"Confectioner Elle Lei gives sweet-toothed Chicagoans plenty of reasons to visit her cheery shop in West Town, from gorgeous bonbons to daring raspberry dark chocolate bars. It’s possible to place orders online, but those who make an in-person appearance will be rewarded with decadent vegan soft serve. Flavors, which are subject to change, have included black sesame, pandan mochi, and spiced pumpkin." - Naomi Waxman

Google
Best chocolate I’ve ever had in my life omg. Hand painted. Get a 6 pack and cut in half with a pairing knife to share with friends. Pro tip: ask about their $1 “no cute” bon bons

We love Sugoi! My husband has surprised me with bonbons before but this spring, we’ve made it a habit to get a soft serve cone every other weekend or so! The flavors are delicious and the people working are always so nice. We feel lucky to have them in the neighborhood!!

Google
Nice cute shop. Lovely curated selection of chocolates and teas. The bonbons were amazing. I don't know how they nailed the flavors like they do. Will be back 100% and recommend it to anyone.

This place is truly amazing. Each little chocolate is not only a work of art with the sheen and decoration, but a flavor sensation too. They call them bonbons and are similar to truffles but some are even gooey and have lots of layers inside. They also have interesting canned drinks from Japan and some other special chocolate bar flavors like duck sh*t (tea flavored) and salt egg cereal which I will definitely be back to try!! It’s not super cheap (3.50 a pop) so choose your options wisely although chic bars and the caramels (1.75 a stick) are really great too. The caramel was melt in your mouth. For Bonbons I recommend the Chicago Corn, the PBnJ and the Rice Puff (I forgot the real name but it’s a Japanese puffed rice grain with a nice crunch). Really worth a trip. A special place.

Google
Sugoi Sweets never disappoints. They have been shipping to me for close to 4 years. Their lovely truffles were my special pick me up during the pandemic and I sent to family and friends sharing the joy. My husband got a box for his Birthday…so yummy.

absolutely adore this place. i’ve never been disappointed by anything i’ve tried here! their soft serve ice cream is so creamy and true to flavor, the bonbons are gorgeous and so rich, and the mochi is to die for. the lychee raspberry mochi has a special place in my heart <3 so worth visiting as much as possible!

Chef Elle is as delightful in person as her treats are to eat. Unique flavors of Bonbons that are visually stunning! Wonderful to enjoy yourself or send as special gifts.

Real matcha vegan soft serve, not overly sweet!

Yelp
Sugoi Sweets had a booth at the Renegade Craft Fair in Wicker Park, and I couldn't help but take home a colorful box of their beautiful chocolates. While their box of six was "Chef's Choice", the gentleman there kindly showed me a few choices, and I picked one that avoided a flavor I tend not to like. Over the course of the next several days, I made my way through the box and was absolutely blown away. Each piece had an amazingly thin, perfectly tempered crisp chocolate shell, with a smooth filling bursting with intense flavors. I thought their quality and flavor made them absolutely worth the premium price. I look forward to paying a visit to their storefront, both to get gifts and a little treat for myself.

Yelp
Extraterrestrial level visual appeal! This place has candy craft to a level we have never seen. Looking for a small treat to bring to Los Angeles, this place popped up on maps and immediately had our attention with the handcrafted bonbons looking like AI generated celebrity birthday treats. I cannot say the prices make it worth it, fifteen smacks for four little dewdrops in a colorful box. Chocolate bars from Asia, ice cream packaged in house, matcha and tea making items decorating the neat little shop, all combines to show off award ready big budget treats. There are few places I have been that properly wow with simple colors and presentation. We met with a patient lady behind the counter who wrapped up three lovely boxes sticking them in a beautiful bag. Chicago you done it again!

Yelp
A hidden gem with the most unassuming store front - they offer bonbons with unique flavors, matcha and ube soft serve, and other sweet treats! I usually only come when I need to restock on matcha, but always make sure to grab some soft serve to go - they don't skimp on portions or flavor. The bonbons, albeit expensive, are beautifully crafted and great for a special treat.

Yelp
This small colorful shop is phenomenal. These bonbons make the best gift and are so fun to cut/bite into and try all the flavors. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and can help you pick out anything you need chocolate-wise. They even had a nice selection for gf/df chocolate lovers. I had picked up the new collection of bonbons and they were a huge hit! I also grabbed a small raspberry vegan soft serve as a little sweet treat on my way out and I'm still dreaming about it!!

Yelp
Small space but very cute inside. Tried their matcha soft serve and yuzu bonbon. Both delicious. Determined to come back to try one of their chocolate bar and get some matcha.

Yelp
I've been there 3 times and the service was consistent. They were welcoming and friendly. Their soft serve was one of the best I've ever had and I didn't even know it was vegan.

Yelp
I was hosting a dinner party last night so wanted to pick up some small bonbons just to finish off the night when everybody was done and ready to go. I'm impressed by how many interesting flavors they have that you can choose from . The amount of attention and detail put into the design and flavor was amazing. Every single person that had one loved it, and even those people that tend to eat at nicer restaurants were complementing the presentation of the box, the candy, essentially the entire product. Whether you're just looking to treat yourself to a small indulgence on the way home from work, or looking to impress your Guests with a small bite at the end of the night to leave them with a sweet memory, I would highly recommend trying this place out. I will admit, it is a bit on the pricey side, but I haven't found anything else like these, alongside the wide range of flavors they have, and I think they're worth it. I'll be back soon.

Yelp
Really cute sweets shop in the city! I stopped in with a pal & had a great time. They happened to be serving adorable tiny hot chocolates with either a homemade strawberry or Ube marshmallow. The bonbons they serve are absolutely gorgeous. They sell singular bonbons, or you can create packages with a variety. They also sell other packaged sweets like chocolate bars & caramels. This would be a great local shop to stop by for birthday/anniversary/etc gifts!

Jessica J.

Yelp
I mean, must I say more. These gourmet chocolates are very delicious and spot on with creative flavors. Husband and I was walking along Ashland and going into all the little boutique stores when we stumbled upon this colorful awning of a place. I've heard of them somewhere on social media somewhere so was very surprised to see a brick and mortar store. We tried the you pick 6 which was 22 dollars.. I know.. I had to take away one star for the price. But when we went home, we saw how BEautiful they were and also how crazy good it was. If you can afford them, I highly recommend them. If you can't, I recommend giving them as gifts, as I am certain whomever you gift this too will be very appreciative. Service was great!

Yelp
Bought four chocolate bonbons, loved them all. Very cute store, lots of options, it's amazing. Staff are all very nice, love the people there.

Yelp
Sugoi is an incredibly special place on so many levels. The bonbons are works of art, for starters - beautiful, iridescent-toned, perfectly shaped. Then there are these subtle, delicate flavors, with delightful Asian accents: pandan, yuzu, matcha, sudachi. The owner, Elle, is so talented and precise with what she does. Highly recommend any of the bonbons, the fruit caramels, and the raspberry almond dragees.

Yelp
Finally got to check out and it did not disappoint! Absolutely beautiful and delicious bon bons- would make a delightful gift. Will definitely be returning!!
