Seattle’s Best Restaurants That Are Open Late

"Out of the many shawarma spots open late at night on University Ave., Sultan’s Gyro stands out for its satisfying falafel sandwiches with feta, well-executed fries, and other dishes. Expect a wait on weekends when it is open until 2 a.m." - Eater Staff

I wish I had discovered this Shawarma spot long ago! This is easily one of the best Shawarmas I’ve had. I tried both the Arabic Shawarma and the regular chicken Shawarma, and they were both great—but the Arabic Shawarma is incredibly close to the authentic taste. The Saj bread takes it to another level! Maybe the Arabic Shawarma without onions would make it absolutely perfect, but overall, it’s amazing. I visit all the way from Everett just for this, and it’s totally worth it. A must-try spot, and I’ll definitely be recommending it to friends!

Google
I got the 19 shawarma and it was packed with flavors. Taste was on point and it’s affordable. But I found two strands of hair on my first bite which I should’ve seen coming since the place isn’t exactly clean.

Very friendly folks here at Sultan Gyro Grill! Great college eats, good shawarma, good veggie platter, excellent hummus. Just a straight forward lovely spot on the Ave.

Google
Too good! The Arabic Shawarma is fire and literally the best I've ever had. No other place can compare after trying it. Sultan is consistently tasty. It can get busy and as a result, the wait time can be a 15-20 minutes sometimes, but it's so worth it.

Google
Beef shawarma: JUICY, spiced, $11, toasted nicely Beef rice plate: Rice is spiced beautifully, portion enough for one meal, $17, Hummus: very plain tasted just like tahini and chickpeas but not really garlic Bread: soft while warm but hard when it was cold Grape leaves: tasted just like the waraq ainab im used to but nothing too special. Wish they had a version with ground meat

It’s hard to describe just how good the food at sultans is in words, however I can tell you what sultans has done for me in the two years I’ve been a student at UW. Whenever I go out to eat on the ave it’s from sultans, if I’m with friends and we go anywhere else I know it will be a disappointment compared to their beef shawarma combo (highly recommend) and it always is. I am honestly yet to find a place better than this, their food is so hearty and juicy and the staff is so nice, I would really just recommend you try it out and thank me later. I will come back here as long as I’m in Seattle.

Google
First, the sandwich. The outside pita bread was really well toasted, and had serious weight to it - it was pretty dense. I found that this added a really great outer layer to each bite of the Gyro wrap The lamb and beef were quite plentiful - even to the point where they would often spill out of the sandwich. The portion size was pretty impressive I also really liked the way these tasted - they were quite flavorful - and not overcooked at all - rather quite juicy when you bit into them The vegetables were also good - what I would say is a bit more diversity in vegetables (eg: adding black olives, mushrooms, etc..) as this mostly just consisted of lettuce and a few onions thrown in. Also probably less vegetables in general would be better I loved the white sauce in this - it mixed so well with everything else - coating the pita, vegetables, and especially the lamb and beef in a beautiful outer layer This is what really elevated the sandwich as a whole Additionally, for the relatively low price point, this sandwich was actually pretty large - something that was impressive I do wish the wrap stayed together a bit more, however - as stuff was constantly falling out and I would have to put it back in. This is where the increased amount of lettuce didn't help the experience Now, let's get to the real star of this order - the Greek Fries There are words to describe these - but I'm not sure I have the vocabulary All I can say is that I haven't had Greek Fries even close to this before - as a matter of fact - I haven't had any french fries even close to this before A lot of people think Greek Fries are about the feta cheese you put on there. What Sultan's understands is that yes, the feta cheese is really important, which is why they have a ton of it on there However, what they also understand is the real key is the Tzatziki sauce - and the amount of it What good is Greek Fries if the cheese just falls through the fries? Or, what good is it if the sauce and cheese are just applied to the top layer of fries and all the remaining ones near the bottom remain dry? What truly makes these fries all-time is the amount of the sauce they use - what this does it a) allows the sauce to take over the entire box of fries and b) allows the cheese to really stick to the fries The amount of this sauce + cheese combination used means that even though at the start it's only applied to the fries at the top, while eating it flows down and fuses itself with all the fries at the bottom as well When I say coat the fries, that's an understatement. Each individual fry is absolutely smothered in this mixture - which is truly what makes these so incredibly good When I want Greek Fries, I don't want my fries to feel like they're dipped in the sauce. I want my fries to feel like they are the sauce - so the majority of the flavor comes from the sauce itself and not the fries. The fries should simply exist as a backbone - something to give texture. It should play a similar function to what the pita does in the Gyro Nowhere is that more present than in these fries - where each fry is practically drowning in the Tzatziki sauce + feta cheese combination You know there's a lot of sauce when after every fry, I have to lick my fingers clean of the sauce - and this still tasted amazing I don't know if I need to even mention this, but for the price point, these are also incredible as well Overall: A pretty-good wrap with all time fries delivers excellent results Classic Lamb & Beef Gyro: 8.15/10 Greek Fries: 10/10 Overall: 9.25/10

