Decided to try Sundays Well instead of our usual 3rd Ave spots. The patio was open, and although only the brunch menu was available (no regular lunch options), we decided to give it a shot. The Palomas were excellent — easily the highlight. Unfortunately, service and food quality fell short. After accidentally knocking over a drink, we realized we had no utensils or napkins and struggled to get our server’s attention as she focused mainly on a larger party. I eventually had to go inside to ask for help. The waitress brought a rag but set it down, and walked away without offering to assist in cleaning up. When the food arrived (thanks to a very helpful runner), the burger ordered medium was well-done, and the Shakshuka eggs were severely undercooked. Our server was understanding and took the Shakshuka off the bill, and even discounted the burger despite us agreeing to just share that instead but overall the experience was disappointing. I understand staff can sometimes be stretched thin, but given how many great spots are nearby, we’ll likely stick to more reliable options in the future.

Cozy spot with a great hidden courtyard — perfect for a relaxed afternoon or evening. The vibe is nice, and the service was friendly. I tried a mocktail, but it was overly sweet for my taste. Definitely recommend coming here for a proper drink at the bar instead!

We hosted our engagement party at Sunday's Well, and it was absolutely seamless from start to finish! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the staff was incredibly attentive, and the service was top-notch. Everything—from the food and drinks to the overall vibe—was perfect, making it an unforgettable night for us and our guests. The team made the entire planning process stress-free, and they truly went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. We would 100% host an event here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic spot in NYC. Thank you, Sunday's Well, for making our special night even more special!

I went for a quick bite/drink after work and had the pleasure of having Emma as my bartender. She was super helpful with showing me recommendations and helping me choose what to get. As a bartender myself, watching her interact with other people and being nice and accommodating while doing it made it worth while! I highly recommend this place, cute bar area and loads of seating for any needs!

Google
Great vibes. Outdoor patio is awesome, bartenders are friendly and the food is delicious! Get the El Tigre, some chicken poppers, a burger and have a night like my friends and I did!

Google
Honestly, place seemed like a nice atmosphere and good vibe, but the redhead bartender was unbelievably rude. After waiting for 10 minutes to put our drinks in, she acted like it was inconvenient to request an order. She then proceeded to go talk crap to the other bartender about us. Extremely unsettling, wouldn’t come back because of the service.

Rebecca Marcinko

Google
Great vibes and service! However, we decided to leave after 1 drink just because it was really hot inside. Would love to visit again when it cools down or if the temperature inside is improved.

We came here for a corporate happy hour and had called earlier in the day to reserve a spot. We were told it was not a problem and there would be space for us but when we showed up they had the reservation wrong. The waitstaff seemed surprised but was nice enough to figure it out and seat us. We stayed for a while and was then told there was a reservation for our table (which is completely understandable) but we were still spending money and weren’t ready to leave (we were a table of 10+ so the restaurant was making decent money off of us) and they did not offer to reseat us or even buy us a drink at the bar. After working in the restaurant industry at a busy, high turn restaurant for years, I find this to be unacceptable and poor customer service. We couldn’t locate the hostess after minutes of waiting up front so we relocated ourselves to an open table at the bar. We were then told they had a reservation at that table in 30+ minutes and we had to vacate the table. At this point they didn’t offer to take our order and just walked away (I swear it’s like they don’t want to make money). We were fine with only sitting there for a short while and were understanding that they had a reservation but assumed they would serve us in the meantime. (Again, all would have been totally fine if they offered to make our experience better by trying to reseat us after we were kicked off yet another table and had spent, in total, close to $800+ at this point at the establishment.) We finally flagged down a server who kindly took our order and delivered our drinks only to find our original server returned to promptly and unkindly kick us out and demand payment asap. Again, the bill from the one round of drinks was over $125 and the server was beyond rude and unfriendly. We used to frequent this place but the unfriendliness of the staff will make us find a new after work spot moving forward. I’ve worked in the food and beverage service industry for years, and as a waitress / host you sign up to be in a “customer facing” role. I found the service and attitude I experienced here to be unacceptable and far below a standard that I would ever be held to as a server / hostess myself in the city. Moral of the story, come here for the drinks / food (they are good) but keep your bar low for the service.

