Tried the duck for the first time and it was amazing!! Food is very affordable as well. Our waitress was extremely nice and helped us order for our first time trying this place out. Definitely coming back!!

Google
Proper Chinese food in Windsor! Decided to give this place a shot and wasn’t disappointed.. service was quick but there was a bit of wait for the food as the restaurant was quite busy. The food was delicious! Chicken wings are awesome… the roast pork was actually very yummy, and the General Tao chicken was absolutely fantastic! Highly recommended and would definitely return next time we’re in town! 🙏👌👍🏻🤤

Google
Went to try a new place today and stopped in at Sun Hong B B Q & Seafood Restaurant on wyandotte street west, let me just say it did not disappoint. From the service to the food and just the atmosphere alone was so welcoming. I HIGHLY recommend this place!!!!everything came out fast and our waitress was super attentive to us and made sure to double check everything so that our order was correct! We will definitely be going back (we got the roasted meat combination, the szechuan chicken, spicy popcorn prom and the two meat over rice)

Google
The food was good. I tried the roasted duck on rice with a couple of bok choy leaves and three steamed pork buns. It was served fresh and hot. However, the server who served me was really rude. When I asked about a certain plate about what does it come with, she scolded me by saying, "You should know what you want!" When I asked her for something she told me, "wait a moment!" She was really condescending. I also didn't like when I was paying for my meal they put on the machine the tip options already prearranged like you have to pay 12% and upwards for a tip even though the service was lousy and abysmal. If it were not for that server and having to experience her condescending attitude I would have given a great overall rating of 5 stars. This is a type of restaurant you should go every once in a year, if not, never at all until they change lousy servers like that lady - yes, the Asian lady with short, dark hair with glasses, that lady mentioned from previous reviews about this place, she is terrible.

Google
Great food, great service, and very friendly staff! I was lucky to be served by the leng lui Annie. She was very accommodating and patient for someone like me who doesn't eat Chinese often. The duck is definitely a must have!

Google
We ordered from this place January 1/2026 horrible service. She took my complete order waited over an hour to deliver only to receive half order. I had to call back and I’ve been waiting an hour already for the rest of my food. She said oh sorry was written on the back. When I called to complain she knew exactly what was missing from my order. I am very disappointed with this place. Last time as eat in it was also horrible. And no apology. We definitely miss the old restaurants we use to have here

Google
The lady with short hair and glasses showed bad attitude and through straight away the bill on my table after i paid and tip 5%. She said the 5% tip is not ok that means we deserve that kind of attitude? Never come back definitely

Google
We love dining at this restaurant. The food was scrumptious and always a delight to spend meal with families and friends. Great friendly atmosphere. Reasonable price, portion is more than enough and there's even leftovers to bring home. Highly recommend this fantastic place for dining in, take out/delivery for any occasion. 💖 You go! You'll never be disappointed 🌞🤗

Yelp
Food is way overpriced! We ordered a large Chinese wonton soup to go. Tasted like water, no flavor, 4 wonton's 4 oz. of soup no bok choy, & sliced green onion. $18.95. We used to get 2 containers of the large soup for $12.95, 3months ago plus it tasted good. I wouldn't have complained except this is robbery. I got 4 oz's of watery soup @ $18.95 + 13% tax & a 15%tip for takeout. We also ordered dumplings. Terrible!! Tasted like something I can buy frozen in the grocery store. We got greasy deep fried pork dumplings with a tiny bit of vinegar for dipping. 10 @ 10.95 + 13% tax. I'm done! We keep saying let's try it again, every time it's why?? Food is way overpriced for flavor & what you get. We liked the old owners much better! The food was more delicious! Sorry about the bad review, but your food is really bad. We go to Toronto & eat at many Chinese restaurants the food is delicious & not near as expensive as Sun Hong BBQ.

