North Broadway Is Getting a New Ramen Spot | Eater Denver

"A Greenwood Village ramen restaurant is preparing a new outpost at 450 North Broadway, in a space a few blocks south of Speer that formerly housed a location of the now-defunct local chain Fat Jack’s Supersubs. A coming-soon sign and construction equipment were visible during a recent visit, and the new site is also listed as coming soon on the restaurant’s website. The restaurant has not yet published hours or announced an opening date for this location, and requests for more information have not received a response." - Paul Albani-Burgio

Really nice atmosphere, it's a small space but well set up. The service was prompt and friendly throughout, the woman and young man who took care of me were very kind and polite. And the food? It was fantastic! The chasu buns were sooo good, and the black garlic tonkotsu ramen really hit the spot. (I do wish it had had more egg, but that's a minor quibble). The chasu was perfectly crispy, and the vegetables fresh and delicious. I'll definitely be back!

Google
I usually don’t leave reviews but this one deserves it 100 percent. I’m an asian woman and i’m very picky when it comes to asian foods. I bought the ramen and it tastes amazing. The ingredients are rich and the ginseng tastes like a cure. Best ramen I ever had in my life, no joke. And the staff are amazing, very quick, responsive and friendly.

Google
Excellent experience! Comfortable atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food. I had the Hakata Tonkotsu. It was very fresh, wonderfully seasoned, and very reasonably priced for the generous serving. I will definitely come back the next time I'm in town!

Rodolfo D.

Google
Food was good, but the waiter did not check up on us once throughout the whole time. At the end of our meal we waited for the waiter to come check up on us but only came to hand us the check . After about ten minutes we decided to leave and that’s when he yells out to the restaurant that we did not pay and we can’t leave. Only then did he go to check our table and saw that we had left both the money and tip and proceeded to count out loud the money left behind in a way that made it seem like he doubted that we left enough cash. Service was terrible.

Google
Absolutely loved this ramen spot! Curry tonkatsu was amazing. Server named Ari was incredibly friendly and attentive. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends!

When you're in the mood for something good to eat, this place is good, small area so good for 2 yet space for 3 to 4

Google
Great service and atmosphere. LOVED the pork buns and the takoyaki, the best I've had in Denver. My only complaint is the spicy tonkotsu isn't very spicy but they have chili powder and Sriracha available to spice it up to your liking

Aaron

Google
DYI noodle bowls and the Hakatata Tonkotsu with a side of kimchi! Also hot sake!

Yelp
Delicious. I got the hataka tontaksu. It's Smokey and salty and perfect. Parking in lot behind makes broadway easier to navigate. 10/10 recommend. Fast service too

Yelp
food presentation was on point here. amazing flavors and big portions... definitely worth the money (although not too pricey at all). i wish there were just a few more vegetarian options, but overall, a great menu selection. our service was quick and accurate. the server was friendly, and the atmosphere was low-key.

Yelp
my bestie's fave ramen place and now becoming mine. we loved both of our bowls and had leftovers that heated up great the next day too. everything was fresh and delicious. note that im not a ramen connoisseur but out of the three or four times I've had ramen, i loved it. kind of awkward entrance directly on colorado but once you see it on colorado, you will know where to go!

Yelp
What better meal on a cold winter's night than soup, and specifically a rich, hearty ramen. Our group of four each ordered a different kind and several appetizers. First, the pork buns, takoyaki, and karage were all delicious! The edamame had a nice seasoning (honestly it seemed like a Cajun blend of some sort, but that wasn't a bad thing). As for the ramen, we all enjoyed our selection, though I think mine could have had a bit more depth of flavor. The spicier broths won the evening for us.
google avatar

Jason K.

Yelp
The spicy tonkotsu was very flavorful and delicious. Spicy, but very manageable. The portion size was generous and the noodles were great. The gyoza was very tasty as well. I just came back from Japan so I'm a little spoiled but this is my favorite ramen place in Colorado so far.
google avatar

Jack K.

