First and foremost the brisket was scrumptious. It was tender and smoked to perfection. The baked beans were the most unique I've ever had with peppers, black beans and celery in them. Delicious! Lastly the chicken potato chowder was unique as well. Food 9 out of 10. Now the challenging part. Most meats were sold out 2 hours before closing on a Monday, so get there early. The sides were limited as well.

Google
Sugarfire Smoke House absolutely blew me away! Their food is on a whole different level. The ribs were the true showstopper—perfectly and packed with smoky, rich flavor that hits just right. Every bite felt like BBQ heaven. And their fried okra? Hands down the best I’ve had in a long time—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. It paired perfectly with the ribs and honestly could be a meal all by itself. Add to that the friendly service, quick turnaround, and a fun, casual vibe, and you’ve got a place that earns every one of its 5 stars. If you love BBQ, Sugarfire Smoke House is a must-visit!

Google
Great place for meat lovers. Extremely tasty, juicy well prepared dishes! Great choice of meats and sauces. The most difficult part of experience - choosing what to order! Luckily there are 2 and 3 meat choices plates. Pickled jalapenos is a great touch!

Google
Great foodA short walk from the arch. The food was served cafeteria style, you just go down the line and they load up your tray. The brisket soup was amazing! I wish I had more room. I couldn't eat everything. It was so much food.

Google
What a great experience. Get it while it’s fresh or do don’t get it at all! Ie, No Ribs at 8:30 at Saturday night. I’ve been in the business and BBQ isn’t as good when it’s left-over. Good on SugarFire! I opted for the Brisket Dip! Simply put-PERFECT! The brisket was extremely flavorful with just the right amount of smoke flavor. Dipped in the Au juice, it was…well, Perfect-as I said. I had the scalloped potatoes for $1 more. They have a couple of craft beers and plenty of St. Louis sauces. Order and pay at the counter, limited table service, but great accommodations all the way around.

Don't be put off by the long lineup out the door and down the block. It moves VERY fast and you'll be at the counter in mere minutes. Lots of made to order sandwiches and brisket, and tons of fresh sides. Really really good! Popular for good reason

My partner and I came here for some afternoon food after visiting the National Blues Museum, since it was right next door conveniently. Items were hit or miss depending on which item one would order, which I would like to elaborate below. Before I do so, I will say that service was great, as everyone at the counter was attentive to our needs. That was a plus. One comment my partner made was that the smoked salmon sandwich contained some of the best smoked salmon that they had ever eaten, and after tasting some, I could definitely see why. The salmon had soft texture inside while maintaining a potent and not overpowering smoky flavor. I also enjoyed the brisket, which wasn't juicy enough but was seasoned very well. It was also soft enough to allow a smooth culinary experience. I would recommend it to anyone visiting this spot without a doubt. The fried okra seemed to have used cornmeal instead of flour, which gave the okra bits harder and crispier texture while retaining the slimy inside. Both my partner and I enjoyed it as a result. A few constructive opinions we had of the items are as follows: The s'mores pudding contained marshmallow bits that were definitely soaked for way too long, making them lose even the slightest bit of their own flavor and texture, so the whole thing just tasted like chocolate pudding and it didn't seem like the marshmallow made any difference. The mac and cheese relied on cheese for flavor but wasn't seasoned enough, so it tasted a bit plain outside the obvious cheese flavor. Finally, the baby back ribs were so undercooked that the ribs wouldn't separate themselves from another on the rack. The seasoned outer skin was really nice, and the meat that was closer to the bone tasted good, but the more I reached to the meat away from the bone, the harder the meat was to pull from the rack and the redder it became. Unfortunately I didn't even end up finishing the ribs as a result. So yeah, as mentioned above, my experience made me determine that one would need to choose the right item to have a great meal. I wouldn't also be surprised that the ribs I had just happened to be a bad rack. Regardless, I am still rating this establishment a 4 because the highlights were amazing, balancing out the areas of improvement.

