The drinks were the highlight — unique, refreshing, and expertly made. Service was also top-notch. Ramsey took amazing care of us, and it was clear that the whole team worked together seamlessly. Everyone genuinely cared and supported one another to make sure guests had a great experience. The only downside was the music being a bit too loud to hold a conversation, but overall, it was a fantastic evening. Highly recommended for the food, the drinks, and the warm, attentive service

All of the other staff were just as friendly and welcoming—you can really tell they care about their guests. Probably the best and most authentic Turkish restaurant I experienced in USA. The food and drinks were amazing. Şaşlık was out of this world, juicy tender and cooked to perfection. Freshly baked Pide was amazing too. It's even difficult to find this quality in Türkiye.

I visited during the Miami Spice $35 menu and it was definitely worth it. The lahmacun was flavorful and crispy, an easy 8/10. The köfte was the highlight of the meal—juicy, perfectly seasoned, a solid 10/10. For dessert, the künefe was fresh and cheesy (8/10), and the Maraş dondurma was creamy and authentic, another 10/10. Overall, a great deal for Miami Spice and a perfect spot for authentic Turkish flavors.

Came in to this location on a week night to enjoy a drink before going to a event. When I came in it was not super busy but it was moving. I sat I the bar and was quickly welcomed and given a drink menu. I went with the hibiscus in Miami $14 and the add tip automatically on the bill. My drink was absolutely perfect and tasted great. The have a nice and intimate location with an outdoor patio as well. I look forward to come back for lunch or dinner as the plates I saw passing looked delicious.

Sumak is a true gem! Every detail was perfect - from the beautifully chosen utensils, plates, and cups to the warm, inviting ambiance. The service was impeccable, with staff who were attentive, polite, and exceptionally professional. Special thanks to Zafer and our lovely server, Elani, who made the experience unforgettable. The food was beyond expectations - every dish was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. My friend and I loved every moment and even recommended the place to another friend the next day! Bravo to the Sumak team for creating such a fantastic experience.

Really love this place, I have been going here since they opened. Consistently excellent food, super chill. The service is a little slow at times. The only item they can't get right is lentil soup. I love their lahmacun (Iurkish "pizza"), love Adana kebab, love iskander kebab. All appetizers are amazing and large sized . It's definitely the best Turkish retardant in miami.

They have a great Happy Hour. Our waitress was actually from Turkey so we got her to read our coffee grounds. She was actually spot on! The place had a comfortable feel to it, and everyone seemed to be enjoying their selves. The Happy Hour prices really make it possible to try different dishes. I was sad that they didn't have the kofte the night we went. The server said they take days to prepare, and they didn't have any that evening.

10 out of 10 I am coming back again. The food and service was impeccable the atmosphere was very inviting. I would recommend everyone to come here and try their delicious food for a great experience.

Went for Miami Spice dinner and it was delish! First time having Turkish food and I already cannot wait to be back. Food and service are phenomenal. It was pretty busy since we went on a Saturday night but we got seated pretty quick since we had reservations. The manager told us they also have an outdoor area that sounds like it wouls be nice to dine at when weather gets a bit cooler :)

I noticed Sumak when driving to my happy place in North Beach a few days back. It's located right on 71 Street and near a couple of other restaurants, including one named for the best NHL Goalie ever (Bob!) There's a parking lot behind it as well as nearby. The dining room is well lit and they have a good spread of tables. Service was pretty attentive, including with my dessert recommendation and the tableside service cutting the nicely sized baklava dessert. As far as savory, both the lentil soup and muhammara (with real pieces of pomegranate) were delicious. I also liked the chicken shish kabob. The marinated onions and roasted red peppers gave it a yummy boost of flavor. The soundtrack is downtempo hiphop / jazzy, which while I was there it was interrupted by 50's "It's Your Birthday" for a lively celebration at a nearby table.