Yelp
Great ramen spot with gluten free noodles - best I've ever had! They held their shape and didn't break apart which I have never found until now. My server was also very knowledgeable about what was gluten free and what wasn't. The extra $5 for GF noodles is a little steep but at least they were good. If I lived in Denver I'd be back all the time.
google avatar

Camelle T.

Yelp
i got the hakata tonkotsu and the chicken karaage. the ramen did not have much flavor in my opinion, and sesame oil was the forefront taste in the broth, not the pork. which is odd since tonkotsu broth usually doesnt have such a forward taste of sesame oil. the chicken karaage was average, i liked that it was crispy. i did appreciate that the food came out quickly and the server checked up frequently. i liked the anime playing on the tv as well as the different figurines. it was nicely decorated inside!

Yelp
We had a good experience overall. The wait staff was nice and service was super quick - though as a note, we were one of the first ones in the restaurant at 5:30pm on a Sunday evening, but by the time we were leaving after 6, the space was almost full. The chasu pork buns were yummy, and everything in the ramen was just right. Tender meat, soup not overly salty, and a good portion for the price.
google avatar

Ginny Z.

Yelp
Had an upset stomach afterwards. The spicy tonkotsu ramen broth lacked depth it should have, while chasu was okay, the rest of ingredients were sad: bak choy isn't a Japanese ramen ingredient, the nori was not properly upright in the bowl, there should be some kind of mushroom slices based on previous dining experiences with Japanese chefs. Oh apparently they decided to charge me higher than I was tipping. The decor was pretty good though!
google avatar

Sehjal A.

Yelp
Loved coming to Sukiya Ramen! This casual ramen spot was perfect for a weeknight dinner. Their Chasu Buns were AMAZING, I almost ordered seconds! The Spicy Tonkatsu was also delicious but could've used a little more spice in my opinion. Overall a great experience, will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
This is my go to places for ramen and I went to this location for the first time last night. The place wasn't super busy which was nice. There was a steady stream of people coming in after I got there. Got an app that came out pretty quickly, and the ramen came out shortly after. The place was clean and inviting, and I liked the set up. They had a bar that if you came by yourself it would be nice to sit at. I would go again.
google avatar

Pea C.

Yelp
Friendly service, not too many people with a chill ambiance. I had the Pork Gyoza, Curry Tonkotsu and a Sapporo beer. Everything was delicious, the gyoza was soft and the drizzle sauce was sweet, the ramen has a light curry flavor more on the savory side and the katsu is cooked perfectly.Beer is always great but definitely recommend for anyone looking for a hearty meal :3

Yelp
This was our first time at this place. Walking in our first impressions were good. They had a good amount of anime related figures on the bar. Lots of seating 9 tables plus a long bar. The server was really friendly. The menu is pretty good size too. We got the pork gyoza which was delicious I could eat a dozen of them. And the beef ramen and Tokyo shoyu both hit the spot. In total we paid about $50 with tip. We'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Marissa F.

Yelp
I thought this was pretty bad ramen. The service and everything was fine. Nothing spectacular. This is kind of a you have to know it's there type place. I was facing the door so I didn't get a feel for the vibe. I had the hankatsu ramen. The broth lacked depth and flavor. The noodles were good but there were almost too many and my biggest problem was with the pork. It was hard, inedible, and a giant chunk that because it was so hard you couldn't not break it up into smaller pieces. Every other place I've had ramen the pork is tender and you can easily break it apart. This place really disappointed.
google avatar

Corey S.

Yelp
This restaurant was super fun! They had anime playing in the background, fun music, Christmas lights up, and lots of delicious foods to choose from. Perfect for a cold day to warm up with ramen! They serve traditional ramens from different regions in Japan- Hakata Tonkptsu, Sapporo Miso, Tokyo Shoyu and Nagasaki Seafood. The service is fast and friendly and helped answer any questions you have on different food options and how they are made. The ingredients were fresh and high quality. Parking can be a bit tricky at times on Broadway but it's worth the it!

