Gotta love an old fashioned diner. Like a time machine it transports you back to the good ole days. The decor alone...
Looks like everybody knows everybody in here. But don't feel left out, as a total stranger passing through and sitting at the counter by myself, staff and customers made an effort to include me. Thank you for that.
Reading the 'bad' reviews, seems like the expectations of other were much higher. Well, it's a diner, you're not going to get fine dining treatment here.
Yes they ask you to wait outside the door, but it is indoors like a lobby. When they have a spot for you, they will seat you, or at least tell you where to go. To those that gripe that there were empty seats, well we are in the age of social distancing and also staffing shortages... just saying.
But let's get to the awesome part: The food... I was hungry and ordered a big breakfast... Oh dear... other customers were laughing at my face when I ended up with several huge plates in front of me. Enough to feed a family, hot and delicious. Yeah I ended up taking half of it with me.
Endless coffee is always nice too an I tend to take full advantage of it.
There was even a pie case. Pies piled high and looking delicious. Unfortunately I had eaten too much already and didn't feel like carrying around a pie. Next time I come through here, I will have a pie first.
