What It's Like to Ski All 15 of Utah's Ski Resorts in One Day

"Sundance Resort is located in the north fork of Provo Canyon, against the stunning backdrop of 12,000-foot Mount Timpanogos. In the 2022/23 season, the resort opened 40 new acres of terrain and ten new runs. It was part of the ski trip covering all of Utah's resorts in a day." - Tim Neville

Robert Redford's Ski Resort is So Much More

"For over 50 years, Robert Redford’s Sundance Resort in Utah has been a prominent incubator for achievements in cinema, culture, and conservation. The lodging and skiing are pretty swell too. Sundance Resort, a ski resort that’s focused on art, community, and the environment at least as much as it’s focused on skiing. The resort offers eight dining options, freestanding cabins with luxury linens and barbecue grills, and various amenities such as hot tubs and fireplaces. Accommodations range from the Standard to the larger Mountain Lofts and Mountain Homes, with names like Hawk’s Nest, Dream Catcher, and Owl Spirit. The Sundance Art Gallery at the resort features exhibits and workshops, and the Glassblower Studio showcases artists transforming discarded glass into art pieces. The resort has an authentically Western feel, with a restored 1890s bar relocated from Wyoming, and it still hosts screenings and kicks off the international film festival event with a Director’s Brunch." - Mitchell Friedman

12 Hotels for a Zen Start to 2023

Avoid Sundance unless you want a parking ticket for parking in the parking lot! We enjoyed our brunch but apparently spending over $300 on brunch and gifts for 5 isn’t enough to cover any parking costs. We were very disappointed to find that we’d been issued a parking violation by the resort for parking in a prohibited area, however, Sundance had failed to put up any signs or markings that would designate not being able to park there. Even though Security was able to issue the citation, we were unable to talk with anyone at the resort because the “parking department” wasn’t there on the same day we were issued a parking citation. The only way to pay or dispute any parking violations is exclusively through their website, which doesn’t work properly and makes the dispute process difficult all in hopes you’ll just pay the fine (of $75.) It’s evident Sundance is preying on people to just pay the fine rather than giving a fair chance to even talk to a human at the resort about the ticket. After this experience we will not coming back to Sundance. It’s quicker to park at peak times in other ski resorts in Park City than it is right now in the summer, and you get the added benefit of not getting a ticket. Parking is easier at other resorts, and valet parking at other ski resorts in Utah costs less than a ticket at Sundance. We spent over 15 minutes trying to park, and even tried to give Sundance more money by spending $20 for valet parking but nobody ever came to valet our car. Other reviews mention these same bogus tickets, and in those reviews Sundance has even admitted about lack of signage and markings yet refuses to make it right. It’s disappointing that four months after another review that mentions this same issue nothing has been done about this issue, and it’s clear Sundance expects guests to pay bogus parking fines to spend a day at their (expensive) resort.

I’ve been wanting to ride the scenic lift for years, and I finally had the chance to do it with my dad. It was opening weekend, and we were both excited! Since my dad is senior who is visually impaired, I was a little anxious about getting on and off the lifts safely. But let me tell you, the staff here are incredibly accommodating. They walked me through how to signal to the lift operators if we needed them to slow down or stop the lift entirely. That simple guidance eased all my anxiety and allowed us to just enjoy the experience. Every staff member we encountered had an amazing attitude—warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy we were there. They made sure I understood the hand signals before moving on to the next lift, which I really appreciated. We were told multiple times, “Thanks for coming” and “Glad to have you here,” and every word felt sincere. This visit couldn’t have gone better. Thank you for helping my dad and me create such a special, unforgettable day. It’s a core memory I’ll cherish forever. 1000000% recommend!

It was really amazing. From the point we checked in until we checked out, everything was really good. The view from the resort was marvelous. My kids loved biking up the mountain. It was a total package. Will be back next summer to make new memories.

Google
I really stopped at Sundance and to Stewart Falks. Access trail to the top was not available, so I hopped in the chair lift and headed down the trail. Word of warning...the trail down to the falls is not easy. Rocks, tree roots requires you to pay attention to every step. Some steep drop offs adjacent to the trail as you descend. But Stewart Falls is stunning.