Our friend reccomended this place after a concert and it seriously hit the spot! The prices are reasonable for the quality and amount of food you get. I got the chicken scharwma which was just so delicious, the pita was soft, the vegetables were fresh, the sauce was so good! Loved it!

Yelp
Entering Sultan Gyro Grill & Shawarma reminds me of visiting stores of my childhood in a foreign country: the smell of spices, meat and vegetables on the grill remind me that I'm here for a good time. I have been a customer for about a year now, visiting several times a month. In short, it is well worth the price for all that you get. The staff are friendly and patient, the food is hot, delicious, and filled with flavour. The Tzatziki is not nearly as garlic rich as other ME or Greek stops would offer, but rather has a fresh lightness to it that complements the chicken breast it often accompanies. I highly recommend their Arabic Shawarma and the #25 Platter, Chicken.

Yelp
Sultan is one of those small restaurants you walk by with a window to order and know that there's something special inside. Their food is fairly priced, and there are a variety of items. The staff were friendly in ordering and were patient in clarifying a few items. I went with the Kufta combo, which featured ground beef. It was made fresh, and it took about 15 minutes. The Kufta wrap was delicious, but there was a bit too much sauce, which ended up leaking out. On the topic of sauce, it is not included with fries. I was, however, surprised at how good the fries were - seasoned with BBQ or cajun and sported the perfect crisp exterior with smooth interior. The restaurant itself wasn't too spacious, and the selection of drinks were limited. Many were out of stock, and I wish there were a few more options. Other than that, it was a very tasty dinner!

Yelp
Food was dry & tasted not fresh. Service was great & ambiance is decent but the food is sub par at best. Will not be returning here

Yelp
We were in a hurry to a lecture, so we entered the place. It's a fast food Mediterranean place. We were three people and all ordered together. The first dish came after 5 minutes, the second order came 10 minutes after the first one and the third order arrived 10 minutes after the second order. In total - 25 minutes to get all of the dishes. We ended up eating independently, otherwise it would have gone cold. Was it worth it? Big No. My chicken salad was sooo dry! The chicken... and the salad dressing was sour... the tzatziki was tasteless and the shawarma was very fatty from oil. The kofta was ok, but the bread they fold it in - lafa - was very thick and chewy. And we were late to our lecture.

Karishma A.

Yelp
**vegetarian review** This is one of my late night take out spots. It's fairly basic and well executed Mediterranean food. I usually go for Mediterranean platter and Arabic falafel wrap. I don't prefer the fried cauliflower, eggplant dishes since they absorb a lot of oil. They are very quick as well as well priced. Will continue to go here for a while
google avatar

Temirlan T.

Yelp
Nice place, I recommend you all guys trying Arabic shawarma with chicken! Especially a combo one which was only around $15 after taxes, try a garlic sauce for sure! The only con is the restroom which looks like a public restroom in downtown Seattle .
google avatar

Thibault S.

