Tender prime rib and lamb chops!!! Karen helped us out tonight and she was lovely!!!!!!! Thank you very much Karen! Scallops are a must & dip it with the fresh warm bread. Love how the prime rib comes with creamed corn and spinach - don’t have to pick between the 2! And it comes with a big dollop of horseradish yum! My second time here and will be definitely coming back for more!

We had try the Summit House Restaurant. We heard great things about this place and had to go there. We had some scallops, steak dishes and desert. The food was amazing and savored every bite. I can not wait to go back there again.

Google
Great food, great ambiance, and stellar customer service. They are known for the Roast Prime Ribs, but honestly… everything is great. I usually get the Summit House cut and it never disappoints. They serve it with cream of corn and it’s delicious. We tend to start dinner with a salad, followed by scallops as appetizers and then the main dishes. Customer service never lets down. The views are spectacular by the way. Try to sit by the windows for a spectacular view of the City.

We’ve been here a few times and we’re happy to report that the food and the service are top notch and very consistent. The restaurant itself is well maintained and cozy. Perfect for any date night or gathering. We always bring a nice bottle or two to go with the amazing food.

We celebrated our mom's 50th Birthday in the Tavern Patio (private & intimate) and it was AMAZING — From touring the restaurant & booking, to the day of the dinner celebration. I want to thank Yesenia for her great communication and professionalism as the Private Party Specialist. I also want to thank Shannon, Linda, Andres, and Mario for taking care of our family & friends during the dinner service and going above and beyond making sure everyone had a good time. 🩷 We look forward to another enjoyable evening at the Summit!

Google
I was really impressed with this place. We sat outside, and the view was absolutely great, such a perfect backdrop for a relaxing evening. I was really surprised with their signature cocktails they were delicious. Service was exactly what you’d expect from a place of this caliber, professional and attentive with no complaints at all. What really surprised me was how fast the food came out after we ordered. It was almost immediate, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Well definitely be coming back.

Located high above with a sweeping view of Fullerton, this restaurant immediately sets a special mood the moment you arrive. The meat we had wasn’t overpowering, but rather had a gentle, memorable flavor that lingered pleasantly. The cream corn and warm bread served alongside were especially impressive—fresh, comforting, and absolutely delicious. We ordered the cheese and meat assortment, and that dish alone made us feel like we definitely need to come back again. It was that good. What truly completed the experience was the live piano performance. The pianist was wonderful, and the five ladies sitting up front seemed to be true fans—they didn’t leave their seats and watched the performance the entire time. It was a joy to witness. It was such a beautiful way to celebrate and remember the end of the year, and overall, it was a truly special and memorable experience.

Yelp
* This review is for my experience regarding a phone call I received from Christina. Tuesday January 13/2026 @ 3:04 PM. Christina 10/10! Warmth 10/10! Professional 10/10! Delightful young lady 10/10. I highly recommend speaking with Christina regarding dinning reservations. 10/10! I asked The Summit House to call me if they have a cancellation on February 14th. My phone rang on this gorgeous sunny Tuesday afternoon and I saw that it was the Summit House. Christina was on the other line. WOW I was so excited to hear they had a cancellation on Valentine's Day. Yes please we would be honored to accept this reservation. We are so excited and to have Christina take time out her busy day to notify us that they have a cancellation is absolutely amazing. Christina cares about The Summit house and their guests. We feel so blessed to receive a phone call from Christina. We thank you so so very much for calling us. My husband and I cannot sing The Summit House praises enough.! Every staff member we have had the pleasure of working with has been absolutely fantastic in every-way. * To the party who counseled; I am so sorry you needed to council. Please when you can try and visit the Summit house you will be delighted you did.! Wednesday they have a prime-rib Special which is wonderful too. I highly recommend this fine dining restaurant for any special occasion. And you will never feel rushed here. * You will want to get dressed up to dine at this 5 Star restaurant. Yelp
Still the perfect place for a classic, celebratory meal. We had reservations and were seated after a few minutes wait. As much as I would've loved seating against the windows, we were still fairly close to get a view of the city lights while dining. They just started offering prime rib Wednesday after the holidays, which is a great deal. We ordered escargot, crab cakes, brussels sprouts, truffle fries, prime rib, and black cod (special). All were fantastic but maybe too much for two. We left with more than half our order to take home and thats with receiving a smaller cut of prime rib although we ordered the cottage cut. Veronica was our server and she was great but got busy when a larger group came in. Overall, still a wonderful dinner experience and still highly recommended especially at the price point.

