior is very much an "intimate local cafe" look. It's clean and simple but don't expect pretty. The food is simply excellent. We all had breakfast, and everyone described their meal as delicious. In particular, Sugar Rush makes fantastic hash browns - super crispy. We had omlettes, pancakes, the cinnamon raisin french toast, steak-n-eggs, and breakfast wrap. all very good. they serve intelligentsia coffee, which is quite good, however the coffee is cafe style so you get 1 (very generous) cup per order. The prices here are so reasonable that i hesitate to mention it for fear that it will get crowded and they have to raise prices LOL.

Lynn L.

Yelp
Rudeness to the max! The service was terrible. The owner could not take criticism about the sour coffee. Stay away!
google avatar

Enrique S.

Yelp
Blink and you will miss it. Trying out this little gem for the first time and it did not disappoint us. My wife got the omelette with mushroom, sausage and spinach. For myself the ham steak and eggs. The coffee was amazing too,

Yelp
Great food and service. Hard to find local good brunch here. Finally Omelet and croissant was the best. My kids love the burger

Yelp
First visit with good friends for our fellowship breakfast. Last visit was prior to the pandemic. We were not disappointed. Very good coffee and very good breakfast entrees. Excellent Service. So glad they survived the pandemic.

Yelp
This place is incredible! The environment is welcoming and uplifting. The food was delicious and satisfying! What really sets this place apart. the people are kind, caring, and truly make you feel like you're part of a community. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a positive and enriching experience!

Yelp
Best hidden food spot for breakfast...great service and amazing food. If you need a quiet spot this will not disappoint and if you have to wait it's worth it...support local family business they are what makes a great economy...

Yelp
A solid 4.5. Very well made and presented Sunday morning breakfast. Sampled a 3 egg omelet with has browns and the Rays special (pancakes , eggs and sausage ). Everything was cooked perfectly. Service was very attentive. A good local spot.
google avatar

Octavio S.

Yelp
The food did not disappoint. Everything was well done. From the crispy bacon and hashbrown to the well done sunny side up eggs. The pancakes tasted amazing. Nit too fluffy and doughy. I'm glad I stumbled onto this hidden gem.

Yelp
Great cafe in a business park. It's small but staff is so nice and accommodating. We are a party of 5 and they asked a couple to switch tables so that we could fit in their layout. Menu is great, breakfast or lunch items. Food is extremely fresh and they serve freshly brewed Intelligencia coffee. My son loved the pancakes, eggs and bacon. A hug hit!
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Was nice little place kinda hidden. Place had more seats than i thought it would. Service was good. Coffee was brewed to order was good. Rasen drench toast was awesome eggs were fluffy and sausage was tasty. Will go back now that i know its there!
google avatar

Mimi L.

Yelp
Great value and solid food ! This place is hidden in industrial area but every time we go, it is always almost full. Breakfast is a bomb ! The chicken sausage is hotel quality, the pancake is so fluffy. We are not in the area but every time we go to S. Cal, we will definitely eat there.
google avatar

Yelp
Been here before...thought it was better. Neighborhood cafe...didn't expect fancy food...comfort food. Expected friendly service...fairly aloof. Seems like a family business, and unfortunately, not everyone born into hospitality. Very mechanical, very slow, and it's a very small place. Took awhile to get a cup of coffee ... then they bring two packets of regular sugar (I'm diabetic), I think they worry you might use more than two packets...and two individual cups of creamer. What happened to the small caddy of assorted sweeteners and creamers? Come on people, things aren't that expensive...I paid $15 for an omelette...I think eggs are about 20 cents...lighten up. Won't be back...
google avatar

Christine F.

Yelp
Not good. I couldn't even eat the burger I had ordered. It had a weird taste to it. The fries were just ok and the only thing edible. Parking is also difficult this lot is shared with other businesses. Would not go back.

Yelp
Visited Sugar Rush on a Sunday morning. We were seated quickly. The servers are friendly and efficient. The waffles were great. The steak and eggs are delicious. This place will definitely be on our go to list when we visit.