Yelp
This location is our go-to for ramen. The food and service are always fantastic! The Greenwood Village location is good too!

Yelp
Craving satisfied! My friend and I wanted to try a new ramen place for lunch. Sukiya (specifically the Godzilla Ramen) was recommended to me, and it was completely empty in the middle of the weekday we visited. There was even spaces in the connected parking lot. Seriously, nothing will make you more paranoid than free parking on Broadway. I got the Spicy Chasu Miso Ramen, which had TWO red peppers on the menu but wasn't spicy at all. Should have asked for extra heat. I heard the same thing about the Godzilla Ramen but still decided to be conservative. Sad panda. The ingredients overall, plus service, were good. And all the anime décor is adorable! Try guessing where all the action figures came from. Anyways, I'd come again but order an extra spicy Godzilla Ramen next time.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, fast service, and good conversation. Stopped in one afternoon for lunch and was very happy with the experience. Got the homemade Kimchi ramen bowl and loved it. Will definitely be back

Yelp
Food was very good and very Japanese. Have a good selection. The best I can say is try it, I think you will.

Yelp
We must've gone on a night when Broadway was getting busy but here. Service was pretty good throughout. The appetizers were tasty too. We ordered edamame, baos, and gyoza. I ordered a standard shoyu ramen and when it arrived the experience just went downhill. Overly salted with shoyu added. I tried to finish my bowl and I apologize but I just couldn't. This would've made a kidney stone or two appear so I had to stop half way through. They probably make their dishes to favor American (and western) palettes.). That's my only guess. Nothing was authentic about my ramen. If you want authentic I would recommend searching elsewhere. If you're just getting your night started, stop by here for a couple appetizers and pre-game. Then head somewhere else for a better culinary experience.

Yelp
Portion size smaller than other ramen places but was very yummy! Would eat here again!

Yelp
This is my favorite ramen spot that I've found so far in Denver. My partner is a meat eater and I'm vegetarian so it's nice to find a place that has options for both of us! I had the vegi miso and it was great! The broth is rich and full of flavor which is one thing many ramen spots lack on. I loved all the toppings as well. I wish there was extra egg to make up for no meat, as tofu doesn't have any flavor, but it was delicious and the perfect amount! My partner had the hakata tonkotsu. This is also his favorite ramen spot in the area and he loves the broth and the toppings. He did say the pork could have more flavor, but other than that everything was great. Our server was also very kind and attentive.

Yelp
Since I've been in Denver I've been on a low carb diet so I haven't been checking out the food scene much. So, each of the last two Sundays I've decided to have a cheat meal here. The spicy chasu miso is amazing and compares favorably to some of my favorite ramen spots back home. I appreciate that they grill the chasu and it gives it a delicious crispness. The gyoza was very good. My mouth is watering as I write this. I can't wait to visit again tomorrow.
google avatar

Thao T.

Yelp
We got the Takoyaki and chicken karaage. Both were really good, specially the Takoyaki. I got the spicy tonkatsu and asked for extra spicy. The extra spicy was a mistake on my part because I thought spicy would not be spicy enough... I was wrong. The broth is very creamy and flavorful. Service was very quick.
google avatar

Derek K.

Yelp
Chasu don, curry tonkotsu, salmón poke and spicy miso. 5 stars delivered by that pork belly of the chasu don. We ordered food and we had food to spare for a few more days. Sukiya ramen is quite, smaller and really peaceful. It's cute and the food is honestly delicious. For ramen, a $15 bowl is pricy, but we came here on Valentine's Day and so I was here to splurge. Come and eat, our waiter was so attentive and friendly.

Yelp
Godzilla Ramen. This place is awesome. Great service, food...everything. Draft Asahi and decent sake list.