Google
Visited for lunch with coworkers from South Korea while we were in town for the SC2025 exhibition at the America’s Center Convention Complex. We heard their BBQ was great—and it truly is. We enjoyed everything, and the brisket was on another level. The sauce was okay, but the meat itself really stood out. A solid spot for BBQ.

Yelp
Hoe. Lee. Queue. This barbeque franchise was phenomenal. Visiting St. Louis, the BBQ scene was a must try and sugar fire was a stones throw from the convention center. We stopped in for lunch and had to tamper down the order due to an expensive menu that sounded delicious. We ended up with ribs, brisket, pork, fries, and beans. We found an empty table and began our feast. We tasted each sauce before digging in. To my surprise, the meats did not need a sauce. Tender and flavorful. Some may say perfection. Although the restaurant is very casual, during off hours the line remained several people long for the entire hour I was dining. Sugarfire is doing it right. 10 of the 10. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Brian W.

Yelp
Did not expect such good barbecue to be right next to the convention center, they get busy as heck with convention center crowds, and they do run out of things alarmingly quickly. However service is good, the vibe is appropriately themed, and they apparently did a heck of a job selling the turkey to the customers in front of me. I wasn't quite as impressed, but it was still good. They were unfortunately out of the pork ribs, but the brisket was good, and the burnt ends... ... Not universally good, about half the bits were a bit dry, but the half that weren't, damn they were good. Would come back again for those. The sides were solid, too. And the soda collection is impressive.

Yelp
With a lack of acceptable places to eat in downtown St. Louis, my husband and I settled on Sugarfire Smokehouse. Not knowing what to expect, never having been introduced to the restaurant, we drove right past this location. This street was dark and the neon business sign was actually INSIDE the building above the kitchen making it extremely difficult to find. After driving around the block a second time, we realized what had happened. We then had trouble finding a legitimate parking spot (we aren't local to MO) that we felt safe leaving the car. We made it inside and I, personally, had an issue reading the menu, as it was dark where it was hanging and was also about 10 ft in the air. At the counter, we were immediately greeted and our order was taken. I ordered a regular hamburger (because I am not a BBQ fan) and a side of potato salad. It took forever to get my burger from the grill, but it was damn sure freshly made to my liking! My husband had a 2 meat combo plate and literally licked his fingers clean after finishing the sugarfire ribs! He said they were THE BEST! The atmosphere, unfortunately, left a lot to be desired. The high-top plastic tables standing in front of the front doors did nothing to invite patrons in. It actually deterred people's desires to enter the restaurant. The chairs & tables inside were 'well-loved' and dated. The floors were uneven (tripping hazard,) no real theme to the decor -- looked like a conglomeration of different things just thrown together. The kitchen/register/to-go area looked very disorganized & unkempt. I STILL don't understand the purple bull statue inside the restaurant nor the bronze one outside, either.

Yelp
The decor is awesome and the eating area is well stocked and spacious! The ordering process was easy and smooth. You can watch the whole process through the glass. Everyone was kind and helpful! Everyone in our party of 10 loved the food!

Yelp
Casual Smok-haus a block from the conference center. We stood on line and walked past the meat counter, the sides, the desserts and then the cash register your beer. We were given samples of the juicy sweet turkey as we passed by. Mike Johnson the chef and owner was trained with Emerald Legacy in New Orleans Orleans. He worked in commodores Palace with the $.25 martini lunch. Mike incorporated the $.25 with weekday beer specials between 2:00 and 5:00. We shared the 4 St Louis rib special. Our ribs were put on a metal tray with a piece of butcher paper. Assorted sauces and rolls of paper towel towels were on the table. I thought the ribs were a little fatty and the meat didn't fall off the bones. They were good! Before 5 o'clock we enjoyed the $.25 draft saucy hour. We needed to remind the cashier to adjust the price.

