Sumiyaki Unafuji Tokyo Midtown Yaesu Store

One of the best unagi I’ve had. There’s the original and the white steamed ones. The appetiser cucumbers were delicious. The staff were nice and friendly, even we couldn’t speak Japanese they tried to accommodate us. There’s English menu. The staff even obliged us taking photos and handed us cute small lanterns with their restaurant name on it. Best to make reservations to avoid disappointment, else come at 1045am to Q. Don’t be surprised there might already be people in the Q already.

I had unagi kimo (liver) and unaju. Both were very good. Unagis were grilled very crispy. The 3 pieces of unagi were quite big and satisfying. Service was quite fast. The restaurant served some complementary pickles before the meal and tea after the meal which was nice.

Having recently visited this eel restaurant in Tokyo Midnight Town, located near Tokyo Station, it was a delightful experience. They offer Siro-yaki eel, which is grilled without any sauce. This allows us to fully appreciate the natural taste and flavor of the eel.

Great food and great service. Unagi texture and flavouring was just about right. I made a reservation for our family so I don’t know how long the wait would be normally. When we were there at 11:00am, about 8 people were in line.

Very nicely grilled unagi that is crispy on the outside and yet the meat is tender. You can eat it in 4 different ways in just one serving.

Had lunch and dinner multiple times at Unafuji and I had great meal every time. Unaju, Una-don, or Hitsumabushi are all good, you cannot go wrong with any of them.

Best unagi I've ever had! No queue as it is not peak hour. Everything is perfect. Make sure you sit by the window to enjoy the Tokyo station view.

Amazing Unagi, got the set with unagi and liver. The amount of Unagi we got was more than I could eat. Will definitely come back next time I am in Tokyo.