Yelp
ALWAYS a pleasure coming here (ESPECIALLY during Christmas time, but the views are always great- unsure if you can see Disneyland fireworks from here?) Pro tip: ask for fresh horseradish (I LOVE spicy). I went with a party of 6 and it was so nice getting to try different things. I had a sea bass and most had the prime Rib, but my fiancé got the filet and loved it. The escargot is soooo buttery and comes out sizzling. Julian, our server -HE WAS AWESOME- recommended the trifle for dessert, so of course we were game. Yes, valet is offered, but I'm not sure how much it is, because we were able to find parking easily #WINNING

Yelp
Summit House is like Lawry's on steroids with a view--elevated, scenic, and every bit as indulgent. The only downside? Parking. It's quite a challenge, and honestly, a bit of a mission. But once you finally make it inside and get seated, you realize instantly: it's worth every stressful turn in the lot. The prime rib here is exceptional--beautifully roasted, tender, and rich with that signature jus that soaks right into the meat. But the real star for me was the ribeye. Perfectly marbled, incredibly juicy, and seared with that deep, savory crust that only comes from a properly hot grill. Each bite was buttery, flavorful, and full of that classic ribeye richness without being overly fatty. It's the kind of steak that reminds you why ribeye is king. Their wine list is extensive and thoughtfully curated, with options that pair effortlessly with heavier cuts of beef. Add in the warm, polished service--attentive without hovering--and the cozy, classic ambiance, and you've got a dinner experience that feels special from start to finish. Great food, great service, stunning atmosphere. Despite the parking battle, Summit House delivers a top-tier steakhouse experience that's absolutely worth the effort.

Yelp
If you love prime rib, you will know two main places in the Southern California area: Lawrys and Summit House. Summit House is literally like a lawrys, but some (including myself) may even say it is better or a very close competitor. Alongside some of the shareables, the primary distinction I've noticed between the two places, is that Lawrys has their prime rib in a serving cart, carved table side. This doesn't always means it's the best. Summit house has theirs in the kitchen, and is brought to you. I prefer Summit House because when you have the Prime Rib sitting in the cart and open air is exposed, the prime rib cools down very quick and you are almost served a cold prime rib. At summit house, it is hot (at least mine was)! The horseraddish sauce, sides, all spectacular. The prime rib excellent. Service is top tier, incredibly professional and friendly waiters. We started off the night with some lovely cocktails: G&G, chai espresso martini, margarita, which were all delicious. For the main entrees drinks, we brought a couple of beautiful wines from home. Corkage ($35) is expected, but what was odd is they capped you at a limit of bottles you could bring. You could only bring two (2) bottles of wine for the whole night! Appetizers: Escargot ($19) - very delicious, 8/10 Seaside Sampler ($64) - two plates of crabcakes, prawns, ahi sashimi, 7/10 Lobster Bisque Soup ($15) - delicious, 9/10 Main entrees: Summit House Cut ($68) - comes with corn, creamed spinach, Yorkshire popover, 10/10 Sides: Truffle fries ($12) - huge portion, VERY good and addicting, 10/10 We were STUFFED at the end of the night, and honestly it was so difficult to finish everything. Though we did have a lot of food and drinks to fill the stomach. What a splendid night. They also offer a complimentary birthday dessert! What was really neat was the staff signed a birthday card, which is really cute. Would I come back? Absolutely. 100% I'll be back soon! Can't wait as I write this review. Parking is readily available in their lot.

Yelp
I wanted to take my boyfriend to somewhere special for his birthday and he picked Summit House. It was definitely beautiful with the Christmas decorations and a wonderful touch with carolers greeting the guest as we walked in and waited. We were seated outdoors that overlook the city views. It was not too cold because they had heaters above us, and it was actually really nice outside with the fresh air and less noise. We were quickly created by our wonderful server, Linda. She was really warm and ran through the menu with us. We started with a Diet Coke and Smoke & Honey cocktail for the birthday boy. We ordered: - Crab Cakes - 2 Castle Cut Prime Rib - Mac & Cheese with bone marrow - Truffle Fries I have to say, I usually don't like crab cake in most places, but I'm really glad I got to try their crab cake. It was really good with lots of crab. We especially like the vegetable that came with it, not quite sure what it was, but it was delicious with the crab cake. We ordered their castle cut prime rib, and oh my goodness, it was definitely a generous cut. It came with a side of pop over, cream spinach, and cream corn. We also ordered their mac & cheese with bone marrow and truffle fries. Everything was really really good. Very generous portions with everything. I think next time, we will share a castle cut instead of ordering individually because we had so much leftover. The service and vibe was awesome. We even had carolers come by and sing happy birthday and a Christmas song to my boyfriend. The service was Linda was great. This place is definitely worth coming to for a nice dinner or a special occasion. Make sure to add it on your bookmark.

Yelp
The summit house has been a beautiful and delicious institution in the heart of Fullerton for decades! The restaurant is beautiful with the piano player, the lively atmosphere and the great service you can't go wrong. On this particular evening, my friends and I sat at the bar in the lounge. The French onion soup and escargot were delicious as was the rack of lamb my friends had. The bartender served us and he was awesome. If you haven't booked yourself for the holidays, don't bother you won't get in. We'll have to wait till January after the further dies down to go back.

