Feast your eyes on these anything but the usual, absolutely scrumptious dessert creations@ Sugar Vault Desserts of Hyattsville. The strawberry ice cream is bursting with flavor! Indulge and Experience this sweet treat for yourself. 🤩

Never in my life did I think someone could charge $18 for a cinnamon roll and I’d pay for it. $18 for a slice of cheesecake is a little more reasonable but still absurd. Both looked amazing but didn’t taste that way. The cinnamon roll was soft but had no red velvet taste. Also, the egg nog wasn’t very noticeable in the icing. The cheesecake was light but had no flavor. The best part was the cookie dough on top. I think no matter how good these were I would never come back due to the insane prices.

I was excited about this one but unfortunately, my excitement was not fulfilled Now customer service was AMAZING! Very friendly and professional from the moment we walked in the door! Here’s what we got: 🧁 Strawberry Crunch Rum Cake 6/10 The alcohol was just too overpowering (and I love rum cakes). I couldn’t really taste the flavor of the cake. 🧁 Pineapple Upside Down Rum Cake 6/10 Same as the strawberry cake. The rum was so overwhelming. There was no balance. 🧁 Red Velvet Cupcake 7/10 I was expecting to be wowed and just wasn’t. It was a basic red velvet cupcake 🧁 Sweet Potato Cheesecake 8.5/10 The cheesecake itself is very good! A nice mixture and balance of cheesecake and sweet potato. But it’s covered with (I think) Cinnamon Toast Crunch…that has zero crunch. I just don’t think the cereal is necessary on this one 🧁 Peach Cobbler 6.5/10 It was literally peaches (that could be cooked more), cinnamon, and nutmeg. I like mine a little thicker and more “cobbler” 🧁 Banana Pudding 5/10 This was a basic banana pudding (with not many bananas to be found). There wasn’t even a taste of banana. Generic pudding and vanilla wafers. While none of the items were horrible, they all could have been a lot better for the price point! I would love to try them again in hopes for a different experience. #baltimorefoodblog #baltimorefoodie #baltimorefoodfinder #baltimoreblogger #baltimorerestautants #eatmorebmore #charmcityfood #charmcityeats #dmvfoodfinder #dmvfoodie #dmveats #dmvrestaurants #eastcoasteats #marylandeats #blackgirlblogger #blackgirleats #blackgirlfoodie #newfoodfinds #boujieblackgirl #wherewebouttoeatat #bmorecity #bmorecityfood ##dmvdesserts #dmvsweets

Google
The cupcakes are a bit on the sweeter side, however there’s a big variety of them and I didn’t try all). There’s other desserts besides the cupcakes that I really enjoyed. The atmosphere is very nice and welcoming. Overall, I’d recommend, and would go again!

They desserts are out of thisss world. I do know the cinnamon rolls sell so quickly. I love the ambiance and I love that they have so many creative ideas with their desserts. 10/10🥰

Google
This place has no business being this good. I am so glad they ran out of the cinnamon rolls because I probably would have slapped my mama after eating one. The banana pudding cheesecake was delicious. My wife doesn’t even like banana pudding but her fork was all over my plate. I highly recommend this bakery, 5 stars.

Google
We ran in 30 minutes before closing. I'm so glad that we did. We ordered a bunch of stuff, but this review is about the cinnamon roll. It is the best cinnamon roll that I've ever had in my 39 years of living. Perfect texture, harmonious balance of cinnamon and everything else, the most delectable cream cheese frosting. Omg, I'd go back to MD, just for that. And I ate it 2 days later because I always buy "just in case" sweets. Lol.

Yelp
I was excited to try Sugar Vault based on recommendations, but my experience was mixed. The red velvet cupcake, priced over $5, was disappointing--its dry, cornbread-like texture lacked the rich, moist crumb I expect. Despite the flavorful cream cheese frosting, the overall cupcake didn't deliver the classic red velvet taste. A better balance of fat and flour could improve the texture. On the other hand, the chocolate chip cookie had a nice contrast between a crunchy outside and a soft, doughy inside, with smoothly melted chocolate chips. It was a solid choice. The bakery's service was quick, but the space felt cramped, with no seating or clear visibility into the baking process. I also wondered about the storage of their savory cupcakes (macaroni and cheese, turkey with gravy), which were served at room temperature. The concept is creative, but the execution and storage need improvement for a better experience. Sugar Vault shows promise with its inventive flavors, but for classic treats like red velvet, it may fall short. It's worth checking out if you're curious about their other offerings.