Yelp
Came on a Sunday. It was fairly busy and food came out pretty quick. Staff was friendly and gave us free soup and pickled veggies. Overall I was happy with everything we ate. I would definitely get the har gow. My least favorite was the soup dumplings (

Yelp
2025-02-02. Sun Hong BBQ & Seafood. Windsor, ON The problem with finding a place that does a dish well is that it sets the bar by which all else is compared. That's why food reviews are so subjective. They're all based on personal tastes and flavors. So, as I write this review, you may want to take it with a grain of salt. I don't frequent Windsor very often, so I don't know what the competition is like here. Maybe Sun Hong is "as good as it gets" for Windsor and other places are even worse, who knows... For Roasted BBQ meats, my favorite is still Yummy Wok BBQ (in Toronto). Their flavors are inexplicable, but I can tell you it's all in their rub and their marinade. To me Sun Hong duck wasn't even in the same league. The duck was roasted the traditional way, but it had so little flavor, it barely registered. When I asked for duck sauce, they gave me packets of Plum sauce. Wait whut? Now for many, plum sauce is what you have with duck, but I have never eaten roast duck with plum sauce. At Yummy Wok, nobody asks for plum sauce. In fact, I don't even know if they have plum sauce. When you order a duck there, they douse it with their marinade (which is 5-spice based), and let me tell you, it's the crack of duck sauces! Once you try that, you'll never go back! On the bright side, the duck at Sun Hong was not dried out. 2-stars for the proper cook. The roasted pork was a little overdone and the meat was drier that I liked. I got the piece just below the ribs. The pieces had a medium amount of fat. On the bright side the skin was crispy as it should be. The sauce with this is Hoisin, and aside from the cook, you really can't go wrong with this dish. Yummy Wok uses their signature dry rub on their roast pork, which makes it a little salty for most, but it makes up for it in flavor. Sun Hong has no such rub and their pork was barely salted. Combine this with the overcook, and I have to go 3 stars here. Lastly, I ordered some BBQ pork (aka Char Siu). This is a baked pork that is honey glazed. I asked for a leaner cut here as I wanted to use any leftovers to make a fried rice and they did a decent job in getting me some leaner pieces. Like the roast pork, the char siu was overcooked which dried it out a bit. Flavour wise, it was pretty much as expected. Again, it's five-spice based and there's little variation outside the other main ingredients. The only variable is the quantity they use to make certain flavors more prominent than others. They did cut the slices quite thick, more than I'm used to, and that added to making it a bit more tough. When overcooked, the key is to slice it thinner to make it more tender. Despite this and the overcook, this was probably their best dish. 3.5 stars. The other shocker for me was the price. 1/2 Roast Duck, 1lb of Roast Pork, and 1lb of Char Siu came to a whopping $62! Overall, if I'm being honest, this was very underwhelming for me. But keep in mind, everyone has different standards. Many people do prefer that their meats are fully cooked (I'm not one of them. I like these types of meats, just cooked -- no pink.) and many prefer it super lean (again, I'm not one of them. I like a little fat as cooking with the fat is what gives it the flavor!) Lastly, many prefer milder flavors, whereas I like mine bold and intense. My standards are most likely different from others, as are my taste preferences. If You would like to experience more, come dine-with-me.yelp.com I'd love to have your company... Bon Appétit!

Yelp
I've been coming to this restaurant since 2005. It has always been consistently delicious. I always recommend this place as the best Cantonese food in all of Windsor. Their BBQ pork on rice, with extra of their soya sauce of course, spicy green beans & their spicy shrimp with Salt is the best I've had anywhere!
google avatar

Yelp
Very delicious Chinese food! The restaurant is very clean. Service was very good but we were here during after lunch hours. We ordered the sizzling beef, chicken fried rice, garlic string beans, and the black bean fish. All the dishes were well seasoned and delicious. We will be back.

Yelp
I've been coming here for many, many years (for as long as I can remember) and the quality has remained consistent throughout. This Chinese barbecue restaurant has the best soy sauce chicken I've had - the soy sauce has just the right touch of sweetness to contrast the saltiness and the meat is tender and flavorful. Their other meats (barbecue pork, roasted pork, duck) are solid as well. We often stop by this place on the way to or from Toronto. On my most recent visit, we ordered Cantonese chow mein, seafood bird nest, and sizzling beef tenderloin in chef's special sauce. The chow mein was crispy without being overly greasy. The meat, seafood, and veggies inside were all fresh and delicious, as was the gravy covering all of it. The bird nest also contained fresh and tasty seafood and veggies inside a crunchy potato "nest". And finally, although the beef "tenderloin" wasn't really tenderloin (it was a cheaper cut that was tenderized with an enzyme powder), the sauce and onions smothering it were sweet and delicious over rice. This is our go-to restaurant in Windsor and I highly recommend it!