Yelp
This place never misses. The prime rib is always tender and flavorful, and I have to get the truffle fries every single time. They're addictively crispy, thin-cut, and drizzled with just the right amount of truffle oil. So salty, so umami, so dangerous. I could easily crush the entire basket myself, and the portion is super generous too. The bone marrow mac & cheese is solid. Not my favorite, but I still order it sometimes because the presentation and cheese pull are on point. It's just a bit on the oily side. Even the complimentary bread is worth mentioning. It's soft, warm, and perfect with butter. The restaurant has such a cozy vibe, and for the portion sizes and quality, the prices are honestly really fair. Plus, you get unlimited creamed corn and spinach, which feels like such a rare and underrated perk.

Yelp
Went for Mother's Day and it was not that great. Horrible service. Horrible steaks. I remember when I used to go and everything was great. But after COVID... everything changed. We kept waiting for our server to come and get our order. Then it took forever for our food to come out. We asked for medium rare, however, we got well done steaks. They never came back to check in on us. We ended up not finishing and took it home. I know it sounds bad... but.... We gave it to our dog. Pretty disappointed. Hopefully, if we go back, it's better.

Yelp
My baby sister had her wedding reception here and we are happy with how everything turned out. The mocktails were inconsistent. Some would come out extra sweet, which no one liked. Not sure how all the alcoholic ones were, but I was told the lemondrop and pineapple tea(?) were not very good. The food was good, but I wish they asked how we wanted our meat done. Everyone's came out on the rare side, which was not something all would have wanted. The staff was great though and my baby sister and baby bro in law had a wonderful time. That's what matters most! I definitely would recommend this restaurant for events and weddings!

Yelp
what can i say... the only place i get prime rib... celebrated birthdays and all the holidays here! i love it. the place to go in OC for prime rib with stunning views! THE ORDER: -cottage cut prime rib - plenty filling! comes with a scoop of creamed spinach, one single popover, scoop horseradish sauce, au jus, and creamed corn in a separate dish! everything goes really well together. my favorites are the prime rib, corn and spinach! PROS: -complimentary bread & butter -prime rib WEDNESDAYS - cottage cut for $38.95!!! -its not your typical high end dinner restaurant... it feels like it transports me back in time! -dress nice, but not mandatory -full service cocktails, wines, beers, whiskeys -has other high end dishes outside of beef (aka seafood, etc.) -the staff signs cards for special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) -beautiful exterior view -comped desert for special occasions! CONS: -none except parking can get packed OVERALL: can't wait to return...

Yelp
We dined at Summit House to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary. I made a reservation for a Saturday evening for a party of 5 and we were seated promptly upon arrival. Our table was near a window with a beautiful view of the city and the skyline/sunset as well as a pretty area with grass and benches and trees. Our waitress was Daisy which was super informative, knowledgeable, attentive, and sweet. The Chai Espresso Martini was delicious, loved it!, I ordered the Cottage Cut Prime Rib. I asked to substitute the creamed spinach with the au gratin potatoes and I asked for an end piece of the prime rib. Everything was perfect and delicious. The meat was moist and flavorful, the creamed corn and potatoes were loaded with flavor and delicious as well. We also ordered the bone marrow Mac and cheese and it was great! What stood out to me was the what I'd describe as sharp cheddar taste/flavor was perfect! Our dinner was a 5 out of 5. I was very pleased, I'm bummed we didn't try Summit House a lot sooner as it's so close to home. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
This restaurant is one of my favorites. It is so classy. I love the front door! That red just pops! We came here to celebrate my birthday! We ordered a bottle of my favorite wine: Caymus. This wine is soooooo good! For dinner, we ordered the Skuna Bay Salmon, which was oak-grilled with a sweet chili glaze. It was served with spinach and cilantro-lime rice. OMG ... to die for. Very flavorful and it was a good-sized entree! We also ordered the Roast Rack of Colorado Lamb which was their special that night. They usually do not have this on the menu. It was an oven-roasted, herb-rubbed lamb with a spicy sauce made with citrus and flavored with marigold and mint, and served with garlic mashed potatoes. I'm not a fan of lamb but omg soooooo good! Not gamy at all and super tender! I highly recommend this dish and I hope they add it to their menu. We also ordered their creamed corn because I love love love their creamed corn. To die for! For my birthday dessert .... They brought me the English Trifle. It was made with fresh strawberries, topped with Chantilly cream, toasted almonds, and a raspberry on top. Too strawberry-ish (is this a word?!) for me but nevertheless still good! There was a card at our table for me for my birthday and I found it sweet that the staff signed it. Most restaurants do not do this so this was a classy touch. I will definitely be back! Next time we will try to get a table by the windows for the view! The service here is phenomenal! They are very attentive! Thank you Summit House for making my birthday memorable!

