Sundae Best Review - Avalon - Jersey Shore - The Infatuation

"If the Shore is the land of soft serve, Sundae Best makes a strong case for hand-dipped ice cream. Everything here is made in-house, and because the shop is so popular, they’re churning out fresh ice cream daily. There are two locations: one in town and another on the boardwalk, both with outdoor seating. The menu is updated frequently, and ranges from classics to varieties like key lime pie and chocolate-covered banana. Keep an eye out for flavors starring treats from Kohler’s Bakery, like Cream Donut or Blueberry Crumb." - Regan Stephens

I stopped here on a road trip. The ice cream was delicious. The service was great. I would definitely recommend this place. I would definitely return if I was ever in the area. I really enjoyed this homemade style ice cream. The deli attached to this is very good as well.

Very expensive. I paid $7.60 for 2 baby (1 scoop) cones. I made the mistake of ordering a baby maple walnut. I can’t believe she served me a sloppy half-melted one with maple syrup slopping over the sides. By the time I got to the car it had dropped onto my clothes. I threw it right out. Not going back there!

Very very expensive! Ordered 4 medium waffle cone and the cones were barely filled with ice cream! Won’t be back!

Love, love, love their maple walnut ice cream!! I took my 2 grandsons, and they loved theirs too. The small cones were way big enough!

Employee handled money then served me my ice cream without wearing gloves. When I asked if they could wear gloves and make me another cone, owner was very, very rude.

Always a value. Nice selections, and good serving sizes. Homemade hard ice cream with interesting choices. Always a repeat visitor here!

Yelp
Business is under new ownership. Used to be great.. No longer Frydays Best. Is now East Ave. Deli. Ordered fried fish dinner and two subs. Fish was dry and almost inedible in part. Fries were limp and soggy. Tartar sauce was warm and tasted off. Cole slaw was chalky and tasted like it was not fresh. Subs were OK but not great for $10 a piece. Value for the price was pathetic. Almost $40 for mediocre food. For MUCH betters subs/sandwiches go to Wegmans or even Byrnsie's (Inside Byrne Dairy). For MUCH better fish dinner, go to Eddie's in Sylvan Beach (bit of a drive but always worth it) or even Good Gollys. Will not be back again.

Yelp
Small busy place. Awesome onion rings. Love most of what they have to offer. Always something unique on the menu.

Yelp
Fish is good but sides are skimpy given the price. Real stingy on the tartar sauce as well. Each little cup filled half way. Coleslaw nothing to write home about.

Yelp
Finally stopped here for lunch. Been driving by for 3 years. The fish sandwich was alright, just not very appetizing. Bun was soggy. fish was meh...definitely nothing to write home about. The side of macaroni and cheese left much to be desired. Overall I was disappointed in my $10 lunch!! Never again.
