We visited for lunch here and it was completely empty. They were getting a lot of take out orders but there wasn’t anyone in the restaurant. Not surprising as it was a weekday. We ordered a spring roll for each of us. The one was big, but was not worth $2.50 for one. It was still dripping oil, but the taste was good. We ordered Panang curry with Tofu and Chilli Paste fried rice with vegetables. The Panang curry was the best among the both. It was lightly sweet and spicy enough to not need any chili oil on the side. The chili paste fried rice - I’m unsure how much rice there actually is. I wonder if those who order it with chicken, get as much chicken as I got vegetables. When you get a spoon in if the rice, the tastes that hit you first are sweetness and then the spice hits you. We ordered 3 spicy (out of 4), but the start off with sweetness was not I was expecting with chili paste fried rice. The portions are too small for the price. We paid $10 for each of the meal, and the portion was really small. Taste wise food was okay-ish. I guess it depends on what is being ordered.

Absolutely loved the green curry so flavorful and fresh! This is a family-owned spot, and the owner is incredibly kind and welcoming. The customer service is amazing, and you can really feel the care they put into everything. A hidden gem I’d happily return to

Red Thai curry was one of the best in recent Thai tries we did. Drunken noodles was disappointing in portion size and taste - both veg and chicken. Felt like they cooked in a hurry . Missed mango sticky rice as it was not available.

Google
We’ve only been here once but it was a great experience and we’ll definitely be back. The customer service was wonderful, the woman who helped us was very nice and attentive. The environment was relaxed. We’ve tried a lot of Thai food in Cincinnati and only have a couple places that we really like. This is now one of them! We ordered edamame, massaman curry and a noodle dish. All were delicious! I believe we ordered level 5 out of 10 and it was perfectly on par with what we expected. Nothing was bland or watered down tasting. Prices were average. The food was really good but the service and atmosphere are what made it. Definitely recommend!

Google
Food was extremely bland.. The pepper garlic chicken was absolutly terrible. I love supportong local but there has to be some concern toward your customers when you see 3 of the 4 plates weren't close to being finished. Sorry but will not return.

Google
I never had Thai cuisine at any other place. So can't really compare the food with other thai restaurants. I had Sukothai noodles(veggie) and thai fried rice(veggie). I liked the rice, it was really good. Fresh veggies and great flavors. I didn't like noodles much as they were soggy. I had fried cheesecake with green tea ice cream. This one was mouthwatering. One should definitely try this one😋. Spice level 6-7 were manageable. Not too spicy.

Google
Terrific Service! The food was on point, and our server was super sincere! Everytime we're there, we receive family style hospitality of the East. Especially during these Covid-19 times, when we're away from family and can't visit them. Pat is wonderful with her service, she basically treats us like family! Definitely do try this place! God Bless!

I came in for dinner before I went to Belle & the Bear for Singo (game like Bingo but with songs) on Tuesday. I had the Tom Kha Shrimp Soup and Chicken Lettuce Wraps. A light dinner that was absolutely amazing and properly spicy. I got a 4 out of their scale of 1-4. I could have gone spicier but I truly believe it was perfect and complimented the fresh ingredients very well as it was. 🌶🌶 I have a high spice tolerance so if you're a little wimpy on spice, I would suggest the level my boyfriend gets (I call him Baby Spice lol). He gets a 1-2 out of 4. 🌶🌶 I love coming in and trying new dishes. I have had most of their appetizers and they are all great. Their Black Pepper Dish on the House Specialty Menu I still think about, it's that good. If you want to have a fun night out I highly recommend coming to dinner here and catching a game of Trivia or a live band at Belle & the Bear. In this same complex they even have a Comedy Club, called Go Bananas 🍌 Cheers 🍻

Yelp
My Mr. wanted to come here for his Birthday. He raves so much about this place. Authentic Thai food. They open for lunch, close for a couple of hours and opens back up at 4:00 pm. They do not serve sushi and their drink menu is very limited. Food menu is also simple but have a lot to offer. Appetizers, salads, soups, mean entree and sides. You can pick your spice level from 1-5. 5 being the hottest. I made reservations on a Thursday night and invited some of our friends to join us. The restaurant has been there for a very long time and you can tell their clientele is well established. The inside is small but plenty room for dining. We ordered: -Tom yum soup -larb gai -Pad see ew add Tofu -2 Singha Beers We got our food right away and I was blown away with my pad see ew. It had so much flavor and the tofu went so well with it. My Mr and our friends enjoyed their meals as well. What a great experience and I can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu. This place is hands down one of my fave Thai restaurants in Cincinnati.