Love this place! It’s one of my favorite places to stay. The food is great, service is wonderful and it’s so beautiful!||We had yummy fish tacos, sitting on the outdoor patio. We spent time in the hot springs and sauna which was so relaxing and finished the day with a nightcap at the owl bar.||Highly recommended!

Google
We arrived at the resort at purchased summer lift tickets using a QR code right beside the lift. The lifts we were hoping to use was marked at open on the chalkboard where the QR code was placed. However, upon reaching the top of just the first short lift we were told everything was closing for the day. None of the signage or staff communicated to us that things were about to close and had already closed. Even the lift staff should have heard us talking about how to buy tickets when we were doing it right beside them, and they didn’t say anything. Sundance needs to improve their signage near these lifts to ensure guests are aware of how long they can actually use their lift ticket and when these lifts close. We would not have purchased and came another day if these closing times were more obvious. The Google listing can also have information for when the lifts close

We always loved Sundance. But this time we decided to stay at Sundance resort for our special weekend. We are profoundly appreciate extraordinary staff and crews welcoming us with beautiful smile and care. At the check in desk, we received detailed information of the resort with heartfelt welcome, then a friendly crew escorted us to the accommodation. She walked through everything. The Mountain view accommodation was priceless. Beauty of Sundance provided us peace and uplifting atmosphere. We definately will comeback here to enjoy nature and great service year after year. Thanks again for keeping this resort as a heart-warming and peaceful place.

Google
Rooms are tricky to find the right one. Make sure the bellmen shows you exactly where your room will be. Horrible rooms, make sure you don’t get stuck in a room under someone else’s room. Sounds like an elephant walking around in the room above. Also the shower was broke, could not use it. We had to use the showers at the pool house. Way overpriced for what you have to deal with. I’ve said in two star hotels better than this place.

Yelp
Beautiful lift ride in the summer! So green! Resort is getting busier... parking is hard, and the resort feels smaller. I hope they can make accommodations for larger stores, restaurants, etc. with the new expansions of lodging. Property is well maintained, clean, and beautiful.

Yelp
We came to Sundance for lunch, expecting a nice experience in the mountains. The setting is beautiful, though much of it is currently under construction, which takes away from the charm. The food? Adequate at best--definitely overpriced for what it is. But none of that really matters, because what we'll remember most about this visit is the blatantly deceptive parking situation. After paying for an expensive, underwhelming meal, we returned to our car only to find a parking violation waiting for us. There were no clear signs indicating that this was a paid lot--no obvious pay stations, no markings on the parking spots, nothing that a reasonable person would see and immediately recognize as a pay-to-park situation. Apparently, we weren't the only ones fooled--the car parked next to us had a ticket as well. When we spoke with a supervisor, they admitted they've had this issue before. The supervisor even tried to justify it by saying the sign was "as big as my chest"--as if reading fine print on someone's T-shirt while driving by is a reasonable expectation! If multiple people are getting ticketed daily, maybe--just maybe--the signage isn't clear enough? Of course, that's the whole point. Instead of making it clear and easy for visitors to pay, they'd rather make money by ticketing unsuspecting tourists. This shady parking policy ruined what should have been a nice day. Instead of feeling like valued guests, we felt tricked and scammed. If you're coming to Sundance, be prepared to either overpay for parking or overpay for a meal or both. We won't be back.

Yelp
If you're looking for a fun fall activity, I highly recommend the chairlift rides here! It's $27 for adults and $25 for kids. The lifts are open from 10-5 through the first week of October. They also have Halloween full moon lift rides! It was beautiful views all around up the chairlift. We parked up at the top parking lot and they had a shuttle down to the resort/chairlifts. We didn't have to wait long for the shuttle. You could also I love coming here - I've skied here, gone to the Tree Room, the Owl Bar. It's beautiful, and I love taking friends and guests here