Yelp
The dessert combinations are creative AF, presentation is good too, the flavor execution remains to be desired. Several desserts were way too sweet. For the price it really should be on point every time and with every item. Pumpkin Cupcake Not nearly enough pumpkin. Yellow cupcake was extremely dry. The caramel on top was good. Just an okay cupcake. Peach Cobbler Stuffed Cheesecake I loved that it had fresh peaches. The cheesecake again was overly dense and cream cheese could have been whipped longer. The Graham cracker crust was too sweet and a bit too thick. Very nice to look at. Cobbler pieces were delicious and made well. Brown butter Cinnamon Roll Plenty of pecans on top, which was appreciated. I also loved that they weren't skimpy on the frosting. There wasn't enough brown butter or something went awry because you couldn't even taste the nutty earthiness that comes from browning butter. While the roll was soft, it had a strong yeasty taste. Good amount of cinnamon inside. Out of all of the items this was the best. Maple Red Velvet Cupcake Overly sweet. The combination of the alcohol and the maple syrup resulted in a way too sweet to consume cupcake. The red velvet just okay. This was the opinion of 3 different people that tasted the cupcake. Buttercunch Mini Cheesecake I liked the Biscoff cookies on top. The cheesecake was overly dense. The cream cheese was not blended well enough. The caramel on top was nice. I'm a cheesecake snob so I have high expectations. Service was excellent. Store is only setup for Carryout. Menu rotates each week, check their website the night before for the menu. I love a rotating menu. Only open on the weekends, again check their social for hours of operation. All in all I spent over $100 and it wasn't worth it to me. I appreciate the presentation and how all the dessert look really good. I'm a foodie, I need everything to knock my socks off with every bite. Not a place for me, maybe it is for you?

Yelp
Sugar Vault Customer Service-It was awesome!! I was greeted when we walked in and immediately helped. I previewed the menu beforehand which helped save a ton of time trying to decide what to order. With all of the available options it can be super overwhelming, so I would truly recommend it. Food Orange Creamsicle Cinnamon Roll- Do you remember the cream savers candy? Imagine that but in a cinnamon roll. It was delicious and the best part was arriving right on time when they were fresh out of the oven. (another perk of viewing the menu before). Cheesecake (Strawberry Cheesecake Mini)- I love and to have a dessert that you can taste the bold flavor, is what I am always looking for. The flavor was potent yet blended well with the cheesecake. #pickyfoodieapproved Cake-Whewwwww!!! You can taste the liquor . It was hard to taste the flavors of the cake, next time I'll get one without. Strawberry Crunch Rum Cake Caramel Apple Bourbon Cake Cookies (Soft, Chewy, Delicious) Chocolate Chip Cookies w/ Walnuts Strawberry Snickerdoodle Aesthetics- Small carryout space. They are always busy and the line can get super long. Parking- Metered parking is available in front of the building. However, it can be complicated to locate parking if they are busy. #PickyApproved #pickyfoodieapproved #dmvdesserts #pickyfodie #cookies #cake #liquorcakes

Yelp
Peach Cobbler Cinnamon Roll.... I never knew I needed this in my life and I can't stop thinking about it since I went.... Sooooo yummy....and massive!!! What I can't understand is the texture - how they managed to keep the cinnamon roll hot and fresh, the peaches oooey and gooey, and the star of the show - the flacky cobbler crust..OH MY!!!!!!! Nostalgic flavors all mixed in one bite...Every single bite bursting with yummmmmm...

Shakira W.

Yelp
Stopped in here on a Saturday to satisfy my sweet tooth and left with zero regrets! I saw a post about when the cinnamon rolls would come out the oven and went right over. This is a small bakery and three people are allowed in at a time, so there was a line, however it moved pretty quickly. I got the lemon blueberry cinnamon roll, that was still very warm. It was *chefs kiss.* Thing to note: they post the menu the night before on their website, and I highly recommend following their instagram to know when things come out the oven, and just for the visuals

Yelp
Sugar Vault NEVER misses! I raced from work on a Friday and ran into the bakery with 5 minutes to spacer before closing. The customer ahead of me took the last strawberry crunch rum cake and I truly thought all hope was lost since that's my go-to item. I knew I wanted the strawberry snickerdoodle cookie and grabbed that, then settled on the Amaretto Oreo cake. LAWD that thang was too good! I wish they sold the Oreo Amaretto cake more frequently. I was just overjoyed with this cake on a Friday night. BEWARE: You might want to eat their cakes in one sitting. The cookie was yummy as well but that Amaretto Oreo Cake was BOMB! Get in line and get ya self some!

Nancy R.