Yelp
Sukhothai has long been one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the greater Cincinnati area. To me, it's definitely one of the most authentic Thai restaurants, and that's coming from someone who spent time in Thailand and loved it there. The service is always great, the food always delicious, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. This most recent visit, my lady and I went with some friends for my birthday. I was excited to introduce my friends to the place. Our server, Patchurin, was awesome. For our food, I started with a bowl of tom yum soup, and had the larb gai (spicy Thai chicken salad) as my main. My lady had the pad sea ewe with tofu. I made a few suggestions to my friends since I know the menu pretty well. Everything was just as good as I remembered though I hadn't been in a while. I don't think my lady and I are gonna wait so long to go again.

Yelp
This little family owned place is THE BEST Thai restaurant in the entire area!!! It may seem small, but they rebuilt the back patio for more seating! The pad Thai and the curry are amazing! The Southern Thai chicken soup stands out as well!

Bianca S.

Yelp
Great Thai cuisine. I highly recommend. Crab Rangoon was some of the best I've ever had. The red curry dish was excellent. Very tasty and flavorful.

Yelp
Good food and friendly service! We haven't been here for several years. We were told it has been under new ownership for 3 years and is a family run business. We ordered the Shumai appetizer. My husband ordered the Red Curry Beef on a level 4 spice level (the hottest). I ordered the Dry Basil Thai Style with Fried Egg. I ordered mine with the chicken as the protein and on a level 2 spice level. We both thought the food was great! My husband said it was one of the best red curries he's had. I tasted it and he's right, it was delicious! Plenty of veggies, creamy curry sauce and tender beef. My dish was awesome too! Lots of basil, steamed veggies and great flavor. Both dishes came with jasmine rice. The shumai was also really good and the spicy chili oil that accompanied it added a nice kick of heat. We'll stop back in soon!
google avatar

Yelp
Exceptional. Very friendly family-run place, and I cannot say enough about the food here. Ordered the red curry and the drunken noodles, and they were just wonderful. Light, and not too heavy (which I'm so happy about)- and the proportions are perfect. The ambiance is also very nice - very cozy, family/children friendly, can see yourself coming here after a long day or in the upcoming winter for some pleasant company. Just lovely.

Yelp
My go-to spot for pad thai or pad see ew. It satisfies the cravings. (Though we opted for something different this day) :-))

Yelp
I got takeout from here yesterday and it was pretty good! I ordered the spring rolls, crab rangoons, pan fried pork gyoza, and fried tofu cashew stir fry for myself and one other person to share. Spring rolls were probably the best I've ever had- hot, fresh, and delicious! Rangoons were okay, same for the gyoza, but their accompanying dipping sauces were good. The cashew stir fry was pretty good, and it came with white rice. It was definitely more than enough for the two of us. There seems to be a lot of options for Asian cuisine in the Northern Cincy/Blue Ash/Montgomery Area, so I'm not sure how this place compares to nearby competitors but I would certainly return if I find myself back here again!

M K.

Yelp
Got a delivery order. Tom Kha soup was mediocre. If I had been eating there I would have sent the green curry back. Watery and tasteless. little or no coconut milk. The primary flavor was heat. Thai food has bright, clear, full flavors. This did not.

Melissa S.

Yelp
The best Chicken Pad Thai around!! I have tried many, but Sukhothai is the best!! That's probably why I have kept my job for 16 years, so I can get this for lunch!!

Paul E.

Yelp
Food is very good. Heartily recommend the fresh roll. Lately one issue has been the kitchen. It seems to get overwhelmed. Not sure what the problem is. But that is the reason I lowered the review from a solid 4 stars to three.

