"Think of this place as the best of analog summer camp from childhood — but with grownup amenities. The renovated property’s location overlooks the harbor in the center of Oak Bluffs. It’s the largest oceanfront hotel on Martha’s Vineyard, with 95 rooms and a whimsical, playful decor and vibe." - Travel + Leisure Editors

"Even though the term “coastal grandma” was coined by influencer Lex Nicoleta, who is based in California, we believe the aesthetic was really born in Martha’s Vineyard. You can’t walk 10-feet without bumping into a coastal granny complete with a linen dress and wide-brimmed sun hat, especially when staying at the Summercamp Hotel. A quick walk from the Oak Bluff ferry, this 70’s beach camp-inspired hotel is everything you’d expect from a seaside Martha’s Vineyard hotel. Channeling the glory days of the past, you’ll find playful decor in the lobby (including three hammock swings and bright chandeliers, a large wet-bar with coffee, tea and snacks and 86 brightly outfitted guest rooms, many offering views of the marina. Great modern hotel! Clean and amenities make the stay worth the price. Beds are comfortable and the staff is very friendly. Location is perfect to walk to nightlife in Oaks bluffs or a quiet walk through the gingerbread houses. The porch is our favorite part! Has a wonderful view of the boats. This was our fourth stay and we will be back!!

It was the perfect place for our first visit to Martha’s Vineyard. It was walkable to restaurants and shops which means no car needed. The bus system is perfect to travel to nearby towns. The room was quaint, but worked well for the two of us. Very clean! The views are beautiful and peaceful! The front porch never gets old!

My recent stay at Summercamp Hotel was absolutely amazing! The beautiful location on the harbor was breathtaking, and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Samuel and Scott went above and beyond to create a perfect itinerary for me and my partner for our 3-day stay, including some hidden gems like Great rock bight preserve. Mario and Hawanny were also fantastic in booking a Black dog sailing trip for us. We can't wait to return next year!

Summercamp is absolutely adorable and it was the perfect place for our girls trip. We loved the front porch and it was so relaxing to sit out there and enjoy the view of the harbor. The hotel has a water station with sparkling and still water free coffee and hot chocolate. They have lockers to store your luggage and two bathrooms with showers after a long travel day if your room isn't ready. The hotel was clean and staff was always willing to help. The hotel is in the perfect location. They don't have elevators so be prepared to carry your luggage if your upstairs. We will definitely be back.

Wow!! This was an amazing stay. My now fiance planned a wonderful proposal with my family on the beach. Unfortunately, it rained literally all day and the Summercamp staff (Melissa, Z and Shanique) really helped to save the day! They allowed my family and fiance to set up on their front porch area and happily recording the moment. Then they moved our room to one of the suites in celebration of our engagement. Just incredible service and accommodations!

Google
I'll start with the staff. Everyone was extremely helpful, kind, and friendly. Loved everyone I encountered at the front desk and since a lot of people have two jobs, was able to see many of them at their second locations which was super fun.||The space itself is super cute. Even on bad weather days, I'd just sit outside and work on my computer and watch the rain pass through over the water.||Beds, excellent. ||One of the best things was being able to get a bike as a part of the accommodations. I rode out to East Chop Lighthouse (also very walkable) a couple of times. Great views along the water and just nice quiet streets. Also walked around the Gingerbread Cottages several times. ||Summercamp is conveniently located near the main shopping area, food area, and a great beach.||Had an amazing time. Hope to be able to stay there again.

Google
Wonderful hotel. 5 stars for what it is. Very small rooms. Ask to store empty suitcases in the free lockers. Window ac units to be expected. Comfortable bed. Other TVs a bit loud but if you’re spending much time in your room… don’t :-) diverse staff was very welcoming.

We really enjoyed staying here. Super clean hotel, super soft sheets (wife loved them), nice and quiet, walking distance to everything. We loved coming back at the end of the day and sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch. Staff was super polite and accommodating. We'll definitely be back in the future.

Yelp
First time in the vineyard. We will always try and stay here. Really nice place with very friendly staff. Complimentary coffee, tea, and seltzer water on every floor and all day. They have large lockers to store your luggage if you arrive before your room is ready. The location is perfectly located near everything. You can walk everywhere from here. Everything is updated at this hotel and clean. It is honestly perfect. No complaints at all.

Yelp
Terrible place! Administration terrible! Supervisor of administration does not know what to do at all. I called to be entered into graduation block - I was told that I was entered into the block - then I was never called back. Bed bugs and roaches in the room. The name of the block was the Carter group. This is a bad place. DO NOT STAY at Summercamp Hotel!!!!! Grade rating -10000.

