Google
Everything here is vegan and from what I’ve tired they all taste SO good!!! The tiramisu is my favorite. The only thing stopping me from giving a 5 star is their pricing. They are very expensive. A small cup of the tiramisu is $8. Even their smaller desserts are so expensive. I have been to many vegan bakeries and they are by far the most expensive. If their prices were lower, I would be coming here everyday!!

Google
I've visited a handful of times and have never been disappointed. Their donuts, cakes, pies, cinnamon rolls and ESPECIALLY the oatmeal cream pie are all fantastic (and vegan!) The owner and staff are all super friendly, wonderful people. They also sell special cookies to support rescues or other great organizations. Such a great addition to the area! Highly recommend!

Google
This business did an absolute wonderful job making this wonderful cake for my girlfriends Birthday! ❤ Such a wonderful job in fact that we have future birthdays coming up and we will be having all of our cakes made by Sugarbuzz Bakery! Thank you for not only your professionalism but making us feel like your part of the family because on this day you were literally in our home helping us celebrate someone's life. ❤ See you soon! Fyi.... I come into sugarbuzz bakery often and they have the best treats a must stop if you are vegan. You won't be disappointed!!!

Google
Staff were incredibly nice. They made our wedding cake exactly how we wanted and it tasted great. Even the non-vegan guests enjoyed it.

How is it that I didn’t no about this place sooner? The staff is AMAZING and so was the cake. I was running behind and needed to get a cake for my nephew. And even though it was 5:55pm and they closed at 6:00pm they stayed open just for me to pick up the cake. Sugar Buzz has gained a permanent customer here. The cake was soooooo good, but the experience was Perfect. I recommend EVERYONE to try this bakery out.

Google
Good vegan pastries! I ordered paczki from here and it was very good also. It’s nice having a vegan bakery close by, and they offer many options based on your kind of sweet tooth. I haven’t ordered anything custom but I’d keep them in mind for the future.

Google
I’ve had a few of the desserts here including the lemon bar and the coffee cake. All the items I’ve tried are delicious. I have a dairy allergy so I love being able to go to a bakery where I can eat any of the items I want. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the pricing. Their pricing is high for the size of the items. I would give them 5 stars if pricing was lower. I still recommend to anyone even if they are not vegan.

Google
As soon as I took a bite out of the vegan donut it was the bomb.com. I'm returning soon on a sweets run for my friends so they can try these new local treats. And I'm so placing an order for Fat Tuesday! So happy to have more variety and tasty vegan options in my area.

Yelp
This review is long overdue. I came to SugarBuzzBakery specifically for the oatmeal creme pie. It's huge and delicious. I definitely want another one. I just wish there was more of the creme filling. They are closed until December 1st. I'll return for the oatmeal creme pie and a few other treats.

Yelp
It's right next to chipotle. Cute bee loving spot. Grabbed two lemon bars, one blueberry lemon scone a small mini peanut butter cup and a blueberry thumb print cookie. The mini peanut butter cup is made with dark chocolate and thus the chocolate is harder. The paper is a bit of challenge to remove. It wasn't too bad. The lemon bars were really bad, super dense, the lemon cream didn't have enough lemon it it and the bottom was too heavy and dense. The blueberry lemon scone tasted good, the scone itself was soft and not crumbly, still good, but had no berries in the scone itself, only outside. The blueberry thumb print cookie was meh. The scone was the better flavored of all of the items, but nothing was that good or worth coming back for at all.

Yelp
I was thrilled to try this bakery. It's almost impossible to find vegan baked goods in regular bakery, so having one that is fully vegan is simply amazing. I got few items to try: tiramisu, oatmeal cream pie, peanut butter blondie, chocolate death ray slice, redpop velvet cake. Tiramisu: I still remember regular tiramisu taste and consistency since that was a staple dessert in our house. This one was good but not as close to original. A little too sweet, there was a slight coconut taste and the cream was grainy. It was very good but still not as the original. Oatmeal cream pie: first off all, it's huge and delicious. Cookie flavor is amazing, the only small compliant is that the cream could be softer and a little more of it. Peanut butter blondie: very good, little pieces of crushed peanuts add nice flavor. Chocolate death cake: very good, nice crunchy bottom, cream inside the cake not heavy and very tasty. Redpop velvet cake: I wasn't fan of the cream and frosting flavor so I had to remove it but I liked the cake, it was very moist and had a nice flavor. Overall, I was impressed, liked majority of the items and will definitely be back to try more items since they have pretty big selection.