Yelp
My partner and I found this gem on Yelp prior to our trip here to Windsor. We both knew we wanted to try their food. By the time we were all checked in to our hotel, it was already past 5pm, and I was happy to see they're on Uber Eats. We were too tired to go dine in or pick up our meal in person, so we ordered takeout delivered to our hotel. I ordered some roast pork -- it's some of the best I've ever had, the skin is soo crispy and to die for (if you know anything about Cantonese style BBQ, the skin is the best part and highlight of this dish). For the veggie dish, I went with their spicy garlic green beans, which we both loved and breathed through. We each ordered our own box of salted fish and chicken fried rice. Everything is delicious, I've had better fried rice that was seasoned better. However, I do appreciate how the natural flavor of the salted fish flavored this rice rather than soy sauce or something else. I'm so happy we ordered from here, and I'd definitely come back and recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for traditional Cantonese style cuisine and barbecue.

Yelp
Great food and selections on the menu, but the service is a bit slow. Wasn't any pineapple on the sweet and sour, which is unusual. Parking is on the street, which can be difficult. Clean and conveniently located facility.

Yelp
My family and I went here for our New Years dinner and it was a very good experience. Though the service was a little slow, the food itself made up for that. The food was very delicious. The portion size was quite large and not small at all. The prices are quite affordable for most students and families as well. The waiters were very nice and friendly to us and we had a great experience with this restaurant. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family members and will definitely be a regular.

Yelp
I would not recommend people going to this place Food: bad Service: bad I lived in Windsor years ago & stay in here this week. Bought some BBQ pork to bring home. I thought to have a quick & light dinner after a long day. So, I ordered wonton noodle soup. The noodle soup is awful. The BBQ pork, I paid before they chop it (which is reasonable). But I am not allow to have the BBQ pork with me until I leave the restaurant! Service: I had to ask for service, so, I can order food. When I asked, the waitress told me "just a minute", she walked away and went to the BBQ counter, so, she can socialize with a Canadian male. When I wanted to pay, I had to wait even there were only 3 tables (including mine). Then, she asked me "go to the BBQ cashier and pay there" I normally give people ~25-30% tip. I understand serving food at a restaurant is an easy job. Even I take out, I would give 15% tip. Tonight, I left her with zero tip. So, if you are not prepare to stay money or expect good food or reasonable service, I would suggest not going to that restaurant. I would not go there again.

Yelp
Coming from the central of Asian food in Ontario (Toronto/GTA), the roasted pork at this restaurant is not bad at all to be fair. The BBQ pork is lean and dry and didn't really have any fattier cuts which was quite disappointing leaving it a bit flavourless. The sauce that came with it appeared to be just regular soy sauce which didn't really help. Still need to try their soy sauce chicken and BBQ roasted duck. Will come back if I'm in Windsor and craving roasted pork but will save the BBQ pork for when I'm back at home in Toronto.
google avatar

Lexis C.

Yelp
Love this place, staff treats you like family and the food is spiced so cleverly. I would highly recommend their fried rice dishes, the stove is hot enough to give the rice an authentic fried taste, and incorporate the ingredients together perfectly. Price is fair for the portions you get and the flavors that come with it--would definitely be back here again next time I'm at Windsor!
google avatar

Zach C.

Yelp
What a great, authentic dining experience! Huge portions, at really reasonable prices. My family of four could have left more than full on two dinner specials. The wonton soup was one of the best I have ever tasted.
google avatar

Richard T.

Yelp
Haven't been to this place I a couple of years. They still have fantastic Chinese BBQ - roast pork, duck, chicken. All the standard offenders. Their restaurant food is quite good. They've done an amazing job expanding and renovating the eat in area. It's quite nice for a Chinese restaurant with comfortable tables and booth seating. The place to go for the best and largest volume of Chinese BBQ take away items in Windsor.
google avatar

Khoa N.