Yelp
The Chairlift rides looked like a real treat - and by all appearances look like a fun weekend to-do for the family. Unfortunately - deceptive mass marketing and copious instagram and TikTok addicted individuals are all in on making this gem more of a scuffed rock. I'd encourage anyone NOT TO GO ON THE WEEKEND. I have never seen a line this long, and this is not some turn of phrase or angry tirade wherein I take refuge in the ridiculous to make my point - this long was gargantuan. I attached some photos here from the base of where the ski-lift was so you can see the first stretch, but that was about 1/3 of the visible line to ride the chairlifts. We got there at around 7:30-7:45 - and to Sundance's benefit they do say it can be busy on the weekends, but on the actual ticketing system built into Sundance's website, there is an allotment of tickets available for purchase. "Once they're gone ~ they're gone!!" Some simple arithmetic allows us to take a peek at the metaphorical Wizard of Oz in all of it's greedy glory. Given the hours of operation (7pm-10pm) and given that each ride takes 30-45 minutes, and lastly assuming they sell 1000 tickets through the site for a given day - their figures for the amount of tickets is ludicrously generous. There's a reason why there will be no refunds - there's no possible way for more than 100-300 people to ride the lift during that 2:30 - 3 hr period of time which the lift operates. We finally threw in the towel at 8:30 after waiting in the unmoving line for around 20-30 minutes, we spoke with a couple near the restroom who has arrived earlier than the opening time at 6:30. They did not expect to make the ski-lift ride before it was set to close having waited 2 hours already. When they described where in the line their places were being held - having squandered 2 hours of their night had not even yielded them to be within sight of that final stretch. If you are dead set on going - be sure to do what all the kids do; send someone super early in the day and just cut in with them when you're ready. It pays to know people here in Utah.

Yelp
My husband, baby and I visited Sundance in March and had a wonderful weekend! We had booked one of the more affordable rooms that were offered and still had a wonderful wood fire place, kitchenette, king sized bed, and patio. The pool & sauna were open and were wonderful to relax in while the snow fell, and the complimentary chauffeur service was a lifesaver with how snowy it was. My husband spent one day snowboarding and loved the hills, and I relaxed at the spa, which was nice. The restaurant was also delicious and had an expensive cabin feel. I also joined the yoga class one morning and it was everything that I had hoped for. If you are considering this location, just book it! It was worth every penny and we will definitely be back.

Yelp
This review is for the ski lift. It was incredible!! I was not expecting to be able to do on three different lifts to get to the top. It's a little scary if you're afraid of heights but it is so worth it. Wear sun screen and prepare for high winds. As you pass through different altitudes the wind can change quickly. Workers are nice and informative. If you have purchased tickets online you walk right up and show them. Park at the top of the hill and get off at the second shuttle stop. The cafe at the top is so cute and the scenery is incredible. Can't wait to come back!

David L.

Yelp
Not refundable lift tickets. Really? My son bought a night snowboarding pass before checking for permission whether he could go. We told him to get his money back well before the night he was supposed to go. Turns out, Sundance has a no refund policy. Tough lesson for the kid to learn. Worse policy for the resort to have. Now, when he is able to go, we will make sure it is NOT to Sundance.

Yelp
The Scenic Summer Ski Lift was the best part of this resort. It was actually worth what we paid. The lift took us to the top of the mountain the the Bearclaw restaurant. The lift itself took a little more than an hour round trip. The view was beautiful and even better on the way down. Only three stars because the other parts of the resort are definitely overpriced.

Yelp
Expensive! Expect everything to be expensive because it's Sundance. 3-4 different restaurants on the premises. There's a zip line. Ski lift. Hiking bikes, trails, and shops. There's a shop for mountain climbing. Fairly family friendly. Very nicely built lodge for anyone that is staying in the lodge. Fair amount of parking. Call ahead to make reservations or expect an hour wait. There's a deli for quicker eating. BBQ restaurant upstairs in the main lodge (casual). The Foundry was fairly casual for brunch but dinner is probably a little more fancy. There's another restaurant that's outside dining only. Would visit again. The Forest surrounding Sundance is beautiful. There were young butterflies flitting around everywhere. The thin creek ran throughout the premises. It was very serene. Robert Redford, when he eats at the Foundry, likes to eat in the fireplace room, in the far most left table in the corner. Neat! It was a cosy room. Food was delicious and pricey $$$$$.