Yelp
SugarBuzz is the newest sweets place killing my diet... they opened up a few months ago in Ferndale in a pretty low-key location off of Woodward so don't go too fast you might miss it. I've been a few times now and I've been the only person in there each time. They are a vegan bakery but don't let that fool you into thinking you won't get fat as hell hanging out there... The first item suggested to me was the "Chocolate Death Ray" Cake... it was stupid rich, a must try for chocolate lovers. Since then I've tried a few more items, macarons, and frosted sugar cookies... all with very fresh tasting ingredients (which are listed on the site for your convenience). Prices are on par with any other specialty bakery you might go to so check them out and get something for yourself and your vegan people.

Yelp
I was so excited to stop in at SugarBuzz and ordered so many goodies! Everything was delicious and fresh even though I didn't eat everything the day of. Loved the oatmeal cream pie and the rice crispy treat!

Yelp
I would give this place 10 stars if that was an option. My wedding was in 2 weeks and I couldn't find a bakery who would custom make vegan cakes on such short notice. I found Sugarbuzz online and decided to give it a shot based on the reviews. Let me tell you there was no time for cake tasting. So we basically just ordered two 10" cakes on blind faith. I had sent in pictures of how I wanted it. We kept it simple with minimal icing and some decor on top. They turned out to be the BEST CAKES EVER. I have never had a more delicious chocolate cake- vegan or non vegan. I can't thank the team enough for coming through on such short notice and making our day. Everyone at the wedding was raving about the cakes. First of many many more orders from here. Thank you so much and kudos to you guys!!

Yelp
Back again! Check previous reviews for other sweets- my favorite so far is probably the Michigander bar, oatmeal creme pie, and the chocolate cake. Today i thought they'd have lemon bars but they didn't so i decided to try a coconut macaroon and a (day old) Boston creme donut. The coconut macaroon tasted like sweetened coconut and frosting which was cool and it looked cute. The donut was kind of underwhelming tbh. Maybe i ate it too fast but the chocolate and the filling didn't really pop out much and it was kinda oily. If you're a super fan of vegan donuts check out Rolais's Caribbean donuts at eastern market on the weekends, donuts are all they do and they do it well! I also of course got an oatmeal creme pie

Yelp
The staff was super friendly and there was a lot of variety which was nice! My husband and I ordered the lemon bar and the cookie creme pie. The cookie was ah-mazing! The lemon bar was okay - I wouldn't buy it again though. Because there is so much variety, including a Faygo RedPop red velvet cake. I'd be interested in coming back and trying something else!

Yelp
While I was in town teaching a class, someone mentioned SugarBuzz Bakery saying it was a vegan bakery. Well I had to check this out, it's hard to find vegan pastries and baked goods, (I'm still on the look out for the perfect vegan blueberry muffin without GMO ingredients which eludes me even now) so I had to check this place out. I ordered the oatmeal cream cookie, red velvet cake, and coffee cake. I wanted to order more, but the cakes were about $7 each. The oatmeal cookie was $3, which I thought was a little too sweet for my taste. However the vegan red velvet cake tasted amazing! It was still soft and moist despite sitting in the counter and you wouldn't even tell the difference between the real vs the vegan version, it is almost spot on taste, texture-wise. The coffee cake was made with the perfect softness and crunchy-ness on the outer parts of the cake. I was impressed with this place, although it is quite pricey, thus limiting my orders to a few rather than trying to sample everything. It's kinda pricey, but pretty good quality of desserts...although some are a little too sweet for me. Will have to visit this place again and see try every dessert one by one. But I like what I've seen and tried so far and can't wait to try it again.

Michael F.

Yelp
Incredibly impressed with the wide offering of vegan pastries and baked goods. Was not expecting to have many gluten free options (one of my children has an allergy) but was surprised to find several of the items I had my eye on were naturally made this way! My favorite was the Michigander bar, but EVERYTHING we had was delicious. If you're in metro Detroit and looking for vegan treats, this should be your go-to! Delicious food, incredibly good service and exceptionally kind staff.