Yelp
I went here for a happy hour deal (~$10 cocktails and ~$6 beer/wine until 7pm) with my friends and had a great time!! We sat outside which was very nice to chat and enjoy conversations (not too loud or crowded)!! They didn't have happy hour food menu but everything we ordered was surprisingly very good. ESPECIALLY the fried cauliflower was so perfectly seasoned that I couldn't stop popping them in my mouth. They were very friendly and nice even during the busy time! I really enjoyed my time there:)

Yelp
This place has everything you need to have a very happy happy hour. Attentive bartenders? Check. Cute men in business attire? Check. Great specials? Also check. Came here to meet up with a friend during the week for happy hour, and immediately walked into a whole vibe. Very trendy place, but still warm and approachable. Ordered myself a vodka mule which was good, though they didn't serve it in a copper mug. Seating is first come first serve at the bar, so if you're coming during happy hour and want a seat try and get here on the earlier side. Happy hour goes until 7 pm, and there are food specials on certain nights of the week, too. The food menu looked great, but we couldn't resist grabbing some Indian food after this (when in Curry Hill, am I right?).

Yelp
Great happy hour! Monday - Friday: Open - 7 and Sunday 3-close $10 cocktails, $10 wine and $6 beers from anywhere not just at the bar. Slightly elevated bar food. Consistently lively / almost packed after work hours. Great outdoor space and back area space for the warmer months and private events. Luckily around my work. I would come back.
google avatar

Yelp
I heard this place had a nice outdoor seating area in the back, but I never got to see it.. They were at max capacity, so we got seated inside for the time being. I should have kept checking to see if people were leaving because our server never offered to move us outside. The drinks were great. They offer $1 oysters during happy hour, so I can see why people would come here. I think for happy hour, the cocktails are like $1-2 off. I got the Eastsider and I loved it! I'd come back to get that again. The server was nice. They've got that brick wall interior that people are so crazy about here.

Yelp
My friends and I came here for their happy hour yesterday. The Monday deals are great! The $10 food deals were Hush Puppies, Burgers and Ceasar Salad. Overall, they hit the spot. The hush puppies had spicy cheese on the inside which was delicious and the burger was super juicy. For drinks, we did the Moscow Mules which were sooo good and had the perfect amount of ginger. The inside is cute - definitely a vibe :)

Yelp
Came here for a friend's birthday on a Saturday afternoon. It's a great space, especially their outdoor seating area is perfect for a summer afternoon and adds a lot of extra space to hangout. Staff were very friendly and quick to serve up a drink when you needed one. Additionally the extra little bit of hospitality they added for my friend's birthday helped make things just a little bit more special which was greatly appreciated. Speaking of drinks though, that's what we were here for. A good array of beers on tap and in can or bottle, but the cocktails are where I was spending most of my evening. The favorite by far was the Eastsider, a perfect and smooth summer drink, could definitely be dangerous with how drinkable it is! Their Amaro espresso martini is an interesting take on the classic, but the traditional preparation is more my speed as I found this one a little more bitter than I'd like. We had some appetizers too, the spinach artichoke dip and their fries were fantastic and easy crowd pleasing favorites. All around, I'd be happy to come back here and sit down for a full fledged meal and a cocktail another time.

Yelp
My experience dinning at Sunday wells went well. The staff were welcoming. We were given great recommendations on the cocktails offered during happy hour. The burgers were really good. The service was great. We were offered indoor & outdoor seating. We chose to seat indoors because it was a little cold.

Yelp
Loved the vibe at Sundays Well and we came on a Sunday! The drinks were amazing and delicious! The French sticks toast and breakfast burrito was tasty. But we loved the crispy potatoes! It was a great brunch spot and so glad we were able to grab some food here! Highly recommend!

Yelp
I've been to Sundays Well a few times now and have been consistently impressed with the food and drinks, atmosphere, and unfailingly friendly service. Some menu highlights: Sunday burger (La Frieda blend, lettuce, onion, tomato, housemade pickles, garlic herb aioli): you can sub in a beyond burger for $1, which I did. Pretty good burger all around, but the savory, almost toasty, sesame seed bun really made this special. Fries: hand cut, fresh, and sprinkled with sea salt. These are excessively crispy in the best possible way. Honestly, top-notch fries. I've also enjoyed the portobello sandwich, hush puppies, and crispy fish tacos. Eastsider cocktail (vodka, cucumber, aloe, lime): this is deceptively simple and so, so good. It's such a refreshing cocktail for the summer and balances vegetal, sweet, and citrus flavors. Gin and flowers cocktail(Gin, Cocchi Blanc, Chamomile, Thyme, Lavender, Lemon): Aldo good. The gin and chamomile flavors are the most prominent. If the weather's nice, sit in the cozy outdoor courtyard in the back. It's a little oasis.