Yelp
I paid $727 per night for a queen room with harbor view. I regret to say, it was NOT worth the money. At that price, I feel I can be a bit picky: 1. The tv was old and had minimal smart capabilities. You get basic cable or YouTube. No casting, no Netflix, no Apple TV. It was not signed into the hotel's wifi when we arrived, so we had to search for the settings to log in. The staff told us the tv had Netflix capabilities, but it did not. We like to relax with a show at bedtime so this was honestly a huge letdown 2. The harbor view was two windows that looked out into the harbor. And while this was nice, one window was blocked with a (loud) air conditioner. Also, there wasn't really a way to sit and relax and enjoy the view- just one chair, so my husband and I couldn't sit together. 3. The website claims the room had both "Bluetooth radio" and "USB ports." It had neither of these. Just an old clock radio-looking thing with a clock that didn't work. 4. I called ahead of time to ask about coffee (we are big coffee drinkers) and was told they are "all over the hotel." Well really there one coffee station in the lobby and one on the fourth floor. We were on the second floor. No big deal, the coffee was good and they had real cream... but again, at $727 a night, a Keurig in my room would be appropriate. Also, if you want anything other that sugar or sweet n' low, you'll have to bring it yourself. 5. As for the bed... it really wasn't comfortable. The sheets were hot and didn't stay taught on the bed. We both woke up a lot. You might want to bring your own pillow. 6. We rented two beach chairs and an umbrella for a total of $17.00. Not a huge cost, but again... $727. The chairs were incredibly uncomfortable. Had I known, I would have brought my own. What we DID like: 1. The games were fun - we enjoyed playing cornhole and ping pong. The cornhole bags were not regulation though, and smelled like bacon. 2. The front deck is nice. 3. Great location. Walking distance to Oak Bluffs center. 4. Free bike rentals from a place down the street (they have about 6, first come-first served). 5. I liked the shampoo and conditioner. Shower was small, but good pressure. TIPS: To make up for the ridiculous cost of this hotel, you'll want to save some money in other ways. 1. bring your own breakfast and lunch. Your room has a VERY small fridge (like, won't fit a quart of milk small) but no freezer. ... that's about it. Everything else is 36289286382 million dollars.

Lara G.

Yelp
This hotel is fantastic. It is right on the water with a stunning view from the porch. In the mornings I walked across the street to the water and sit on one of the benches while I enjoyed coffee. This hotel is super close to everything but far enough away from the main street that there is some peace and quiet. The rooms are super comfortable and the staff was wonderful. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
Summercamp is a great place for a first time visit to MV. It was a great location walking distance to the fun parts of Oak Bluffs, air conditioned, & clean. The porch was my favorite area. I spent a lot of time on the rocking chairs watching the day go by. Other common areas such as the rec room (Wii and ping pong) and the indoor seating really lived up to the summer camp theme. The rooms are small which is fine because there's so much to do outside of the rooms. Like much of MV it's older so you may hear other rooms, but that seldom happened. Also you use keys instead of keycards. I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Absolutely LOVE The SummerCamp! The staff is helpful and nice and goes above and beyond to assist in every way they can. The rooms are great and you can NOT beat their fabulous waterfront location in Oak Bluffs that is close enough to walk to every thing that Oak Bluffs has to offer in town! There is no better vacation day than sitting on their expansive front porch enjoying a cocktail and overlooking the harbor and enjoying the ever changing view!

Yelp
Stay Length- Sun-Wed 9/5-9/7 Labor Day weekend 2 Queen 2nd floor Pros:Location.... Across from the water, close to shuttle, close to shops, close to popular restaurants. (5 minute walk) X-Large lockers to hold your luggage so you can explore while waiting to check in! Free! They give you a key. The porch! Perfect for relaxing in am with a coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. Complimentary water and coffee! They even have a sparkling water option. Cute little canteen/shop Comfortable beds Clean Updated bathroom Really good smelling shampoo and conditioner and it was large containers not small bottles Really cute themed decorations Cute room key! AC very strong Rooms had wine opener They had 2 wine glasses in the room and a glass container to fill with water from the canteen Comfortable beds Beach chairs/umbrellas 5$ rental beach towels are complimentary and the umbrellas for rain were free too Common area bathroom has a shower GREAT AFTER YOU CHECK OUT YOU CAN TAKE A SHOWER AFTER THE BEACH! Cons: Random but they didn't have a plastic bag for the ice bucket You can't open the windows for fresh air. The grout in the shower and bathroom floor was dirty could have used some bleach for the grout Bathroom was small Bathroom was very small and there was not a lot of space for toiletries Staff was not friendly ... would not greet you or smile. Hallways were really hot and main common areas were warm. Porch had spilt wine and vomit one night and no employees cleaned it. (They should have the employees keeping areas clean. Common area was very small. They provided robes but we're not comfortable and very thin Towels were rough Blanket was not in a duvet it just had a flat sheet on top and bottom Overall I would stay here again I would bring a cooler bc the fridge was too small. Staff was very unfriendly you felt like you were bothering them. For kids it had a great hangout area with videos games and bean bags. They offer two pet rooms but there were a lot of up charges and rules. I would not pay more than 350 off season and 500 in season. Although you are paying for location. Overall it was clean and bright and modern. I would stay here again but for the location.

