Man, I really wanted to like this place. Too many cons very little pros. Pros; the place is really cute, the food ain’t too bad. Cons; the price!!!!! Is so expensive!!! $6 to add fries to a $16 chicken sandwich. CRAZY!!! The service!!! It took FOREVER just for them to acknowledge us when we were already sitting in our table, took our order and took another forever to get our drinks and food. Mind you, we only order a sprite and lemonade. We were just finishing our food and got the check immediately by the server… felt a little rushed, and weird since they took forever to serve us but they were quick to charge us. Overall, I would not recommend this place. Specially on a weekend.

Was served by a friendly young woman named Jacqueline. Very polite and attentive. The food is good, although the berries were a little too firm to my liking. That's just a personal preference, though, everything else was lovely. They don't have creamer, so if you order a coffee or a tea, keep in mind that they only have milk to add to it. They do have honey, though, which is nice. Very pink, which was a fun little touch. Even the receipts are pink. Very enjoyable experience.

My hubs and I went to this place for the very first time on Sunday around 10am. We had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated which was expected on a Sunday. We were seated outside which was pleasant considering San Diego weather. The environment was inviting with soft pink seats and tables accented with gold utensils and white napkins with their label printed in pink. I must say the environment was a good experience considering we aren’t into pink. We enjoyed and appreciate the look and colors chosen. Our experience was great until we began to be served. To start, we ordered coffee and iced peach tea. It took almost 15 minutes just for my hubs to receive his warm coffee and an additional 10 minutes after that for me to get my tea. Instead of bringing both out at the same time, the waiter brought out one before the other. My hubs got his coffee first, then I got my tea 10 minutes later. Our food came 20 minutes after my husbands coffee. It doesn’t make sense to wait for our order longer than it took to be seated unless you are at stake house. Usually an effective business would bring both out at the same time. Not sure why it would take so long to bring out peach tea that taste like you licked a balloon. This tea was terrible! I’ve had better canned tea from a gas station. Our first meal ordered was the birriaquiles (chilaquiles with Birria) with an added order of eggs to it. First of all why would you have to “add” eggs to it when it should be part of the meal. Second, it was $4 to add one egg. Seriously? The egg looked like a flat half slice of bread all for $4. I was able to gulp down the egg in two bites. Pretty expensive add on. The tortillas on the top were crispy and coated with green chile sauce but I only had two chips with that wonderful texture since the bowl was almost half filled with the sauce. I love chili verde but don’t drown the chips in it. The rest of the chips were so soaked that it taste like I was eating noodles. The meal came with pickled onions which were good but it was way too salty. The combination of pickled onions and chile verde sauce made the dish too salty. Maybe regular red onions would be good. Now, for the birria, it taste like canned beef. Pretty cheap dry texture with NO birria seasoning, just dry meat. I ended up unpleasantly slurping my noodle chip dry birria soup. The second meal was “Revuleto” (eggs and Avocado slices, corn tortillas, and bacon. I can’t believe this meal was $18. The portion size of this meal was too small. My hubs finished this pretty try fast. On the plus side, the bacon, eggs, and avocado was pleasant. The corn tortillas (3 of them) were delicious but we have had better. For that price we were hoping for a better taste and portion size. Overall, the food for this place was mediocre in taste and overpriced. If you’re looking for a place with good food, don’t come here. The food here was very bland. You can go to another place and get a better portion size and taste for the value. The only thing this place has over everyone else is the decor of the environment and the plating. Just because the meal is presented good doesn’t mean it taste like a $20 plate. Don’t get me wrong, this place isn’t all bad, it’s the taste of the food. I don’t think anyone comes here for the food, Instead they come for the environment and presentation of the food. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it’s just not what we are looking for. Sometimes you just wanna take your friends or your family to a very nice looking place. If you want a place where it looks Wonderfully decorated, themed, with an elegant style, this is the place for you. If you’re looking for a place with really good food, nope, it doesn’t cut it. I gave one star for the environment and one star for plate presentation but that’s it. We are definitely not going to be back.

The chilaquiles tasted very sour tasted like canned sauce. Didn’t really finish my plate couldn’t even eat my birria. The service was good tho. And the coffee was the best

We love the SBS, it's always busy, but the longest wait for us has been about 25 minutes. The food is tasty, will prepared and the service size is adequate for the price. It's a bit noisy, but not enough to prevent having a nice conversation over café de olla 👍🏻

Cute place but terrible food. The birriaquiles are average. The chicken and waffles are an insult. The coffee is cute, but bland. The fries are simply sad, lack salt, taste. I was deeply disappointed and really, really wanted to love this place. I informed the waiter that my waffle was raw inside, he just removed from my plate, no apology or offer for a better one. The fried chicken was more of a bland chicken nugget size of dry chicken breast.