Yelp
We got married here a year ago, came back for our 1st anniversary dinner. This restaurant is totally for boomers and I mean that complimentarily. The ambience is just so gorgeous, especially at sunset where the colors of the night sky permeate the cozy 'hunting lodge' through large, stately windows Crab cakes Lobster bisque French onion soup Castle cut prime rib Cowboy ribeye Prime rib was so good. We did not finish... not even close. Soups and crab cakes lean little salty. The lemon had a cheesecloth wrap on it, so nice. Creamed corn addicting.

Yelp
Well whats not to love about a restaurant that sits on TOP of The World. You literally have the best views which makes the ambiance a delight. With plenty of parking you get a 360 of North Orange County upon entering you are greeted and seated. Ive popped in for their happy hour and dinner. Happy hour has a cool designed outdoor patio and playing in background. The seats are underneath their big beautiful trees. As for tye restaurant, we celebrated anniversary and bdays here. I can truly say Valentines dinner is always special because of the heart shaped steak cuts and my favorite ravioli is heart shaped Like I said, popping in for a quick casual drink is so relaxing after a 5 Mile hike. We were in our work out clothes and even then,we still felt very welcomed. Dinner with hubby we dress up,and hubby looks handsome in his suit. We are always welcomed to a great host, and fast service. I recommend this stunning restaurant for special occasions and for after work/social gatherings. Thanks to the staff and chef, they always make our visit a memorable one!

Yelp
This was my first visit to Summit house. I am part of a Meetup group that has dinner here every November. I will definitely plan to attend next year's dinner as well. The parking was separated into two or three lots. I chose to park myself instead of having a valet. There is a beautiful walkway between the parking lot and the restaurant itself. The interior is cozy and reminds me of Rothchild's in Corona Del Mar. As I sat at the dinner table, I felt like I was in a Hallmark holiday movie. It felt so warm and family like. I wasn't particularly hungry that night, as my earlier lunch stayed with me, and I decided to eat lighter than normal for dinner. Instead of ordering prime rib, which would have been my GoTo meal, I ordered the rotisserie chicken instead. The server was on the ball, and his service was very good, considering we had a large party. The Support staff was on the ball as well. Everyone at my table seem to be happy and some were regulars at Summit house. I would have ordered dessert, but I was stuffed and will have to make a return visit with a date.

Yelp
What a gorgeous restaurant. We celebrated my husband's birthday here last week and had a fantastic time. The service was wonderful. Our server was named Dakota and he really made us feel welcomed. The food was top notch. The caesar salad is incredible, especially paired with the bread. My husband and I split the 10 Oz filet. It was delicious. The scalloped potato was a nice touch. We also loved the creamed corn and creamed spinach. We brought a bottle of wine for a corkage fee, and also had additional drinks. My husband was given a complimentary birthday card and dessert. His parents enjoyed their entrees. My grandpa is a light eater, so he just had a bowl of French onion soup and he loved it. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
My hubby and I went here yesterday for dinner to celebrate our anniversary and had an amazing experience. We started off by ordering the Summit House Margaritas, which were very refreshing and tasty. After we finished our margaritas we ordered a second round of drinks; I tried their Lavender Lemon Drop, and my husband had the Rosemary Ginger Old Fashioned. Both of these drinks were unique and tasted great! For our entrees we both ordered the Roast Prime Ribs of Beef (cooked to our preference of medium rare) in the Summit House Cut. Our entrees came with Creamed Corn au Gratin, Creamed Spinach, and a Yorkshire Popover. We also ordered a side of the Bone Marrow Mac & Cheese. As an added bonus for our anniversary, we were given a dessert of Profiteroles au Chocolate on the house. Everything was full of flavor and tasted delicious. (For the prime rib I'd recommend ordering the cottage cut, unless you're particularly hungry). This restaurant is not cheap, but you do get large portions of food. We had plenty of leftovers to take home, which was nice. Our server (I believe his name was Jacob) was very polite, attentive, and provided helpful menu recommendations. He had our food and drinks brought out to us quickly. The entire staff made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in, and even gave us a sweet anniversary card signed by everyone. Lastly, the atmosphere of the restaurant was wonderful. The interior is very spacious and beautifully decorated. There was soft piano music playing in the background, which made the ambience very pleasant and relaxing. We also had window seating with a beautiful view, and a romantic setting. :) We will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
I've always wanted to come here - checked it off the bucket list finally. Great spot for a fancy dinner/special occasion. Nice to dress up and enjoy the views outside. Food was definitely nice and quality. The favorites were definitely the Mac n cheese and the creamed corn - both very very very good. I think the corn just comes as a side for everyone? The cream spinach was good as well, came with the pot roast. The pot roast is like their signature dish, so that's why we got it, but I don't think I'd get it again personally. The salmon was good as well. We left very full with leftovers. Filling meal and plenty of food with the free bread too! It's obviously expensive too, so idk if I would make it a regular thing, and I don't know if it's my first choice for an expensive dinner, although I'm glad we tried it. Probably won't come again for a while, but just because we aren't eating fancy expensive dinners every week haha. Service was friendly and helpful when deciding what to order. We didn't get dessert although they looked delicious.