Yelp
PROS: - Great location - easy walk to where the action is, ferries, restaurants, shopping. - "Rustic Bohemian" style vibe. - Great front porch to sit and pass the time, enjoy coffee, conversation. - Clean but small rooms. - Lockers and showers near lobby if staying past 11AM checkout. - CONS: - Very small bathroom with boat cabin size sink, no counter space and no ventilation. - Rooms are not well insulated against noise from above, next door, etc. - There are no elevators and some stairs are extra steep. - Queen size room may not actually have queen-sized beds. More like two double beds. (Pillows were great, bed - not so much). - Old-fashioned room keys. Keeps with the hotel's theme and vintage vibe, but remember to manually press the lock and close the door. Neither functions are automatic. - Super cramped parking spaces and limited parking behind hotel. TIP - unload before parking. There's barely enough door space to get in/out of the car. If you're there for fun and sun and spend little time in your room, this is a great space. If you're honeymooning or want a super-comfy chill space, probably best to keep looking. It was perfect weather during our stay and we used the room for sleeping. I couldn't imagine spending more than a few hours confined to our room during inclement weather. Even more dreadful to think about having to do so in confined quarters with a couple of young kids.

Yelp
We absolutely LOVED our stay at Summercamp in Oaksbluff. I booked it based on their Instagram - I mean, the kitschy cute interior totally got me. I was thrilled when I realized it was a short walk away from the byline ferry dock. Perfect! Upon our arrival, a lovely gentleman cheerfully checked us in and shared some recommendations of what to do and where to go. They even surprised us with a bottle of Champagne for our honeymoon!!! The rooms are cozy, clean, and have GREAT A/C. We loved the location of the hotel - close to the ferry, gingerbread village, and circuit ave. Thanks again for a fabulous stay!

Todd K.

Yelp
Just got back from 4 days. Very nice staff and very thoughtful for shipping something we left there back to us. Three big problems 1. For allowing dogs - property is not dog friendly and they don't allow inside besides the room 2. They advertise they provide dog bowls / bed , was expecting it waiting in the room but had to ask for it 3 Our room also had a door facing outside -- unfortunately lots of bugs by nature get into bedroom

Yelp
Located in Oak Bluffs, it's hard not to miss the Summercamp Hotel. Summercamp is one of the last historic Victorian hotels on the island, associated with the Martha's Vineyard Camp Meeting Association. You can see it's brightly colored doors as you make your way through Oak Bluffs. From the minute you step onto the porch, you can see you're going to enjoy your stay. You can take calming views of the Oak Bluffs Harbor while sipping your coffee in the early morning, take a walk through the Gingerbread Houses, and grab a bite at one of the wonderful restaurants on Circuit Ave. This is a prime location if you are exploring Oak Bluffs! They also provide a map, itineraries for what you're looking for, and spots they recommend when you check-in. Since Summercamp was built in the 1800's... the walls are paper thin, the rooms are small, and the rooms aren't built like the newer hotels (ie: the outside of our window trim was broken and shuttered the entire trip as they wind blew). Sadly, you aren't paying what you should be getting. Instead, you are paying for the BRAND that is Martha's Vineyard.

Yelp
I visited Summercamp in May with a friend and we were absolutely blown away! The property itself is stunning with bright, fun decor and a breathtaking view and porch that overlooks the water . The hotel has a "canteen" with complimentary tea, coffee and sparkling water which we absolutely loved. The staff was the absolute highlight of the stay. The women working at the desk were attentive and friendly. The manager Mary Lou went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable! She gave us incredibly helpful recommendations and continually checked on us during our stay. We had a phenomenal time and will definitely be back!

Ashley C.

Yelp
I have stayed at summercamp on two different occasions now and both times were just lovely!!! From the moment you arrive you're in awe. Great location, beautiful harbor view, the lobby aesthetic is too cute and perfect for a photo op. The staff is very friendly and available. Shout out to Mary Lou the GM for running a great spot. We love this place so much we purchased merch.

Karen R.