Yelp
The food isn't great, my mom went to buy BBQ pork from these people and my mom trusted them because they said there's not much fat and mostly meat...so she didn't look at what they put into the box, and when she brought it home...most of it was fat and greasy

Frank W.

Yelp
Extremely rude and unprofessional waitresses, also food is just edible at best. Me and my friends went there and we are one menu short, so this waitress just ripped the menu off my hands and gave it to my friend?????? Lmao we just walked out and never returned since, they should go out of business for sure. And I heard a lot stories about people getting food poisoning before. Just don't go there or order from there at all.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Great prices and nice portion sizes for a Chinese place. Their duck and Singapore noodles are particular favourites of mine. And they have the best moo shu pork in the city. Acceptable delivery times for take out. Looking at about an hour.

Yelp
Another Chinese gem in Windsor. They have been around for 20 years, and have now expanded into the old Wah Court location as well. THE FOOD 6 of us shared the large BBQ sampler, Mussels in black bean, Spicy salt shrimp, Garlic Eggplant and Lo Mein. Each dish was as good as I have ever had elsewhere, and everyone in our group seems to have found a new favourite. All for only $67, excluding tip. THE SERVICE Wow. I have recently noticed a trend of super-friendly service at some Chinese restaurants. They hit the mark, and were especially attentive to my dad who does now need a lot of attention. THE ATMOSPHERE Seems newly renovated, and very tastefully done. Not the usual generic or even tacky finishes or furnishings.

Yelp
I like. Open late. I've only ever got the Peking duck. Traditional pancake for first course. Lettuce wrap crystal fold for second. Cheaper than May Wah Inn. Late Night: Windsor Peking Duck War Course 1 (pancake duck): May Wah Inn (both places serve on Thai rainbow puff crisps, not quite what we had at Quanjude in Beijing) Windsor=/= Beijing Course 2 (lettuce wrap with minced duck): THIS SPOT Both courses are nice here. But their lettuce has always been fresh and delicious and I don't know what they do to the fillins, but it's good.
google avatar

S L.

Yelp
Absolutely love their food. Huge fan of their noodles in soup and their spring rolls are actually one of the BEST in Windsor. They don't skimp on the meat! Great service although wait time is meh.
google avatar

Doug C.

Yelp
What a great Chinese restaurant. Great food wonderful service I eat here often and have never been disappointed. The lunch specials are great and so much food great prices.
google avatar

Glenn C.

Yelp
Stumbled onto this place while heading back to the US for a late lunch. Portions were decent and the food pretty good. Shrimp and Broccoli had lots of shrimp and was bland exactly how my daughter wanted. My wife had a chicken and black bean dish that was good but had too much rice and less substance. Ditto for my seafood and rice dish. It was light on seafood and taste. My son had the General Tso's plate with fried rice. It had a lot of flavor. Pricing was reasonable. Waitress was flustered when I wanted to pay with Canadian dollars and the balance on charge.

Yelp
Great Roasted PIG, BBQ pork, BBQ Duck & chicken. Best place South of Toronto. My grand kids loves the Sausage's from them. I have my Christmas part here for many years !

John S.

Yelp
Came in for the General Tao lunch Combo and the food was stale and reheated. The mushroom fried rice tasted like the mushrooms were going bad. The Chicken was soggy and uninspiring, drenched in sauce to make up for its nonexistent flavour. Service was horrible, nobody attended to me after my food came and other tables were having major issues with their orders. As I was leaving I noticed that the Windsor Health Unit had given this place one star out of five. Looks like even the government wants to shut down Sun Hong down. Maybe the mayor tried the General Tao Combo and decided to act. Avoid. One star.

Mary M.

Yelp
What a disappointing customer service this restaurant has. I ordered food for how many time now and today didn't deliver the right order . Instead of apologizing the girl at this place argued and told me they won't send it cause if delivery charge and as good faith to their customers didn't even offer to give me my missing order. Good bye. U lose a customer. Rating :big fat ZERO!!!( I had to rate cause otherwise it wouldn't post. ) but it's no star! Learn to treat your clients right !!!
google avatar

Greg L.

Yelp
Food is fast and filling with great, simple flavors. You can always rely on this place for a solid meal,
google avatar

Evan G.