Yelp
Just like every other time I've come, no complaints. I try to arrive when they open to ensure I don't miss out on any desserts I want. The only thing I would change about about SVD is moving them to a larger location. I would love to be able to enjoy my dessert before getting home. But that also might be a bad thing lol. The service is always fast and welcoming.

Yelp
I just love this place and the atmosphere. I've been coming here for years. Love this place, desserts are always good, staff is always friendly and smiling.

Yelp
I finally made it here and to my surprise I was extremely disappointed... First, upon my arrival there was a crazy long line outside so for that line to form the desserts must be delicious! So I ordered 2 of the cheese cake banana pudding strawberry cinnamon roll and a bakers dozen. My total came to $120 something. The cheesecakes were delicious!! And worth the $17 they charged me for them. Honestly 1 was more than enough for my husband and I to share. The banana pudding, strawberries and cinnamon roll pieces paired so well...all my favorites. Now my cupcakes- unfortunately I was disappointed in them. I'm not sure how long they were in the box and sitting before me taking them but they were hard and stale. I was really disappointed. For what I paid for them, I was expecting them to be moist and melt upon the bite in my mouth! Lmaooooooooo!!!!!!!! So I reached out to the owner/Manager and Sam offered to have me pick up another dozen. I appreciated the effort to get my order right. So 4 stars it is... As long as I never have to stand in that line, I would definitely come here again for a cheese cake banana pudding strawberry cinnamon roll treat!

Kandace C.

Yelp
Triple Chocolate Cake with Rum? Pineapple Upside Down Cake? Strawberry Crunch Cake? Mini cheesecakes in every flavor? Cupcakes?? All varieties? Super rich? Hot warm and gooey chocolate chip cookies? Banana Pudding? In all different kinds of flavors? Cinnamon rolls in a wide variety of flavors fresh and hot out of the oven? Really good customer service that makes you come back for more every other week? I don't think this review is doing them justice, honestly. Everything is always fresh and flavorful and it's just all-in-all a good place to get your sugar fix. PLEASE NOTE: the menu changes *daily* so it's a good idea to check their website the morning of your visit to see if anything tickles your fancy (it will).

Jillian H.

Yelp
This place is just absolutely insane in the best way possible. Like the only place I'll pay $17 for a slice of cheesecake without thinking twice about it lol. Their menu changes daily and can be found on the main page of their website. My only complaint is the hours are limited and things sell out fast! Anytime I'm able to make it out I'm limited to the few items left, but I can typically snatch a banana pudding and a slice of cheesecake. Parking can be tricky depending on the time of day, there's no indoor seating and the inside only allows for a few people at a time, so keep all that in mind.

TaNeisha J.

Yelp
Sugar Vault gets me EVERY time. My daughter brings these cupcakes home -- specifically red velvet and chocolate -- to sabotage me. My discipline is non existent with sweets, especially chocolate cupcakes. The icing is smooth. I wish it was more buttery, but it'll do. The cake consistency could be a little more moist, but again, it's not horrible. I'll eat two in one sitting, so it must not be that bad. The decorations are also enticing. Depending on the flavor you get, you may have cookie crumbles or Kit Kat pieces sitting atop waiting for you to indulge. Give it a try.

Tia J.

Yelp
This place is delicious!!! Drove 40 mins to get here and it was absolutely worth the drive. It's a little pricey. But you get what you pay for and this is quality dessert! The cinnamon rolls are to die for. I got the red velvet Oreo cinnamon roll...OMG like how do you combine all of that deliciousness! The icing is perfection. My son got the fruity pebbles cake and it was pretty good. The banana pudding was so good. The red velvet cupcakes were good but not super fresh. The Kit Kat red velvet was very moist, but the regular red velvet wasn't as soft and fresh tasting. (That's why I gave 4 stars). Just skip the cupcakes. But DO NOT skip the cinnamon roll. And go early!!! I almost missed the cinnamon roll because I got there 1.5 hours after opening. Yes, it's that serious lol

Anttoni L.

Yelp
I mean, seriously what else can people say about this amazing Business it's a small location and minimum people can go inside at once but it's all worth the wait. the service the food and the Bible was amazing. I had the Oreo Cinnabon I believe and the red velvet Cinnabon and oh my God delicious went back three times.!

Kenyetta C.

