Sunday Supply - Review - Fredericksburg - Austin - The Infatuation

"Just off the Hill & Vine property in Fredericksburg is the restaurant’s sundries store, Sunday Supply. Inside its unassuming brick facade is a coffee shop serving espresso-based brews, teas, canned and bottled beverages, and more. The drinks are flavorful and full-bodied—the perfect pick-me-up after a meal next door. For those looking to grab a bite to go, Sunday Supply has a rotating selection of breakfast tacos, premade salads, boxed lunches, and snacks. Their housemade pastries are the best way to keep caffeine jitters at bay, specifically the Czech-styled sausage kolaches (or klobasneks, if you prefer). Savor your coffee and tacos on Sunday Supply’s plentiful patio seating, or head over to Main Street for a picnic at Marktplatz von Fredericksburg. video credit: Richard Casteel" - Samantha Grasso

Sometimes you just want a good cup of coffee at 7 PM – and that’s not easy to find. But every city has that one spot where you can get great coffee outside the usual hours. In Fredericksburg, that’s Sunday Supply. This is probably the only coffee place in town truly worth visiting in the morning and the evening. Great coffee, warm atmosphere, solid pastries, and friendly service. If you’re in town, don’t miss it – especially when Starbucks just won’t cut it.

As avid tea enthusiasts, my husband and I were excited to visit Sunday Supply. While we appreciated the cozy atmosphere, there were a few missteps that prevented us from falling in love with this spot. Firstly, as loose leaf tea fans, we were disappointed to find that Sunday Supply only offers bagged tea. We understand that this might not be a deal-breaker for everyone, but for us, it was a bit of a letdown. We got a 20 oz drink with one tea bag, but most tea spots give you two tea bags with that much hot water. One bag wasn’t strong enough. Additionally, our visit was around 4 pm, and we noticed that the space could benefit from a good touch-up cleaning. The pastry cabinet was also bare, which was a shame since we were looking forward to pairing our tea with a sweet treat. We were also surprised to find some unhealthy coffee syrups, which seemed out of place in an otherwise charming establishment. Lastly, we felt that the hospitality could be warmer and more welcoming. As someone who rarely writes reviews under 5 stars, I wanted to love this spot. With a few tweaks, Sunday Supply could easily become a 5-star destination with each customer. They were busy, so I’m sure their coffee is fantastic!

Delightful, cozy little building with lovely outdoor seating as well. Our coffee drinks were delicious and the food was so tasty. We’ll definitely be back!!

Very quick breakfast and coffee options! Inside and outside seating were nice, we sat on the porch to have coffee and breakfast tacos. A great option if you don't want to wait in the long lines on Main St.

We are doing an overnight stay in Fredericksburg and we stopped into this coffee shop on Monday morning, our coffees are absolutely delicious and our barista Ellie was so sweet and had great suggestions. The interior is soooo cutie. They have salads and premade items as well as pastries and breakfast tacos. I ordered an iced gingerbread oat milk latte with speculoos cold foam (like a biscoff cookie) which she HAND whipped!!!! The French toast muffin was also sooo yummy and she offered to warm it up! I will definitely be back if ever in the Fredericksburg area! Thank you Sunday Supply for the most perfect coffee experience!

The line was long, but the servers were extraordinary and the coffee was worth the wait. I had the drip coffee to get my caffeine fix quickly.

Google
This little bakery was so wonderful! The drinks were amazing and oh my gosh the muffins...it's a nice quiet little spot away from all the hustle and bustle of main street.

Google
Wish I lived closer to stop here all the time! My favorite item is their scones. They have more of a buttery biscuit texture which makes them delicious. This place has a standard coffee menu, and they have the most high end espresso machine I’ve ever seen! They use Cuvée beans, so the drip coffee was good. Wonderful ambiance inside and out! Definitely could tell this place was created with a lot of thought and care

Super cute spot & environment. Service was quick & coffee was good! A bit on the pricy side but was a good stop!