Yelp
I just got my food, absolutely blown away, it's hot and fresh, they took great care in wrapping all dishes so they would not leak. Portions are huge and definitely worth the price
google avatar

Martinus A.

Yelp
Visited this place because of a friend's recommended. While the food was decent, I felt that I have had better Bbq pork in Toronto. Waiting staff wasn't very friendly, but overall I wasn't too annoyed.
google avatar

S L.

Yelp
Very hit or miss. Eat here often. Sometimes good, sometimes horrible. Waitresses here are confusing, can't tell if they r mad at me or happy lol. Was served rotten pineapple with my dishes several times. Stick to bbq items I guess

Riri R.

Yelp
Had the fried noodles. They were so bland and tasteless and not at all what the menu described. Will not be back again.
google avatar

Dean S.

Yelp
Their cantonese food and bbq is among the best in Windsor. The shrimp dumplings with noodle in soup with bok choy is delicious and good for what ails you on a cold winter's evening. I've had average to poor service at times, but usually it is prompt and the food arrives at your table within 10-15 minutes. Their BBQ duck and pork are both delicious too. Washrooms are deplorable! The man who operates the BBQ counter is super friendly and polite, always saying "Hello" and "Thank you".
google avatar

Katie S.

Yelp
After a few of my go-to Chinese places closed I visited Sun Hong after a family member recommended it and I've been addicted ever since. This is hands down my favourite Chinese restaurant in the city! The service is fantastic, the place is incredibly clean and modern and the food will not let you down. My favourites are the #18 noodle dish and the roasted meat combination; the pork and duck on the spits in the front windows. If you haven't been, you need to give this place a try whether you're dining in or taking out!
google avatar

JellyBelly N.

Yelp
It's a great place for roast pork! Authentic chinese food! The place may not look good - but the food there is awesome. We always order Roast Pork rice plate, congee and Beef with soya sauce noodle.
google avatar

Philippe G.

Yelp
Menu made to have you order more than you need, beef stringy and elastic, chicken balls 30% chicken and the rest is fried stuff, not much stuff on what to drink, food medium at best...
google avatar

D W.

Yelp
I was soo happy to come across a slice of Hong Kong in Windsor. It's like finding home away from home. The interior is clean, attractive and modern. The food is good, especially the roast duck. I enjoyed the noodles in the wonton noodles (very authentic), although the wontons would have been better with lots of shrimp. I had an egg roll craving, and it came out as a big, fried monstrosity. It didn't taste bad per se, but is this how they make eggrolls in these parts? The service is welcoming, the meals are deals & I'd go back.
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
The BBQ duck and pork combo is gooooood. They drizzle some of this amazing sauce into the rice and there's some bok choi in it too but who cares, its the BBQ and sauce that makes it really good. When I find myself across the border, this place is a must.

Deanne N.

Yelp
Love this place, the owner and waitress are so nice and friendly. They remember what I like and dislike. My kids love going there because they always make them laugh and the food is awesomely gooood. I love their roasted pork and duck. My favourite is the soft shell crabs stir fry rice (not on the menu), bombing good.

David J.

Yelp
Don't like the food here, not fresh at all! There are many restaurant much better than this place in Windsor and Detroit, I'll never try again. Not recommend

Mike W.

Yelp
I agree with other comments here that the food is not fresh. We just ordered 3 dishes for take out and only 1 person was moderately satisfied with the food. 1 dish was flat out inedible. As others mention there are so many other good options in Windsor. Sorry Sun Hong but this was a first and last.

R S.

Yelp
Great atmosphere with great service! Loved their soy chicken, but roast duck was alright. We ordered the bean curd dish with vegetables, which was simply boring. The congee was also o.k. Simply lacked the intricacy of flavors. Funny enough, we thought the plain rice in this joint was one of the best we had in a Chinese restaurant in a long time. Would come back here again!

Julia N.

Yelp
Basic greasy food. Staff not friendly. Zero decore. We had a large party and they were not very eager to please. Cheap and lots of napkins and tea in tin pots.

J L.

Yelp
Would not recommend. They are criminals. I've ordered BBQ pork from them but they would always give less weight than what I ordered but charge me for the same amount. The food is not fresh too. Go elsewhere for your food.