Yelp
Sultan Gyro is my go-to for "I don't want to cook, and I want comforting food". Their schwarmas are really good, I love the fact that they are "grilled" afterwards, it's not like your basic gyro. The garlic sauce is very garlicky (you will smell like garlic), so be careful. The rest of their food is good as well, I just don't remember it well enough, because the schwarmas just stole the spotlight.

Yelp
It was open late after a workout so I decided to try this hole in the wall place. It did take a while to get my kebab sando but that's fair as the menu said it would take that long. It was quite good though! The meat was quality and it hit the spot.
google avatar

Hilary W.

Yelp
Yummy! A small hole-in-the-wall feeling spot that has good food, and and a brightly lit simple decor. I came here with 3 friends and we enjoyed a simple bite - the Mediterranean Veggie Platter and the Chicken Shwarma (asked for it "Arabic style".) Delicious!
google avatar

Sharece B.

Yelp
The food is good, but the wait it long. Sultan Gyro Grill & Shawarma has my kind of food. It's delicious and worth the wait though you may want to schedule a plan B if you're in a hurry. I suggest ordering a shawarma with fries. Make sure to get their garlic sauce as well. The flavors are amazing - though they may linger too long in the masked world we now live in. (Pro-tip: Pack your toothbrush for a quick cleaning after eating.) Sultan's deserves the 4 stars I'm giving it. And honestly, even though you may wait a while for the food, you will love it.

Yelp
This place made me want to leave my first yelp review. I LOVE the staff and can't believe any of the negative reviews about them! I have come in a few times after a night out and they seem to remember me even though they are always so busy! The food is incredible and gives the vibe of a truly family owned and run business. I go there for the food but also just the experience, no matter how busy they are it's always the best time!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
google avatar

Bret N.

Yelp
After they forgot my sauce and gave me the wrong soda which I found out after my husband returned home with the food he went back to get the sauce and exchange the soda and was called a "delivery boy bitch" and was told they were busy. They eventually got him some pre-portioned sauce and he grabbed the right soda, but I will definitely stick with Aladdin's from now on. The food is good, but definitely not better than Aladdin's or any of the several gyro places on the ave and definitely not worth being called names by staff.

Yelp
Very nice food and very nice customer service last weekend me and my sister came from a long trip from Cali and people recommended this place and this handsome tall guy wears a beanie recommended me and my sister a beef shawarma and a gyro both with fries and a drink my sister thought the guy was cute ;) but food was so incredibly amazing we will definitely come back again and try other stuff the price are awesome this place is very underrated .

Yelp
This place is the BOMB!! My family and I were starving and looking for a place to eat for lunch and randomly came across this store. There is seating on the inside but I think a lot of people seemed to be getting takeout? I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and the others got the gyro plate. I am soooo happy I got the shawarma wrap because DAYUM the pita bread here is insanely delicious. So fluffy and soft and warm and thickety thick thick. There's nothing I hate more than hella dry pita so I was very impressed with theirs. It almost has more of the texture of naan than your usual grocery store type pita bread. The chicken was also so juicy and flavorful and the hummus in it was bomb. My combo came with either rice, salad, or fries and although I wanted their tasty looking fries I opted for their rice. Also freaking good and it comes with this cucumber looking yogurt sauce (it's a yogurt sauce that's slightly green, no idea whats in it) that was SO GOOD!! Loved it. The gyro (lamb and beef) was also really delish. Their plate came with a salad, which I took a few bites of, and again, also bomb.com. The dressing wasn't oily and was very tart and refreshing which complemented the heavier meats. I will DEFINITELY come back here if I'm craving shawarma in the future!!

Yelp
Sultan Grill is one of my FAVORITE spots for Greek food. The Gyro's are delicious, Greek Fries are addicting, & the customer service is always good. Parking in U-District can be tough but this place is right next to a parking lot which makes it easy to carry-out.
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
They were nice, have a restroom and self serve water! The Arabic Shawarma and Garlic sauce was delicious!
google avatar

Andrea M.