Yelp
Will come here every time! The food was fresh, flavorful and filling! The lattes were awesome. Loved the decor and ambiance.

Yelp
Visit Date: August 31, 2024 My mom, dad, and I ate here during our Labor Day Weekend trip to Fredericksburg and the Hill Country. This was mentioned in a Decanter article (wine enthusiast publication) within a paragraph about Hill & Vine, their affiliated larger restaurant across the way. It's located in kind of an expanded parking lot type situation, so it doesn't feel like they're on a real street (but they are). By the time we finished exploring the vineyards/wineries, Hill & Vine had already closed so we went into Sunday Supply. Evidently, there was also no more food items in the display case like breakfast tacos. We all picked up a chicken salad sandwich from the refrigerator. My dad got the sausage scone, and me the sausage kolache (which apparently is an Austin/Czech delight). I also got a pistachio chai latte, which didn't taste of much pistachio - mostly chai. The chicken salad sandwiches were surprisingly good and fresh. The portions were huge, we were full at the end. The sausage kolache was also very delicious. The vibes are cute and I'm sure their other bakery goods are great as well.

Yelp
Visited this very aesthetic coffee shop on a nice Sunday morning. They have plenty of parking in the back of the store that is shared with Hill & Vine next door. They also have some street parking. As we walked in the door the place was packed!!! It's a small shop inside, so the line wrapped around inside the store. The place being packed and the wonderful yelp reviews definitely got us excited! As you wait , you can't help but notice the cute decor and the beautiful massive pastries on display. On the topic of food, I noticed they have a fridge with some ready made food. I decided to keep it simple and got an iced oat latte and a blueberry scone. First things first the coffee was decent. I do understand that it was super busy and the barista was slinging shots left and right so that may have affected the quality of the espresso. Now as far as the beautiful pastries - my scone was also just ok. I also tried the strawberry scone and the cinnamon roll and both didn't blow me away. Both the scones were a little dry. The cinnamon roll was good and moist in the middle but the outer layers were a little dry - they also ran out of icing for the cinnamon so maybe with it would've been better. Overall the place is cute and has a welcoming atmosphere. There's some inside and plenty of outside seating where you can chill with friends, your furry friend, and even your baby like we did. I do see the potential for the place so I might give them one more shot next time we're in town. Check them out and maybe you'll get a better experience than we did!

Yelp
This is such a cute little spot! The service, coffee and pastries are really good! The line tends to get long but it moves fast! I plan on returning when in town.

Yelp
Wonderful place to have a perfect breakfast, lunch or fantastic dessert. Such a quaint and perfect atmosphere to sit, gather for a snack or meal and enjoy your visit to downtown Fredericksburg.

Yelp
We tried Sunday Supply for a quick coffee and pastry run. We ordered a pumpkin spice latte and an iced hazelnut/mocha latte, a banana nut muffin and a blueberry scone. Both the coffees and pastries were very good! The location is right around the corner from Main Street and is actually a sister property of Hill & Vine - they are right next to each other. There is some inside seating, although it is a little tight in there, but they have much more outdoor seating with tables, chairs and long table benches, which is nice when the weather is beautiful!

Yelp
Got the Biscoff Cold Brew Cream as on menu and one w/xtra espresso... not very flavorful. We got the sausage burrito and bacon. They were ok but nothing special. Chocolate muffin was ok. We will pass next time .

Yelp
My friends and I each got a different iced latte and tried each others' and they were all really good! The pistachio lavender and wildflower were great. My friend said her wildflower coffee "tastes like happiness in a cup". This place was super cute outside and inside, and the workers were friendly. The pasties looked delicious, were all very large, and had cool flavors like orange cranberry. Definitely want to try a scone next time I go back. They also had breakfast tacos on the menu. There was lots of easy parking to the side of the building.

Yelp
Holy crap this place is great! They have hands down the best Pigs in a Blanket that I've ever had. The top them with "everything seasoning" and it takes them to another level!