Yelp
Came here for lunch, tried the brisket sandwich and first time to try maple almond sweet potato, brisket is ok and putting on sauce which there's a lot to choose from the table makes it better.Staff are hardworking making everything clean and stocks filled.I haven't seen so much soda choices till i came here.

Yelp
This one is a short walk from any hotel in the Downtown St. Louis area, near the Convention Center. When I arrived, I realized the hours on the door said 11am 'til SOLD OUT. It was 7:00-was I cutting it close??? The line in front of me was short, but the tables were moderately filled and it looked like they had plenty of food. Then, when the party ahead of me went up to order, the guy behind the counter told one of them to pull the tray paper sign with "Burnt Ends Nachos" on it off the wall. They were definitely starting to run out! By the time I ordered my meal and found a community table to sit at, the line was twice as long as it had been when I got there. I must have had impeccable timing. They have signs telling you that you cannot find a place to sit until your entire party has ordered and paid for their food, and let me tell you my friends, they stand on business about that. I saw one customer try to shirk that requirement only to have the busser tell her she couldn't sit yet and pointed to the sign. I appreciate that, if they have a rule like that, they stick to it. I ordered a Combo Plate with brisket and pulled pork, and for my sides asked for French fries and the creamy grits, which were a premium side and had an extra $1 charge. There are table sauces on each table, so I tried each of them with both meats and found them to be remarkably similar or just okay. Overall, I kept alternating between the Coffee Barbecue, because it was the one with the most unique flavor, and the Texas Hot, because it was the only one that really had kick to me. The others were okay, but nothing to write home about. The meat was good, relatively fatty, and the sides were decent, though I liked the grits more than the fries. The meal also came with a small drink, of which they served a local soda brand. I've seen it in other places downtown as well. By the time I was ready to leave, they were poppin', and parties were sharing long tables with each other. It was loud, but boisterous. The busser did a great job of clearing plates quickly so everyone who wanted to sit, could. It was a pleasant and quick experience for someone visiting for a conference.

Yelp
This place did surprise me on how relatively fast they serve considering how many people pass through. But I guess that why so many people come here. The atmosphere has the feel of a smokehouse. No napkins but a roll of towel paper. Sauces tend to be on a sweeter side than smoky. I got the salmon sandwich. Which looked plain was full of flavor. Though it did need a sauce, which I put thr Stl sauce. Fries looked over fried, but not necessarily, and tasted so good with thr coarse sea salt

Yelp
While visiting St. Louis for the first time, we had to get our share of trying some St. Louis style BBQ. Sugarfire Smoke House was one of our stops during our trip and it did not disappoint. I would be bold enough to say they were my favorite BBQ spot of the whole trip. The service was efficient and the food, as noted, was delicious. We were a party of four and came in at the height of dinner time. Despite the busyness, they moved through the line quickly and our orders came out in a reasonable amount of time and accurately. My order consisted of the Meat Daddy for which I upgraded my sides to the zucchini fries and au gratin potatoes. The meats were superb. 'Falling-off-the-bone' tender and flavorful. The sauces to complement the meat worked perfectly. There wasn't a protein on the platter I didn't enjoy, but the ribs and brisket stole the show for me. The premium sides were also great. Worth the small upgrade charge. I especially liked the au gratin potatoes. They were cooked to perfection with just the right amount of cheese! They worked well with the proteins from the Meat Daddy. Loved it all and the portions were generous. I would highly recommend adding Sugarfire Smoke House to your food stops while in St. Louis. My only regret is not making it back one more time before we left to try more off of their menu.

Yelp
We were told this is the best BBQ in the downtown St Louis area which is probably true. However it is certainly not the best we have had. While technically it was good BBQ it lacked flavor whether pulled pork, hot links, sides or even deserts. Hot links and spicy BBQ sauces were anything but spicy. Coffee BBQ sauce had the most flavor. The service was as expected for cafeteria style service. The place was loud with people trying talk over loud music. Overall not bad but not great.

