The service was excellent, and I truly appreciate the effort. Unfortunately, the product didn’t meet expectations. This was my third attempt at supporting this small business, but the sweet potato pie missed the mark. The filling had large chunks—as if it wasn’t fully blended—and the crust was undercooked. The color also seemed a bit off. That said, the flavor itself was actually pretty good, which made it all the more disappointing. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Was able to pick up my two favs (peach cobbler & butter pecan cupcake) right before they closed 😋. A Thanksgiving fav of my family as well. Been coming here since 2017. They did our business Grand Opening Anniversary cake, cake pops, banana pudding and cobbler back then and not a scrape was left!

This is a true hidden gem. I got cupcakes and cookies both were incredible. I’ve never seen cupcakes like these! But the star of the show was the manager Christy she was so lovely and friendly and quickly made a suggestion when I was struggling to choose for my clients. Good customer service is hard to come by these days and she was the definition of excellence. Thank you, I will be back!

It was my first time going in and the menu was explained to me and I got a detailed review of what they had. I ended up ordering the banana pudding cheesecake and it was amazing! Awesome customer service and my sweet treat was delicious! I'll definitely visit again. Update: This is our 2nd year purchasing our daughter's birthday cake and we couldn't be happier!! Sweet and beautiful cakes! 3rd year update: We purchased some cakes to celebrate our one year old and Sugar Rush continues to do amazing work!! They never disappoint. Thank you for 3 fabulous years of birthday cakes, cupcakes, and sweet treats.

Took a little bite of each item I bought today, a mini strawberry cake, and a big slice of peach cobbler. So far so good. I will be noshing a little each day on my birthday treats to myself until Christmas. I recommend these treats. The mini cake was only $12, very worth it and good portion for 1-3 people. They prepare it very quickly, so no need to special order days or weeks before. The generous slice of cobbler was $6.50, not bad. Worth the drive from Spring. I will make an excuse to come back soon enough.

I was VERY impressed with the quality and taste of the strawberry shortcake. Moist and delicious without being too sweet. Beautiful presentation.Chantel was really professional and kind.

Everything I purchased was amazingly moist and delicious. My favorite has always been the pecan pie cup cake, but now I am in love with the pound cake, it has white icing on top. The customer service was great and I felt a lot of warm hospitality.

The cakes were ok, however, they should let people know their frostings are the names of their cakes. I purchased an Italian Cream cake, but only the frosting was “Italian Cream “, totally disappointed in that cake. The Jungle Fever was good. Won’t be going back. Also, you need to get there when they first open up. Another disappointment, they don’t have enough product to last throughout the day. Do better.

I love this place! It's hard to choose a favorite treat bc so many things are good. I love the banana pudding, & peach cobbler cupcakes. They have great customer service everyone is so helpful and kind.

Ordered Peach Cobbler for Thanksgiving dessert. Paid $55 for some sweet syrupy dough on a huge cookie sheet. A few peaches found in the center of the sheet covered in this white mass. My 14 guest were very disappointed.

I Love this business their desserts are delicious whenever I'm in Houston I always go by. The banana pudding cheesecake & banana pudding are the Best ever I Highly Recommend this place bring one to the Louisiana area Delicious

I purchase a cake for my daughter birthday this pass week and it was horrible. First when I went into the store the lady was so nice she help me pick out a cake topper from Amazon and she was suppose to write down everything we discussed. I ask for a cake to be made which was nasty it taste like a box cake it look thrown together and it was not design the way I was told it will be . I was told without the crystal lollipop on the top of it will be 90.00 but since I wanted the lollipops on the top of the cake was 120.00 which I didn't get . I got crystals poured on top of the cake . I did tell the baker that the cake was made wrong she insisted that she went by what was on the paper . I post a pic of what the cake was suppose to look and what I received . I wouldn't recommend them sorry . The cake taste was very nasty :

Overall very disappointed in this spot. The best thing was the service when we arrived. Red velvet cake: Not moist and flavorless, 2 cookies: dry af. The Italian cake was the moistest but the icing all around was so sour & runny. Little disappointed, going back to the panadería.