Yelp
They did not pay attention to the order I asked for light lettuce I paid extra for two sides of sauce which is not typical to Zieke sauce this is terrible and nasty and taste like beans and sour cream combo but the baklava it looks good I haven't tried it yet also I did not get the soda that was included in my mail and when I tried to order an additional soda from Uber eats through them they require you to order a minimum of three sodas despite however many sandwiches and then when I called the man wanted to argue with me poor customer service I will never order from this place again they don't read the directions and they don't care about their customers feedback
google avatar

Alex N.

Yelp
I love eating from this place but each time i come I feel that I should never come back. customers service is Zero Start - nothing... I am sure it's the culture or Not but the cashiers is so fucking rude. food is not bad but Sometimes they use fresh chicken sometimes the chicken is over over over cooked, maybe they keep cooking again Before they put it in the sandwich....
google avatar

Yelp
This is probably one of the best gyros in town! Its also open pretty late, like 3 AM! Good shawarmas and gyros for such less price! We ordered a lot as we were all hungry! 1.Veggie platter- it had Falafel, Pita, Baba Ganoush, Hummus, Dolmas and Salad. Such variety! 2. Lamb Shawarma with a side of Salad 3. Greek Fries- Such yummy fries with feta cheese! 4. Chicken Shawarma 5. Chicken kebabs

Yelp
If I could give 10 stars I would!! My sis and I came in for lunch--everyone was so welcoming and helped us decide on our orders I ordered Chicken Kabob plate with hummus-salad-the best rice I've ever tasted!! The meal was so delicious!
google avatar

Zachary H.

Yelp
So I ordered their food on Uber Eats and didn't actually see their establishment. That being said, I don't have to see it to tell you that their food is bomb. The Greek fries are phenomenal. My gf and I agree that you must order this as a side with whatever else you get. The sauce that comes on them is top notch, they give a lot of feta cheese and also the fries themselves are cooked to perfection. We also each got a Gyro super turbo with lamb and beef. These are also excellent and packed PHAT. I haven't tried their other food but from these dishes I would think that the other stuff is likely just as tasty. One of the best parts about this place is the price. For $30 my girlfriend and I had enough food for dinner and a snack the next day. We highly recommend this place and make sure you get the fries!!

Yelp
Best Mediterranean style food in the greater Seattle area. Been eating there since undergrad at the UW and still come back to grab an Arabic shawarma combo meal.
google avatar

Nita L.

Yelp
This place is one of the few that is open until the wee hours of the night (2 am). Food is good and cheap! I got the veggie plate which came with hummus, baba ghanoush, dolmas, falafel, salad and pita bread! Also added lamb-beef gyro for an additional 2.9 dollars. Best of everything! I absolutely loved my veggie plate. My friend got the lamb shawarma though the meat of which was Way too well done to enjoy. Overall this place is worth it.

Yelp
We were just walking by the university road at 10.30 pm trying to find some food on a Sunday. We just came across this place and thought of giving it a try. I tried the veggie after with egg plant and the quantity was really good. They served pita bread, hummus, yellow rice and eggplant. The food was good and was filling.