Yelp
This place was alright! You walk in to the right follow walk way to front. If you see a cold drink you want grab it at that moment then your tray. You'll see the cooks at it!! You'll order as you go. Meats then sides.. My $30+ rack of ribs came out a warmer oven wrapped in plastic. By the time we sat which wasn't long it was cold. Leave your tray up top if you're still ordering or want extra sides! I grabbed my tray but wanted an extra side and cooks just kept their backs towards me. Finally the cashier said "oh put your tray up if you want a side" Food was okay. Mac n cheese was really clumpy like paste! Service was a lil harsh. No hellos or smiles. Like a jail lunch line. From a movie scene! lol I'm surprised if this is the best bbq in town? Not too busy during a Sunday lunch time! Pretty cool statue of a bull and lots of space. It sits on a corner and is a pretty good location for tourists.

Yelp
Was in town for work and a very thoughtful smart great co worker LOL said we need to feed you some barbecue! How could I say no?! What a treat Sugarfire was, from the friendly peeps behind the counter, all the delicious meats, sides and absolutely stellar mix of sauces of the table, it was a fantastic lunch! I had the chef salad with brisket and turkey on it , both were incredibly tender, moist and just the right amount of smoke. Also snuck in some fried green maters just to balance that salad out, YUM! Also really like they have a super fun soda machine with suds from a local company. Wishing I could smuggles a whole suitcase back of this delightful food back to the west coast! Comfy spot to dine in or take out, will be back that is for sure!

Yelp
I loved the food at Sugarfire. I was not in. A BBQ mood so I opted for the Smoked Salmon, which was very yummy. I was very surprised about the mac and cheese. It isn't look like it was going to meet my standards but it really did. Cheesy and made well. Don't judge a book by its cover, I suppose. I also enjoyed the fried okra and potato salad. The sweet tea here was amazing and I would highly recommend. For my 1st meal in the Lou, I was very happy with my order here. I highly recommend Sugarfire.

Yelp
Came in here last night for dinner around 6:00, and was definitely glad we did! The employees were really friendly and create an upbeat environment making it such a great experience. We got the brisket, Mac and cheese, fries and pecan pie.. and all of it was amazing! The all of the sauces were good but the coffee bbq sauce was the absolute best. We ended up back there tonight after leaving a burger place looking for a shake since the burger place was out. While they were out of shakes too, the cashier was soooo friendly and sweet. We ended up with the key lime pie and the Sugarfire pie! Definitely check this place out if you are in the area and looking for great bbq or pie!

Yelp
Came to St Louis for a business trip and decided to try some BBQ!!!! Why because it's St Louis and since they are known for St Louis Ribs, why not try it out. Well I was disappointed as soon as I arrived at the restaurant. First when we started to order they were out of almost everything on the menu which was a let down. So I ordered the smoke brisket, smoke turkey, jalapeños cheddar sausage with cheesy potatoes and fries. My husband had the double smoke turkey with baked beans and Cole slaw. They turkey wasn't great some pieces were moist and some pieces were dry that was the same as the brisket also. The jalapeño sausage was not fresh seem like in the in the warmer all day just waiting for someone to order them. The sides were decent nothing to call home about. The service wasn't bad but they could've let patron know they were out of most of the store prior to waiting in line for 15-20 minutes. Glad this was and one and done visit to St Louis most of

Yelp
I love the food and atmosphere here equally. What I really found unusual was the breaded fried green tomatoes. Brought back memories of my youth. The portions were good and the food was delicious. I will go back again the next chance I get.

Yelp
My kind of music was playin! You walk-in to the right and order at the counter with a metal tray, then find ya a seat and eat! I had the brisket sandwich with beans...yum-E! Different flavors such as black beans and bell peppers mixed in the beans;m. I really enjoyed them. The pickles were crispy slices and they were good... Will be back..