Yelp
Drove 10 miles to find this place and although they didnt appear be busy, was told it was a 1 hr wait and they didnt have a bar. Perhaps the food is fabulous...but I was kind of creeped out and ended up at PF Chang's
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place. I would eat there everyday if I didn't live so far away. Found it when I first moved into the area, and lived pretty close. I needed to find Thai food for my wife, who is Thai. While they definitely substitute a lot of the vegetables for more American ones (Asian vegetables are hard to find here, and not cheap when you do) the flavoring and spices are right on. Current favorite dish: Singapore Noodles with beef.

Dave H.

Yelp
I'm genuinely shocked by the few negative reviews, as they don't match my many experiences here at all. Sukhothai, in fact, is my very favorite restaurant in the entire Cincinnati area. I eat there at least once a week when I'm not traveling, and every meal is superb! In fact, every single meal tastes like they just picked and chopped the vegetables 3 minutes before preparing it for me. The chicken pad see ew is absolutely perfect every time. I've eaten at many (75+) thai restaurants in many cities, and this is my favorite. The physical location is slightly off the beaten path (across from Kroger, near the comedy club), and it's not the fanciest setting, but we still enjoy going there every few weeks to eat in person. Otherwise, I usually get takeout, which seems to be the route most patrons take here. It can be very busy and somewhat slow because they do so much takeout business, but that should be seen as a good sign. It's always worth the wait. In addition to the pad see ew, I also highly recommend the pineapple (and chicken) fried rice, thai spicy fish, drunken noodles, basil fried rice, pad thai, and the delicious crab rangoon appetizer. Wonderful!

Yelp
I liked it! So this place is not so far from my workplace and I came in here for a quick dinner last week. This is in the same area that has Pacific kitchen and Go Bananas comedy club. Parking seems to be sufficient now. Upon entering, we were quickly tended to, and taken to our seats. The restaurant is good sized, and there were plenty seats available for a Friday evening. So, I've heard a lot of praise for their Singapore noodles, but couldn't see that in the menu. The server mentioned that they do have it, and can get me one! I ordered mine with chicken. My friend got the green curry with rice. After maybe twenty minutes, our food arrived looking delicious. The Singapore noodles were really good. I had no complaints. My friend enjoyed the green curry too. Service was very nice, and the lady was really attentive. Downside? The price was a dollar or two more than I'm used to, and I couldn't justify that extra price.

Yelp
Definitely one of those places where I'd give a 4.5/5 if I could. The main dishes I ordered, Kao Soy and Pad Thai, these were great when delivered and even reheated a day or two later as leftovers. That's solid. It was also nice to see Kao Soy on the menu as a curry option since it's not a guarantee on Thai menus. I asked for it to be "Spicy" on their heat scale (second only to "Very Spicy") and it was spot on. Significant heat that made each bite interesting (the kind of heat that lingers several minutes after the fact), but it didn't melt my face off. If you're like me and you don't like a Thai curry that's drowning in coconut sweetness and, instead, enjoys the the heat fighting the sweetness and vice versa, then you'll probably enjoy their "Spicy" curries. For those of you who like your faces melted off - like I sometimes do, to be perfectly fair - I suspect the "Very Spicy" variant might get the job done... and I certainly intend to find out in the near future. The Pad Thai was very good. I went the classic route with shrimp and the not-so-classic route with the "Crispy" option and... I'm a tad on the fence. Don't get me wrong, this shrimp pad thai as a whole was pretty great - even reheated two days after the fact - but I think maybe I met a crispy pad thai that was a bit chewy and juuuust not quite my thing. (Though I do have to wonder how much consistency was screwed up during a 20 minute delivery in the dead of winter.) The one star I took off was because the Fresh Rolls and Mango Salad were pretty underwhelming. (But here is where I wish I could give a 4.5/5 instead of 4/5 because these are just side items.) All the ingredients were fresh and they sounded nice on paper, but there just wasn't much to like. The Fresh Rolls were all lettuce and rice noodles with a few shrimp buried inside. There was definitely no pork and little if any cucumber, carrots, basil or cilantro as described. The peanut dipping sauce was good, but the darker sauce didn't seem to fit with something light and fresh like this - it seemed like something meant for grilled meat. The Mango Salad was fine, but it just seemed like shredded vegetables. I didn't detect any sweetness, mango or otherwise. It seemed like the appetizer/salad person dropped the ball.