Yelp
Tried their Happy Hour in the bar area. Not a large bar area but they do have a few table/chairs in addition to the bar counter top. Good selection HH drinks and foods, and you can still order from the regular menu. Our highlights were the Lavender Lemon Drop, French Onion Soup, and the charcuterie board. I could probably have several of the lavender drops and the charcuterie board had a god selection of meats, cheeses, nuts, grapes, honey, and crackers. Very good Happy Hour and highly recommend.

Yelp
this popular steakhouse in fullerton sit on the top of a hill. it has a beautiful view of the suburban lights and the restaurant interior is very homey and classic. this was my first visit and i was surprised to enjoy it as much as i did! we went for my birthday and so they gave us a free dessert with a little card signed by all of the staff. it's definitely a pricey spot, but they give some complimentary items so you could fill up without breaking the bank if you wanted to. Hokkaido Scallops 2 giant scallops wrapped in prosciutto and sitting in a cheesy cranberry apple pecan chutney. the sauce with the pecan and cranberry mixed together so well and complimented the scallops. such an interesting dish and so good! Bone Marrow Mac n' Cheese for a side dish this was HUGE. i love mac n' cheese but honestly this was not my favorite. i felt like it didn't have too much flavor and felt very overly fatty to me (more than normal mac n cheese for some reason). it does come with some chili flakes that add a nice little kick. French Onion Soup Gratinee this soup was amazing. it was savory and just slightly sweet from the onions without being overwhelming. the giant chunks of bread were soft yet crispy and deliciously soaked up the broth. the melted cheese tied it altogether nicely as well. this was a win for me. Lamb Chop w/ Risotto this was a seasonal dish and tbh i didn't care for it as much as i thought i would. the meat was tender and good but the cheesy risotto lacked character for me and the honey chimichurri sauce was too sweet for my liking. Roast Prime Ribs of Beef Cottage Cut i don't like beef much but if i go back i'd order this instead. this plate was loaded and the meat was tender, the yorkshire popover was soft and crispy, and it comes with unlimited horseradish sauce and creamed corn. Complimentary Bread i would fill up on this sourdough bread if i could...

Yelp
Father's Day was celebrated here and the service is always great! It feels like your grandmother's house with the giant fireplace and family style seating. It's such a cute place, I love coming here. To start, we ordered the seaside sampler: crab cakes, Mexican prawns, and ahi sashimi. This appetizer was delicious and consumed entirely by our party of 5! For our entrees: prime rib that included creamed corn, creamed spinach, and the infamous Yorkshire popover! The French onion soup was incredible, filet mignon with au gratin potatoes my daughter ate her entire plate up. We tried the bone marrow Mac and cheese and this was rich and filling. For dessert, we decided on the caramel bread pudding with Haagen Dazs vanilla ice cream, hot caramel sauce, anddddd salted roast pecans! It was so good :) This is a great option for large parties or if you want to dress up a bit. I think it's even okay if you wanna go more casual. People wear whatever the heck they want these days anyway lol. Summit house will always have my heart, and stomach!

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and come here if you get a chance. This place is SPECIAL! The service is tailored to each customer and very prompt. The inside reminds you of an old cabin of yesteryear. Came for our 1 year wedding anniversary and so glad we did. I ordered the castle cut prime rib and my wife ordered the summit cut. Both were absolutely to die for. We also ordered French onion soup and the Cesar salad. The French onion soups flavors were deep and rich, one of the best I've had. The Cesar salad was also really good, The bone marrow Mac and cheese was exquisite, Our cocktails were both top notch and it was worth every penny we spent. They topped it off with a free dessert for our first anniversary. What an experience.

Yelp
Overall, a great experience at Summit House! Service was friendly and attentive, the views were beautiful, and the food came out surprisingly fast. Our only odd gripe -- the seating. Our group had a random mix of chairs: some cushioned and comfy, others hard table chairs that sat higher. Not a huge deal, but definitely gave off a mismatched vibe. We started with the seafood platter (crab cakes, sashimi, shrimp) and the charcuterie board. Both were okay -- fresh, but nothing special. Honestly, the appetizers were a little underwhelming. The soups and salads were a pleasant surprise, though! Everyone enjoyed theirs. I had the wedge salad -- super tasty and crisp, just wish it was a little lighter on the dressing. For mains, we got the prime rib, rack of lamb, ribeye, and filet. Everyone was happy with their meals and portions were generous. I tried a bite of the ribeye -- easily my favorite, even better than the prime rib IMO. Sides were decent overall, and the bone marrow mac and cheese was the standout -- rich, creamy, and delicious. We finished with the assorted desserts, which were perfect for sharing. My top picks were the cheesecake and crème brûlée. Least favorite was the chocolate ganache, but we also had a slice of carrot cake that looked amazing (wish I had room to try it!). All in all, Summit House delivered a solid meal with great service and views. It reminded me a bit of House of Prime Rib but with more variety, which I liked. Nothing was so special that I'm rushing back soon, but I'd definitely return again for another nice night out.