Yelp
Sugar Vault Desserts is good. I came later in the day so almost everything was sold out. I got the Banana Pudding (inserts drool emoji), some kind of Chocolate Chip Cookie, and Zebracake Cheesecake. The zebra cake cheesecake was too sweet for me. The kids thought so as well. The cookie and banana pudding were good. If I'm ever in the area, I'll definitely slide by there again. As far as parking, there's a free parking lot off of Jefferson Street behind Bus Boys and Poets. That's were I parked. I'm not from the area so... It is only a two minute walk to the bakery. The bakery is located on a busy street and we could not park in front.

Chanel G.

Yelp
I often think about this place. The day I stopped by was completely unplanned but something in my spirit told me that I was in the neighborhood where the bakery was located. Not one single regret either. The team was very friendly. They even gave me a scoop of ice cream on top of what I ordered. Now, I personally ordered the Peach Cobbler cheesecake! Whew, Sweet baby Jesus that thing was so GOOD! My sweet tooth thanks you all!

Tra S.

Yelp
I finally decided to stop by the Sugar Vault after months of stalking their Instagram. After looking at their very limited online menu for the day, only one item (their cookie butter cheesecake) caught my eye. In the end I decided to pick up a cheesecake for myself and a few items for my family. I ultimately purchased 2 Neapolitan cheesecake cakes, 1 carrot cake banana pudding, 1 strawberry crunch rum cake and 1 cookie butter cheesecake which totaled over $85. The cheesecake was surprisingly a 3.5/5, although it could've been a 5/5 if there were either cookie butter or the actual cookies mixed into the batter. All of the cookie butter was only on the top of the cake, leaving the flavor profile predominately being plain cheesecake. I did sample the other items as well and I surprisingly enjoyed the Neapolitan (which is definitely enough for two people) even though it was very rich. The carrot cake banana pudding was delicious and the highlight of the night (a true 5/5), and this is coming from someone who doesn't particularly care for banana pudding. The rum cake, which definitely has rum in it, (especially seeing that it's sitting in an pool of liquid) was just ok to me. All in all I'd definitely stop by again, even though I wish that their menu was more extensive. FYI: I got their exactly at 12 on a Friday and there was already about 5 people ahead of me and when I left there were about 10 people in line and two people running across traffic to get in line. I can only imagine how busy it is on a Saturday.

Boobie D.

Yelp
because you all simply never fail me! i would come && get something everyday -not to mention the banana pudding im still looking for someone to make it better to not he messed with! always a vibe just all the smiles -nonetheless yal just as excited to talk about the sweetness as i am too be eating it again! my friend is geeked too!

Xavier I.

Yelp
I had the Oreo cupcake ($4.95) and the carrot cake slice ($13.50). The Oreo cupcake was an above average cupcake with a rating of 7/10 and the carrot cake slice was decent with a rating of 7.7.10. The pricing doesn't match the items at all, 13.50 for a single slice of carrot cake is bizarre and I've had plenty different carrot cakes that were way better for half the cost. If I'm going to pay ALOT for food then I expect that food to blow me away and this did not at all. Wouldn't return.

Jessica U.

Yelp
The Apple Pie Cheesecake was really good 9/10. I would definitely get that again. I actually would prefer it warm but to each their own. I also got the strawberry banana pudding which was good maybe. 7.5/10. Probably wouldn't get it again. My issue and the reason for the drop of the star is the fact that they run out of a large portion of the menu really quickly. I don't know why you would be open until 5 and the majority of your menu is gone by 2pm.

Sharna B.

Yelp
I haven't been since the pandemic started. So I finally had time to drive from Baltimore for some treats. I arrive a bit early so I waited until 12. There was one gentleman in front of me before the doors open. They were still setting up and I noticed the cake I wanted wasn't ready. The cashier stated 10 minutes and there another lady that looked at me as if I shouldn't have asked a question. I sat in my car for 20 minutes and waited and when I entered the items I wanted were available. The Oreo cheesecake cake, the strawberry crunch rum cake, snicker doodle banana pudding. The Oreo cheesecake cake as $17.50 a slice, the strawberry rum was $13.50, banana pudding was$14.00. The cheesecake cake was very good and flavorful the cheesecake was creamy. The strawberry rum cake was good but lacked a bit on the strawberry, I thought the rum would over power the cake and it didn't. Now for the banana pudding it didn't have an adequate amount of bananas or cookies. The pudding was lacking flavor as well. The cinnamon wasn't too powerful.i really wanted to try the Oreo one but they was serving that one. All in all was worth the drive but there is room for improvement. The customer service from the cashier I encountered was very professional this go around. Past experiences wasn't so pleasant and the baker behind the scenes lacked as well. The overall bakery is very walking was clean. If you're going to open at 12 you should be ready completely at that time. I know some items come out later like cinnamon rolls but cold items at least should be on time.