Yelp
It all began with a beautiful Sunday morning. I drove by the town with family, and we spotted this place. It has been a while since the last time I came. "Why not" we thought. The cafe is pretty hidden among the warehouses and office buildings. The inside is pretty cozy and clean. Me: Can we sit at the table towards the end? It's easier either for the toddler. (There were 2 empty tables at the end with sofa) The waitress/ owner: No, they are only for party of 6-8 people. (Alright...) We sat down. 10 mins later, a group of 2 walked in, and she gave one of the table to them. It made me rasie my eyebrow. I tried to focus on the food. They tasted ok. There is nothing wrong with them. I tried to customize my omelette but she got some detail off. I tried to clarify before she walked to the kitchen. We couldn't finish the conversation very well because she seemed to be in the rush. Of course, they didn't deliver the omelette correctly. It missed the bacon I'd like to add. It wasn't a huge deal if they didn't charge me the extra. I again try to distract myself and focused on the coffee Instead. I heard the owners were communicating in Mandarin. Fortunately I am bilingual! I decided to use a different approach. Me spoke in Chinese: "excuse me, I need something." I tried to get a refill at the same time by pointing to my cup. The waitress spoke in English: "#%^*" and walked pass by me. I had zero idea what just happened. A couple more groups of people came in, and I decided to let it slide. The service has made me uneasy about the whole experience, and the food definitely didn't help. I need a to go box. Me: can I get a to go box? The waitress: okay. She gave me the check, and the box never came as I sat there for another 5-10 mins. Waiting. The end.

Yelp
Located in the middle of an industrial business park area, from the outside I wasn't sure what to expect of Sugar Rush Cafe. Once you walk in, the cozy atmosphere and wonderful smell of fresh coffee was very enticing! The Staff were pretty busy, but they smiled and joked with us while we placed our order. Don't be fooled by the size of the mugs- it was a lot of coffee, and all of it was delicious!! I ate every last crumb of my entire breakfast, which I usually don't do. At the end of your meal, you pay at the counter. Will definitely stop by again if we're in the area!!
google avatar

Elissa L.

Yelp
Pretttttty decent food with hit or miss service. It's an American Diner style, similar to Denny's, minus the salt. They actually use quality ingredients and focus on the quality of the foods here. They also serve intelligentsia and klatch coffee at a decent price but no refills. It gets busy during weekday lunches, but theres minimal wait time to get a seat. You'll spend much longer waiting for your food though. I usually have to wait ~30 minutes for my food if I come during the lunch hours. The cobb salad is good but needs some blue cheese. The sausages are great, eggs are great, and belgian waffles are amazing! Don't expect spectacular service though, the place is run by an older couple and theyre not too chatty.
google avatar

Lu L.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem, affordable and the staff are really welcoming. I found this place by accident and I'll definitely go back
google avatar

Yelp
First time there. Friendly service right when we walked in. Delicious orange juice and tasty food. Kind staff and nice atmosphere. Thank you!

Yelp
We got here fairly late in the afternoon and it was packed . It was pretty full but no waiting time since the flow seems pretty constant. This is a small cafe restaurant right off a fairly empty road so you might miss it if you don't look out for it. There was an okay amount of parking but you might have to walk a little bit to get to he restaurant The service was quick and the food was pretty delicious. It's a neat little brunch spot Hope this helps :)
google avatar

Angela C.

Yelp
Cute cafe located in an unassuming industrial area. I tried this place for the first time and the service is friendly and very good. During our visit, there were several people that came in that seemed to be regulars. They serve Intelligentsia coffee if you like that. They also serve smoothies and boba drinks. The food is good, but they need to work on getting the orders right. My son ordered a lettuce wrapped cheeseburger, but they forgot the cheese. I ordered a Coconut French waffle w/ no bacon, but discovered a pile of bacon under the whipped cream. Hubby had the Cobb salad and that was good. Overall a nice place with a good variety of entrees. I will be back to try more food!
google avatar

Robert K.

Yelp
Staff very friendly. Parking decent. Bathrooms close to tables not far walk. They got A on food inspection. Bathroom very clean. First time visit. Place has many foot options on the menu. They are only open til 2:30 pm. Trying the Burger, Chips, Highly recommend the burger very tasty. Thanks for a great visit.