Yelp
This is my new favorite ramen in Colorado, after some relatively extensive searching. They've expanded to multiple locations with good reason. I just wish they'd expand further northwest now, selfishly. The space itself is great. Not super large, but it feels open and authentic. There are small random decor and trinkets that are fun to visually appreciate, and the overall atmosphere is pleasant, cozy, down-to-earth. Even the ramen came with a proper rustic-feeling wooden spoon. On that note, the reason I drove halfway across Denver was to find good ramen. I tried the Hakata Tonkotsu, and it was mesmerizing. Not perfect, but I can confidently say it's my favorite ramen in Colorado. Surprisingly, its shortcomings are typically a big deal for me. The egg was a bit cold, but flavorful in its own right. The chashu pork was not a very impressive cut, nor was it cooked very well. A bit overdone. But the broth and the overall package offering was easily good enough to make me forget the small complaints. They have a number of other options, but honestly, I'd be hard-pressed to not revisit the same thing. In fact, if it's identical next time around, I'll just have them re-do the egg and pork because if those were sorted, it'd be perfect. I'll be back. The staff were super nice and efficient, so I wouldn't hesitate to ask a favor for the flavor. And please open one closer to Boulder.
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
Delicious little ramen spot on Broadway. Nice selection of tonkotsu and ramen broths. I opted for the Hakata tonkotsu ramen and the broth was so good and hot on a snowy, cold evening. The also had the chashu (pork belly) buns which were so fluffy and flavorful. Definitely would like to go back to try their other ramen choices.

Yelp
Visiting Denver so I'm not a ramen expert of these parts, but decided to stop at Sukiya because its menu looked promising. TL/DR: The ramen is okay/mildly disappointing, but the appetizers are fine, the atmosphere is fun, and the service is good. For the ramen, there were a few issues. First, the shio (salt) ramen broth lacked the advertised (clear) pork broth flavor and the telltale drops of porkfat oil. Rather, it was a lot of salt and some seaweed dashi. I can't say for certain, but there's a decent chance it's been boosted with cartons of premade broth. To support this possibility, my friends' tonkotsu broth were similarly thin and low on pork flavor. Second, the thin slices of pork belly chashu was inconsistent. One side would be pretty tasty, yet the other side would be grilled to the consistency of bacon, which was not appealing. Third, the bowl contained toppings such as corn and pickled red ginger (beni shoga) that might be associated with ramen or Japanese cuisine, but amounted to Japanese culinary cosplay. Corn is often in miso ramen, but in shio ramen it's simply too sweet and overwhelms the subtle flavor of the shio broth. Beni shoga is a palate cleanser that one often sees in heavy, oily yakisoba and donburi, but is not necessary in ramen and rather overwhelms each bite. The disappointing ramen was a shame, since Sukiya is quite good in other areas. Even within the ramen itself, I liked some of the topppings and the noodles had decent bite...though I believe they use the same noodle for all their bowls, which is not recommended. The karaage, though fried for too long, at least used thigh meat and was decent. Décor and atmosphere was terrific, with plenty of Japanese anime figurines about and Japanese televeision commercials playing in the background. Service from our server was excellent too, with helpful and honest recommendations of what to order. Sukiya is a fun location with some decent food options. The ramen falls short of its claim of "Authentic Japanese Ramen," but it will do in a pinch. I just hope they will consider making a few changes to up their game even more.
google avatar

Morgan L.

Yelp
This is a perfect place to satisfy your ramen cravings! With plenty of ramen options you're sure to find something for everyone. You can also create your own bowl (however this is much pricier than the pre-selected bowls.) The food arrived quickly and service was great. I also ordered some buns that were very delicious. Sadly I am not a ginger fan so I had to ask for no ginger on all of my food (since most of the menu options have ginger on them.) Just keep that in mind if you don't like ginger! The price is fair for what you get; this is a great choice for a ramen place!
google avatar

Doug M.