Promis C.

Yelp
This bakery is a personal family favorite I could literally (*and have) spend a bag at this place! I haven't featured all of my visits, but every item I have ever experienced has been decadent and delicious I must say, the "Stuffed Cheesecake" series was an ERA! Seriously,, Who puts those two things together !?!? I lowkey need her to run that stuffed sweet potato cheesecake back , because it was possibly one of my favorite desserts of ALL time . You can't really tell, but the cookie was the size of my face! And the cinnamon bun needs to be shared because it's HUGE, Filling, and served hot . The owner switches the menu up often. So, when you see something posted as available, go get it ‍while you can! @__imjusthungry

Tymeia T.

Yelp
Omg so their desserts are amazing. My previous review just expressed my frustration with the business always being closed. But babyyyy you are going to pay a higher price for their desserts. They are delicious though. Their red velvet cupcake is the best I ever had. I would order 4 lol hehe and eat them all by myself. The banana pudding is good also ( they have different flavors) this isn't a grocery store bakery so you are going to have to accept the price. It's worth it. Also visit their website for their current hours of operation.

Rebecca S.

Yelp
I finally have been able to get around to come here after staring at their Instagram page for months. Hands down, they can just get me to direct deposit my paycheck to them as they are in there churning out miracles. This is not only the best bakery in the DMV, but they have ascended to being in the top 3 of all time. The creativity and flavors are a thing to behold. Not only did I go one day, drop $130, but guess who woke up knowing they about to drive past the gym and head back there to do it all over again. The Twix brownie, strawberry cupcake, cheesecakes, and cinnamon rolls are insanely great. Their desserts forces you to reevaluate other others in your life where you are accepting less than. In 54 minutes, I'm there again to grab a cinnamon roll.

Tracy S.

Yelp
LLLissssennn!! I finally made it there and they did NOT disappoint! The young lady was friendly and professional, and the shop was neat and adorable. I ordered the cookie monster cookie, fruity pebbles cupcake, pecan banana pudding and a red velvet cupcake. I didn't look around much because I wanted to stay focused on what I came for. Howeverrrrr, I already know what I am ordering next time (strawberry rum infused crumb cake)! I only took a small sample of each of my items because they had Cousins Maine Lobster food truck sitting in front of their store. That was brilliant! I got lunch from there and was full. I tell you, I'm gonna be lovingly looking over at that bag in my passenger seat (buckled in for safety, of course) the whole way home!

Wesley H.

Yelp
Pretty good desserts, and yes you have to pay for quality however I think they are a bit overpriced. It's nice for an occasional visit. If you give them a visit and they have the strawberry cheesecake banana pudding get it. I also enjoyed the strawberry crunch cake. The least favorite item I got was the Oreo cinnamon bun, which was ok and paired well with coffee. Give them a shot and find your favorite items.

Mel M.

Yelp
The creativity and yumminess in each dessert is hard to beat. The service is always with a smile and inviting to all. You will not be disappointed if you want to try something new and delicious

Derrick S. T.

Yelp
Was out having an excursion day I Hyattsville with the wife.We passed by this space, and she had me turn around because she heard of these great black owned bakery. Unfortunately, we were there a little past 5, but to our delight, they still let us in. The place is small but pleasant. It's a little pricey but worth every penny.

Rachel M.

Yelp
I have been wanting to go here for years but never feel like making the drive up north (cuz 95 north is the worst!) but I was heading up to Baltimore for a game and had to stop in. They are currently doing doorside orders and sell out quickly so the earlier that you can get there the better. I was hoping to get a slice of strawberry crunch rum cake but they were out when I go there so I went for the pecan pie stuffed sweet potato cheesecake and it was heavenly. The pecan pie middle was gooey and perfect and the cheesecake had the perfect amount of sweet potato flavor and great texture. I wish this little spot was a lot closer so I could try more things but if I'm ever in the area again, I will be back!

Danette D.

Yelp
Stopped here while visiting Md. and when I got here there was a line and it seemed to move at a reasonable pace. They only bake a specific number of items for the day, so I would highly suggest you get there early to ensure you can get your shot at the most wanted desserts. A few things I wanted had sold out before I could get my hands on them but I was able to try the blueberry/lemon cinnamon roll, a Jameson cupcake with a delicious buttercream icing, a cupcake topped with a mini cinnamon roll and the peach cobbler all of which were delicious. The blueberry/lemon cinnamon roll was out of this world and it had the right amount of lemon flavoring

Brittany T.