They did great helped me get a smash cake last minute for my daughters 1st birthday.

This place is hot or miss... You can go here one day and get an amazing cake and go there another day, you get a cake dryer that has a Popeyes biscuit with icing on it. It's no way they Don't know these cakes are dry and shouldn't be sold. They're not baking them do whatever the shelf life they are using needs to be lowered. I already wanted a pineapple cake which they no longer have but this lemon cake is so dry, I'll take it back to them tomorrow

Came across this place after reading an article about great black restaurant/places to visit & decided to give it a try. I was slightly hesitant about going due to some of the recent negative reviews, but we gave it a shot anyway. My son and I are the dessert heads, so we got a few things to try such as the sugar cookies, the banana pudding cupcake, and the turtle brownie. I must add that by the time we got there (after 2pm) they were out of quite a few of the other things we wanted to order such as peach cobbler, oatmeal raisin cookies, and one of the cheesecakes. However, the banana pudding cupcake was DEEELICIOUS! Hate I didn't buy more. It was moist, flavorful and not overwhelmingly sweet- perfect balance. My son immediately began eating his cookies, in which he said he liked. To me, they tasted more like tea cakes, but as long as he was happy. The turtle brownie...err not so much. I was hoping for that ooey gooey brownie that's crunchy on the sides but warm in the center, toppled off with a nice "balance" of chocolate, caramel & pecans - to no avail. This was suuuuper sweet and like overload on the chocolate topping. I had to scraped off quite a bit of the chocolate frosting to get more of the brownie & mix in the pecans because it was so heavily layered on there. Plus, no evidence of the caramel traditionally found in "turtle" flavored desserts. Needless to say I had to eat this in phases, and I only got to two before disposing the rest - it was a bit too rich for me. But, I shall return & give them another shot for more banana pudding cupcakes or other cupcake flavors, and hopefully they'll have some of the other items I missed. Chao!

These ladies did a wonderful job. Our original Birthday cake for my mother was a complete mess. Last minute I was forced to scramble around for a replacement. Out of the kindness in their heats, these beautiful ladies came through and saved the day. Not only was it beautiful, but it was a confectionery delight that my mother cannot stop raving about. This was my first experience with this company but it was such a wonderful experience that this has become my preferred baker. You will not be disappointed!

Went yesterday February 15, 2022. Spent $27. and some change. Ordered a Peach Cobbler Mini Cake, Butter Pecan Mini Cheesecake, and a slice of Lemon House Cake. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. Will never go back. Taste wasn't good. I didn't mind the waiting for my desserts to be made, it's the waiting for your desserts and you're thinking they're gonna be really good and then end up being highly disappointed because they're not good. The Lemon Cake tasted like a cheap box cake, or the cake your church makes on Sundays. You know what cheap cake tastes like. Then my Peach Cobbler Cheesecake had slid all to one side (the cream cheese part). She was nice. That's the only thing nice I can say. Man, and I wanted something sweet all day yesterday after being downtown. We passed up so many dessert shops coming from downtown and to stop here and be disappointed. I'm cooking at home a lot more these days because I'm disappointed a lot these days spending my money out and not getting quality food. I'm a person that will pay good money for what I want. When my food isn't good, or isn't of quality, I feel cheated. I spent $27 on desserts when I could've taken that same $27 and went in the store and purchased my own ingredients and made my own desserts. And FYI, I hate canned peaches!!! I grew up eating peach cobblers being made from scratch, fresh peaches.

Went back, and tried another cake! This one was bigger at ten dollars versus the six dollars square cake. Round, with lots of icing, and pecan pie on top of cake to top it cake. Not dry either. Good.

