Sunday Press - Review - Museum District - Houston - The Infatuation

"Sunday Press, a cafe and coffee shop at Hermann Park, is a great family-friendly spot, especially after you weathered Museum District parking and numerous carousel rides at the zoo. It’s not as refined and impressive as their Garden Oaks location, but that’s not why you come here anyway. You’re here for a more well-rounded meal than a churro stand (no offense to churros). Because it’s so busy on the weekends, they tend to run out of their salads and sandwiches. If they’re available, snag the honey lavender London Fog and the egg croissant sandwich. Both of these should be enjoyed outside while taking in one of the most scenic views in Hermann Park. Food Rundown Avocado Toast The portions of arugula are inconsistent and seems rushed during construction. Overall a disappointment. photo credit: Liz Silva Egg Croissant Sandwich Grab this soft, buttery croissant filled with creamy eggs to go. It’s a perfect handheld breakfast during a stroll through Hermann Park. photo credit: Liz Silva Hot Buffalo Chicken Sandwich This is the sandwich to order. The vinegar-based chicken strips definitely bring the heat, and the coleslaw and pickles add crisp coolness. photo credit: Liz Silva Twin Mini Cheeseburgers (Kids Option) It works for a kid’s lunch. No fuss. Meat and cheese with a mayo-based sauce. And they come in two for sharing, which can be the answer to no tears at the table. photo credit: Liz Silva" - Julie Takahashi

I recently had the pleasure of discovering Sunday Press, a charming café nestled in the in Harmon Park by McGovern Lake area. From the moment I stepped inside, I was struck by the warm atmosphere. The cashier greeted with a warm smile and friendly demeanor, setting a positive tone for my entire experience. I indulged in a honey sea salt latte, and I must say, it was exceptional – easily one of the best I've ever tasted. My partner opted for the brown sugar cinnamon latte, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Sunday Press itself is a cozy spot with a limited number of indoor tables, but this is more than compensated for by the delightful outdoor seating area overlooking the lake. The ambiance is truly special, offering a tranquil setting perfect for a relaxing break or a casual meet-up. The menu is surprisingly diverse and impressive, ranging from delicious snacks and gourmet burgers to decadent desserts and an extensive drinks list. I was particularly pleased to see a selection of healthy snack options available as well. The quality of the ingredients and the careful preparation were evident in every bite. I would definitely come back again to Sunday Press. Whether looking for a delicious coffee, a satisfying meal, or simply a peaceful spot to unwind by the lake, this café is a hidden gem that shouldn't be missed.

Love the macaroon parfait here at Sunday Press! This is a great spot to decompress and relax. There are ducks, paddle boats & fountain to enjoy while dining on their outdoor patio area. They have great dessert/cookie options, sandwiches & salads to pick from as well. Close to the medical center.

Went to Hermann Park just for this but they didnt have the wraps available and there were not much options. I wish they’d put a better display of fresh options and pastries. The place itself is small but has a night outdoor seating with view of the lake.

Food and coffee are on point. The crew were hospitable and warm. The low stars are because your online ordering system doesnt offer any real convenience of ordering ahead! Ordered at 9:45am. Currently it’s 10:36am and I’m still waiting for two coffees and two tacos. Meanwhile people that walked up got their order within 5 minutes. So Sunday Press what the HELL is the point of ordering ahead if I end up waiting 40 mins while watching other people walk up and get their orders quickly. I feel like it just got buried while walk ins got priority. Figure it out

Google
The staff are fantastic and the coffee has a rich bold flavor, but very smooth. Honest prices- comparable to any other coffee shop. Be prepared for a 5-10 minute wait (understandable) this is a small local business with limited space in the park.

Such a lovely place in Hermann Park! Lauren took care of us, her and her team made the best honey lavender latte and we had a super tasty snickerdoodle cookie. Who knew they had pastry chefs on staff?! The inside is fun and modern with cool concrete flooring and terracotta seating. Outdoor patio area as well.

Google
Such a cute little place in Hermann Park it’s right by the pedal boats and super cute with indoor and outdoor seating. They offer coffee large selection of bakery items as well as we were really surprised to find the hot lunch options here. We got a veggie burger and a Regular burger and both tasted okay. The fries were definitely great. I love their lemonade. I asked about the Chai that they make and turns out they use the concentrate to make the hot chai which wasn’t my favourite.
