"A charming village on the Cumbria and North Yorkshire border plays host to this equally delightful pub; start your evening with a stroll along the river, then enjoy a local beer in the characterful stone-walled bar, before dinner in the smart restaurant. Lunch sees small plates and pub classics, while dinner steps up a gear with refined dishes which let the true flavours of the ingredients shine. Cosy bedrooms blend original features with modern furnishings." - Michelin Inspector
I can recommend this pub wholeheartedly. It's our home pub every holiday. Good beer, great and friendly staff, cosy pub, fireplace, darts, dogs welcome.

Friendly staff. Part of Yorkshire. Ale was good but seating could could do with updating. A proper pub!

They didn't seem to be keen to serve tourists on the evening of Father's Day. Neither was the atmosphere very welcoming, hence we left after just one pint

Old school dales inn. Friendly, cask beer, dining is a "takeaway menu". A great stop over for the Dales Way. Excellent full English.

One of the best pubs I've been in, especially with the log fire going.

Cracking traditional free house in the heart of a very nice village. It’s not easy to get to but it’s worth it. Really friendly behind the bar. About 5 ales on? One I had was lovely. Has 2 dart boards and 2 darts teams (Mr T plays for one of them) doesn’t do food but doesn’t miss it as beer is spot on and has character in abundance. Very highly recommended 🍻 🎯 🧛♂️ 😉
