"Sundance Resort is located in the north fork of Provo Canyon, against the stunning backdrop of 12,000-foot Mount Timpanogos. In the 2022/23 season, the resort opened 40 new acres of terrain and ten new runs. It was part of the ski trip covering all of Utah's resorts in a day." - Tim Neville

"For over 50 years, Robert Redford’s Sundance Resort in Utah has been a prominent incubator for achievements in cinema, culture, and conservation. The lodging and skiing are pretty swell too. Sundance Resort, a ski resort that’s focused on art, community, and the environment at least as much as it’s focused on skiing. The resort offers eight dining options, freestanding cabins with luxury linens and barbecue grills, and various amenities such as hot tubs and fireplaces. Accommodations range from the Standard to the larger Mountain Lofts and Mountain Homes, with names like Hawk’s Nest, Dream Catcher, and Owl Spirit. The Sundance Art Gallery at the resort features exhibits and workshops, and the Glassblower Studio showcases artists transforming discarded glass into art pieces. The resort has an authentically Western feel, with a restored 1890s bar relocated from Wyoming, and it still hosts screenings and kicks off the international film festival event with a Director’s Brunch." - Mitchell Friedman

"Yes, we're talking about that Sundance. To many, this is just another aspect of the multi-faceted house that Robert Redford built, and the fact that it’s a first-class ski getaway is almost secondary." - Mitchell Friedman

Beautiful location with nice hiking nearby. With the current construction taking up large portions of the lower parking lot, parking is a bit of a challenge, but the shuttle bus runs regularly. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are nice and rustic. The bed comfort was just OK… A bit saggy. The new pools are amazing, with multiple choices for the temperature of water you like to hang out in.

This place is amazing, gorgeous area. All of the workers are very nice and helpful, the service taking you to your cabin is so helpful. The new pool is beautiful and all the things that there are to do up there makes this place worth it. we've been coming here for years now, it is fun to see all of the efforts being made recently to make this place more amazing. My only complaint has always been that some of the cabins need some TLC to make them more comfortable.

Disappointing scenic lift experience. I’ve been here twice now to try to do the scenic lift to the top, and I live over an hour away. The first time, the lifts got shut down for thunderstorms in the area, which I get it, is not within their control. I came back a second time, we made it to the bottom of the third lift up to the top, only for their to be a maintenance issue and they say it’s going to be hours for a repair, and the lift is scheduled to stop loading for the day in 2.5 hours anyways, so now we have to wait to get back to the bottom. Customer service at the ticket office was only able to offer a rain check, for this season, which ended the very next day. I don’t really have the time to drive multiple hours round trip again the next day to use that rain check. They should have at least been able to provide a rain check for next season, or a gift card/discount of what the tickets cost to put towards food, ski tickets, or lift tickets next summer. As is, I don’t really have any desire to come back because of my multiple disappointing experiences here. Had they given me a rain check or gift card I could actually have made use of, I would have come back in the future and spent more money here. But for now, I’ll be spending my money elsewhere

We’ve been coming to Sundance for about twenty years, so are longstanding fans. It’s a beautiful place. There are things I liked better before the recent changes. I know there has to be progress but this time it appears a new accommodation building is being put up and the place is becoming more mainstream. I was surprised at the price of a day lift pass for two of us up the mountain - $60 for people who were already staying in a mountain suite for five nights. The suite itself is still lovely but getting a little tired and some of the attractive furnishings have been removed - rugs and pictures and so on. There were marks from old pictures on the walls and the wood is becoming a bit shabby. Some windows don’t fit very well or the insect screens aren’t intact. However everyone is very nice and tries to help. For somewhere which claims to be eco friendly and in tune with nature, I’m surprised you don’t provide recycling bins in the cabins any more. This is something you used to do as recently as 2019. Another change is air conditioning which also used to be considered not in tune with the eco nature of the resort, but I suppose modern clients demand it.||So generally still a very good stay and I’m sure we’ll be back, even if it’s not quite so magical as it used to be before the zip line and other “improvements”.

Enjoyed a lovely day at Sundance Resort! Starting with a pottery class with Tim at the Art Gallery. My husband and I enjoyed a date day on the pottery wheel, creating a couple lovely pieces, followed by an outdoor lunch at the restaurant. The pottery class was excellent. Tim was an incredible teacher, and we are stoked about the experience, we can't wait to get our final products! Lunch was lovely, Jenny was an excellent server, and the fries were insane. Thank you for an incredible experience, we'll be back!

My family organized a 25-person reunion over Labor Day weekend at Sundance and I have only great things to say. The facility is amazing and the setting beautiful. I want to particularly call out the service - every staff member with whom I interacted was unfailingly polite and helpful. I especially want to compliment Kelly with the front desk staff, who went above and beyond helping me manage my individual booking details. A wonderful place to visit.

This was a fun night out though it was extremely crowded. We were there to do a zip line, full moon tour. Others were there to simply ride the lift. Those just riding the lift had a 2 hour wait regardless of prepaying for their tickets. Those riding the zip line were luckier and were able to bypass the line. We’ve zip lined several times and honestly this was a very high price tag for what you actually get. Though the moon is always cool to see, the event missed the actual full moon by three days so I’m not sure why they call it a full moon tour? All of the workers were very kind and helpful and Sundance is undoubtedly a beautiful place though you can’t see much of the scenery at night. Overall, I wouldn’t do this particular zip tour again at just under 200.00 for the pair of us. IF I had the time to wait in line 2 hours, I could see the lift ride, which has a lower price tag, being a good date night. Make sure to get at the resort at least 30-40 min early as you will be directed to park very far away and then must wait to be shuttled to where you need to be.

We loved our stay at Sundance. Such a beautiful place. Checking Into our room was a bit of a fiasco, but ultimately not a big deal. Would be nice to just be able to get keys rather than have to be escorted to the room.