Yelp
According to the Mint app, I've spent a small fortune across innumerable late-night visits at Sultan's over the past 2 years. Despite the well-intentioned concerns and protestations of this small, glowing rectangle in my hand, I simply can't seem to stop... The #25 chicken combo (w/ extra meat, extra pita & hot sauce on the side) has been my go-to takeout meal since moving here, and I deeply appreciate the late-night hours as an incorrigible night-owl. The folks that own & work here are incredibly friendly and hospitable; and as a side-benefit, I find them to be incredibly helpful in my attempts at self-delusion, as I continue my increasingly troublesome spending at this humble eatery (Mint's words, not mine). Out of curiosity, I've tried a lot of competitors in the "low-cost Arabic/Mediterranean segment" in Greater Seattle area - and nope, none have come close to knocking Sultan off its perch. For late night competitors, despite an easy 3 minute drive to/from the nearby Dick's Drive-In - I find myself spending the additional 20 minutes on the I-5 in an unyielding cycle. Why? Simply to experience the #25 Combo all over again, of course! An unassuming, yet divine orchestra of crisp vegetable salad with tangy feta crumbles, hearty chunks of well-seasoned chicken, divinely pureed hummus, deeply fragrant rice and of course, that tangy and effervescent hot sauce. Well, its now slightly past midnight, and this quick jaunt down memory lane has me thinking of visiting some old friends again... I apologize to my Mint app in advance...

Yelp
It's my personal favorite Arab restaurant in the greater Seattle area. They are Jordanian to be specific... I come here simply because the service is spectacular, especially for a place on the Ave.......They have the friendliest and most respectful people working behind the counter. The lamb and beef gyro meat is less salty than I've had at most places and is cooked with more turmeric. Delicious. The gyro sammiches here are larger than Shawarma King or Aladin's Gyro-cery across the street. They also have better fries too. 7.99 combo with either fries, rice or house salad is my go to. Chicken shawarma is also amazing. I cross the bridge from the east side just to eat here. Would def recommend!

David B.

Yelp
Doesn't get as much attention as Aladdin, but makes a better shawarma. Spot on with the pickles.
google avatar

Kadar M.

Yelp
The arabic shawarma is hit or miss. One day it was good enough to eat then last night they put a gallon of sauce in my arabic shawarma. I need that $13.20 back expeditiously.
google avatar

Stella H.

Yelp
Food lived up to all of the previous reviews Excellent Gyro and Greek Fries!!! I think I ordered something other than what I thought but with a piece of fluffy warm pita bread Trust it was ALL GOOD I don't know what that sauce was but I will know before I leave spicy but not too hot yummy
google avatar

Chubby K.

Yelp
I had the Chicken Gyro Super Turbo for $8.99 and it was way more food than I expected. Taste was excellent, moist and nothing dry, great in-depth flavor. Service was polite and fast.
google avatar

Kat V.

Yelp
This place is okay. I was missing Zankou's Chicken back home in LA and set out to find a place with a similar garlic sauce. I saw several reviews here mentioning garlic sauce so I knew I needed to give Sultan a try. I ordered the Arabic chicken shawarma, which I found to be on the dry side. The fries were overcooked and hard. And unfortunately the garlic sauce was nowhere near the level of Zankou's. It didn't taste garlicky enough. So all in all I was disappointed, but still glad I gave it a try. It's decent and might satisfy your Middle Eastern craving just fine, but I wasn't impressed and I probably won't be back.
google avatar

Roxan M.

Yelp
I was craving for a shawarma plate. So I asked if the arabic shawarma combo comes in a plate and the guy behind the counter said yes. I was expecting a deconstructed shawarma, however they serve it on a pita bread with fries on the side. Anyway, let us sum it up. 4 star for the taste. The meat is well-seasoned however I find it lacking in sauce. The lamb does not have an after taste and The beef is a little bit overcooked. 3 star for the portion. I was expecting a hummus on the side since I ordered the arabic combo plate. But I did not get one as the hummus is written on the menu. There was a generous amount of protein, but it lacks sauce on the pita bread. 3.5 star for the customer service, the guy was friendly But I did not get what I was expecting from explanation and from what is written on the menu. This place deserves 3.5 stars, but I will give it another try next month and ill try to update this review.

Ayub G.

Yelp
I came here with my friends and ordered a kofta kabob wrap. The food wasn't bad alx, but the fries were drenched in oil. I waited about 30 min for the food just to end up getting food poisoning. I work at a Mediterranean restaurant in Arizona so I'm aware kofta meat shouldn't be kept longer than a few days. The pain was so bad I was put on morphine. However my friends had the chicken and didn't have a problem with it. 3.5 stars for the food. 1 star for the experience. Especially being a tourist!
google avatar

Teresita C.