Yelp
We were able to get food pretty quickly, and the servers were friendly. However, this felt more like a fast food joint. The turkey caesar salad didn't come with dressing and the corn bread was kind of dry. The burnt ends were good. I wouldn't come here again, but it wasn't terrible for a quick meal.
google avatar

Aylon P.

Yelp
A wonderful modern BBQ joint serving up big delicious portions of all the classics. The brisket was absolutely perfectly cooked, thick cut, melt in your mouth, and delicious. I usually like a bit more of a flavored rub, but their sauces more than made up for it. The ribs were incredibly flavorful and juicy, and cooked fantastically too. The Mac and cheese was ridiculously creamy, the fried buffalo cauliflower was crispy and soft and just the right amount of spicy. It's a pretty updated and modern feeling place, with plenty of seating and a spotless clean feel. The staff was super friendly and helpful, giving recommendations of their favorites and what sizes to go for. Overall, this is a must do BBQ in downtown STL.

Yelp
BBQ Review Quick trip to St Louis for a wedding. We had to get bbq - obligatory and so delicious. We checked out Sugarfire Smoke House in Downtown. You could smell the smoke from down the block. We were welcomed to a quick service line and attendants happy to help provide recommendations on bbq for newcomers. When I say it's the best bbq brisket I've had, I don't exaggerate. I ordered the ribs and the brisket. It's an understatement to say these meats don't need bbq sauce. However, my spouse and I soaked up and loved the four or five sauces at our table. Coffee, Texas, St Louis Sweet, and a delicious Honey Badger. We bought sauces to go so definitely try them out! The sides game doesn't disappoint either- from unique sides like hummus to classic seasoned tots. Booths and high tops are available. They take credit card and sell sauces and rubs when available. It's near the Blues Museum and the Gateway Arch.

Mike A.

Yelp
I'm not a big bbq person, but I really enjoyed the smoked turkey and the free pickles! My friends that love bbq, REALLY love this restaurant. Gotta stop by if you're here!

Yelp
Classic ST Louis BBQ venue within walking distance of the Marriott Grand Hotel in St Louis. VERY friendly & accomplished staff. The menu offered the full complement of BBQ options. Food quality was sufficient to have us back a second night of our 4+ day stay at the Marriott Grand Hotel St Louis.

Yelp
Met some friends there for dinner and this was the experience. It wasn't bad, just dissapointing. Several folks hyped it up as the best BBQ in the area, I just don't see it. To be fair, I'm a bit more critical of BBQ places than most places after living in texts for almost 8 years, but that doesn't mean I'm u reasonable, just honest. Here are some of the things that we ordered. Ribs, sausage, Brussel sprouts. Fries, Cornbread. I'm only going to discuss the food I had. Upon entering, it was not very busy at 6:00, but it wasn't empty eiither.you order at the counter and then take your food, pay and find a table. You get loaf bread with your meal for whatever you might want it for. Ok, I digress... My food was ribs, sausage, deviled egg potato salad, and baked beans. They were out of brisket so nobody got to have any of it. They were also out of Tater Tots so no Bueno there. The ribs tasted ok, but were pretty dry, like they had been sitting around for a bit. Not what I was hoping for. The sausage was a bit dry as well. Taste was ok, but needed more moisture. The Devild Egg potato salad was really good though. I would have been ok just having that. The beans were ok as well, but nothing spectacular. Others had similar experiences with their food. Several folks got the Brussels sprouts and said they were delicious, so another good job. Unfortunately, its a smoke house not a potato salad shop, so the BBQ was the main reason to be there, and it was just average. Not bad but nothing to bragging about. It's ok and will feed you, just don't expect to have your socks knocked off.