Yelp
Summer camp was outstanding. Rooms were supper clean. The hotel staff were very concerned about mask wearing in all public places, but nicely. When I discovered I left my phone in the lobby, Victoria was able to get it on the next ferry. Best service ever! btw... steamship authority crew and shuttle bus driver were also very helpful! Thanks to all for a great visit to the vineyard!

Sara S.

Yelp
I could spend the entire summer here. Such a fun, bright, and cheery hotel with wonderful amenities. Formerly the Wesley but recently renovated to this new whimsical but still charming historic hotel. The rooms were immaculate and subtly luxurious - clean walls, crisp white linens and cool comforter, fluffy pillows, plush white towels, and furnished with a modern beach resort style. There are refreshing shampoo and conditioner pumps in the shower, soaps, lotion, make up remover, and black wash cloths that remind you you're staying at a five star hotel. Hair dryer, iron and board, mini fridge, ice bucket are provided. We loved our room, but we spent most of our time in the lobby, game room, or lounging in their rockers or hanging chairs. There's complimentary coffee and tea for residents, beach towels to borrow, and a small snack bar with a fun selection of bulk candy. You can walk to all the great restaurants, shops, beach, gingerbread cottages, the oldest carousel in the country, and watch the sunset across the water from the porch. This is definitely one of my favorite hotels.

Simplelife S.

Yelp
This place just opened back up after a major remodel. Cute place. Friendly staff. Sits in the middle of oaks bluff. In walking distance of most things.most rooms have a beautiful view of the harbor. Please note walls and window are NOT sound proof, but this did not effect our stay. The bed was very comfy. Large king size. You have the ability to control al the temperature in your room. Wi-Fi was dependable.

M O.

Yelp
What an excellent place to stay in Oak Bluffs. It was so great to be close to everything, yet have peace and quiet at the same time. I'm not sure how, but our room seemed sound proof. Lots of great amenities and so close to the water and beauty of the island. The staff was very attentive and friendly, especially Sandy at the front desk. She made sure we had everything we needed. The decor is fun, tasteful and creative. Everything was very clean.

Julie L.

Yelp
If you are looking to be close to the Ferry and close to the activity on Oak Bluff this is the place to be. It's pricey but you pay for the convenience. Room was small but the bed is super comfy. Staff very nice. The bathroom could use some updating the tile in rough shape. The room wasn't very dark we tend to like it dark. But a personal preference. The porch is wonderful to sit and relax it's right across from the water! Was a nice weekend.

Joe N.

Yelp
First of all, what a Stark contrast to the hotel situation in New Hampshire. Our family was planning a getaway over Columbus Day weekend. At first we thought we had reservations at the Lodge in Lincoln, to our surprise they canceled the reservation, and sent and sent an email doing so. When I called for an explanation, I was blamed, and the service was appalling. Enter summer camp. My wife and I have always enjoyed going to Oak Bluffs, and we still really want to get away for Columbus Day weekend. We took a look at some reviews as everybody should when it comes to booking hotel or anything for that matter. We booked a room for one night, for us plus our children. We dealt primarily with Scott, who I must say, is one of the most kindest, professional and wonderful person in the industry. He took care of every need, thought outside the box, gave great recommendations, and because of his professionalism and passion for real customer service, we will most definitely go back! Great Job Scott, and great glasses too!!! For example on the first night, after dinner, Scott let us into a family playroom that was previously locked. We enjoyed playing ping-pong, and the kids got to run around a little, which was a nice touch. The next day after shopping around a bit when we returned back to the hotel to gather our stuff, and surprise my son, with an awesome stuffed animal. Also, because it was our birthdays, the hotel provided goodies and complimentary champagne. They made us feel like the Royal family!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!! The room was awesome, the bed comfortable, location epic!!!! Can't wait to return!!!! Extra shots to Scott!!!!

Doug D.

Yelp
Hip vibe, great location, and comfortable accommodations. We really enjoyed our stay at Summercamp. It's got that kitschy, hip, modern feel, but with a nod to the history of the place. The rooms aren't huge, and there is a window AC unit running, but you can't beat the location, cleanliness, and comfort. There is a huge front porch where people congregate and watch the active harbor across the street. Very nice stay!

Xuan X.

Yelp
Extremely small room!!! We had a queen size room and bed is definitely just full size. The whole room plus the bathroom is TINY and I feel so restricted there and can't wait to get out of it. The only benefit is parking space if that's what you're looking for. I would NOT recommend it to anyone or come back again

Mike S.

Yelp
They have done a decent job of renovating the hotel, but unfortunately it is very, very loud and poorly constructed. The walls are very thin and this prevents you from getting a good night sleep. The walls are so thin, you can hear your neighbors talking and snoring through the walls. Every move, every shower, every flush can be heard clear as day. This kept me up every night. I did like the water and coffee bar. That's a nice touch. The hotel is walkable to everything in Oak Bluffs which is great, and the front porch is nice to hang out on. For an average of $500 a night, I do expect a good night sleep in a larger room. Additionally, my lamp shade and ceiling were covered in mold. Again, for the price, that is unacceptable.