Ordered lemon cake and only the icing was lemon. My peach cobbler was cold twice, so the next time, I called to have it warm when purchased. I was given a time to pick it up, when I arrived, it had never been heated, so I was asked to wait 10 minutes to have it heated. There isn't seating inside, so I waited outside with my car running to stay cool. After 10 minutes, they told me to give it 5 more minutes. After 5 minutes, I didn't see it come out, so I told my daughter to go and get a refund. The cashier didn't want to refund my money and they brought the cobbler out just as my daughter was complaining about the poor service. She brings the cobbler to the car, and it's leaking out when I sit it down. I angrily take it in and have them change pans. The only good thing was that the cobbler tasted great once the fiasco was over.

I ordered the peach cobbler and oreo cupcakes. They were ok, moist but not sweet enough for me.

I love the concept of this dessert bar more than the actual dessert but I wouldn't dare complain because where else are you going to get tea cakes, banana pudding, peach cobbler, and sweet potato pie on the north. No where! So I go and it satisfies the craving.

I was in search for black bakeries and saw this one on yelp and decided to give them a try and not disappointed at all

Firstly the layout/presentation of the store was not appealing..secondly I got the "carrot cake" firstly the cake wasnt layered it was just 1 solid piece of cake.It was very moist at first then got dry.The icing had a lemony tinge to it.My l got the banana pudding cup cake that she was to busy sleeping to eat..for 14$ the price was ok but I'm not going back.

The cupcakes were absolutely delicious and the customers service was just as great! My only downfall is that there was a lot of icing on the cupcakes, but it's nothing you can't just scoop away.

Disappointed $12 for 2 watery blackberry cobbler I just knew it would be delicious and old school. They were juicy and wet one has a micro berry the other had just the purple color. This should be removed immediately from the menu

So I have not been in about a year or so and was disappointed to know that the prices that they have online are not the same and it seems that they are under new owners maybe. The small cakes that were $7-$8 before are now $10-$12 yet the online page states otherwise. They did not honor the price which is not good in my eyes. The taste of the strawberry cake also changed so defiantly not worth the up charge for a dryer cake. The cupcakes are now $4 for your normal ones (crazy) I had a big order from the office and can tell you one thing, I will be driving to the other location where the prices have not changed. Our office is right in the middle of the 2 locations so might as well save money lol

Omg. OMG. WHAT MAGICAL INGREDIENTS DO YALL PUT IN THESE CUPCAKES?!? Kids and husband came by this evening to grab a couple of cupcakes. It was my sons bday and we usually keep it low key around the holiday (because he can't compete with Jesus) and we have a big party in the summer. I've been waiting to swing by for a while and finally today it happened. And I'm kind of sad I've gone so many days without these cupcakes. I'm a huge believer in judging a place by their Red Velvet. I was ready. The husband has been trained to get me Red Velvet anywhere available. This place did NOT disappoint. Very smooth and creamy frosting. Cream cheese frosting is a must on Red Velvet and if anyone dare puts buttercream, they should be fined. I was impressed. Daughter was eating a vanilla cake with white frosting and confetti. Generally places make theirs too sugary. Sometimes grainy. WHAT THE HECK?!! It was also delicious. Smooth with a nice balance of butter and sugar. Clearly angels were involved with making this. Or did you sell your soul to the devil? I can't make out how I made it to my mid-40's without eating one of these cupcakes. Oh no help me I just realized my husband got me some bread pudding and there's pecans on them!! I should be writing in all caps because I am screaming. Ohhh I just took a bite. I'm shaking. This is hands down some of the best bread pudding my taste buds have been blessed with. I can now die happy. My life is complete. Thank you. Ps- I thought the raisins would ruin it but didn't!

Some good cakes, cookies, and pies. I highly recommend you try their cake with pecan pie on top of it.

I heard about this bakery and so I decided to go today and I ordered the lemon cake! Moist and delicious, great customer service.