Kelly L.

Yelp
I have been mourning real Thai like you'd find on the West coast but everything about this worked. I did delivery via Grubhub. Crispy spring rolls, Thai eggplant and tofu/chicken pad Thai which stood out the most for not drowning in overly sweet sauce. It was all delicious and requests were met. Zero complaints and will be my go to from now on.

Yelp
Needed a place to grab a bite while I was killing time as my wife had a meeting. I was heading for an Indian place, but right next-door was the Sukhothai Thai place. I prefer Thai food, because they actually have vegetables instead of just meat & goopy sauce like most Indian places in Cincinnati. I ordered Thai basil with pork and it was perfect. The vegetables were crunchy. The spice level was dead on (three out of four), & it was very flavorful. The service was great. The food came out very quickly. The interior was nice, nothing fancy, but comfortable and pleasant. I would definitely come back here again.
google avatar

Jackie Z.

Yelp
Best Pad Thai I've had in the city-the beef is super tender and the hot sauce is on point. Our go-to covid take out!
google avatar

Caroline I.

Yelp
It's my go to for door dash Thai. Solid good Thai food. I have ordered their wide noodles, holy basil sauce entrees with either shrimp or chicken. I wish they were a bit more generous on the shrimp though. There are times I have gotten as little as 3 pieces. Their egg rolls are delicious.

Alexa Z.

Yelp
I don't recommend ordering delivery- I can't speak for eating in person. I've had takeout from Sukhothai twice now (a year apart), and both times my curry (different curries) has been almost completely white and watery - with almost no flavor. In the photos here on yelp, the curries look pretty good and nothing like what I've gotten. I'm not sure if they just don't like working with delivery services, but after two bad experiences, I'm not inclined to ever visit the restaurant.

Yelp
New OWNERS, New MENU & Newly REMODELED. Great looking restaurant and Great food. Decided to come to dinner on a Sunday night. There never open on Sundays, now they are for dinner. My wife Toey and I decided to have date night there. Met the owner Poi and his wife...great people. We started with a Thai salad. There special dish, it was very flavorful and fresh. Onto main entree Pad Thai, WoW yummmmy and delicious. The place is FAMILY owned, so the Owners sister also waited on us. Great 5 star service. Will definitely be back. Thank you
google avatar

D'Vine Q.

Yelp
My husband and I ordered pad Thai and spring rolls from this establishment. The pad Thai was really good. The spring rolls were greasy and seemed like they were frozen. Overall, not a bad meal, however, the reason I'm giving them a low score is based off of what happened next. My husband and I both became extremely sick after this meal. We have been diagnosed with food poisoning and unfortunately this was the only meal we had this day. We ordered food on Tuesday and today on Friday we're still recovering. I'm not sure if it was the frozen spring rolls or bad vegetables in our pad Thai but we haven't felt good since this experience. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately I will never eat here again.
google avatar

Elizabeth Y.

Yelp
I was really excited to introduce my parents to delicious Thai food, but this was not the place to go. Poor service (table next to us waited 1 hr for their food), poor quality. Ordered Pad See Ew with shrimp and Green Curry with beef. Shrimp tasted...not so fresh. Green curry was watery. Underwhelming to say the least. Normally I don't like to post bad reviews, but I really would not recommend to any friends or family!

Michael F.

Yelp
I enjoyed my Basil Stir Fry. The ingredients were fresh and it was flavorful. The gyoza were also quite good. Our order was ready when they said it would be.
google avatar

Michele G.

Yelp
Food was authentic and tastes great! Dry basil was delicious and spiced perfectly , fresh rolls and Tom yum soup were great too! Definitely recommend for great Thai food

Elaine C.

Yelp
very bland Thai food. only flavor was red pepper flakes. pad Thai was terrible. Got carry out and act threw most of away. My wife got drunken noodles and it had no taste at all.

Chels B.

Yelp
The food and staff are always super nice. I've only ever ordered take out myself or delivery from one of the food delivery services so I can't speak to the service in the restaurant, but takeout has always tasted delicious!

