What a fantastic experience I had at this location. From meeting Gee Gee who took really good care of my crew! to eating exceptionally good food from smoked turkey to ribs, to brisket and pulled pork all of it tasted fabulous. I give this place a full five star rating

Great atmosphere and staff. Line went quick. Prices were good. Loved the menu options. The only issue was the brisket was extremely fatty. Half my brisket slabs were fat. Milkshakes were delicious. Turkey was phenomenal.

My partner and I came here for some afternoon food after visiting the National Blues Museum, since it was right next door conveniently. Items were hit or miss depending on which item one would order, which I would like to elaborate below. Before I do so, I will say that service was great, as everyone at the counter was attentive to our needs. That was a plus. One comment my partner made was that the smoked salmon sandwich contained some of the best smoked salmon that they had ever eaten, and after tasting some, I could definitely see why. The salmon had soft texture inside while maintaining a potent and not overpowering smoky flavor. I also enjoyed the brisket, which wasn't juicy enough but was seasoned very well. It was also soft enough to allow a smooth culinary experience. I would recommend it to anyone visiting this spot without a doubt. The fried okra seemed to have used cornmeal instead of flour, which gave the okra bits harder and crispier texture while retaining the slimy inside. Both my partner and I enjoyed it as a result. A few constructive opinions we had of the items are as follows: The s'mores pudding contained marshmallow bits that were definitely soaked for way too long, making them lose even the slightest bit of their own flavor and texture, so the whole thing just tasted like chocolate pudding and it didn't seem like the marshmallow made any difference. The mac and cheese relied on cheese for flavor but wasn't seasoned enough, so it tasted a bit plain outside the obvious cheese flavor. Finally, the baby back ribs were so undercooked that the ribs wouldn't separate themselves from another on the rack. The seasoned outer skin was really nice, and the meat that was closer to the bone tasted good, but the more I reached to the meat away from the bone, the harder the meat was to pull from the rack and the redder it became. Unfortunately I didn't even end up finishing the ribs as a result. So yeah, as mentioned above, my experience made me determine that one would need to choose the right item to have a great meal. I wouldn't also be surprised that the ribs I had just happened to be a bad rack. Regardless, I am still rating this establishment a 4 because the highlights were amazing, balancing out the areas of improvement.

ONE AND DONE! We were very excited to try the bbq after reading the reviews. We wanted to sample a bit of everything since we're rarely in Saint Louis. We had the pork belly hush puppies with jalapeño jelly, spare ribs, brisket, burnt ends, and turkey. For our sides, we had the green beans, mac & cheese, french fries, and ooey gooey butter cake for dessert. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I just wish the food would have been at least decent. Let's start with the hush puppies. They sounded interesting, but they were pretty boring. They didn't taste bad, just tasted pretty much like a hush puppy from long johns. The ribs had a robbery texture to them and were pretty tough, but the flavor was decent. The brisket was room temperature with very little fat and absolutely no bark. We asked for the fattiest possible The burnt ends were the worst we've ever had. We love burnt ends, but these were not edible. The burnt ends were incredibly overcooked and so dry that we couldn't eat them. The turkey was hot, moist, and tender. The only negative about the turkey is not much smoke flavor. The green beans were ok but had chunks of tomato in them. I'm not a fan of tomato, but these were decent. The French fries and Mac and cheese were the highlights of our meal. The fries were hot and crispy, the mac had the perfect amount of cheese and creaminess. The gooey cake was thin and burnt. The part I could eat tasted good, but I'm a fat kid who loves dessert.

It's a fun spot to stop for BBQ. My husband and I have been here a few times in our travels and I finally was able to take one of my kids here and he really enjoyed it. We had to find parking a couple blocks away but it was worth the walk. The sample of smoked turkey was really good but I have always enjoyed their pulled pork. They have an assortment of different BBQ sauces. There is a case of unique bottled sodas and their fountain soda is not the traditional Dr Pepper/ Pepsi/ or Coke products. They have amazing cornbread with honey butter too, if they haven't sold out. We usually get there in the fall when it's already dark but this time we came in the summer and the light coming through the building in the day made for a pleasant environment.

Damn! Yes, that sums it up for me - damn! I am not a barbecue oficiando. I like it just fine, but on most menus it will not be my go-to choice, because my tastes are typically more eclectic and ethnic, but this joint?! I would WALK from Cleveland to St. Louis for more of Sugarfire! Damn! The meats are all perfect. The sauces? Oh boy - Damn! But be sure to get there early if you want some. They typically sell out. I was not used to that concept, and missed out my first night in town thinking I could grab an 8pm dinner. Nope. Get there early for the - Damn!

This place is a MUST if you like good BBQ.. Their brisket was some of the best I've ever had.. and their ribs are pretty decent as well. The sides we're very good, just wish they gave more for the amount they charge. I think the ribs we're a bit dry, kinda tough, but still good (the best ribs are no question Pappys) I still highly recommend to try

For carnivores! Brisket , great sides ( green beans were outstanding blends of crunch and salty) For omnivores and VEGETARIANS 👉🏻 mind blowing fried green tomato sandwich - perfectly executed- right balance of fried tomatoes, mayo, cheese , coke slaw - like winning the taste lottery for every bite!!! Perfect place after a visit (or a show) at the National Blues Museum