What a cute neighborhood spot. I was walking by to go have sushi and ended up seeing the menu outside and decided to come here. It's new in the neighborhood. Located off 79th in Normandy Isles. Every detailed was well thought. The decor makes you feel like you are in Turkey. The cute cups and dish-ware are beautiful with details! I tried the happy hour menu at the bar. The portions were great! I had the calamari and babaganoush. The calamari was breaded lightly and had a wonderful dipping sauce that was served with it. The bread was so good and fresh! Truly authentic Turkish food. Can't wait to come back for dinner! Service was great too.

ate here a few times in the past and it was pretty good. Had it delivered today and it was awful. Small portions and both the lamb and chicken were very dry without flavor.

Ah, I feel so torn. Let's get into it. Sumak is a beautiful restaurant. Soft lighting, intricate silverware, the wooden floors-- all of it is rather pretty. I wish I got more pictures to exemplify this, but regardless, the place looked lovely. The music playing was a bit interesting-- pitched up pop music. It made me laugh a bit. Our first app was a creamy eggplant dip and it tasted amazing. This would be our favorite part of the meal, as the rest of it sort of...went a bit downhill. We ordered lamb chops and steak. It was good but in honestly, I felt the meal was very plain. The lamb chops were not particularly seasoned and neither was the steak. My lamb chops were also unfortunately overcooked. Fries were beer battered (I think, it's a guess) and tasted good. The dessert kunefe was good, and reminded me almost of a sweet arepa but unique enough to stand alone. We enjoyed it. Service was really nice, albeit felt a bit confused and lost. When our meats arrived, it didn't come with the promised sides. We eventually asked about it, and there was a lot of confusion-- we were supposed to get potatoes? It did get resolved and there was kindness all around. Really, everyone was super sweet-- it just felt a bit lost. I asked a couple of questions and the answers were somewhat vague, which maybe it was due to being busy or a language barrier. They did give us free drinks, which was sweet. Overall, I think this place had a gorgeous atmosphere and the sauces or more adventurous plates held more excitement than their meat dishes, which were a bit too plain for me personally. However, service felt a bit awkward at times and confusing. For the price, I am not sure if I would come back but I do think the staff is lovely and wish them the best!

I loved it! The mixologist behind the bar was top notch. The food was excellent & overall everyone very friendly. I'm so happy to have this great addition to our neighborhood. I wish Sumak restaurant many years of success.

Sumac is a solid 4-star, well on the way to being 5 stars. Desserts and the bread were meh, but everything else was amazing. Service, food quality, you name it. So it was odd that the desserts, while edible, weren't nearly as good as the high-bar set by the food. The bread was lacking too. And this is important when you want to dip some bread into the amazingly flavorful dip and plate that's oozing goodness. I'll be back soon...

An amazing experience! We had a friends' reunion in Miami and decided to try this place. The ambiance was stunning, the atmosphere lively, and the service exceptional. Their muhammara is an absolute must-try--so delicious--and the bread was not just fresh but probably the best I've ever had. The staff went above and beyond to make our time extra special with their genuine hospitality. Highly recommend!

Really good authentic food!!! Highly recommend coming if you are into Middle Eastern/Turkish cuisine. Fantastic experience came twice while in Miami for a few days. Will definitely come again on the next Miami trip! Loved it.

Sumak is just amazing. Food quality and taste. Turkish pizza is just do good, lamb ribs were outstanding Kenefe dessert is much better and hot cooked version of baklava type of taste. Highly recommend this place.

The backyard has a nice ambiance. It does get crowded so the service might get a bit delayed but they make it up with the taste of the food. Appetizers are pretty good and have a good selection of Raki to pair with. Mains are good and kunefe was pretty tasty. Overall great spot if you want a night out with good food and drinks

A great place to eat. Not only the food is amazing, drinks are beautiful presented. The staff is very professional, attentive and make me feel special whenever i go there. I spent the New Years there and felt i was home with family and friends. If you want to eat great food and feel comfortable, i highly recommend Sumak..