Gabrielle C.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed for a week (the week before Memorial Day weekend. Our room was great, we stayed in the Water View Queen. The room was a good size for two people. The shower was on the smaller size, but other than that everything was as pictured and very clean. The Canteen has free coffee, tea, water, and hot chocolate all day. The front porch is great to enjoy wine and a good book. I would 100% recommend this location if you are looking to enjoy the island. You are walking distance to restaurants, beaches, and shops. The front desk gave us a map and the staff were knowledgeable of the area and gave great suggestions!

LeAnn L.

Yelp
I hate writing long, unpleasant reviews but here goes... Came to MV to celebrate my anniversary and my boyfriend and I were super excited to stay here because of all the great reviews, we stayed 2 nights mid-week, and booked a queen room with partial ocean view. When we got to our room, on the ground level, I noticed a 2-3 inch open gap between the top of the door and the molding. It was very strange and made me feel unsafe and uncomfortable. Our partial ocean view was partial because our view was actually of the emergency stairs that came down to the first floor. Why would I pay extra for a partial ocean view to only be staring at a huge stairway instead? I guess partial ocean view meant partial sky, road, and grass view as well. I asked the front desk if we could switch rooms because of these two reasons and they said they would check to see if another room is available, but in the meantime, they would fix the door. We left for lunch and came back a couple hours later and they did indeed fix the door by gluing and repainting another piece of wood to attach to the door. I was actually surprised by how well the fixed it. We were then told we could not move to any other room without paying an extra fee. Our sleep was unpleasant to say the least as there were flood lights directly outside our window that shone through the shades all evening. The AC is at head-level when laying down in bed so be prepared for air blowing directly on your face all night if you turn it on. If you're on the ground level there's lots of traffic noise throughout all hours of the evening, as well. As someone who recently moved away from NYC to get away from all the lights and sounds, I was looking forward to a quiet, (and dark,) getaway which I did not receive. I was super disappointed I chose to spend extra money on an ocean view that was anything but. The only positive was the free bicycle rentals which we took advantage of, and had lots of fun. For the price you pay to stay here, and they don't even offer food options (only snacks for purchase during specific hours), I would stay elsewhere next time I visit MV.

Tuli S.

Yelp
We stopped here because there aren't any showers by the beach! It's 10 to shower and 7 for a locker if you need it. They provide soap, shampoo and a towel. Super convenient and the hotel is adorable. I really liked how it was decorated! Also as a side note I accidentally left my wallet in the lobby and service couldn't have been better :). I would definitely consider staying here on a future visit.

Mary R.

Yelp
Stayed at Summercamp for the Fourth of July and honestly the most adorable hotel I've ever stayed at! I booked very last minute and was thrilled that Summercamp had a room available for the holiday without completely breaking the bank. From the bedroom, bathroom, lobby, and grounds, everything was clean and beautiful. Beds were amazing and the shower has awesome wash and shampoo built in (not typical hotel cheap stuff)! I am already looking into booking a longer stay next month! Only complaint at all was that when we got off the ferry at noon we went to the hotel to see if we could leave our belongings while we went to the beach and waited for the 3 p.m. check in. We were told yes-- but only if we rented a $7 locker behind the main lobby area. We did, but I felt as though charging a fee was kind of petty when we were paying nearly $400/night already. Nevertheless, totally deserves the 5 stars! Would recommend staying here to anyone!

Terränce C.

Yelp
Excellent service,, it has a small boutique home feel, but it is grand. The staff is great, friendly with an attentive to detail. Very clean.

Zafir L.

Yelp
There aren't enough words to describe how amazing this place is! The accommodation, location, amenities, everything was absolutely perfect!! We cannot wait to go back again. Thank you so much for our wonderful stay!!

Scott U.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. New favorite spot to stay. Waterfront view, coffee and hot cocoa 24/7, hang w a beer on the huge porch in comfy sofas or rocking chairs. Everything really looks like the photos. Highly recommend the main building. The secondary, neighboring building has a very slight scent of must covered up with perfumes.

Samruddhi P.

Yelp
Cons: The rooms are a little bit smaller than expected.. Pros: Everything else..! the location.. the ambiance.. the staff.. they deliver on everything as promised.. highly recommend!

Robert R.

Yelp
We spent 3 days and 2 nights at summer camp and it was perfect. Our room had a partial water view and a private deck with a cute little lounge area. The hotel and our room were both decorated with whimsical odes to childhood summer camp activities. It is a little on the expensive side, and there's no free continental breakfast (which there should be at this price point), but if you can splurge - do it.