Frank K.

Yelp
I did not eat here. I tried. I could not reach them by phone so I went to go down there and place an order. I was told when I came in that if I wanted to order it would be at least 45 minutes. I decided to leave. The guy next to me said he'd been their way longer than 45 min and "you made the right decision to leave"
google avatar

Mike E.

Yelp
Have eaten here twice in last month, both times with a Living Social certificate. I have had spring rolls, fresh rolls with tofu, fish cakes, Tom Kha chicken soup and a chicken stir-fry dish each time with a heat level 3 out of 4. Didn't have dessert either time as I was already stuffed. Heat level was perfect. Service was good both times--friendly and attentive. Will probably be returning.
google avatar

Aleana K.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Food was fresh and hot! Everything came out very quickly. Thai iced coffee was also wonderful! Staff was very friendly! Definitely will be back!
google avatar

Devena S.

Yelp
On our way back from Columbus my son and I had a hankering for Thai and saw this place was not too far out of our path home. SO GLAD WE STOPPED! There is a fairly extensive menu book with all the basic Thai options but also differentiating between Northern Thai dishes which may be a specialty of this family owned and run restaurant. With heat levels from 0-4 (4 is not "Thai hot" but is pretty spicy for most midwestern palates) The Tom Yum soup sits somewhere between 2 and 3. I ordered my chicken massaman curry at a 3 and my son had his seafood mango curry at 3 as well. All came out with pretty presentation and the food was just as good as it looks! The crab rangoons we had as apps were a little heavy but still came out hot and fresh. I will definitely come again and bring friends!!
google avatar

Pooja G.

Yelp
I used to love their food until recently ordered Red, Green thai curry & tom kha (shrimp soup). Both curries and soup was pretty watery, that was a bit disappointing. Still giving a 3 star as, it may be one odd instance. Hoping the food is better next time.
google avatar

Jake N.

Yelp
We enjoyed take out. Our order included Thai spicy with chicken and it definitely had a kid but full of flavor! Our second dish was a decent pad Thai. We want to come here to dine in. The lady who handled our take out was super nice and this place seems like a nice spot off the beaten path.
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
Finally a place that can make it as spicy as I want it! Most Asian places around here can't. The restaurant could be a bit cleaner.
google avatar

Erica W.

Yelp
Delicious sukhothai and pad Thai noodles! Lo Marin was sub par. But service was great. I'd return.
google avatar

Jessie A.

Yelp
6 WORTHY. Not just some ordinary carryout cuisine. The owners/cooks obviously know what they are doing because this is authentic Thai food with amazing flavor. By far...my new favorite restaurant! To start our waitress recommended the Crab Rangoon (comes w/ clear sweet & sour like sauce) which was delicious and for our entrees My bf had Chicken Red Curry and I had Thai Spicy chicken stir fry. Both dishes deserved 5s. I'll be telling all about this place and will definitely be back. *cough* tomorrow! ;)

Taylor S.

Yelp
The food tastes decent here, but it's not something that I will go out of my way to come here. The atmosphere is a little weird with how the dining room is set up and so close to each other.
google avatar

Dylan H.

Yelp
So flavorful! I tried this place through DoorDash, and oh my god! Hands down, best spring rolls I've ever had! The veggie potstickers were delicious, as were the pork potstickers. The wontons in the wonton soup were so tender and lovely that they melted in my mouth! And the broth... Yum! I'll definitely be ordering from here again. This time, I had the Pad See Ewe and I cannot wait to try the drunken noodles next time!
google avatar

Kasey J.

Yelp
Pretty solid Thai food, we had the pad thai, crab rangoon, and the mango sticky rice dessert. The pad thai is delicious, but make sure to ask for extra peanut sauce! If you like crab rangoon, it pretty yummy, if you poke a lot of sauce ask for more. I love the mango sticky rice dessert!
google avatar

Sharmeela S.

Yelp
The best items we had were the pad thai and the basil goong gai. They were excellent. We also liked the green curry and chili fried rice. I didn't like the cashew chicken as much as it had pineapple in it and it just wasn't nearly as good as the goong gai. The prices are little higher than our favorite place. This is a good alternative thought when we want to try a different thai place. There's not much ambiance and the service was lacking but overall the food was good.