Yelp
GREAT place. The wife and I were looking for a place near Cal Poly Pomona, and this place was close enough. Location is a little bit weird, but no big deal. My wife had an iced coffee, and I had an iced tea. Both were strong and flavorful. Even though it was breakfast time, we were told the whole menu was available. My wife had the BLT with avocado, and tater tots. The bacon was great. The tomatoes were thick slices. It was excellent. The tots were crispy. I had the bacon avocado burger with sweet potato fries. Everything tasted great. The sweet potato fries were very good. The price for the food was very reasonable, especially in this economy Some reviews have dinged the service, but it was fast and efficient. This place will be a regular destination whenever we are in the area.
google avatar

Rebecca C.

Yelp
Friendly and fast service. The food is delicious and the choices are plentiful. I personally enjoy the waffle menu. Superb Intelligentsia coffee. About a dozen tables ranging from 2-8 people. Local cafe done right.

im almost done with school and I still hasn't gotten any response lmaooooo ill just let it pass it ‍‍

Yelp
So we were trying to go to Bonanza, but for some odd reason it was closed. Perfect opportunity to try Sugar Rush, since I'd been wanting to go for awhile. So glad I did! I had the belgian waffle combo, as did my grandkids. Hubby had the club sandwich. Everything was high! The waffle combo came with 2 eggs and your choice of sausage or bacon. We all had the sausage--it was so yummy. Eggs were perfect and the scrumptious waffles were topped with the sweetest of strawberries. I topped things off with a Thai tea; the grands had Oreo smoothies which they raved about. Hubby had coffee. The service was great, since it's such a small place the staff can see you and anticipate your needs. Ambiance was nice and cozy, and the staff seemed to know a lot of the customers so I'm guessing they are regulars. I'll be adding myself to that list, cause this place is fabulous!
google avatar

Yelp
I came here for the first time with an old coworker to catch up. FYI it's kind of hidden and in a place that doesn't look like it would have a brunch cafe (industrial area). So don't be surprised if you miss it a few times, like I did. We picked this place because it was halfway between the both of us, the food pictures and menu looked great, and the reviews looked good. We were not disappointed. We went on a busy weekend, Mother's Day, on Mother's Day, too, lol. So it was packed and busy! But that shows it must be good if people wanted to be there. My friend said they seem kinda rushed when speaking with her, but I think because they had a customer who was complaining and wanted to be seated right away, so my friend let them go ahead because I wasn't there yet. It turned out great!! This place isn't for private conversations that's for sure! But it was bustling and had a nice vibe. It's small and the seats are kinda close that's why I say it's not for private convos. I ordered the 3 egg omelet and hash browns with avocado on top of course, just like the menu picture. Ugh it was so good. I'm not a fan of scrambled eggs or omelets but I've been trying them at places lately, ever since I tried one in Vegas. And I will say, this place didn't disappoint. I enjoyed my omelet and hash browns. My friend ordered a sandwich and liked it too. She said she felt a little rushed but I reminded her that this weekend was Mother's Day weekend and that this is a busy time for restaurants like this. I would definitely go back. Parking wasn't bad, we were seated pretty quickly, thanks to my friend getting there early, and the service was great. Prices aren't too bad for a breakfast brunch spot.

Yelp
We found this place, how, by driving by and stopping. We tried it 1 time then 2 times now it's my family's spot. We love this place, nice and chill, good food, and fancy coffee.

Yelp
Food is average, but poor services wanna customer to leave even no other customer awaiting at all
google avatar

Yelp
The food is so good and fresh, all the vegetables on the dishes are remarkably fresh and crisp . This is a little hidden gem perfect for family breakfast I recommend!

Alex F.

Yelp
I went to this restaurant for lunch. The coffee was supposedly freshly brewed; however, it was very bland and sour. I asked for another one, and the inscrutable-faced waitress brought me a replacement and asked if it was okay. I politely said it was, even though it tasted the same. The food was okay, but both the coffee and the server's attitude were disappointing.

Yelp
Service is very lacking, food ain't bad, ambiance, small quaint place. I won't be back, what breakfast place ain't gotta chicken fried steak?? On menu. Just basic fare, eggs, bacon, tatertots, pancakes,omelets..
