Thank you dearly to the new and improved Sugarcane team for their immense hospitality. Sugarcane is a Caribbean American institution! The food has been consistent for two decades, the drinks are praiseworthy, and the vibe is always a good time. Pull up at the bar to dine or watch the game; or settle into the main dining room for authentic Caribbean cuisine. This is the place you bring folks who visit NYC and want to have a memorable Caribbean dining experience. Sugarcane will forever be a New York landmark and I am thrilled to know that they have renovated and reinvented themselves. BTW, there is a dope Happy Hour with drinks starting at $8!!!!!!!!! PULL UP AND ENJOY!!!

Sugarcane is such a vibe. I love this place and the food is great. I ordered the salmon 🍣 with Chardonnay. It was packed with flavor and of course paired with a delicious Rhum Punch. Sheena was our waitress she was kind and very attentive. I will be going again.

Pretty great night celebrating my girl. I had the jerk salmon and I won’t say I’ll try it again , but my friends jerk chicken and snapper fish with the cilantro sauce thing was sooo good . The coconut rice was good too and the plantains were so great . The drinks are strongggg! Not bad at all as an overall experience.

Yoo, I kid you not this place did not disappoint at all !! Everything that was ordered was so delicious. We ordered the oxtail with two sides, the red snapper Trinidadian style and shrimp.. everything had its own taste and was amazing 💯💯 those oxtails were so juicy and succulent I was full but kept eating because it kept calling me 🤣🤣 I forgot what drinks we ordered but they were good as well. Will definitely be back to try more 🙌🏾 Also shout out to the waiter I didn't get his name but he was so attentive and very nice 💯💯

Fourth time to this restaurant! Food was delicious as usual. Our server Richard was friendly and attentive. My only complaint is that drink sizes have decreased but the price increased a lot. Overall, tasty food and we had a good experience.

This restaurant is mediocre at best. The servers were nice and the vibes chill, but if all I wanted was nice people and a chill vibe I would go to a lounge or club. Above all this is supposed to be a restaurant and the food was a MISS. I ordered the oxtails with rice and peas, macaroni pie, and a side of potato salad. My husband ordered the Jambolasi Snapper with rice and peas and steamed broccoli. My oxtails were chewy which indicates that it’s not fresh and my husband’s snapper was nicely flavored, but not fresh and his broccoli was soft/mushy. We were told that the rice and peas was finished and given the kale coconut rice instead. There was nothing special about the rice served and it came off as microwave hot not freshly cooked hot. The potato salad was never served and when I inquired about it I was told that it spoiled because they left the fridge open. The couple sitting next to me had to send back both meals as they described them as “fridge cold”. This is completely unacceptable. They also add a 20% gratuity for parties of two or more. Our service was good so I didn’t mind, but considering everything else I understand why others have an issue with this policy. I was so over it that I didn’t even take pics. Presentation means nothing if the food is of poor quality. I want good food that looks good, not nicely presented food that is bad. We will not return. Restaurants really need to do better.

The food and customer service were great. We had oxtails, they were cooked soft and very flavorful. If I had one critique it would be less salt in the rice and peas. The Callaloo was nice as well. I will definitely visit again the next time I am in nyc.