Yelp
Hi, continue to be amazed at all of the flavors and consistency of this restaurant! The pork is amazing. The buns have so much flavor! This meal might've been the best in a few months!
google avatar

Madi H.

Yelp
Yummy yummy vegetarian ramen PLUS gyoza! I love when places have veggie options for gyoza because it's my absolute favorite. I was super full after this meal. I was sat super quickly even at prime dinner time. It's a cute place, feels pretty bright and casual. Fast service. Kind workers. I'll have to try the other veggie options next time i come!
google avatar

Christan L.

Yelp
Wish this location would up their service game. Between having to wait forever to have our order taken and the inconsistency with ordering - Im gonna have to skip coming to this location for a bit, in hopes they improve. Sad because the Arapahoe Road location is so excellent across the board. Went in last night around 7. Took quite a while for the one person running the floor to even take our order. Understandable cause the place was full. Then we were told there was only one portion of rice available and we'd have to change our order. No rice at 7pm at a Japanese restaurant?! Then we didn't even receive the miso soup that came with the teriyaki chicken bowl (that we were only able to order 1 of cause of no more rice)?! I would suggest having more than 1 person working the floor during prime time and make more rice.
google avatar

Meg C.

Yelp
Decent ramen, tried the Hakata Tonkatsu. Broth was flavorful without being overly salty. The noodles were a touch mushy and thinner than I expected. We also tried the pork buns and the pork was really tasty, just wish there had been more pork. Service was a bit slow, but friendly.

Scott M.

Yelp
Very courteous and friendly service -- no rush, read the menu, order an appetizer and relax. A colleague of mine ordered the Tonkatsu, opining that the broth was very smooth, not oily, as it can be in some Los Angeles noodle restaurants. I had the Tsukemen (note: some assembly required) and really enjoyed it. Tsukemen is definitely a value dish with lots of food for the money. You don't walk away feeling you need more. You walk away full.

Yelp
Ok, since when has Denver become a Ramen powerhouse!? I wasn't notified in advance that I was going to experience one of the most flavorful, expertly executed Ramen ever. That's right, EVER. I've had Ramen from San Fran all the way to NYC ... and when I say that the warmth, bold flavor, and unique combination of ingredients this place packs into their giant soup bowls is extraordinary. Hands down one of the best Ive had. The broth, the noodles, the eggs the pork, the spicy factor. It was all on target. I could've eaten two bowls! Price is great and service is wonderful. I may have to go again before I head back to FL. Also, the pan seared gyoza! Applause for this rendition! Yummy! Better than the usual steamed or fried. Also, no ponzu sauce but I swear they blast it with ponzu flavor so you do not need to deal with messy dipping! Lastly the seaweed salad, another winner. It was a classic approach but they added cucumber slices. Portion is a bit smaller than usual but was fair based on the price. I'd order again. Overall this place has been the highlight of my trip to Denver. Put Ramen on the list when you're in town.

Yelp
Food so good it'll make you forget about the cosmic absurdity that surrounds you at all times, at least for a brief moment. The Wizard's Chest across the street is pretty epic as well.

Yelp
Finally got to try out this adorable little ramen spot last night-- and I totally loved it! It's hard to compete with all the awesome Ramen spots here in Denver, but Sukiya knows what they're doing!! I would recommend them to anyone who loves ramen-- including my foodie clan!! I'm surprised that I had not seen a ton of reviews on this place. I hope more people check them out and they can continue to grow and expand across Denver!!
google avatar

Johnny F.

Yelp
Yeah, I might just be jaded by phenomenal Ramen but I'm utterly shocked at these reviews. Maybe it's just Colorado's ramen scene is lackluster but it was completely OK. The broth? Nothing to write home. The char siu? This was the star. The noodles? It was playing second fiddle. Nothing special, but the gyoza were good. This was my one Ramen spot during the trip out of the others to pick from. Maybe it was a bad day? I left unsatisfied with my cravings.

Millie Roo S.