Yelp
An iconic place in Orange County tucked away in the hills of Fullerton with an incredible view. The staff are warm, welcoming, and professional. Great place for formal dining and come early and enjoy the view. We met a nice lady who was our server and she let me in on a secret refreshing drink called the Arnold Schwarzenegger... it's Summit House's take on the classic Arnold Palmer. Visited the other night had the rib-eye and it lived up to expectations. Also added the charcuterie board and bacon wrapped scallops.... Hats off to the chef and the staff! Yelp
Came for prime rib Wednesday and it was such a deal! The Caesar salad, prime rib, and crème brûlée were all delicious. Our waitress was superb and very friendly when it came to answering all our questions about ordering. Ambiance inside is great as well as it's a nicer restaurant and has views from the top of the hill. Give this place a try if you're craving a nice dinner!

Yelp
We go to the Summit House every Christmas to enjoy prime rib with all the traditional fixings and the awesome carolers. Decor is also very festive. We look forward to special prime rib pricing on Wednesdays once the holiday season passes.

Yelp
After hearing friends raving about Summit House, hubby was eager to go that weekend! Concerned that outdoor seating was the only option, it turned out to be a blessing, as we were privileged to be personally seated by their manager to our table, fabulously located offering great views! The outdoor dining area is appealingly open & airy, with the tables comfortably spaced apart. We were also fortunate to be served by Jen(nifer), who was fun-&-personable, knowledgeable on the restaurant's history and the menu, and offered fabulous service, which was comfortably attentive, yet completely unrushed -- and who I'd later discovered happened to be our friends' server during their visit. A complimentary loaf of warm sourdough bread served with a ramekin of softened butter was a tasty accompaniment with our preprandial martini cocktails -- respectively, vodka and gin ($19 each). We started with their Summit House salad, split ($15), followed by Roast Prime Ribs of Beef - Castle cut, split, ($94.50); our split entrees were attractively presented; the prime rib extremely generous in size (more than I could consume) and beautifully prepared; their horseradish is a nice balance between chunky and creamy. Given the theme (English inn and prime rib), I chose their English Trifle ($15) as the finale to our meal; however, we didn't enjoy the dessert -- took just a couple of bites; it was not what I'd expected in presentation or taste (the strawberries were not the texture I'd imagined and were too sweet for my preference). Apart from the selected dessert, it was a lovely and memorable evening. Their receipt notes, "Your Special Occasion Place"; indeed, I agree, and shall be among our go-to places for a celebration... or as it was for this first experience, a fun-&-special date night. Limited self and complimentary valet parking is available in front of the restaurant; with a full lot, we found parking in the Vista Park lot below, making a fun uphill walk to dinner and a nice downhill walk along the trail after our meal (surprisingly, the path was not lit at night). Looking forward to returning to experience more of their menu items -- and their bar, as well.

Yelp
Came here as a group of 5 with a reservation for dinner on Wednesday and we were seated right after we checked in! We've been here a couple times in the past and we've honestly never been disappointed! ~the food~ - Cottage cut prime rib (usually $54, but $38 on Wednesdays only!): Their prime ribs comes with their famous creamed corn, creamed spinach, and Yorkshire popover. Their creamed corn is so sweet and delicious and pairs amazingly with their Yorkshire popover. I felt that the creamed spinach was a bit too salty for my taste, but was still delicious! Their prime rib cut is very tender, and flavorful! Personally, the cottage cut is more than enough in terms of portion (I almost with they had a smaller size)! - Big rock blue cheese iceberg wedges ($16): Iceberg lettuce wedges topped with tomatoes, bacon, pecans, and their blue cheese dressing. Even though I'm not a fan of blue cheese, I really enjoyed this salad! The portion of this salad is quite big, so I recommend sharing this between 2-4 people especially as a starter. ~parking~ Parking isn't generally an issue as their restaurant has a decent sized parking lot! ~overall~ The ambiance is very nice and cozy, it truly feels like a house. The service was also great! Our server was very attentive and made our dinner a great experience. Pricing wise, I think that the because of the food quality and service, I think it's a great deal! You can tell that they use really nice quality beef for their prime ribs and so I think their pricing is super reasonable!