Yelp
I got the Strawberry Crunch Cheesecake and Red Velvet Maple Pecan cupcake. Super rich and delicious cupcakes and cakes. And the pecans were perfect! I love how they give a huge portion as a cake slice. Will definitely be coming back to try other desserts and flavors and treat myself (and loved ones) again! Pro tip: their menu changes daily and they are only open Thurs-Saturday for 5 hours each day or until supplies last. I've seen a long line on the weekends when I drive home from work.

Tysha O.

Yelp
I was so excited to get to this spot. Traveled from Dallas, TX to hang out. And was able to finally make it in. The red velvet was bomb. The strawberry crunch was very delicious but too much for me. I'm simple. Also tried the original banana pudding. It was good but a lil different from how I eat it in TX. Wld highly recommend this establishment. I'll be back. Great products!

Jon S.

Yelp
I got their flavor of the day cupcake which was a fruity pebble KitKat. The cake was soft and moist, frosting a touch too sweet for me but still good. I actually liked the crunch that was added with the fruity pebbles but the Kit Kat they laid on top was very stale and cardboard tasting. The chocolate chip cookies are good and have lots of chocolate chips, but I prefer my cookies a little bit overdone so would have liked a little more caramelization during the bake to the bottom and edges of the cookie. I also got a cinnamon roll which for those of you not aware is only 1 per customer. This was the best thing I purchased. Great flavor but pricey for just 1. All in all good sweets but perhaps only for special occasions for me.

Charnika P.

Yelp
Been here several times which I hate to admit. But the Sugar Vault is the truth. Seriously. Get your mind right for a few things before you go: 1. There will def be a line esp if you go on a Friday, Saturday or a Holiday. Periodt! You will wait at least 15 mins to get into the store. 2. You are probably gonna spend and purchase way more than you anticipated. Why? Because your eyes will be bigger than your stomach and everything is great. 3. Cinnamon roll wait is more like 30 mins minimum on Saturday and it absolutely will be a line. Highly advise that you get there before 12:30 pm. If you are planning to get other items, I suggest you get those before getting in the line for a cinnamon roll otherwise by the time you get inside most of the treats will be gone. With afromention stated, my recommendation is that you must try one of the following: - any of the cheesecakes - red velvet anything - carrot cake - cinnamon rolls - banana pudding

Yelp
2nd time being here and i hate the parking! Ok so secondly, the desserts are good. I got the crunch cupcake and the cake was fluffy and had a few strawberries in it which was great. The icing confused me a little because i wasn't sure if was giving the ice cream feel or not. BUT it was still verrrry good! This place is good if you need a "lil something sweet to eat" because you get your fix and you're good for a while.

Yelp
My first visit this weekend. I got two cupcakes and both were dry and disappointing. The red velvet cupcake, topped with cookie dough and a nutella flavored icing, was pretty dry and the cookie dough was literally eating some mediocre, pre-fabbed? cookie dough. The nutella icing could've been a lot more flavorful - I wouldn't have been aware it was nutella. The pecan pie cupcake was even more disappointing. The cupcake was a dry chocolate cupcake with a piece of small pecan pie on it. I could've made a better cupcake myself, I'm sad to say. I wouldn't get the cupcakes again. 2 stars for the cupcake. However, my partner got the cinnamon roll and banana pudding and he says both were excellent. However, the price was very high, $14.5 for a single cinnamon roll.

Yelp
3.5 stars...please allow me to explain Twas about 2pm and they were almost out of a few favorite items. Sigh... I took my friend so we can indulge on sweets after a workout. Now their sweets is appeasing to the eye, but they are way too expensive. So basically the cupcakes are all show and no action ( no taste.) I had a cheesecake cupcake, it was good but too soft. I like my cheesecake to be a little dense. It was sweet but something I really wont get a second time. Their cupcakes are okay but not worth $4. All the fufu stuff is a bit over the top. My friend got banana egg nog cupcake. Icing was delicious, the cinnamon roll tasted store bought and the cake part was too crumbly. Customer service decent. Woman behind the counter seemed preoccupied. Ill tell you this, its definitely NOT worth waiting in line on a Saturday. Place seems a bit over rated and I hate to admit Sprinkles is better. And when you pay with a credit card that tip option come up and I decline. You gotta be more customer service savvy if you want customers to tip you. Another bummer: there arent any bathrooms :(