Let's first talk about the counter service. I have been to this establishment more than once and have received the same dry attitudes from the counter attendants. It's like everyone is angry and aggressive for no reason. I enjoy going to establishments that have attitudes that are friendly and welcoming especially family / local owned businesses. I ordered a mini Pecan Pie and a Butter Cake topped w/ buttercream icing and pecan sauce. Both desserts were extremly sweet hence the name of the establishment "Sugar Rush" Pecan Pie I like the fact that there were an abundance of pecans but the flavor I was looking for wasn't there it was just sugary. The butter cake portion was enough for 2ppl and it was moist. What I liked least about the butter cake is the buttercream icing on top of it seemed like it over powered the cake I would rather have a lighter icing. I will visit once more and try a few more items. Stay tuned!

Cheesecake is to die for!!! If you want something homemade and hits that sugar tooth spot you have to stop here!!! She gave us a complimentary brownie...it was served warm and lick your fingers good!!! The owner is the sweetest person! We will be going back for more!!

My cousin referred me and I'm glad she did. The lady at front counter is very nice and you can tell they have regular customers and she is very engaged with everyone. The mini cake I bought was amazing I'm going back tomorrow for another one because my fiancé ate more than half of mine because it was so good

Too sweet that you can't taste the flavor of what your cupcake is. Very disappointing. It's not like the location in Houston. I wasted the 4 pk Berry ones my boyfriend brought me as a surprise. And to be that pricey it should've been better.

Had previously tried cupcakes and a small cake that was amazing , but this last time the cupcake was dry and I've had better . Very expensive so I probably won't go back for awhile if ever

We got the banana pudding cake and the red velvet cake. Both were moist and the icing was soft and fresh. The banana pudding cake tasted a lot like bananas and the wafer cookies on it were the perfect touch. The red velvet cake was very good but tasted different than your average red velvet. Overall I will be back. The staff were really nice and the prices are very reasonable.

The cakes are okay they are not worth $10.00 for a small cake or cheese cake. I went and bought a red velvet and it wasn't that good it was dry it wasn't sweet. The only sweet was the icing. The customer service is a two. The young lady in the front was not very welcoming. She made me feel as if I was bothering her or something. The hours to this location are all out of whack, it is almost never open.

I am very disappointed in the quality of their cupcakes during travel. I did not even make it home before the cupcakes in their "famous cupcake bouquet" falling apart! I was so pleased with this spot until now... I am a very disappointed customer. This "bouquet" was suppose to be a Mother's Day gift for my grandmother!

I'm so disappointed. If you do t have something just say you don't have it, instead of giving a customer something for the heck of it. I ordered 3 sock it to me cupcakes, they're my favorite & I've been craving one for a long time. Just to get home and realize all they gave me was a regular vanilla cupcake with cream cheese icing & the toppings. Like seriously? When you're almost 8 months pregnant and you have been craving this y'all would be as furious as I am. I will be contacting management cus that's just messed up.

Amazing customer service every was greeted upon entry the lady was so nice and helpful I ordered the pecan cake and my wife got the turtle cake we're most definitely returning ASAP...the service is just like their cakes SWEET.

Upon entering this place the decor leads you think you are about to embark on some delicious decadence. I was not disappointed we got tea cakes, chocolate chunk pecan cookies, pecan pie and the peach cobbler cupcake. The cookies were soft and buttery but the star of the show was the peach cobbler cupcake Yum!!!

My husband had a Wonder Woman cake customized for my birthday. It was beautiful and delicious! I did not want to cut into it because it looked so perfect. Their peach cobbler cupcakes are my absolute favorite. I highly recommend this bakery. They have lots of flavors to choose from. Go and try them!

I've been to the other location but never to this one my plan is to make it there there cakes are very good i enjoyed every spoon full sorry there not open on sundays are mondays buti will make it to this one on the north side and see how it is hope it taste the same sometime new places change sometime i don't know will see ill let you know this week

I ordered 5 dozen cupcakes for a work event. I was very pleased with the presentation of the products. Everyone raved about the flavors. I only tasted a small piece because I'm borderline diabetic. My only complaint is I could never get anyone to answer the phone. Luckily I didn't live to far from the location.