Yelp
I so wanted to love the Summit House based on friends' recommendations, albeit from years ago. We decided to come for our anniversary. The nice opening touches were appreciated- a signed by all staff personalized anniversary card was waiting at our table. Although we couldn't see the view, our booth was comfortable. Our server, Luke, was as attentive as he could be given the amount of tables he was responsible for. But the kitchen timing was off, and the bar could not make a basic margarita despite two tries, and I am pretty forgiving. The lobster bisque was soooo salty and I love salt. It was so bracingly salty that I could not finish half of it. My filet mignon was lukewarm to cold when it came out. My husband's prime rib was hot... we deduced it was because the large party of 12 next to us mostly had prime rib, so mine probably sat around for awhile. Since I already sent back my marg, I just gave up after 2 bites and the air fryer or microwave it will be for lunch tomorrow. They did send out a complimentary Chocolate puff pastry with choc chip ice cream, which was decadent and helped redeem my mediocre dinner. $35 corkage fee which we gladly took advance of, but then my husband opted for the $85 forty year port... guess one balanced out the other.

Yelp
We came here to celebrate my parents' anniversary. We had a reservation, but we decided to arrive early so we could grab a drink in the bar. I started with the French onion soup. It was so flavorful! The prime rib was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and paired perfectly with the horseradish sauce. The wait staff was really attentive and helpful. They made sure we had everything we needed.

Yelp
Came back to summit house to celebrate my fiance's birthday and they had the prime rib Wednesday deal! It's such an amazing deal. $38 for prime rib, creamed spinach, creamed corn, and Yorkshire popover. We also ordered a side of truffle fries and it was DELICIOUS! I love how crispy the shoestring fries were and the truffle flavor was everything! They make you feel so special when it's your birthday, they gave him a signed card and a free birthday dessert! Definitely will be back to celebrate more birthdays!

Yelp
Summit House is such a nice and romantic spot. It's located on top of a hill and isn't too far from CSUF. The ambiance has a cozy feel, almost like if you're in a romantic cabin. I recommend this restaurant especially for special occasions. The staff goes above and beyond with a card, celebratory dessert, and attentive and wonderful service. The food and drink selection is also great. I love the cream corn, filet mignon, and prime rib.

Yelp
Definitely made our dinner date special with the free anniversary dessert and card. Prime rib was superb n the summit cut was worth the price (I believe it was the biggest cut with bone in) Pesto risotto was good too but won't get it again.

Yelp
Another outstanding dinner here at Summit House. Made prior reservations, which is a must. Ordered their Scallops as appetizer along with their Lobster bisque. For the entrée, we went with their Castle cut Prime rib and their special, which was their Rack of Lamb with risotto. The steak was tender and full of flavor. The lamb was tender as well. Overall dinner was served by Abby, who was very friendly and had a smile in her face all the time. She was attentive and professional. Love this place.

Yelp
One of our very few favorite date night place. I never have a bad time here, always a wonderful meal and conversations. We celebrated major milestones here and will continue to do so. So grateful for this amazing restaurant in our community.

Yelp
I've been a fan of Summit House for years, drawn back time and again by the elegant ambiance, stunning hilltop views, and what used to be reliably outstanding prime rib. The creamed corn and Yorkshire pudding are still highlights that bring fond memories, and the overall vibe makes it a great spot for special occasions. But my most recent visit was a letdown that tempered those good feelings. Our waiter, Branden, started off okay but quickly adopted a bit of an attitude--short responses and a vibe that made us feel like we were bothering him. When our prime rib arrived, two out of the four cuts looked off: the meat was separated and falling apart, not at all like the juicy, intact slices you see in photos or on the menu. It almost seemed like we'd gotten the rotten or poorly handled end of the cut--definitely abnormal compared to what we expected. We pointed it out politely, but Branden insisted that's just how it should look. Meanwhile, glancing around, every other table had those picture-perfect, uniform slices that matched the hype. After some back-and-forth, he eventually offered to replace them, but not without a degrading eye-roll that made the whole interaction uncomfortable. The new slices definitely looked much better in terms of appearance, but cutting in, our medium rare and medium orders were still overcooked--more like medium and medium well--and the centers were oddly cold, which killed the enjoyment. To top it off, Branden didn't even offer us dessert, skipping that part of the service entirely. We almost felt like we were being discriminated against, given how attentive he seemed to other tables. It's a shame because I've had flawless experiences here in the past, but this time felt rushed, subpar, and unwelcoming. I'd would recommend Summit House for its classics and atmosphere, but quality control and service need a lot of tightening. Hopefully, this was just an off night.