Katy S.

Yelp
Ok I've been meaning to come here since they opened and OMGGGG what was I doing??? So good. Parking was super easy, there is parking in front on Woodward and in the back there is a lot. The woman helping was so sweet and informative. I asked what their best sellers were I ended up trying an oatmeal pie, chocolate cake, and two day old donuts. Everything was so good. I also grabbed a couple of drinks from the cooler, they carry Ollipop which is just the best. A little pricey but worth it!! I can't wait to come back and try more of their vegan treats.

Alex K.

Yelp
Easy five. I was fortunate enough to try some of their treats before they opened, and you'd be hard-pressed to find anything that doesn't slap. Vegan? No one would know. I guarantee that. More proof that vegan food =/= kale and grass. The Faygo Red Pop Cake is honestly the best cake I've ever tried. A definite will-be staple in Ferndale.

Jenn S.

Yelp
We have been to SugarBuzz bakery several times. Their baked goods and customer service are top notch. They also are continuously cleaning and sanitizing on the occasions I've been there and all employees are wearing masks. Things we've had and love; chocolate death ray cake, coffee cake, lemon bar, danish and carrot cake. All vegan all decadent and delicious. We feel lucky to have a completely vegan bakery in our neck of the woods! They also sell whole cakes!

Mae C.

Yelp
Omg, my favorite new bakery in Ferndale! Between us, wife and I can't have anything with wheat or dairy, so the many gluten free vegan options made it easy for us to find something we'd both enjoy! The chickpea blondie in particular was delicious!

Katherine E.

Yelp
I tried Sugarbuzz about a week or 2 after it opened. I got the chocolate cake, and it definitely wasn't worth the price that I paid for it. The frosting had little clumps of butter lodged in it. Weird? I knew they had just opened, so I decided to give them another shot. I got the lemon bar and an oatmeal creme pie. The lemon bar wasn't very good.. the flavor was a bit off IMO. The oatmeal pie was decent. I was vegan for a couple of years in the past, and the deserts have come a long way. I really hope that they either lower their prices, because there are most definitely better options out there.

Andrew S.

Yelp
Not a vegan but was in town visiting friends that are. They showed us this place and I got a slice of Faygo red pop red velvet cake. It was very good the frosting was a little "runny" and very sweet. Still delicious and I couldn't tell it was vegan whatsoever. Glad we stopped in to give it a try.

Ron B.

Yelp
Got to bring some delicious items home today and not being a vegan myself, they taste just as good, or better than the real thing. The Faygo and Better Made crossovers were a delight!

Ed W.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible food and even worse was the service. It tasted like the food was 2 days old, when I complained they acted like they didn't care at all. The employees and owner were too busy talking about how they agree with not serving the police like the bakery in Detroit did. Unprofessional and rude, I will never be back.

Kesha D.

Yelp
I bought a selection of cookies, cakes, brownies and rice crispy treats and everything was soo good! I would go back just for the oatmeal cream pie and death ray chocolate cake alone, however everything was delicious. I am not vegan, but love a baked good and SugarBuzz Bakery went above and beyond my expectations. You can taste the card and love that goes into their food! Stop by to try something outside the box and inside their delicious counter!!!

Michael T.

Yelp
A great location, with great eats! This will continue to be one of my go-to places in the years to come. From the delicious berry Danish pastries, oatmeal pies and slices of cake, there is something for everyone. Friendly staff, clean and a great small business to support!

Jean B.

Yelp
Love this place! This is the Vegan bakery we've been waiting for. They also have vegan & gluten free items too.

Nicole M.

Yelp
Ordered the cookies and cream cake pops! Soo delicious!! I'm not a vegan, and couldn't tell any difference from any other desert I've ever had. Great service, and they were set up in a super safe way for covid. Would recommend to anyone!!

Lisah M.

Yelp
Vegan baking has come a long way and SugarBuzz is doing it better than I've ever had. We sampled several items. The Faygo Redpop cake was divine. And it's a good thing I live 2 hours away because I would stop in every single day for an oatmeal cream pie.