Yelp
With a name like Sultan, you better have some authority and power when it comes to your food. Instead, you're the strong man at the carnival who is lifting weights made of styrofoam. I ordered the falafel and was shocked to find it totally, completely bland. How is possible to make a falafel without any flavor? Somehow, you did it. I will say that the staff are really friendly, prices are reasonable and it was made pretty fast. All it needs is some spice and a little more love. I might be inclined to give it one more go, to see if my falafel was an anomaly, and not the norm. Keep you posted.
google avatar

Jenny R.

Yelp
The good was really good and seemed very authentic. It was extremely flavorful and delicious. Would definitely come back.

Fouzia M.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best middle eastern restaurants in Seattle and I can say that wholeheartedly because I've been to numerous places. The food is always crafted to perfection and consistent. I've been coming here for close about 7 years now and I have not has one negative experience. The staff is super friendly. The Greek fries with or without gyro is one of my favorite things to get as well as the chicken or beef Arabic shawarma. The interior isn't the best but they make up for it with the food!

Debra C.

Yelp
Best food and service out of all the competing gyro shops on the Ave. The guys here are super sweet and will recognize your face if you're a loyal customer (aka complimentary Baklavas? I'm there). I do usually only go in when I have the munchies after going to a concert or Finns across the street, but honestly the food is just as good when sober, I promise. If you do venture in on a late night, expect a crowd since everyone seems to get those late night munchies. Greek Fries (large~$5): If you're going to get anything from here, get the freaking greek fries. The fries are thick (none of this flimsy, no potato in my fry bs) and fried to golden perfection, topped w their Tzatziki sauce and feta cheese. Mixed w their chili sauce and you literally have the best drunk food out there. You can't go wrong w these (unless you're lactose intolerant or something, then....sorry you're really missing out lol). Baklava (~$2): Not the biggest fan of Baklavas only because it is sweet but it's not overly sweet like a typical pastry. This is my first time having one and it's just a flaky pastry flavored w honey and sometimes chocolate. Arabic Shawarma ($6.35): My friend always gets this and I see why! It's a lot easier to eat compared to a gyro because all the ingredients are neatly wrapped in a pita. Beef is the way to go. Gyro ($5.48): Can't go wrong w a lamb gyro honestly, lamb/veggies/sauce all wrapped up in a pita bread, recipe for happiness. And they have a gyro and greek fries combo (*insert smirking emoji*). Overall, never had a bad experience when it comes to the food here. Definitely check it out for yourself (:

Yelp
Food, service, value 10/10 Get the Greek fries. It's a must and you won't regret it.

Yelp
I just started ordering from this place on UberEats, and this is BY FAR the best Middle Eastern food I've had in Seattle. 1. The kebab sandwich is so good I would eat if it had been thrown on the ground and left there for 4 days. 2. The lamb + beef salad is only $10 and big enough for 2 people. The salad had tons of cucumber, onion, and tomatoes and was COVERED in meet. The whole thing is topped with crumbled feta, olive oil, and Middle Eastern dressing. If you have a problem with this salad, you are a big dumb. 3. The falafel is moist and not dry at all, which is different from all the other Arab restaurants I've had in this city, where the falafel is dry and disgusting. Buy this food.

Jo P.

Yelp
I was yelled at by staff for telling them they charged me multiple times while they claimed my card wasn't working. It ended in me, the rest or the staff, and other customers attempting to calm her down and talk to her rationally before she was taken off of the register. I would understand this reaction if I had been hostile but I honestly thought I was rational in the situation. The woman at the register was incredible rude but the rest of the staff was nice. The actual meal was good and the fries were subpar. I would not suggest eating here

Curtis M.

