Seattle’s New Restaurant Openings - Seattle - The Infatuation

"This local tofu company has opened a Vietnamese bakery and deli in Rainier Valley. At Sun Ta, there are plenty of soybean-based stuff for sale like crispy fried tofu and fresh soybean pudding, but it's not a vegetarian restaurant. Carnivores can still have proteins like grilled beef and pork meatballs, all packed inside bánh mì, noodle bowls, or rice plates." - Kayla Sager Riley

I love this bakery. The owner and servers are wonderful! They make some of the best Vietnamese sandwiches in Seattle and there are tasty appetizers too.

This is a casual Vietnamese to-go eatery. They do have two small tables out front where we ate our meal on the sunny afternoon. Every time we visit the Seattle area, I love going to this restaurant! My favorite is the lemon grass tofu with rice noodles. The portions are so large that we shared this meal, and didn’t have room to finish our sticky rice dessert. My only complaint is they give way too much jalapeño on the side. The lady serving us has a very strong accent, but was very patient trying to communicate with us. She was very helpful, and we will continue to patronize this place when we are in the area.

Room for improvement. The shop has plenty of unique baked goods and hot food. I ordered the pork belly noodles for lunch. The pork belly was not bad but the noodles were very plain making the dish fall flat. The place is very clean which I appreciate. It resembles the feel of Tony's bakery. There is also no seating so it's best for takeaway.

Normally this is my go to for Bahn Mi when I’m in the area but this time I felt the portion for the protein/meats was super skimpy for the combo bahn mi. Made me sad I had more veggies and bread than protein….

I am trying to reduce my single-use plastic footprint. This is challenging to do, even MORE challenging if you’re a vegan that loves tofu! I have been looking, unsuccessfully, for a place I could purchase tofu using my own clean container.… until today! Van At Sun Ta tofu filled my own personal container with the tofu of my choice! Now I can buy delicious tofu and reduce single use plastic waste. Van was enthusiastic about my endeavor, and was delightfully cheerful. The restaurant is clean and has many delicious options. If you are an earth, conscious lover of tofu, this is your place! If you bring your own clean container, Van will fill it up for you! She is a delight!

They share the same owner as Thanh Son, so the products are identical in quality and price, but the overall experience at Sunta is so much better. The location feels safer, parking is much easier, and that alone makes a big difference when visiting. What really sets Sunta apart, though, is the service. The staff here are genuinely friendly and helpful, and the manager in particular is outstanding. She is warm, attentive, and goes out of her way to make customers feel welcome. Honestly, her kindness alone is enough reason for me to switch. After dealing with rude service at Thanh Son, it’s refreshing to finally have the same great tofu products without the stress.

The most delicious bahn mi I have ever had! Fresh bread, lots of charcoal pork and vegetables. We did take out. Highly recommend!