Yelp
Such a great atmosphere decorated well, Carmel Spice latte was delicious. We didn't partake in the pastries but will definitely be back. Thank you

Yelp
Cute little nice place for coffee. Seemed like a lot of locals went in and knew the baristas and it was so sweet! Good taste and good coffee ! I got an iced chai and it was yummy. Good people too, everyone was so nice. In the front they have a cute little bench to sit and just talk. Cute local coffee shop !

Yelp
Great coffee, friendly baristas, quick service for as busy as they sometimes get ! (I visited twice during Oktoberfest, so they may have been busier than usual but they handled it well and still dished out quality coffee!) Lovely interior decor & small shopping area!
google avatar

Cory M.

Yelp
This is a perfect morning spot. Lots of outdoor shady seats, coffee is prolly the best in town (don't sleep on the pistachio chai either). Good prices and an extremely friendly staff. We will definitely be back. Make sure this is on your list!

Yelp
Used yelp to find a coffee place open later near enchanted rock. Found this and decided to try it out. All the drinks we tried were great. Husband ordered some desserts which I didn't catch the name, but it was a pie/cake/brownie looking piece that tasted like light smores. No picture of it because it was so delicious, the family devoured it (I'm pretty sure the youngest licked the container). Blueberry scone was superb. Barista also made the girls some cold cream to try while we enjoyed our Chai latte. Place was cozy, there was a cute little yard to sit at, and there were tables inside to enjoy your drink.

Yelp
We were out for a nice Saturday tour of the hill country, and decided to stop at this little coffee shop. We ordered 3 pastries, 2 coffees, and a hot chocolate none of which would I return for. What made the visit even less impressive, was the staff member sitting in the corner sucking face with her boyfriend, and the fact that all of the rest of the staff retreated to a back room I can only assume to eat. The dining area and register were 100% unmanned once the boyfriend decided he had to go back to work. Totally unacceptable and unprofessional... NEVER AGAIN!!!

Yelp
I have been dropping into FBG a few times a year for the last several years and in my last few visits have really enjoyed my experience at Sunday Supply. The coffee is great, the pastries are awesome, but most importantly, the service is wonderful. Very fast and very kind. I highly recommend!

Yelp
Excellent coffee, pastries and service. Stopped by on a Saturday morning with the family and it was busy. The staff was very professional and friendly. The lattes were on point and the fruit kolaches were excellent. Highly recommend.

Yelp
The coffee is great and the scones are delicious! The lady at the counter was so sweet. Such a cute and cozy place!
google avatar

Marissa R.

Yelp
Having head coffee at practically every place in town, this is my favorite. Espresso drinks are excellent. Also, hands-down, the best scones and muffins in town!
google avatar

Robin W.

Yelp
The coffee and service was ok. The shop has a few places to seat.
google avatar

Yelp
Small coffee shop that can get quite busy. I got their iced caramel latte and it wasn't watery or milky - it was deliciously strong with the right amount of caramel. My friend got the iced matcha latte and when they were making it, it looked so frothy and green that I almost regretted getting a coffee. I would come back again especially as it is not on main st, had its own parking lot, but is close to main st. Also a good pit stop before leaving town on your last day of vacation here. The workers were nice and very focused, def not an emphasis on shallow small talk to make you tip, which is fine by me.

Yelp
Delighted to find this little jewel across the parking lot from it's sister establishment, Hill & Vine. My afternoon refresher with coconut milk and peach was delicious! Next time I'll get there earlier so I can partake of their highly touted caffeinated offerings!
google avatar

Richard S.

Yelp
Friendly staff, cute building, lattes were of consistent, and not exceptional. To date the best latte I've had in Fredericksburg, as an anchor to this review. Baked goods were nice, though not memorable.

Tina N.

Yelp
I went here over the weekend with a group of friends and it was the perfect place for a midday pick me up. The vibes, the ambience, and the aesthetic were top notch. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. I got the vanilla latte and it was easily the best I'd had over in Fredericksburg over the weekend. I also highly recommended checking out their restaurant right across called Hill + Vine for dinner. We'll definitely be back next time we are in Fredericksburg!!