Devin B.

Yelp
Booked a last minute vacation here and was very happy with my stay. The rooms were really small, but I guess that's kind of par for the course in Martha's Vineyard. The hotel was pretty clean and from what I understand was recently updated. The staff was also very friendly and some of the perks include free parking and free coffee and water in the lobby. The camp theme is kind of cheesy, however being in a prime location close to some great restaurants and shopping make it bearable. My favorite part of the hotel might have been the beds. The mattress, pillows, and sheets are some of the most comfortable I've ever slept on. Overall I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Heather B.

Yelp
4.5 stars. Great location, close to restaurants and walking distance from ferry. Free bike rental was great (only available on first come, first serve basis but we are early risers so wasn't a problem for us). Bed was super comfortable (on the soft side). Room is small but fine for 2 people. TV didn't work great which wasn't a huge deal since we weren't in the room all that much. No pool or gym. Did have complementary coffee and tea available 24 hours. Would definitely stay again.

Jojous M.

Yelp
For what we're paying it's a rip off. To start they say free parking but it's a tiny lot and not guaranteed. Parking is sparse everywhere here. Staff is unfriendly and don't really speak English. The room was very small and the the door was thin with no seals, we could hear everything. Maid service is suspect. We found food in our fridge and the in shower shampoo/conditioner was basically empty. We were out all morning and came back about 2 for a quick break. This is when room service decided to come by. The place is not that big for late maid service, 11am checkout for . On the plus side it's a great location and the porch is great to hang out. Your response is terrible I feel worse now than if you had just ignored it.

Josh H.

Yelp
BEWARE of their cancelation policy or rescheduling policy. You need to do it 21 days in advance or be assessed a stiff penalty. They do not operate like the other hotels you may have used in the past. They don't care if you are calling 3 days in advance (76 hours before check in I called) from a pediatric Intensive Care Unit. I paid for a 2 day stay. I ended up with a 1 day stay and a balance due of less than $2. So if you have a family, I would avoid booking here. You never know what could happen. Find a place that respects families who try to get their loved ones proper medical care. Their policy is black and white. Even when offering to send proof of a hospital stay in the ICU they will not bend their policy.

Yelp
We absolutely loved Summercamp. Location, amenities, convenience and property were superfab. Would def return here (though next time on Vineyard, may want to stay in Edgartown just for a different vantage point). Loved the fairy tale neighborhood behind the hotel, harbor view, comfortable porch /various seating areas and endless coffee supply among other things. Yes, our room was a small box, but a clean little jewel box nonetheless, lol. I knew when booking it was teeny and chose that level so was prepared for it. Only criticism was loud AC unit which could be upgraded but not a deal breaker. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Great interior design, good wifi, very soft sheets, helpful staff. A nice feature is that they have large lockers. You can also borrow beach towels so you don't have to use your own. Try the apple fritter for breakfast!

Yelp
The former Wesley, this renovated masterpiece opened on May 19th, 2016. It's really amazing how they've updated the place over the winter. The rooms are new and improved; updated shower facilities, flat screen tv's, USB docks, plush king-sized beds, etc., make this in my opinion, the best hotel option on the island. Only about 200 yards from the ferry dock, you can easily walk your luggage right off of the ferry. The staff is wicked nice and accommodating. We had a few special requests that were granted with no huff; acquiring a late check out, and getting a few extra blankets. You can also rent a locker for $7 all day after you check out, in case you have a late ferry. My wife and I were really hot under the comforter, and the room offered no blankets as an alternative. The front desk was more than happy to help us get comfortable. Also, the A/C in the room was awesome, quite effective. The bed may be the most comfortable bed I've slept in, in a long time. They have 20 parking spaces, first come first serve. But if you can't find a spot, street parking is easy and abundant 24/7. The front porch is phenomenal for relaxing and people watching. Right behind the hotel is Gingerbread Village, one of the most unique and intriguing neighborhoods in the whole world. Cut through there on your way to Circuit Ave to get lunch and shop for goodies. I can't wait to go back here next summer! Thanks to all of the awesome ladies at the front desk for meeting all of our requests!

Yelp
This is a charming hotel with a great location near the ferry dock--you can easily walk to/from ferry. There is plenty of rockers on the porch so you can enjoy the veiw of the water/marina. Shops, food, bike rentals, etc. Are just a short walk away. The hotel was clean and quaint, but the rooms are extremely small.