Yelp
I ordered the Arabic Shawarma plate #14. The cashier was really friendly. I was surprised it was only $12 or so including a soda, fries and yogurt. The taste was delicious and the right texture. I'm glad it wasn't spicy as I thought it might be. The inside of the restaurant gave me a cultural vibe and I felt like I wasn't in Seattle and I was somewhere in the Middle East. I will be coming back. 5 Stars!

Colten S.

Yelp
Best Lamb Shawarma on the Ave hands down, their loaded Greek fries are also fire. Definitely the place to go for late night
google avatar

Devin S.

Yelp
This is by far my favorite Mediterranean place on the Ave. All of the guys who work at this place are super friendly and they'll recognize you and chat with you if you come in often enough. At least two of the guys here have my order memorized, which is awesome! The gyros themselves have good quality meat, fresh tasting vegetables, and it is a filling meal for a good price. However, the greek fries are what really make this place stand out. I originally came here to try the Greek fries because I had heard so much about them from friends at UW, and they beat my expectations even after the hype. The tastiness of the Greek fries will blow your mind, and you'll wonder why/how you have never had these before. I'm not entirely sure what all they put on the fries, but feta cheese is definitely an ingredient. All the food I have tried here is great, but if you are gonna come here and get one thing, make it the Greek fries. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Recently, my office started to order lunches from here. I have to say, not only am I a fan but I think they're a lot better than Aladdin's! Sultan has a gyro combo meal that offers your choice of a gyro, fries and a soda for about $7 and filling. I like how they stuff these gyros with meat and veggies. If you prefer to have more meat in your gyro, they do offer that for an extra price (I think it's listed as #11 on their menu). I just tried the beef shawarma plate (#14) and that is so far my favorite item at Sultan. What really makes this for me is the garlic sauce it comes with. Its also tasty with fries. If you are calling in to order take-out, don't get discouraged. There are only two people working during lunch hour so try again if they don't pick up the first time.

Yelp
The best place to eat and leave happy literally anytime. Their lamb/beef gyros are amazing and my favorite from any gyro grill I've been to! I also love their greek fries, they're so perfectly crispy. Everything including the gyros are large portions but if you want even more they have a Super Turbo option. This is my favorite place to eat on the Ave and they're always super nice and generous. Another favorite menu item they have is greek fries topped with gyro meat and sauce, it's super fun to eat with friends. They play nice music too and have beautiful decorations. Also when you order takeout it's all placed well in the box and bag so nothing falls out of the gyro when you eat it which is awesome.

Yelp
On strength of a passionate recommendation by a friend of the owner, I decided to try this joint, since my usual (Aladdin Falafel Corner, up the street) decided not to open at the usual time. I figured it was a safe bet, because gyro, kabab, and falafel joints are as plentiful as coffee and noodle shops on the Ave: the competition should make them try extra hard to top each other. Apparently, it doesn't work that way. I ordered a cauliflower sandwich for my gal, a beef Arabian shawarma for myself, and Greek fries to share. The sandwiches seemed heavy, sauce-laden, but not obviously off. The fries were ok, also soaked in mayonnaise-based sauce, and seriously anti-vampire (garlic). About an hour later, I felt sick to my stomach and went home from work, with nausea and discomfort. A few hours later, my wife suffered a similar discomfort. The commonality in our meal was the white sauce, but both sandwiched were prepared on the same cutting board surface, which I noticed had a waste bin right up against it to allow the cook to scrape scraps away easily. Not sure that's sanitary. Could have been hand washing. Who knows- but I DO know that their food does not improve in flavor when it comes back up, and that's not something I ever wanted to learn. Extra star was for prompt and polite service. But I'll not be back. I'll wait for the clean, delicious food at Aladdin next time!

Yelp
This place is awesome! The waiters are very kind and friendly. I ordered #25, and the meat portion is very satisfying. The fired rice and the source are so good! If the salad portion can be increased, that will be perfect! :) A good choice to try since it's only a 6-minute walk from ode library~