Yelp
Omg ! This place was AAAMAZING !! So we had asked a staff member at the St. Louis Arch if they lived around here and What is the BEST BBQ around. Yolanda said this place. Funny because Yelp peeps said another place BUT Yelp peeps said another place but we learned our lesson in Kanas City. Ask the Locals, Yelp is not always right. Soooo anyways, We came here after a day at the Arch and we were more than exhausted AND hungry. We got there around 3 and they were out of ribs and 3 other things. We got lucky and took the last brisket. We ordered 2 chicken & waffles, with both side of brisket fried rice. Omg DROOOOOL The waffle was so flavorful that to me I didn't even use butter for it. The rice, YUMM! It was nice and salty & seasoned extremely well. My chicken breast was a little bloody in it & I had told one of their helpers. She was sooo wonderful & I told her I'm not looking for free food I just want to know if it's okay to eat. She was so sweet & said No, I'll get you a new one. And she did. That was so sweet. My husband had a Brisket sandwich and we didn't even hear a peep from him. He finally talked and he devoured his food. I'll be honest, we spent 5 months eating the BEST BBQ in all of Texas so we were so happy to FINALLY have some real good BBQ.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was good, loved the variety of BBQ sauces all on the table. Was a good experience for being downtown near the convention center

Yelp
So I may or may not be slightly loving this place. I saw some recommendations on a recent trip so we stopped by. The first night I was bummed bc they sold out early and I had walked all the way over here. But the being sold out made me know this had to be the real deal. We ended up here twice and each time the food was amazing. My favorite meats are the brisket and the ribs. Tasty and they put their heart into making this bbq. There will be a line and it is worth the wait.

Yelp
Stopped in for some brisket nachos at Sugarfire on Wednesday afternoon. Overall they were delicious, I loved the brisket but the combo of cheese, sour cream, and bbq on these made them a little sauce heavy. Would stop in here again sometime though.
google avatar

Morgan K.

Yelp
Brisket was amazing! A good amount of it served on the sandwich - sliced and prepared right in front of you. All of their bbq sauces are great, hard to pick a favorite! Only a few sides to pick from but the potato salad was a solid choice. Definitely worth the stop.

Chaz L.

Yelp
Visited from out of town expecting St Louis BBQ. What i got was food poisoning. The guy slicing the brisket for the sandwiches tossed a piece of meat in his mouth between the current in front of me and me. I should have turned around and left immediately. I took my chances and lost. I'll preface the rest of the review with: I'm a Texas BBQ lover. The brisket was mediocre at best. The sauces were the same base with variances that weren't all that. The baked beans had potential, but not quite there. I read later it is a local chain. Buy local. Just another local BB joint.

Yelp
Outstanding food, service and an overall must do experience if you are in STL. Visited this restaurant on my last visit to St Louis, I ordered the 3 meats lunch dish. The pulled pork was my favorite but all the meats were savory, the brisket was tender and mouth watering. I loved that there were bbq sauces on each table and if you need more, you can ask the friendly staff. My dish came with 2 sides and beverage. I tried the fried zucchini and fries. The zucchini was delightful, crunchy and seasoned. I had to get a container to go because I couldn't finish it and it was to good to leave it behind... even bought a seasoning to take home!!! So if you are looking for lunch in the city just go there! SYOY

Yelp
So we stopped by Sugarfire since we heard the great reviews. Lamar provided great recommendations and was very knowledgeable.

Yelp
Great service very friendly employees and excellent recommendations. The smoked salmon was great and the sides were plenty! Had to try one of their homemade Mississippi pies and it's was very rich and fudgy. Love the community tables that allow for big groups or small gatherings!

Yelp
As I was walking by, the smell of barbeque wafted from the nearby restaurant, luring me in. There was also a larger-than-life construction style orange sign that said "BBQ TODAY" in case my nose wasn't working. Sure, appeal to multiple senses-you got me! I enjoyed the pulled pork and baked beans, both were flavorful and cooked perfectly. My wife had the brisket which was also yummy. Drinks are self-serve from a soda machine or adult beverages you get at the counter. Customer service is fantastic. People were pleasant, quick and friendly when asked for recommendations. The nice young girl at the cash register has a darling personality and makes everyone feel welcome. I'm not sure if this is a family run place, but it certainly has that feel. I'll be back!