Yelp
The mountain views from the top of the slopes is stunning. My son had wonderful snowboarding lessons and learned so much. I had a fabulous snowboarding lesson and a good ski lesson. (I disliked one of my ski instructors and insisted on switching instructors. I am so happy I did.) We had fresh powder and an almost empty mountain. It was amazing! Our cabin was spacious with a full kitchen and three patios overlooking trees and snow. It had multiple heaters. I liked our cabin, but the outside heater unit was very noisy and the tp and Kleenex were very abrasive. The nice touches that came with the room (including a cheese plate) are thoughtful. Acura SUVs shuttle you from place to place as nothing is connected at the resort. Overall this is an efficient service. One time they must have forgotten about us, and we wound up walking after 30 minutes of waiting and not being able to get through to the front desk. All of the drivers were very friendly. Our luggage took 75 minutes to deliver while my 10 year old was miserable waiting for our snow gear to be delivered, so he could play. I called over and over again for 30 minutes before someone picked up the phone. I told him we had been waiting for 1 hour (at that point) for our luggage. It turns out they sent our luggage with other guests. I was highly annoyed by this and felt the front desk person did not handle the situation well--he seemed annoyed at me instead of apologetic for sending our suitcases with the wrong party. That entire situation was handled poorly and the staff need to be retrained to avoid suitcase mixups and to handle situations when mistakes do occur---for instance, sending up cookies as an apology. My deep tissue massage at the spa was very pleasant though pricey. It was around $230 including a tip. The foot soak prior to the massage was relaxing, and the staff is very friendly. The Foundry Grill has good food. We ate there for most meals, and it was solid. The seasoned French fries are super yummy. We all favored the fries over all of the other dishes. The only dish to avoid is the shrimp tacos. (I would skip the seafood since I also did not like my miso cod.) The campfire cookie is the better dessert over the sticky toffee pudding. We had a wonderful trip and would come here again.

Yelp
Great mountain resort that still feels true to ITs intimate small 60's vibe. The summer theater. Myb bikjng,, and restaurants are worth your visit.
google avatar

Elle M.

Yelp
Perfect place to take guests in summer for hikes, full moon lift rides, and bluebird cafe concerts. Perfect in winter for skiing, snowshoeing or cross countryskiing. Perfect year round for live music in the owl bar or a special occasion meal in the Tree Room. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect.
google avatar

Yelp
Gorgeous place!! But very very busy. Check in was easy. Living space was huge. We got the cabin with a lift. However there is only one bathroom and it is through the bed room so that make it inconvenient. We took the ski lift ride for $17 per person and it was worth it. It was almost an hour ride for round trip. View was beautiful in early October. I would love to come back and do some hiking and zip lining.
google avatar

Patti A.

Yelp
The Staff were wonderful and attentive from ticket sales, ski rentals, lift operations, ski patrol and the ski school. I would just say if you are new to snow boarding MAKE SURE YOU BRING WITH YOU THE SNOW GLOVES WITH WRIST GUARDS IN THEM and stay on the beginner slope away from the ice. As an intermediate skier I was surprised at some of the narrow and steep runs that are shared with snow boarders. Overall, I would say this resort isn't for beginners.
google avatar

Renee L.

Yelp
Came here to eat but we didn't have reservations so ended up getting a snack at The Owl Bar. There's also two other main restaurants. One with a younger vibe and the one all the way in the back that felt more mature and fancy. There's also a deli that has sandwiches, ice cream, beers and one had seltzer that you can take and walk around outside with. Would love to come back during the winter or the film festival time.

Donald T.

Yelp
they raises there prices to almost double for the worst place to board in Utah spend that money at any other resort staff is a joke whole place could be better but the owners don't care and just keep hiking prices
google avatar

Suzie M.

Yelp
In regards to their outdoor theater: It was a gorgeous view all around! We were there for opening night of Footloose, and it poured on us! Thankfully the performance still went on! They had to stop part-way through to see if it would stop raining a bit, and it did, but they had to cut a few songs and scenes; unfortunately they cut "Let's hear it for the boy" and I wish they would have added the 5 minutes to do that song because it is iconic with Footloose. The performers and stage crew were amazing and I'd love to come back when it's not a downpour. I went with my Mother-in-law who has a cane and needs assistance walking and this location is not very ADA/handicapped friendly. So if you have those who are less mobile, be aware of those hardships. It would be nice if they were able to make it more handicap accessible, but I understand that it is a theater built into a mountainside.
google avatar

John J.