Doug M.

Yelp
This is the best Thai Cuisine in Cincinnati and the most authentic. They take great care to see that their octogenarian clientele is cared for with any special orders. Simply the best.
google avatar

Linsey K.

Yelp
I really need to stop comparing Thai places to my all-time favorite. So the garlic chicken dish didn't compare -- big deal. In the half dozen times I've had Sukhothai since my original visit, I have gotten the Yellow Curry lunch special wtih chicken, and it has always been really good. The spice levels are usually pretty accurate and the dish is very flavorful.

Yelp
Stopped by here for a lunch meeting with a few friends after another place we were intending to go to was closed. 12:00 PM on a Monday was fairly sparse, not a ton of people, but not completely devoid of them either. We were seated promptly and there were many options available, chairs, or booths, or window seating. The inside decor was minimal but we chose a window seat. They could do with a bit of dusting since there were spider webs and dust all over, but didn't really affect my experience. Orders were taken soon after our drinks arrived and I ordered the Mango Coconut Curry. My friends ordered a Basil Fried Rice and a Pad Thai. I was very surprised that they were very accommodating to the meat choices as my friend who ordered the Fried Rice asked for a 'combination' of meats, meaning pork, beef, and chicken, and they gladly served that up. The Pad Thai was ordered with beef and my curry was made with tofu. Food came pretty quickly, I'd say about a 10 minute wait, so it was not too bad. Very good for lunch. The portions aren't huge, but they aren't tiny. For me, I think it was just a tad too much, but otherwise, it's a pretty good size. Flavoring wise, I ordered about a 6 on a scale of ten for spicyness, and it wasn't too spicy. I probably could do with a 10 to be honest. It had just enough kick though, to overpower any of the other flavors that might have been in there, namely the saltiness. My friend's Pad Thai was, by her standards, way too salty, but they were very accomodating and took it back to the kitchen to stir in more noodles to 'dilute' the saltiness. This was great of them and speaks leaps and bounds to their customer service. I am not sure if they charged extra for the noodles, but kudos to them. My mango curry was a good, standard curry, and did have nice chunks of mango in it. I haven't cooked mango like that before, so I'm not sure how it reduces, but the pieces were soft and fibrous, but still delicious. All in all, this is a good place for lunch and they have decent food. I wouldn't say it's the best place, and I don't know if I would immediately think of this place if I wanted Thai food, but it's a nice spot to swing by if you're in the area.
google avatar

Matt D.

Yelp
Favorite Thai place so far! Very good prices, huge quantities and excellent taste. Spice levels on a scale of 4, and pickup is available on Ubereats too which is awesome. Quick service if dining in as well
google avatar

Jae B.

Yelp
The food was really great. They were very accommodating with adding things to the dishes that weren't normally in them. My only complaint was the service. There were two seemingly younger females who were the waitresses and I felt like I was constantly looking around for a water refill while they were sitting down chatting at the table in the next room. I was never asked how my meal was, and I could hear their conversation from my table. They weren't very attentive to the other guests either I noticed. I will definitely be back because the food is amazing, I just hope I receive better service next time.

Katie C.

Yelp
I can't explain how much we love this place! We are here weekly.... It's so great every time! Best pad thai in the city. We call early and place our order for whatever time we want dinner and it's always ready exactly on time and blazing hot. We will never go anywhere else.
google avatar

Tom T.

Yelp
Visited several years ago and it was OK. Tried it again a few weeks ago and we went back three days later. They do traditional Thai food (pad Thai, etc) very well. They have a northern Thai menu that's very delicious. The food tastes very fresh and the appetizer platter reveals that the food was literally prepped just hours before , clearly nothing comes out of the freezer. Careful, their heat scale is 1-4 and 2 definitely has heat. Service is quick and friendly. Definitely worth a try in Barry competitive Asian food market in and around Montgomery.
google avatar

Leana G.

Yelp
They did a really good job working with a busy take out demand during quarantine. I don't like spicy so I got a spice level of 0 on the Pad Thai and it was great, still very flavorful.