Yelp
As a traveler who visits MV often, my family and I were excited about the new ownership and renovations to the Wesley Hotel. Sadly, our experience at the seemingly family friendly Hotel in Oak Bluffs was a very negative one even prior to our checking in. Trying to make a reservation on the website was frustrating as it was experiencing technical issues and/or overloaded with guests trying to book. I called the hotel directly to confirm the room style we wanted was available so I could make sure I booked our desired room properly online and also to confirm that a crib would be available for our child. A few days before I emailed the hotel to confirm but got no response. The day we checked in, the hotel was chaotic, but the woman at the front desk was friendly and assured us our room was ready with a crib already set up. After check in, no one was around to help with our luggage or accurately tell us where our room was, so we went up and down many different scattered sets of staircases ultimately to find our room was literally below the main ground level (like where a hotel might put their dog friendly rooms or low priced rooms) without proper signage on the walls indicating the room numbers. We got to our room which was incredibly small (but tastefully decorated), not the type we thought we booked and without a crib. We eventually found a friendly lady who said she would find us a crib which took a while because then they had to find a sheet for it. During this time we found out our room had many black flies in it. We spent a lot of time trying to get them out and alerted the women who brought us the crib/sheet, though nothing was done about it. Upon inspection of the room we realized that the room was absolutely not what we had thought we reserved online nor did it have the promised welcome treat for being a Lark Club Member (nor were we offered a potential room upgrade during check in), an informational iPad, USB charging outlets or a working smart TV. I went to the front desk and explained my situation to the General Manager, Tania. She kept interrupting me and ignoring the issues I was trying to explain though. She showed me her laptop rudely saying we did not pay for the room we thought, but that she would upgrade us if we wanted. I tried explaining to her that I didn't understand why she was describing this as an upgrade since we were under the impression we had already reserved this particular room. She continued to argue with me saying those rooms were $20 more than we paid. I asked her why the women over the phone explained the room situation to me the way she did and why no one responded to my email. Her only response was she didn't know (after she clearly checked her records to be sure I did in fact call and write an email), but said at the time we booked, only a standard room was available. Ironically she said she would "upgrade" us and would let us know when it was available. I was even further insulted and confused because she had stated before that no other higher grade rooms were available when we booked. When I mentioned I was a Lark Member she said it wasn't on my reservation and only seemed to believe me when I showed her my membership email on my phone. Obviously they don't offer any of the promised perks for being a Lark Member. Lastly, I asked if an informational iPad was available in our new room and she said she didn't have any left and then aggressively gave me an informational brochure rudely muttering that nothing was going well for us. At this point I was ready to leave the hotel all together altogether. I have never been so rudely talked down too. Over an hour after this discussion our room was finally available. We were absolutely shocked to find that it was the room next door to the current room were we in and not the room we expected. At that point, we were feeling completely exhausted over this situation and kept the room. The hotel website is very misleading in claiming certain amenities would be available for all rooms and in working order which we found was absolutely not the case (ex. informational iPads, Smart TV, USB charging outlets and etc.). Also, it seemed evident per the website that this hotel is family friendly since it supposedly provides cots and cribs for children. But, it was obvious that families who check in are put in the basement part of the hotel away from the regular rooms and are not valued guests. The hotel had many opportunities to make these issues right, but they failed. The hotel and staff were clearly not ready for the grand opening season and had way too many issues not yet worked out. The price for rooms at this hotel are expensive and I found it unreal that we had so many issues and were treated so poorly by the general manager. This experience ruined our weekend and we feel completely ripped off. BEWARE TO OTHERS!

Yelp
Wow! Very impressed! Our family planned a stay and family reunion at Summer Camp, however unfortunately our daughter came down with the flu and we were unable to attend. We contacted the hotel to see if they could help arrange some gifts for our family to enjoy for the weekend, and they went above and beyond, specifically Darko Milev who is in charge of Guest Services. Darko went as far as to send me the photos of the gifts he had arranged for our family as well as notes from us to greet our family upon their arrival. My family was blown away when they arrived at Summercamp. We are so grateful.

Yelp
Great location - the girls at the front desk were really nice and helpful. My only issue was the room was so tiny. They're not cheap rooms either so for me if I had known I would of stayed elsewhere. We enjoyed sitting out on the porch in the rocking chairs looking out at the harbour - so therapeutic. It's a fantastic location and you can walk to all the restaurants and shops.

Yelp
Awesome service! Loved the way the lobby and the canteen were spacious, inviting and stylish. Location was great! Close to everything you could want to see or do.

