A Beloved St. Louis Barbecue Spot Has Arrived in Denver | Eater Denver

"I report that St. Louis–based Sugarfire Smoke House has opened its first Colorado outpost, Sugarfire “Westy,” at 14375 Orchard Parkway in Westminster; started by chef and pit master Mike Johnson and already a 10-location brand across Missouri, Indiana, and Illinois, the restaurant is known for its brisket, pulled pork, and ribs and features a full bar serving Colorado beers, cocktails, and boozy milkshakes. The Westminster store starts serving at 11 a.m. daily, and there’s no word yet on additional Denver-area outposts." - Josie Sexton

These Four Barbecue Options Are Coming in Hot to Denver | Eater Denver

"A St. Louis-born barbecue franchise opening in June in Westminster’s Orchard Park Place; founded by chef Mike Johnson, the concept pairs traditional smoked staples like baby back ribs, pulled pork, and beef brisket with playful, nontraditional items such as smoked brisket cheesesteaks, pork belly hush puppies, and Bourbon milkshakes." - Josie Sexton

Overall Rating and is it worth a visit: 7.75 to 8/10. Maybe. Rolling in, I had my hesitations about the place, based on its location in a suburban planned strip mall development, but also with it being a chain from out of state, as this is 1 of 12. That said, when I walked in the door I was pleasantly surprised, as I was instantly hit with a nice waft of oak floating through the air. In traditional bbq or fast casual fashion, you order cafeteria line style, choosing between individual meats, combo platters, sandwiches, burgers, and even salads. Opted for the Meat Daddy platter as it was a taste of pretty much everything and was a pretty affordable price for how much food you get. Started with the brisket, which shocked me at how good it was, but after that, all of the meats mostly let me down, with a small upswing at the end with the cheesy garlic mashed potatoes. Service was on point, and the place had a laidback chill environment/vibe to it, with 90’s-2000’s rock and alternative playing at a low volume, while the staff cracks jokes with each other. Not the best place to get bbq in Colorado, but certainly not the worst either. Without a ton of close other options in Westminster/Thornton, it’s a okay spot to stop at, but isn’t worth a special trip on its own either. Would come back if people invited me, but also not making a stop unless it’s directly on my way. Full review at The House of Salt & Smoke

The staff are rude and act very inconvenienced by us ordering food. The burger is okay and the ribs taste like they were made in a crock pot. +$2 for a gf that falls apart instantly. All in all, over priced, service sucks, go to lulus in Louisville, miles above this crap factory.

Put Sugarfire Smokehouse on Your BBQ Bucket List! If you’re into bold flavors and creative barbecue, Sugarfire Smokehouse is the spot. I tried the pulled pork, brisket, and smoked salmon — all incredible, but the smoked salmon with their Carolina mustard sauce was next level. They’ve got a full-service bar, garage-style open bay seating, and a patio that’s perfect for warm days. Bonus: it’s pet-friendly, LGBTQ+ friendly, and has a great laid-back vibe. Definitely one of those places that deserves to be on the map for BBQ lovers.

My daughter, her boyfriend, and I had the pleasure of dining here recently for the first time, and from start to finish, everything was exceptional. There wasn't a single dish we ordered that we didn’t love. The meats were incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the sides were absolutely delicious, each one complemented the meal perfectly. The cucumber salad was my favorite and both my daughter and her boyfriend ordered the Mac and cheese and it was the topic of conversation at our table. They loved it!!!! The service was warm and attentive. The atmosphere was just as enjoyable welcoming, relaxed, and well-suited for a great evening out. We left completely satisfied and already talking about coming back. Highly recommend!

Who says you can't find good BBQ in Colorado!? Was craving some smoke, stumbled upon this gem. 16hr smoked brisket, 14hr ribs. Broke da mouf! 8 different sauces to choose from. I like the Texas Hot! Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and gave great recommendations.

So delicious! My favorite BBQ place in Colorado. Always try something from the rotating specialty sides. (Photo: burnt ends sandwich with hash brown casserole)

The brisket with the Alabama white BBQ sauce is off the chain and you have to try the fried green beans dipped in the fry sauce. Baby back ribs are fall off the bone delicious. Eat here, be happy!

Decided to grab some lunch and was very surprised how great their turkey, pork & sides tasted. Top quality meat. Delicious Turkey!! In addition to the food…the restaurant has an indoor / outdoor garage door that raised some excitement to the bar. Dope Spot!! Full bar!!!