If I could give this place a zero I would. I'm a cupcake lover. I grew up eating cakes and cupcakes. I was told to try this place and that it was soooooooo good. No it wasn't I was disappointed. The cupcakes are wayyyyyyyyyyyyy to dense and dry and everybody in my house threw them in the trash. Couldn't eat them period. And they where expensive. Go to OHHHHHHHHHHH LALA CUPCAKES ON 1960 where Barnes and nobles is at.. sorry sugar rush not good cupcakes...

The lady told me that the banana pudding was one of the most popular ones so I got it and It did not taste homemade wasn't that good I felt like it has been sitting out did not receive a menu they had some just sitting behind a glass to which I guess was for Decour but it just looked old not a fan

The cakes here are DELICIOUS!!! Like OMG! Who would have thought to merge a peach cobbler with a cake? And both flavors work together so well. Not too sweet, but just the right balance. I've been back several times since my coworker recommended them back in January. One of my favorite places to get a sweet tooth fix.

Sugar Rush has been open 3 years, but I found it today and man have I found a gold mine. The customer service was on point and the personalities and love for what they do is felt within those delicious concoctions. I had the peach cobbler and it blew my mind. Please listen to this fat boy who loves wonderful food: GO and get this wonderful piece of heaven!

Delicious cupcakes. I tried the cupcake with pecan pie on top. The cake was moist and a perfect combination with the pecan pie on top.

This place is ok. Cupcakes are too small and expensive and cream cheese icing on Sock it to Me wasn't sweet enough and had chunks of cream cheese that hadn't been blended into the icing.

I've tried pretty much everything on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. *Disclaimer* This is a dessert shop-everything is sweet! Really sweet, which equals really good! Reasonable prices, good portion sizes. Staff is always super helpful. Have ordered small cakes to full sheets and cake is always moist and delicious. The best thing on the menu are the peach cobbler cupcakes (you're welcome)!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!! I placed my order over the phone. I paid half of the order over the phone since it was two separate orders. When I arrived I wasn't greeted properly. It was almost as if I was bothering her (heavy set older black woman) She asked me the name on the order. I gave her my name and she came back a few seconds later stating she didn't have an order for me. I then showed her the receipt on my phone that was sent to me from the order I paid over the phone. She went into defense mode saying she doesn't even have an order in that amount for pick up. She was very RUDE!! So she asked me again what name and number is on the order. I gave her my name and my sister name simply because I wasn't sure if I left my name or my sister name. Her words to me then was "So you don't know what you ordered" with such an nasty attitude. I told her yes I know what I ordered but you didn't ask me what I ordered, you asked my name. Then someone from the back yells out they found my order. She then slammed a sticker on my boxes and didn't say thank you for my business or anything. The customer service was absolutely horrible and I'll NEVER EVER EVER EVER spend another dime there. It was my first and last time there. Had she simply taken the time out to figure out or try to find my order and not had such an bad attitude I wouldn't have had to write this review. Did I mention my cupcakes didn't even fit into the tray it came in. The icing was falling off. When I tried to close it properly it smashed the icing on top. The lid wasn't sealed on my banana pudding and it almost dropped. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY!!!!!!

I love this place...my Friday stop on my way home...the bakery is beautifully decorated and is very warming...I love that the owners are there.. You have to try the Oreo cookie cake, its amazing... The service is quick,no long lines... Did i say that is my every Friday stop!!!!

I was told how great this place was and as a sugar addict I had to try it. We bought 6 different cupcakes, banana pudding, chocolate chip cookies and teacakes. All of the cupcakes were dry except for the butter pecan one with pie on top of it. The one with peach cobbler on top was so sweet I couldn't even eat more than one bite. The strawberry had some weird tasting jam on top of it.The icing was extremely sweet on all of them. And I agree that they don't travel well because putting the hot desserts on top of the icing made it melt and the toppings slid off before we made it home. The chocolate chip cookies were brick hard and the teacakes were dry and tasteless. The only good thing, according to my daughter because I don't eat it, was the banana pudding. We brought some to my family and they also loved it.
