Disappointed doesn't even begin to describe my latest experience. We decided to forego a traditional Christmas Dinner and go to Sullivan's, instead.
First, when making the reservation, we had to give out credit card. Not the end of the world. But, I soon read and had to agree that if we missed our set reservation, my card would be charged $25/pp...which amounts to $50. Sheesh!
So, we got there 30 mins early. There were a good amount of people waiting. No big deal, I'd been here years prior and it was amazing so I'm okay with the crowd.
But...my wife noticed as we were waiting...people who were already seated and being served were COMPLAINING. Still, I'm gonna eat...I'm not losing $50
We're seated, actually on time. Our server, Nicole, was great, the ONLY worthwhile part of the night. My wife and I placed out appetizer order. It came rather quickly(Good!). The Pork Belly was OVERDOSED on pepper...but maybe that's just how they make it
My wife and I each place our steak orders and each place our orders of sides.
...our foods don't arrive until AN HOUR after we've been seated, I almost fell asleep.
My wife's full order came, only my steak came, but not my side...
Oops! NEITHER of our steaks are anywhere close to cooked to our specifications. I wanted Well/Med Well...it came back almost Rare. My wife's came back so under-rare, I think the steak still had memories of his life "before" the slaughterhouse. We send them back...
Another long wait, now my steak is done...but my wife's filet is STILL RARE...and I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY SIDE
My wife has given up at this point, and just asks to take it off the bill and orders Banana's Foster and ice cream. "They can't mess this up"...famous last words...
My side comes, after I reminded them it was still missing. It came along with my wife's dessert. Her Banana's Foster was burnt on the bottom and COLD on the inside. And, my side(mac & cheese) had water in it, as if they rushed the straining of the noodles and all the water wound up in the serving dish
Like I said, Nicole the server(who we learned is actually the BARTENDER) did her best, she was very apologetic and mentioned that the restaurant had a lot of "callouts" today. Like I said it wasn't her fault, and she did great, but PEOPLE NEED TO BE FIRED FOR THIS. This place costs FAR TOO MUCH for there to be ANY level of excuses or shortcomings.
I may never return...at least not the KOP Location