Yelp
It's interesting that a response from the resort referenced other food options that I "could" have enjoyed. Considering all of them were closed I would really be interested in "how" I could have tried those options. This resort is still a horrible experience and a waste of money. There are better options available
google avatar

Ry H.

Yelp
The Full Moon Lift Ride was a disaster. We've been standing in line for well over an hour (arriving close to the start) and this line is progressing at a shockingly inefficient speed for the number of times Sundance has done this event. Sundance doesn't care if they sell too many tickets to the 8:30 - 11:00 event, nor do they care how long guests have to wait to get on the lift. I even had entire groups cutting the line. It was mayhem. The lift was then closed for over 45 minutes as lightning was spotted. They then just decided to completely shutdown the lift and call it a night, keeping us in line without much communication. Memorable date night, for sure.
google avatar

Yelp
Great quick escape up the canyon. I love walking the paths and soaking in the mountains. Food choices are great and Christmas decor is already in full effect everywhere. The gift shop has lots of jewelry, Sundance sweatshirts, bags, mugs and toys. Such a great place to hangout and relax.

Hayley W.

Yelp
The incompetency and horrific customer service added so much stress to our wedding day. We spent a lot of time and effort creating Welcome Baskets, which included bottles of nice champagne, for our guests. Sundance charged us a fee per basket for delivery to each cabin and then DID NOT DELIVER BASKETS TO SEVERAL GUESTS! The Sundance Resort gave my wedding planner and vendors incorrect addresses, which caused them to be lost as well as late to important parts of our events. The transportation provided by the resort would just not show up even after confirming they were coming to pick up guests. When we could get a hold of transportation they would drop guests off at random locations again causing them to be lost. My husband and I were dropped off at 3:00am on the night of our wedding without being shown where our room was despite asking several times where it was located before our event began. We spent $12k alone on large cabins that were not ready for our wedding party guests by their "guaranteed" 4 pm check in time. The owner of one of the cabins showed up unannounced to do repairs on the cabins where my bridesmaids and I were in the middle of getting ready. Thank god none of us were naked. Our wedding planner turned in items left behind to the front desk staff. When I went too retrieve said items the staff said they had no idea what we were talking about. Thankfully, I had a picture of the items with the front desk in the background to show them. Still, the iPhone and jewelry were not recovered. The resort is gorgeous, that is not debatable. However, there are so many stunning places in Utah to get married at. It is my honest advice that you take your hard earned money elsewhere and spend it at a venue that appreciates your business.

Brit L.

Yelp
Parking was a complete mess and had to pay $22 which set the tone for the day. I was stewing on the parking fee while waiting for the shuttle for way too long. Then the snow was really heavy and the mountain is small. Some employees were also surprisingly rude, so I packed up and left at 1 pm, never to return, I thought. But I did anyway, because I'm stupid. recently went back and found the same problems in late September, though they at least weren't charging the parking fee this time. The Deli was atrocious (separate review on that), and it felt more like a crowded shopping center than a place for relaxation.

Kay C.

Yelp
Brenda the concierge was very unwelcoming. Didn't glance up from her computer to welcome us at the reception office. Then she forgot to make our dinner reservation for the next evening and we were left without a table until guests were finished eating and there could squeeze us in. You need a new concierge. The price one pays, one should not have to deal with that incompetence
google avatar

Stacy H.

Yelp
Love this place. Thank you Robert Redford for creating this ski gem. We hit it on a powder day. Nice groomers plus some really challenging terrain. Don't ski or ride? How about ski biking, jewelry making or another art class or zip lining? Lunch at creek side, the foundry or the deli for all your food needs. You must apres ski at the famous Owl Bar.
google avatar

Zacharias P.