Melissa was our Server, and she was friendly, informative, engaging and kind. The Owner came out to talk to us before we left, and he was also very nice and engaging. He suggested options to try on our next visit which will be soon!

Our first encounter with Turkish cuisine at this place was a truly wonderful experience. Everything was absolutely beautiful and delicious, flavors we had never experienced before. Melissa's service was amazing. We will definitely be back to try more of their dishes.

Unlike the recent negative reviews our experience was a positive one. Then again, we arrived at 4:45pm, party of 4 but, w/o reservations. Happy Hour began at 5pm on Saturday, so we ordered 3 apps: Tzatziki, BabaGanouch and, Muhamarra (delish but not Hh) plus, 4 cocktails from their happy hour menu. They were good and abundant but a bit underwhelming. Focaccia bread and house oil is delicious. The drinks were different, we had sangrias and a margarita. Despite having a full bar and beautiful I might add, not to mention a mixologist with the latest bar gadgets, molecular tools and fancy fixings, our sangria's taste was more of Campari, cloves and dehydrated oranges i/o of the traditional sweet red wine and fresh fruit we are used to. They were kind and added grenadine to our sangria's for a hint of sweet which made it better. The margarita is not the traditional kind. We all ordered the Adana kebab which was not served kebab style but was good and tasty. The desserts were the highlight! The most awesome baklava we have ever had and the tardy Kunefe which was good as well. The service, staff, atmosphere and venue are great. Amazing amazing amazing! Even more so since I just went to Istanbul 2 weeks ago. It's been on my list since they opened, since I knew the previous owner when it was Rouge and I'm glad I finally got to check it out. We went for Happy Hour (which they have a weekend one too! M-F from 4:30-7 and Sa-S from 4:30-6:30). We got greeted by the staff and sat at the bar. Farid provided us with excellent service and cocktails. He was accommodating to making our Passion Fruit Martini with gin, and boy may I say it was dangerous delicious! So beautifully presented and perfect with the amount of passion fruit and gin. We pretty much ordered the majority of the dishes on the HH menu: lamb chops, tazaki, abaganush, fried liver (I'm Persian and I have never eaten liver in the US, but this was perfectly cooked!), chicken wings (they slide off the bone, so tender and juicy), and the branzino. Everything was presented perfectly and came in an orderly fashion. The place is super cute with an outdoor patio as well and intimate indoor. Love the bookshelf decor. All of the decor makes you feel like you are in Turkey. Next time I have to end my meal with Turkish tea! Will definitely be back. And plenty of parking in the back lot.

We stopped in for drinks but couldn't pass up trying the food-- the hummus was the best I've ever tasted, and the drinks were unique and superb. Highly recommend for a top-notch experience!

All meat dishes are excellent, well marinated and juicy. Nice balance of lamb and beef. Try saslik or iskender or the liver. Lahmacun is also well made. The desert kunefe is one of the best. Very nice ambiance and service, must try Turkish food.

The best Adana kebab I've had in a long time, really delicious . I lived in the Middle East & it felt like I was home . My only complaint is that I ordered to go and I had requested a side of Tzatziki which wasn't there . That was disappointing bc I always eat it either with that or tahini , nevertheless mistakes happen . I'll definitely order again or go there because it's super cute . My new favorite spot ... I definitely recommend it ..

We have really enjoyed the great food here. They have very special dishes that you cannot find at any other Mediterranean and Turkish restaurants in the US. Mila was our waitress and thanks to her she made our experience so wonderful!

Food is great, location is on the smaller side, but it has great character and ambience. The service here is also always friendly. They have a wide range of menu items from Turkey, really you should be able to find something you'll like here. The dips here are particularly good, and they have a full liquor bar, which is quite elegant.

Authenticity resonates at Sumak. Only savored a few dishes, all delicious and, which will force us to go back to try some of the other items in the menu. Loved the ambience and the service and though we wished we could have sat outside, the outside temp dissuaded us from attempting it. Will definitely go back.