Yelp
Wow. Came here to celebrate graduating and finishing the semester with friends, everything is top tier: service, food, drinks, and ambiance was perfect. Live piano music on a Sunday night. Ordered: Truffle Fries: 10/10 appetizer finger food, perfectly crispy and seasoned shoestring fries, debated ordering when we emptied the basket, but needed to save my stomach for the main dish. Summit House Prime Rib: 1000/10 my camera does not do this plate justice, I got it medium, perfectly cooked soft and juicy and au jus is a MUST. Creamed spinach wasn't too salty, was my first time trying a popover and loved it!! Saw all the reviews about the creamed corn and didn't think much until I actually tried it, had probably half the dish by myself. Lavender Lemon Drop: 10/10 drink went by too quickly, but as someone who hates the taste of alcohol this was a fun tasty drink! My friends ordered the Moscow Mule and the Chai Espresso Martini, both solid options as well. Spicy Pomegranate Paloma changed my life for the better 100/10 for the DDs of your group. Experience and food was worth the price tag, we were celebrating and wanted to enjoy the food and each others company, will be repeat customers after this amazing first time experience thank you to the staff for taking good care of us!

Yelp

Yelp
Everything from appetizers to dessert it was really delicious! It did not disappoint us! This is our second time coming to this restaurant the first was when I took my husband for his birthday as the decor and ambiance was great for a romantic dinner and also for an old fashion dinning experience! We both had a wonderful time so we decided to come and introduce it to our friends and spend his birthday here with his wife! And they loved it! The service was great our waiter Leo was wonderful to have so positive and Josiah the manager at that time was also pleasant! We brought our own wine too, although the corkage was a little bit expensive given the fact that they didn't have the proper opener and also the proper wine glasses... Overall we all had a great time with delicious food! We will for sure be back with more friends and maybe plan a wine dinner soon!!!

Yelp
Loved everything about our visit to Summit House! We went on a Wednesday for their prime rib deal--such an amazing value. We got there early enough to catch happy hour, and it was totally worth it. The drinks were great, especially the espresso martini--highly recommend coming early to take full advantage. The prime rib was a 5/5--tender, flavorful, a must-order. The bone marrow mac and cheese was a bit of a miss for me--2/5. It lacked flavor and the bone marrow felt more like a gimmick than a real addition. The Brussels sprouts had great flavor--solid 4/5--but could've been crispier. The fries were perfect--crispy, hot, and delicious. 5/5. The creamed corn was also a standout--5/5 and love that it's complimentary! Not a fan of their creamed spinach, but to be fair, I usually don't like that dish anywhere. The ambiance is cozy and charming--it really does feel like you're dining in a house, which fits the name perfectly. If you get seated by the window, the view is amazing. The vibe is classy but relaxed--you don't have to dress up too fancy, casual is totally fine here. To top it off, the staff was incredibly sweet and even surprised us with a free dessert for our anniversary--such a thoughtful touch. Phenomenal experience overall. This is a perfect spot for a special occasion or just a great dinner out. Only downside: parking isn't the best. We had to park in the lower lot and walk a bit, but valet is available if you'd rather not deal with that. Highly recommend

Yelp
My family and I celebrated Thanksgiving here and it was a great first time experience! The three course meal was delicious. Butternut squash soup, prime rib, and pumpkin cheesecake. Our server Daisy was friendly and very professional. Lastly the venue was elegant and cozy with a nice view of the mountains. We will return to try their regular menu.

Yelp
**UPDATED REVIEW** Still love this place! It holds a special place in my heart. The service & food is always great. The ONLY complaint I have is their desserts. All of them suck. I'm not sure why they can't come up with better desserts after all these years, but sadly it's one place I don't like getting dessert at. EVERYTHING ELSE 5 STARS!

Yelp
High location, Low satisfaction... Teeny weenie, eency weencie portion sizes. Itty bitty menu choices. Only a teaspoon of port wine reduction. Really a teaspoon!! But the spoonful of canned onion bits topper. Someone looked at that and said yeah it's OK. I will serve it. Do not recommend. I guess go for a drink in the bar and stare at the city lights .

Yelp
Wanted some incredible food and ambience, braved an 1.5 hour Friday traffic for it. They hit the mark ambiance wise but fell incredibly short with the food, it was disappointing :/. We tried: Lobster Bisque- this was the best dish with a hearty helping of fresh lobster Prime rib, cottage and summit cuts- skinny crappy cuts Bone marrow Mac-looks cool, tastes okay John Dory- tasted like it sat out on a counter for awhile, Creamed corn-This was good The fresh bread was good served with the meal. The cocktails were well crafted. The service staff was great and the lovely birthday card was thoughtful. The food quality (at least what we ordered above) didn't match the price point nor the reputation of this restaurant in my opinion. Definitely disappointing, maybe we were just unlucky.

Yelp
I've lived in OC the majority of my life and just visited this restaurant tonight! I've been missing out!! This place is tucked away on a the hillside of Fullerton overlooking the city. The view here is amazeballs! We had a sunset dinner and it was just beautiful to watch. They're known for their prime rib and it was bomb.com! 10/10 would recommend. My salad was a little wilted and salty though. The chocolate torte for dessert totally made up for it though. I was stuffed but as someone who has a second stomach for desserts, it was well worth the calories! Service was well paced and friendly. Parking wasn't too bad and they do have valet.