Half rack is where it's at if you are hungry add some potatoe salad and fried okra for the meal. For a lighter option choose the combo rib with the burt ends The hot and st. Louis sweet bbq sauce was delicious. Try the coffee of you are a coffee lover thay one is hot or miss. Enjoy! Ohhhhh the cornbread!!! Buy one to split with the table nice and sweet just wish it was hot. Staff was down to earth and high energy.

Yelp
I had high hopes when I walked into Sugarfire; I travel to St. Louis frequently, and I heard good things about this barbecue joint. Sadly, the food did not meet the hype. Inside it looks like a modern bbq joint, a little on the hipster side. The servers were nice enough, the food was very mediocre. The meat that I received was actually a little cold, which left me wondering if I got yesterday's meat. The mac and cheese was the most disgusting I've ever had, I've had better from a Kraft box. The only saving grace was the pulled pork and the sausage, both were pretty good. I left massively disappointed; with all the other options in the city, I don't think I'll return.

Yelp
We stopped in at 4:30 with our party of six for a dinner before the Pink concert downtown. The line was long but service once you get to the front is quick. It took us 50 minutes to get through the line and sit with our food. Luckily, the time waiting in line keeps the restaurant itself in rotation, so it's easy to find seats. Of all the barbecue I've tried in St. Louis, this was some of the worst. The meat was chronically dry and extra fatty. The salmon was so dry we put it in the vinegar salad dressing to rehydrate it. It was a bear to get the rib meat off the bone. The fried and coleslaw were easily the highlight of the meal.

Yelp
Food was great! This is a real bbq spot where you line up lunch line style - I always feel like that's apart of the bbq experience. Definitely could be a quick meal, but you can also take your time. Brisket was 10/10 (moist, perfectly cooked, tender, flavorful). Ribs were 7/10 (flavorful, just a bit dry). If I had to give one piece of feedback it would be to expand the sides menu. Great place to grub right before catching a cardinals game.

Yelp
I've tried a few bbq places around, and a friend asked why I haven't tried Sugarfire. I had no excuse, so I came to try. The instant you walk in, you smell the bbq. You also see an amazing open area, with a ton of open, and fixture lighting coming through. I was thrown off by the cafeteria style service, but no biggie. I wanted to try a good sample of everything, so I got a 3-meat meal, with brisket, ribs, shredded pork. Shred pork with STL sweet sauce Brisket very tender! Ribs tough, cold For sides, I had Mac/cheese , angle fried okra . So overall it was a good experience.

Yelp
Got here towards the end of the day - around 7pm - a hour or so before they close and I got a lot of the scraps which probably aids in my experience here. For all the hype. It was just okay. I wasn't wowed. I wasn't impressed. I simply ate food. Very disappointing unfortunately :(. Even the employees said I had to come earlier to get the good stuff. But they did give me free samples and gave me an extra piece of meat since the ones I wanted was all sold out. They were also singing and joking with each other and us and so the customer service is five stars by far. I got brisket which was above average and I'm sure if I got there earlier would be elite. Baked beans. Mac n cheese which I wouldn't recommend. Burnt ends which was the best. And Fried Zucchini which was kinda dry. They also had a couple of pies as well. My colleagues got it and I took a bite and it was solid. Not the best but good if you have an itch for dessert. There are a ton of people here so you might have ti wait a bit for a seat to open up. Because this place is always bustling, don't linger and have long convos after you eat. It's on a major street so parking is scarce. Might be less stressful to just take a taxi there. Would I come again? Probably not. But it's a staple in the community and you have to go and visit.

Yelp
Stopped here while driving to Illinois, was recommended by a local and we had a blast! We traveled with 9 people and EVERYONE enjoyed their food! We got there at a good time the line wasn't bad, but shortly after the rush came. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals we had everything from the ribs, brisket, to the turkey! Again everything was amazing! We will definitely be back!!!