Yelp
The location was great, room was a little small but that's what it is, an older hotel fully redone. It was a fun time and it was clean. Bikes and beach chairs available and staff was very polite and nice. Will be back

Yelp
This grande dame of a hotel is perched right on the harbor in Oak Bluffs, and looks like something from the Instagram account AccidentallyWesAnderson. Summercamp is a renovated historic Victorian hotel, from the era of the large seaside resorts. Amazing location, first off all - right in town, and also right next to the adorable Camp Meeting Association cottages. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and the hotel had taken lots of measures to keep things clean and safe for guests. For example, they had placed hand sanitizer in our rooms for us to use and keep. We were asked to leave any trash outside of our room to be collected, and request fresh towels if necessary. Not a big deal, and understandable. Summercamp also loans out freshly-washed beach towels for the day. My one critique is that the hotel can be noisy. The walls are thin, and there were plenty of children staying - so we heard our share of crying and thumping. However, with the AC unit on, it didn't impact our sleep. The queen rooms are also pretty small, but we had a partial water view of the harbor - and let's be real, you aren't coming to the Vineyard to be inside! The massive front porch and rec rooms also were big perks. Grab a cup of coffee from Mocha Motts, a big chair, and enjoy the view! Overall, Summercamp is a great place to stay on the Vineyard.

Yelp
Just got back from MV and stayed at Summercamp. We loved loved loved this hotel. Super clean, trendy, impeccable design and all around fun! We booked the week of the 4th of July on a last minute decision to go to MV and the hotel not only had an opening but a room on the waterfront and our own little patio off the back of the room. It was so lovely, so clean. One of the most comfortable beds my husband and I have ever slept in. The staff was so nice. Especially the front desk guy, Will. Super informative and great attitude. Felt so welcomed. Oh and an added bonus, the hotel is literally a 5 minute walk from the Oaks Bluff ferry. So convenient. And the ever popular gingerbread houses are right behind the hotel. You don't even have to rent a bike! We will definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Great location in Oak Bluffs. The hotel is very fresh, colourful and clean. Sound proofing in room was tested by what sounded like a toddler bouncing around the room above from 7am but they're on holiday too! Very handy for restaurants, shopping, ferry, buses and bike rental. Harbour view King room was very comfortable. Maid service was prompt each morning. So prompt we could've done with a do not disturb sign for the door which the room didn't have. The cleaners were polite and apologetic when the time didn't suit, and always returned later. Plenty of fresh towels. All staff we encountered were approachable, friendly and helpful. Not giving five stars because there's always something to improve on. Four and a half if I could.

Yelp
The Summercamp is a beautiful building in a great location. The renovation is very nice, everything is bright and clean. The porch looks out onto the harbor and everything in Oak Bluffs is walkable. The downside to this old building is that rooms are small and relatively noisy. The pullout couch bed was terrible. I could feel metal pieces when just touching it; made for a tough place to sleep. The AC was also freezing and the room always felt like a refrigerator. Housekeeping could give more attention to detail like refilling the shampoo/conditioner and providing toilet paper when it is out. The coffee and tea station is great to have, however the room advertised that the canteen sells parfaits and they were sold out the entire time we were there (they should probably just get rid of the parfait advertisement in the room). Overall great location and a good deal based on what is available on the Vineyard.

Yelp
The hotel is walking distance to the Oaks Bluff terminal, major eateries, pubs, and ocean! The location can't be beat. The hotel is renovated, and doesn't have an elevator. The rooms are small, and the bathroom is tiny with no tub. The ocean provided a nice breeze and there was a window airconditoner that worked perfectly. It is a family friendly hotel, so there was a lot of noise at night, esp with kids. I noticed the noise, but my two travelmates didn't. There was complimentary coffee provided throughout the day on each floor, which was convenient in the morning. Enjoyed staying at this clean and affordable hotel. Would definitely stay again.

Yelp
Really cute hotel with a wonderful accommodating staff especially Tania the manager. My girlfriend and went over to Martha's Vineyard for a girls trip and this hotel made our stay so much fun. Its very conveniently located in Oak Bluff right across from the harbor docks. We went off season so the ferry only came into Vineyard haven but the Bus number 13 took us right outside the hotel. They offer free coffee and tea on the premises. There are two bldgs to the hotel so you do have to walk from one bldg to another to the lobby unless your lucky to find a room in the bldg with the lobby. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. The wifi was pretty decent and the cleaning crew polite and prompt. I ended up leaving my cardigan in the room and they mailed it to me promptly which I thought was super nice. The beautiful porch outside the main lobby bldg is the perfect place to perch yourself and watch the boats come in. The grocery store, boutiques and really yummy restaurants are all within walking distance as is the bus stop to travel to the other towns. The staff is happy to give you maps and tons of suggestions all of which were good. We were upgraded to the king suite by Tania and the staff did everything to make our stay comfortable. The hotel is right next to the campground where you can see the ginger bread houses. I would definitely go back and stay at this hotel we have a wonderful time.
