Amazing Indian Cuisine at Sundara Indian Restaurant! Our take-out experience at Sundara Indian Restaurant was nothing short of extraordinary. We savored the delightful flavors of Chana Masala and Chicken Korma, both prepared to perfection with fresh ingredients and aromatic herbs. Located in the VFW, this gem offers pickup and various food delivery services, making it convenient for everyone. The owners' dedication to bringing traditional Northern Indian dishes to life is evident in every bite. The garlic Naan and Karachi Paratha on the side were pure indulgence. The garlic Naan was perfectly soft and flavorful, while the Karachi Paratha's flaky layers and grilled crust made it a unique treat. If you crave authentic Northern Indian cuisine with just the right amount of spice, Sundara Indian Restaurant is a must-visit. The culinary journey they take you on is truly unforgettable. Highly recommended!

This is NOT a sit down restaurant. We picked this place on a whim! Best decision EVER. Nestled in a VFW this take out place should be a neighborhood staple. We didn't know it was a block away. Now we do. They nailed the butter chicken, so delicious and creamy paired with basmati rice. The butter Nan was fantastic. You have to try the goat traditional curry with caramelized onions and tomatoes. It was fabulous, at least the one bite my husband let me have. All in all a new small business that I totally support.

The food was delicious, delightful, and delectable! One of the richest, most flavorful butter chicken dishes I have every had. The lamb biryani was tasty and there was a lamb piece in every spoonful. We will definitely be ordering from Sundara again soon, and I’m happy there is finally a great Indian takeaway in our neighborhood! P.S. We placed our order for pick up, and on the way to the restaurant, our car broke down 🤦🏻‍♀️. I called the restaurant to see if they were able to deliver even though we had already ordered, and Mary kindly offered to have one of their staff drive our food to our apt. What great customer service!

This restaurant stands out as exceptionally impressive due to its remarkable quality and taste, especially in its Biryani. It holds the distinction of being the best I've experienced since relocating to the United States, becoming my preferred choice every weekend.

Best Indian food in Arlington with every dish made to order. Pro tip: show up in person and order off menu items. They rent the kitchen at the local VFW so your visit supports our combat veterans. Show up and buy a beer on weekends while you wait, they have the cheapest beers in Town.

Amazing takeout Indian. No dine in caught us off guard. But the food was worth waiting to eat back at the hotel. The chicken 65 was amazing, the Methi curry was wonderful, and the biryani is lovely. Would eat here again for sure!

There is not really a dining room but the woman here let us sit at the bar and eat. The food was amazing! We had the chicken chilli, butter chicken, garlic naan, chapati and the samosa chirt

This is the best Indian food in the area. Hands down. I love it so much I dream about it. Unfortunately, they recently discontinued their delivery options on all platforms and website, and the restaurant is fairly out of the way nestled into a small neighborhood. I formally and publicly beg for some kind of reinstatement, or I will be unable to taste their delicious korma quite so often. Don’t get me wrong — 1000% patronize this restaurant if at all possible! Again, more than amazing food. Wish it were more accessible.

I lived in South Asia and this is the best Indian food in Arlington. Unlike the other places in the area every single dish is made to order. I love the daals, chicken tikka masala and lamb curry. Pro tip: go in person to order and get off menu specials. They rent the kitchen in the local VFW so you are also supporting our combat veterans when you visit.

We ordered takeout and got the butter chicken, garlic naan, and vegetable samosas. The butter chicken was AMAZING! The chicken melts in your mouth. Many other places only focus on the sauce and not the quality of the chicken (dry). This chicken was so moist, it changed my world. The samosas were great as well. The naan was nothing special, and the portions were a bit small for the price. Definitely will be returning and trying other dishes as well! Forgot to take pictures because I was so hungry :D

Solid neighborhood Indian carry-out. I'm not sure why Sundara doesn't have more reviews (it's not just catering, it's actually a carry-out restaurant, with decent Google reviews) so hoping to remedy that. They use the VFW space, but you can order carry out. It's not the best Indian food I've ever had but it's decent for when you're craving chicken tikka masala and the portions are very large (larger than many of the Indian restaurants nearby). This reminds me of what Delhi Dhaba used to be, before they increased their prices and decreased their quality.

I feel like they need to change the name from just catering because people need to know they can order normal takeout. It is easily the best Indian restaurant I've had in the DMV. Do not hesitate to order, it has become a staple takeout place for me.

They serve a solid malai kofta. This is probably the best smelling VFW in the country.

Delicious food and timely food preparation. I recommend the Vegetable Pakora and Malai Kofta and look forward to trying more items on their menu!

Amazing! The food was so so good, the owner and chef were so friendly and accommodating to my dietary restrictions and the food arrived on time and everyone loved it. I will definitely order catering from here again.

was so surprised by this small hole in the wall takeout spot! the food was totally authentic and delicious. we had butter chicken, lamb curry and mutton biryani. everything was yum. they have a range of spice levels which catered well to a big group. will definitely order from here again!