Jessica L.

Yelp
I would give SugarBuzz five stars based on their brownies alone. I'm not sure what sorcery is used to create them, but they are, hands down, my favorite brownie on earth, vegan or otherwise. Every time I go here I try something new, and nothing has disappointed me so far. They have the classics, and have some fun new rotating things it seems every time I come in. As someone who eats *a lot* of vegan treats all across the metro Detroit area, I can confidently say that SugarBuzz is my favorite spot. Besides their amazing desserts, I have to shout them out for their helpfulness and integrity. I wanted to order a really specific kind of birthday cake for my boyfriend's birthday, and after talking with them about it, they let me know that because they hadn't made this kind of cake before, they wouldn't be comfortable charging the amount they would have to charge to create it knowing it would be their first try at it, and they went a step further and connected me to a baker who could do this for me. They truly went above and beyond here.

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
So good! Our family of 4 stopped in after a visit to the zoo. We each picked out our own treat (I had the rice krispie treat) and everyone enjoyed what they got. I appreciate that this bakery offers vegan treats. I definitely need to go back to try the chocolate cake and Michigander bar.

Micah C.

Yelp
Great options all across the board. I try not to come weekly. But you definitely will. The carrot cake is amazing. And don't forget to grab a cinnamon roll on your way out.

Michael S.

Yelp
High end, delicious baked goods that happen to be plant based. I particularly recommend the brownies and apple pie cruffins. I operate an Airbnb and feature SugarBuzz treats for guests. I don't even mention they are vegan, and guests love the treats. (I noticed a negative review that was obviously based on the poster's political views and not the quality of the baked goods - it's scrumptious stuff.)

Jen A.

Yelp
Picked up some donuts from SugarBuzz (I'm vegan) to share at work and got very positive feedback from my colleagues. Can't wait to try some other treats soon.

Tina L.

Yelp
Yo! Sad I didn't take and photos of our desserts. Got the oatmeal creme pie, carrot cake, and chocolate cake - listed in preferential order. Almost didn't get the oatmeal creme pie but sooooo glad we did - best out of the three for sure! Give it a try! Delicious! And my friend is vegan which is why we came here and almost all (if not all) of their desserts are vegan!

Jacinta W.

Yelp
This was a gem to find while trying to cure my sweet tooth. Everything is vegan and had a great flavor. I tried the chocolate cake, red pop cake, peanut butter blondie, banana bread, and the Michigander. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the ingredients, the store was clean, and I, overall, had a great experience. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Lindsey W.

Yelp
I picked up a few treats for my sister in laws sprinkle and let me tell you they did not disappoint. I got the carrot cake, tiramisu and red velvet and they were all just simply amazing!!! I'm dairy free and these desserts were a slice of heaven. They are a little pricey and probably wouldn't go all the time but for a special occasion it definitely was worth it. They comply with covid precautions and I definitely felt safe stopping in this cute shop!

Valerie E.

Yelp
Everything was delicious! I'm not vegan but I loved all the things we tried. We ate them still three days later and they were all just as good. Got the oatmeal cream pie, brownie, s'mores pie and pink frosted sugar cookie. Yum!

C E.

Yelp
Some of the best vegan desserts I've ever had! The no-bake cookies with espresso were phenomenal!

Sally N.

Yelp
The bake goods are stale and contain way to much sugar.

Jessica M.

Yelp
I stopped by early on a weekend before they got busy. The place is super cute and clean inside. I appreciate the extra effort into pre packaging things to minimize contact during these Covid times. Everything was fresh and delicious! Highly recommend even if you are a non-vegan treat lover like myself!

S H.

Yelp
Stopped by for the first time today with my husband and 93 year old father on his first outing in almost 12 months. We took several desserts home and, honestly, wish we had bought more! They were great. It was refreshing to have decadent and delicious vegan desserts that are rich and moist with great flavor. A very positive culinary experience....can't wait to go back.

Samantha S.

Yelp
Love Love LOVE SugarBuzz and so does my picky niece who has an egg allergy. Her favorite were the cake pops and I love the oatmeal cream pies! Can't wait to try more good treats from SugarBuzz