Yelp
Local, Small business minority-women owned, and....a dreamland of some of the most amazing looking baked goods! Sugar Vault Desserts is the kind of place that speaks to my heart! Artisan baked goods with a creative flare and eye-appeal...that you won't find around at any other bakery in the DMV!....And, more importantly....it taste just as good as it looks!! This small storefront, located in the Hyattsville, MD - Art Deco District, sells a variety of mouth drooling Instagram-worthy baked goods. You walk-in and you can't help but to notice the displays of Instagram-worthy cookies, cake slices, chocolate cover strawberries, pretzels and cupcakes whose decadent flavors include those inspired by ice cream flavor-like profiles, Girl Scout cookie combinations, lemon, black raspberry, key lime pie, chocolate mocha, southern down-home classics and even some items infused with alcohol! Upon entering, I was immediately greeted. And, let me tell you....my eyeballs where everywhere! Everything in the store grabs your attention immediately!! I mean I could barely focus or make a choice between all the variety....which changes weekly by the way. Thanks to the cashier for describing each item and assisting me. Her customer service was on point. I narrowed down my options and decided to try: * LEMON-RASPBERRY CHEESECAKE CUPCAKE -- One word....HELLALICIOUS!! A great classic cheese with folds of bright lemon flavor coming through. The raspberry topping completely complimented this cupcake perfectly. * BAILEY'S SALTED CARAMEL CHOCOLATE PECAN PIE CUPCAKE -- YUP!...You heard me!! That title is correct....all that goodness piled into a cupcake. All I can say is "Laaaawwd Have Mercy!" It was love at first sight and immediately caught my attention when I arrived. I knew I had to try it. So, I found a corner space in Sugar Vault and decided to dive in. First impressions, great cupcake overall. The cake was moist, not to dense and full of chocolate cake flavor. There were a few chocolate chips in there too. The icing was light though and something was missing. I think it needed more of a vanilla flavor, but it was topped-off with pecans, caramel, and chocolate sauce which revived the icing and brought it alive. Now take all of this and you add a slice of a mini-pecan pie and a shot of Bailey's Irish Creme!!??....SAY WHAT!!? Where they do that at? I couldn't do anything at this point of eating this thing, but to wave the white flag! This cupcake completely exceeded my taste buds and hearts desire. In all, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and every bit of the calories! The baked goods are delicious, the staff is very friendly, and the price point is not that bad either. The only downer (let down) from my entire Sugar Vault experience was that they don't sell milk or coffee! Eating amazing desserts like this deserves more than just water or sodas as options to compliment the experience! Besides, there is nothing better than milk with cookies or baked goods...imho. I will definitely be back to try some of the other selections. Thanks Sugar Vault for an amazing foodie moment and now, making my summer beach goals even harder to reach!! lol

Yelp
Small Business but the Prices are Expensive for some of the Food to not have the flavor that is needed. I have supported them in the past but lately the desserts aren't tasty anymore, hopefully the Summer menu will be different this year?

Yelp
So yelp peeps..I seriously struggled on what to rate this establishment...Im giving it a solid 4 stars, but its closer to 3.5 rating....and please, allow me to explain... During my visit, the customer service was very friendly and knowledgeable...great energy! They answered my questions, rung up my relatively large order accurately, and boxed everything up neatly and efficiently...round of applause! However, my friends and I didn't truly enjoy any of the cupcakes (and they are serious foodies!!!)..it was almost a case of all-show and no substance....and that pains me to write that! I made the drive all the way there, very eager, and highly anticipating getting my cupcake life, but unfortunately the cake portion was tasteless, and some were even dry. The frosting was light, but definitely made after the namesake (sugar vault). The cupcake aesthetics and described flavors are a foodies' dream, but the taste wasn't truly impressive. Now...for those cheesecake cupcakes....those were the truth, and honestly the only reason why I rate this place 4 stars. We had the strawberry cheesecake and the Oreo red velvet cheesecake...[insert slow clap here]. Overall, I think its worth the experience and the photo op..but if you're serious about your baked goods, I don't know if you'll be wowed by these cupcakes.

Yelp
For months now, I've been stalking Sugar Vault's desserts on social media. I've been salivating at every picture that comes across Instagram, until one day I just couldn't resist. It didn't hurt that I had a reason to go, because only the Lord knows that I don't need the sugar. A friend of mine was celebrating her birthday and that gave me the perfect reason to buy a dozen of cupcakes. I already knew where it's located and thankfully, I found a parking spot right in front of the business. Hoorah!! As I walked in, the wonderful smells of a bakery tickled my nose. I was in love!! It was a Friday afternoon so it wasn't too busy. I bought a dozen of assorted cupcakes. Since it was for the dinner the next day, the young lady behind the counter told me to not put them in the refrigerator. She stated that the cupcakes would dry out. Duly noted! I also bought an oreo cookie cheesecake for myself. I couldn't wait to get back to my car. Before I hit the interstate, that cheesecake was in my belly. So moist..so yummy! The velvety texture of the cheesecake was to die for. Gosh, could you imagine having to wait until the next day to eat one of the cupcakes? It was torture but I survived. My friends were all excited to pick out their flavor and dig in. Everyone loved the cupcakes. Every single last one of those cupcakes was amazing!! Sugar Vault definitely hit the spot and exceeded all of our expectations. Not only do they look good but the desserts taste good as well. They will always get my business.