Yelp
First time to St Louis and stayed right near this location so we got lucky! Everything was amazing! Meat daddy 3 meat combo recommended by the amazing staff. Let me start there because the customer service, attention and conversation was key! They were engaging, asked what we liked and had samples. It was a highlight of the experience and is by far a part of the 5 star experience! Sliced brisket, burnt ends and ribs, side of cucumber salad and fries. Free sliced bread, pickles, onions and peppers to take. Huge variety of sauces. Side of pimento cheese, thanks to their amazing staff listening to me trying to decide what to order! Burnt ends were our favorite! But everything else was a close 2nd, 3rd etc. I love that the meat all comes dry with sauce on the side so we can sample them all. I love the white Alabama and the coffee bbq. TSA too them but was worth buying to support either way, they were that good!!!! No way I would go back to St. Louis and not stop by, it is a that good. For sure getting that PBLT next time. Loved the whole vibe of the restaurant and the staff on a warm Saturday afternoon. Thanks for a great meal and experience.

Yelp
Excellent bbq place in downtown, a few minutes walking distance from the convention center. The brisket and the other meats were tender, plus the flavored sauces they offer on the communal table was good. My favorite bbq sauce is the one with the coffee note since I'm a coffee lover. Go check them out if you're in the area.

Yelp
When you first walk into the establishment knowing whether to wait for a hostess is confusing. There is a sign that says you can't have someone save a seer for you, but if it's your first time at Sugarfire that sign adds to the confusion. I was confused: do I seat myself, do I wait for a hostess, what do I do? As I sat eating my meal I noticed others coming in were just as confused. I order a Half rack with two sides. I didn't think the portion sizes were sufficient. There were a few sauces on the table. The sweet sauce was really good. The Carolina mustard sauce had way too much mustard in it. The ribs were dry towards the center and a little more moist towards the end where the meat was thick on the bones. The meat was not fall off the bone. The meat stuck to the bones and The amount of meat on the slab was lacking. I ate at another rib establishment the day prior and the amount of meat on the half slab I got there was plenty. In the middle of the weekday when I went to Sugarfire there was plenty of seating. Going through the order line was quick. The staff were helpful and attentions.

Yelp
I can buy, to this place, just to give them a try. The place looks attractive from the outside, but it's hard to decipher what it is that they are trying to portray as their genre. They are a barbecue joint! I ordered a side of brisket, just to try, and I also ordered a side of coleslaw. I ended up spending 20 bucks for very mediocre food. To be honest, things didn't go well from the beginning, I stood for a good two minutes and not one person greeted me. When it was time to order, they just asked me what I wanted, and again no hello or nothing. I felt like they didn't bother me as a customer, nobody took the time to made me feel welcomed or to try something different. I don't think I would come back here again.

Yelp
I was so excited to try Sugarfire after living here for years. It was okay. The brisket was a bit tougher than I've had at other places. The bbq sauces were not my favorite. I felt like they were lacking. The spicy was not very spicy, and the sweet was too sweet. Service was great! They were all super helpful. Tons of seating but be prepared for it to be packed! I feel like there are better bbq options in St Louis

Yelp
If you don't want to be disappointed when they run out of certain meats, then come earlier than later in the day. I was bummed that they ran out of ribs when I stopped in, but the pulled pork is the real star here and should be what you order. Pick your favorites sides, pour a cup of sweet tea, and you're set with some authentic St. Louis BBQ. I like the"BBQ TODAY" street sign they had outside! BBQ is life (in moderation so no early death)!

Yelp
Solid BBQ for a Texas BBQ snob like me. Would definitely go back and enjoy it again.

Yelp
Ordered delivery to my hotel and it was everything I wanted from a St Louis BBQ spot! I'm a sucker for a good brisket and I've been thinking about this one since I left. Perfectly smoky, extremely tender, and each of the sauces made for a new experience. Don't skip the ribs either. Wish I had more to bring home with me. Definitely coming back if I'm in the area again!