Yelp
Always a wonderful time at Sundance. Just a few days ago we went to the Bluebird Cafe concert in the outdoor theatre. Spectacular location on the mountain to listen to some good Nashville music. The BBQ served beforehand was also very tasty with lots of food choices and served buffet style. Great atmosphere. Ski lift at Sundance is a little slow and outdated, but looks like that will be changing soon. Views from the top are spectacular. Skiing in the winter in top notch.

Randy C.

Yelp
This resort was a mixed bag: the scenery, restaurants, and overall vibe were amazing; the service was generally fantastic; BUT...the mattress and pillows in our room were terrible (2 nights of tossing and turning), and the front desk clerk was completely unbothered by the dead mouse we came across in our room (one that had clearly been there for several days). I get that rodents are inevitable in the woods, but to leave sticky traps out and NOT CHECK THEM in guest areas is truly shocking. The clerk just took a note and didn't even apologize, and it honestly kind of soured our overall I was charged after checkout for a "match holder" that was apparently missing from my room (though I don't know what exactly one is and I'm certain wasn't removed by me or my husband). I contacted Kurt Berman, Vice President of Hospitality, but his response was lackluster. Refunding money you had no business charging is not resolution; neither is training your hospitality staff on how not to alienate your customers. I will not be returning to Sundance.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
One of the smaller and better ski resorts in Utah. Snow was great and the people were friendly and helpful.

Tabitha B.

Yelp
The Bluebird concert series and dinner was awesome. The music and food made for a perfect evening. We'll definitely do this again. Some of the younger staff at Sundance were not professional in their comments or interactions with guests. They seemed apathetic and uninterested. That was the only unpleasant part the experience.

Warren E.

Yelp
Came in to ski on Sunday early around 8:45 am in the upper parking lot and walk over to the ticket window to purchase a lift ticket for the day and the window was closed with a line of people waiting to buy tickets we finally asked an employee what's going on and told to catch a shuttle to the base lodge with no direction on where to catch the shuttle. They had 3 people at the ticket window but could not move one employee to the upper ticket window to help the crowds in the upper parking lot?

Christian C.

Yelp
Amazing Experience!! I couldn't have asked for a better day of skiing and being on the mountain. My favorite runs were probably Bishop's Bowl and HONEY BUTTER. The snow was immaculate!! Snow conditions were soft and fluffy but thick enough to turn quick and keep leverage. The mountain was not crowded at all. Sundance has a good mixture of skiing from beginner to advanced! I enjoyed the terrain park as well with solid small and medium features. I was surprised how spacious the mountain is once you get to the top of the Outlaw lift. I would say Red's lift is probably the best lift in my opinion. The resort has lots of great little runs and cat tracks for the little ones. I would recommend to anyone!!

Yelp
Horrid braking sysyem Concousion Shoulder surgery! Make sure your harness is high enough to reach the btake bar!

Yelp
Sundance is one of my favorite places to hike/ski in Utah! My grandma and I went this summer for a quick day hike and Sundance, as usual, did not disappoint. We took the lift all the way up admiring the views on the way. At the top we stopped for lunch - nachos and a chocolate chip cookie. Views can't get any better than this! Only downfall, the halfway stopping point of the lift wasn't open so we took the lift down because it was too much for us to hike.
google avatar

Minal K.

Yelp
The reason I'm providing 4 stars (and not less) is because some of the staff provided great service (including the bell men). We loved the atmosphere and the walking grounds, but the experience was overall a bit underwhelming. Our fireplace didn't come up with proper matchsticks so we had to call housekeeping twice to help us get a fire started. The room's AC was broken - so we didn't have consistent heat - in almost subzero temperatures, which was very uncomfortable. Showers also did not have consistent heat - ran out of hot water twice while trying to give my baby a bath even after housekeeping "fixed" the issue. Food at the Foundry Grill was decent, but not great. For a 4-5 star hotel, had hoped the overall experience would be better.
google avatar

Paige B.