Cynthia F.

Yelp
Service was not that great. Cashier didn't have a welcoming attitude. Coffee was bleh for $20. I ended up not drinking mine. I would not come back. Also while waiting for our coffee, they would not write names on the cups which caused a lot of confusion. Both of our coffees were grabbed by other customers by mistake which caused us to wait longer than normal.

Lisa P.

Yelp
Went in and they had closed early. The barista made no offer to accommodate us and didn't apologize for the inconvenience.
google avatar

Angela G.

Yelp
I tried their Honey latte which was good coffee, but I wish there was a bit more honey flavor. They had a ton of different customizations and some great suggestions for combos.
google avatar

Tara H.

Yelp
Ended up throwing away my vanilla cafe latte after drinking about a quarter of it as it was so strong and bitter.

Yelp
Baristas are nice. Pastries look good- but I saw the La Marzocco espresso machine and got psyched. They pre grind the espresso, let the shots sit, and over steam the milk. No latte art. No organic milk options. This is not third wave. It looks like it, they have the grinders and machine, but they ruin it by not taking the care they should. I saw the main barista burn the milk by adding way too much air into the milk and then pouring the milk from the side of the pitcher and not the spout. Espresso shots should not sit longer than 15 seconds. Espresso beans should not be ground way before. They should learn the craft if they have the gear. Hoping this post makes them up their training game (YouTube vids even!) - because it's cute.

Jack S.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop right near the main drag. Be aware that store hours are not as posted on Apple Maps. They close everyday at 3pm except Friday and Saturdays, which are open 9pm. Sweet! Easter Sunday we arrived a little after 3pm to find the store closing down, but the sweet gal working the bar let us in anyway after I pointed out the discrepancy of the hours posted online. Our almond milk cappuccino's that our barista made up were pretty good. Since the till was closed she compt'd us! Bonus! There may be limited seating indoors-as others mentioned, but there's plenty of outdoor seating. I'll definitely come again.

Yelp
This is a lovely little coffee shop! The iced latte with cinnamon syrup was not too sweet (which I really appreciated) and the blueberry scone was incredible. Definitely the best scone I've ever had. I might have to grab a couple for our drive back to Austin

Michaela E.

Yelp
The best coffee. I came here every single day I was in town. I tried the vanilla latter, London fog latte, and peppermint mocha. I also got the breakfast tacos and blueberry muffin. Everything I tried was great.

Emily W.

Yelp
Such a cute place! Great indoor/outdoor seating & great food/coffee. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Still my favorite coffee shop in town. Service is always warm. Espresso is excellent and the strawberry scones are not to be missed. Empanadas are pretty tasty too. Great, rustic/modern, laidback, and relaxing spot to grab coffee, salad or pre-made sandwich.

Yelp
Visited several coffee shops on the Main Street but nothing compares to the quality of Sunday Supply. This is a very cute coffee shop worth your trip off the Main Street. Coffee and atmosphere are amazing and the staff are so much fun. This is a shop the locals know about but everyone should visit.

A G.

Yelp
Small coffee shop with decent selection of pastries and kolaches. Outdoor seating available, pretty ambiance. Staff is patient, knowledgeable and friendly. Good for breakfast on the run

Yelp
We came here twice over the weekend. The inside is very charming and welcoming. I got a dirty chai (hot on day 1 and iced on day 2) and it had a great amount of spice to it and not overly sweet. The baked goods, including the scones with full berries on top, looked delicious. However, the kolaches were AMAZING!! We had the tri-tip and cheese and the sausage and cheese. Holy moly, the bread is fresh, crispy on the outside, topped with everything but the bagel seasoning, and soft on the inside. This place gives Czech Stop a run for their money.

Rick N.

Yelp
Best coffee house i Fredericksburg! The baristas were on point and the coffee was amazing!