Yelp
The service was beyond incredible. Zoba, our server, made me feel like a dear friend was taking my order. And THEN he kept bringing out food we ordered, and each dish was more amazing than the one before it. Truly great experience.

Yelp
It is the "IT" spot for a cold rameny day! Flavors are unique and tasty. Can't go wrong with alcohol, they have many kinds ! Will return soon!

Yelp
Bruh, idk if they just had an off day but this is by far the WORST ramen I've ever had. My bf and I ordered from UberEats. I was pleased by the careful packaging and the appearance of the ramen, everything looked perfect. Then I ate it. Im actually mad at how bad this ramen is. I ordered the spicy tonkatsu. Absolutely, unforgivably BLAND AND FLAVORLESS. the pork belly? DRY, STIFF and FLAVORLESS. There was a MASS of uncooked chives that were BITTER and disgusting. Not sliced or lightly sautéed to reduce the burning bitterness. The noodles were undercooked and FLAVORLESS. The bok choy was undercooked, chewy and still bitter. I literally spit that and the chives out. INEDIBLE. Also spicy??? Where?? The chili oil was like, if someone screamed chili from a across the room to give it flavor. Like I'm truly mad at how bad this ramen is. The only redeeming thing was the egg. My boyfriend ordered the miso ramen also BLAND AF. it's like this restaurant has never eaten ramen or doesn't know what umami is! I am SHOCKED! Even the flippin edamame had NO SALT on it. I wonder if they've just over adjusted to a western palette and completely compromised the beautiful rich flavors of Japan bc people don't understand seasoning and are used to eating bland food here. Shocking, truly shocking. Eat here if you're the kind of person that likes boiled unseasoned chicken I guess, but if you're looking for authentic or real flavor, this is NOT it.

Therese S.

Yelp
I wanted a quick bite. Great choice! Parking in the back Ramen is yummy. Service is good Chill vibes. I'll be back.

Yelp
Phil and I came in here for lunch on a weekday, the place was empty besides one table. We ordered: - Pork Tonkastu Ramen - Chicken Tonkastu Ramen - Gyoza - Takoyaki I love takoyaki, so whenever I see it on the menu I have to order it! It was pretty good here. I also tried the gyoza and it was good. The ramen was pretty good too! Overall, we had a good experience here!
google avatar

Cassandra R.

Yelp
an of ramen noodle soup so I was glad to see diff options. I went for the beef fried noodle bowl (beef yakisoba) without the yolk and it was absolutely fantastic with an great flavor that is indescribable. Very rich and umami. The noodles were very fresh and hearty. The meal was filling and like nothing I have ever had before. I also got an order of chicken boa buns, but these boa buns were a little stickier than my preference in that, with every bite the buns world stick to my teeth, but the flavor was great! Some things to know is that this is in the downtown area so you have to hope for best when it comes to parking. You are given chopsticks to eat with. although I would've preferred to fork, I wasn't gonna embarrass myself and ask for for since I do know how to use chopsticks, but just know there is no silverware on the table. If they do offer silverware you would definitely have to ask for it. There are no dessert dishes but they serve mochi if you need something sweet. The lychee soju, alcoholic beverage was delicious. I can't wait to come back here and into some opl
google avatar

Yelp
This is definitely one of the better ramen spots in Denver. They have gf noodles and the flavors are all there. Service is average. Small restaurant and it was busy on a chilly evening.

Ann R.

Yelp
Really good food. Got the spicy tonkatsu ramen and it was great. Good service too. Would recommend.

Yelp
WOW! I'm so glad they opened up this location. I ordered dumplings and the spicy tonkotus with shrimp. The dumplings were delicious. The meats were tender and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The broth was tasteful and spicy. The environment was chill. I love the layout of the place. There's plenty of parking on the right side of the building. There's also parallel parking right in front of the restaurant but you have to pay for it. The service was great. The servers were every attentive. I can't wait to come back when I visit Denver again.