Yelp
A friend had one of their cheesecake cupcakes here and loved it, so we decided to visit and try their other cupcakes (they have Regular, Premium and Specialty). We parked in a nearby lot (Parking Lot 5) and walked to this spot. There was a lady at the entrance (I guess she was making sure the biz had enough space for folks to maneuver as the shop is small). You can see the different cupcakes they have (all behind a glass). The cheesecake cupcakes were to the right and the other cupcakes to the left of the register. I decided to get 2 cupcakes: Bailey's Infused Oreo Brownie Cupcake - Even though I did like this one, I wished it had a little more Bailey's. Also, the top of the cupcake was not as soft as I thought it would be - I still ate it though as I enjoyed the cream on top of it. The layers were cupcake, then cream, then a brownie and an oreo cookie. As a cupcake is already a lot for me to eat, I did not taste the oreo cookie or brownie (it was just a lot for me in terms of preference). Salted Caramel Red Velvet - Wow, this was certainly delicious - loved the salted caramel cream on top and the cupcake was moist throughout every bit I ate. I would certainly have that again. I did see a lot of patrons visit when we were there. It was good to know they do have some seating within the place (high stools) even though it is not many (better than none, right?). If I am in the area again (probably will be), I would like to try their cheesecake cupcakes, since my friend commented that the one she had was better than the cupcakes she tried. Next Time.

Yelp
I've had my eye on Sugar Vault for the longest. Next to a good brunch, dessert is my 2nd best friend. After going to brunch nearby, a group of friends and I decided to venture on over to Sugar Vault for some dessert to take home. We arrived around 1 pm on a Saturday and by then, the selection was slim. I ended up getting two mini cheesecakes: cookies and cream and strawberry. I really enjoyed both of them but I think strawberry was my favorite. I was really hoping to try the banana pudding but they were out by the time I got there. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They answered all of our questions and did their best to get us in and out so the shop wouldn't be crowded. They had more cupcakes in the oven but it would've been an hour wait. My advice when visiting on a Saturday is to get there as soon as they open or within that first hour of opening if you want the best selection. I plan to return on a weekday or maybe I'll just go earlier next time.

Yelp
This place is a great gem in the Hyattsville area. They have a wide variety of innovative and delicious desserts. The daily menu varies and they sell out super early so it's best to go there when they open. It's a small store so there might be a wait especially on Saturdays but it's definitely worth it.

Yelp
I had been wanting to try this place for some time. I have to say I'm a little disappointed. I got 3 items that came to an excess $45. Banana pudding, a slice of loaded cherry cheese cake and a slice of strawberry crunch rum cake. The banana pudding was nothing special (moms is way better). The cheesecake was way to firm but again it was basic. Now the strawberry crunch rum cake was the bomb. The best thing out of all three. I'm not cheap but I do think the price I paid was a little high for a slice but it was damn good.

Yelp
I have been here twice. The cupcakes are really good but I'm a cake girl and I'm not loving the cake. It's very heavy. I enjoy the frosting which is why I come back. Every fatty or foodie loves a good treat. Its 4.00 and some change for one cupcake which is why I don't come often. I can't buy into this. What makes it a little more interesting is that when you walk in, you simply ask for the cupcake and then when you're getting ready to pay the cashier asks you to add a tip when you pay with a credit card. I don't remember them asking the first time but then again, I may have paid cash. Which I think is what happened. Today will probably be my last day coming. As with all my reviews, I'm a big big big customer service person. Asking for a tip for doing your job is so tacky and it makes me think of people asserting that young people want something for nothing. It's not only tacky but not a way to show your love for this business. You want me to pay 4$ for a cupcake and then tip a girl for packing a cupcake in a box? I'm so lost. Perhaps the taste of the cupcake was ruined by the nerve to ask for a tip. I will admit, I tipped. Why? Well, I'm not exactly sure, it was a 3 minute interaction. I will say, $4 for an okay cupcake and then just okay service where you want a tip? I'm good!