Yelp
Sundance completely ruined our entire wedding experience. The customer experience was horrendous, unorganized, and stressful. They will provide you an estimate upfront for "everything" but about 2 weeks prior to your wedding they will send you an outrageous bill (see attached). They charged us for items that were included in our package. After all of these charges, they withheld items from us that we paid for! They made us prepay for the bar, which they charged us 7 drinks per person for 5 hours! I had to get the general manager involved to go through our original contract. They sent us a wedding package PDF - ignore it because they told me that it isn't real and none of that pricing actually is right (they up charged us A LOT!). They added extra tax categories - we paid over $5,000 in just taxes and their "service charge". They still tried to charge us for service (again see attached). When we arrived at the property, they had a COVID outbreak so none of the rooms were ready because 7 out of the 10 housekeepers were out sick or had to quarantine. They put us in a room that sat in a parking lot. It is our wedding weekend and they stuck us in a parking lot!! My mother's cabin was a disaster and the fridge did not work. They stuck a mini fridge in the middle of their room. My husband's family cabin had locks all through the kitchen so they could not use dish ware or pots/pans or even the pantry to put food away. They called Sundance and essentially were told to pound sand. Overall, we had such a negative, disheartening experience with Sundance and are extremely frustrated. Please take my advice and do not get married here. It is not worth your energy or money.

Yelp
This review is is for the Sundance Mountain Resort Ski School. This was my first time skiing, so I booked a lesson. I was put into a group with two other students who also had never skied before. I was doing reasonably well the first hour of the class, but as I started to get tired I started to make mistakes. That's when our instructor, Scott, became impatient and irritable. Every time I made a mistake, he would make rude and sarcastic comments like, "Oh come on!", "What are you doing?!", "Why would you do that?!", and so on. When wearing skiis, it's difficult to get up after falling, but Scott only occassionally offered to help and he was visibly irritated by having to do so. The first two hours of the class, we stuck to the bunny slopes, but Scott wanted us to increase the difficulty and go to the actual ski lift. I was completely exhausted and I wasn't ready to increase the difficulty - I needed more practice. Scott starting yelling "HURRY UP!" at me and when I tried to go faster, I fell and pulled a muscle. He came over and said something like "What's going on with you? Do you want to go on the lift or do want to call it quits?" I told him I'll call it quits and he replied, "REALLY? You REALLY want to call it quits?!" After much goading, I agreed to go on the lift. Getting off the lift is a little tricky for beginners because you have to stand up and start skiiing down hill at the right time. I was doing fine, but one of the other students crashed into me, dragging me down with him. He managed to crawl away but I was struggling to get up. Then the ski lift chair hit me in the back of the head, causing me to fall over again. The lift chair probably weighs a good 200 lbs, so it hurt! The lift operator is supposed to stop the lift when someone falls, but he didn't. I was trapped laying on my back as chair after chair passed over me. It took a long time before instructor noticed me and had them stop the lift so I could safely get back up. The lift operator at least apologized, but Scott didn't show any sympathy. He only had three students and yet it took a long time for him to notice I was in trouble. Wisely, Scott told me to go slowly down the mountain with him there to help me slow down in case I lose control. But the whole time, he was yelling at me. I made it down the mountain finally but what should have been a fun and informative ski class was discouraging and stressful. I don't recommend booking a ski class here.

Yelp
This resort exceeded our every expectation. We came here for our honeymoon and couldn't have been more pleased! The entire resort is made up of quaint cabins with live burning fireplaces! Make sure you request that your room has a fireplace. We used ours every night of our stay. The food was great, the service was excellent and the views were beyond breathtaking. I'm already dying to return!!!

Yelp
Sundance Mountain Resort is in the midst of a renovation when I went of for the day. even with all the construction in progress. It appears they're adding a new chairlift and renovating their dining area. At the weather was decent enough for a food truck picnic. I would recommend this resort for a day trip especially to check out the fall foliage.

Yelp
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS RESORT TO ANYONE! In our room we had dirty sock left behind. COVID issue A wet used dirty wash cloth over the shower. COVID issue The TV never worked even after someone came to our room to fix it for 45min. Calvin may be the most condescending and rude human I have ever met in the service industry and I only talked to him for a few minutes. The 2 employees at the deli seemed miserable. ( I would be too if I had to work there) and couldn't seem to remember our order even though no one else was around. I felt unsafe and unwelcomed at Sundance.

Yelp
Amazing. Wonder. Estate. Fool. Zip. A bone fide Utah treasure. Ski, eat, zip, hike bike, play, film, photo, seclude, amaze, revel, drink, look, see, live, enjoy. One of Utah's smaller resorts, but don't let that fool you. Great runs on amazing property. The people that work and live here love being here, and it shows in how you'll be treated. Careful! You'll never want to leave, and will find yourself wondering about real estate prices on day one. Plan a day or two minimum to soak in the vibe.

Yelp
The place. The myth. The legend. I cannot believe I had the opportunity to set foot here. First of all -- it's B-E-A-U-tiful. Oh my gosh, the winding river you can hear everywhere you go, the gift shop had so many things I wanted to buy and the bar was completely vacant. It was literally just my mother and I. Prices were a bit steep, but it is a resort, after all. We sipped our wine and took in everything Sundance had to offer. Everyone was all smiles and friendly. This place is basically paradise.

Yelp
Sundance is a beautiful resort, but for 4-star hotel pricing you shouldn't be able to hear EVERYTHING your neighbor does. We stayed two-nights in a Manoan king studio. We were on the bottom level and could hear every step, every flush, every sound from our upstairs neighbors. No exaggeration -- we could even hear their phones vibrate! It felt like we were at a cheap motel. We expected so much more for $330+ rooms. The room was lovely but it was simply hard to enjoy it. We will likely come enjoy Sundance's excellent dining and recreation again, but it is not worth staying over.

Yelp
I made some of the best memories of my life here. This was so perfect for my family, we all had lessons that were absolutely fun and helpful. The food was really great! The parking was honestly perfect. We spend 2 weeks skiing here, we didn't even go anywhere else in the valley because we loved it so much. I cannot wait to come back next season.

Yelp
Absolutely, do not come here. Do not spend your hard earned money here. There are plenty of places with beautiful views with great customer service and this is not it, trust me I made a mistake of getting married here. It's not even worth a quick visit. 0/10.

Yelp
This was our first time visiting Sundance Mountain for a wedding. We loved our stay! Highly recommend the jewelry making class with Amy-she was great at explaining what we were doing in the class and was very patient. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I'd like to give a special shout out to Forsey for coming to our rescue so many times. We greatly appreciated his friendliness and patience while taking us bake and forth to different areas at the resort.

Yelp
I decided to beat the Las Vegas heat and give Sundance another try. What a difference a room makes! Five stars for this experience - a suite up in the treetops where you hear the sound of the rushing stream and the breeze through the trees to lull you to sleep. The food is as delicious as I remembered it being. The walking trails with my puppy are exactly what I was looking for. Well done, Sundance!

Yelp
Very disappointed. Not at all what it used to be. This resort and service have gone down the toilet, likely because it's now owned by a private equity fund. The rooms, appliances and mattresses are motel quality; lots of bugs in the room, lights don't work and it seems every other thing is broken. I've literally had to beg and fight for service at the resort and restaurants. No one gets it; or no one cares. Most employees seem to be untrained college kids. The level of professional service is zero. Sundance should not be in the "Fine Resorts and Hotels" or "Preferred" collection which was the reason I decided to book our stay. I do not see ever bringing my family back and would not recommend this "resort" to anyone wanting or expecting something nice.

Yelp
Beautiful grounds. Had lunch at I believe The Lookout. Fast food at its worst. Pre cooked chicken fingers and chicken sandwich, from frozen chicken. How do I know pre cooked? At our table almost before we were. All we did was get self serve fringe and it was served. $90 for the amount and quality of the food was terrible. Did I mention beautiful views?

Yelp
This is a terrible mountain for beginners. I've been skiing for 42 years and enjoyed the terrain here. Lots of great groomed cruiser runs but if you are taking someone skiing for the first time don't come here. My daughter was terrified of the very steep sections of the lift that was reccomend Ed to us for the beginner route. The rope tow is nice and flat but to get there requires a short walk up hill that the staff told us to skip and just take the lift instead. That was a huge mistake. Even after spending the rest of the day on the rope tow my daughter was still scared of riding the lift and dealing with some of the steeper sections. I would definitely come back to ski the intermediates but won't bring kids back til they are more comfortable.