Yelp
Super attentive host and very accommodating to how you want your dish! I came in here with my best friend to catch up and was down for their fish sandwich. But it was breakfast so they weren't serving it, but they said they could make me a chicken sandwich instead, which was so darn bomb! I put bacon on it, with cheese and all the works and it came out fantastic and it was huge! Very thankful for them coming through with the juicy chicken sandwich haha. Could only eat half so saved the rest for home. Def coming back for the fish in the future. The restaurant was super laid back and was a perfect Saturday brunch spot for us.

Yelp
Excellent happy hour! If you can get here and spend a moment at the bar or on the outdoor patio, the drinks and food are a great price and are delicious. The bartender was friendly and quick and handled everything smoothly. I'd love to come back and try more of the drinks.

Yelp
Sunday's well has to be my favorite brunch spot in town. I have visited two consecutive weekends for their bottomless brunch and haven't been disappointed. For $25/person with a main dish, you can try all their brunch cocktails (unlimited supply) for 1.5 hrs: 1. Egg & Cheese Sandwich (absolutely delicious)- with soft eggs scrambled on a sesame brioche roll with chipotle mayo 2. Baked Eggs (really good!)- with 2 Eggs, White Beans, poblano, kale and harissa sauce 3. Hush Puppies: do not forget to get these! The white BBQ sauce that comes with them is amazing! 4. Avo toast- cannot screw up this dish and this place did not! All their brunch cocktails are really good but my personal favorite is the Aperol spritz!

Yelp
Been here twice and I like that it's a really spacious bar with a cute outdoor patio. Giving it a 4/5 because the first time I went there the service was really slow and barely acknowledged me and my guest but after coming here recently it was a better experience! I'd come back here with a larger group!

Yelp
Sat at the bar with a friend for happy hour. Great service, and the burger was yummy.

Yelp
It's taken me a month to write this because I didn't want to write from a place of emotion. But when something is still eating at you a month later, you know something has to be said. I live in the neighborhood and thought Sunday's Well would be a cute place to celebrate my birthday. Close to my apartment and supporting a local small business. The topline is that management acted unfairly & poorly and took $600 from me without providing any goods or services. Then after agreeing to provide me with $300 in wine to try and make things right, insulted me by giving me 5 bottles of wine worth $78 retail (which means they paid $40 or less for all 5 bottles). I feel truly ripped off and disgusted and do not recommend having a private party here. No one throughout the entire 3+ hours of my party informed me of how I was tracking to the minimum spend. Towards the end of the evening I asked and was told I had $500 left to spend to meet the minimum. I was unable to purchase food for my party of approximately 20 because the kitchen was already closed at that point (and people were done drinking). Upset but not wanting to cause a scene in front of my guests I figured I would take it up with the manager the following day. I was also charged a 20% tip on the $500 balance??! Why would I tip on a balance for which I did not receive any goods or services. After several emails back and forth with the person who I had discussed the party with originally, my email reached the owner - who apparently had been there the evening of my party but had never introduced himself. He agreed to try and "make things right" by meeting me halfway with $300 of wine (I asked for that or $300 in credit at the bar). He further insulted me with 5 bottles of cheap wine. I am truly disgusted by the actions of this small business owner. 10/10 do not recommend.

Yelp
I always come here for birthdays because the space in the back is so accommodating. My friend reserved the small back bar and a few tables on the outside (which connect to the back bar via window) which was super convenient. The bartender was very friendly and accommodated requests not usually taken for a party minimum. I would definitely recommend hosting a party here!

Yelp
Got the Talea sour. Cute place with nice ambiance :) not much else to add but would go back! A little pricey though

Yelp
Everything we were looking for. Great drinks. Great food and a great back patio to enjoy them at. Would definitely go back. Wait staff was great!

Yelp
Sundays Well took over the space of a neighborhood favorite of mine, a trendy cocktail bar called Stay Gold. While Stay Gold did not survive past pandemic related closures, I was excited to see this new bar retaining much of the charming decor, booth seating, and backyard that made SG so fun and honestly, a little too cool for this neighborhood. The cocktail list here is not the most exciting, which I say because I recognize all the ingredients in the drinks here. You won't find anything beyond basic negronis, mules, and other simple drinks. The food is similarly basic, with things like grilled cheese, caesar salad, fish tacos, fries, and dips making up the menu. This sort of menu caters more appropriately to the neighborhood than the overly cool SG does, which I feel robbed the bar of any personality it used to have, even if this is likely a more sustainable model for them. It's nice that unlike at buzzier places, you can drop by anytime and likely get a table or seat at the bar, which is sometimes all you can ask for in a neighborhood bar.

Yelp
Two tasty crispy fish tacos for a happy hour. I don't drink so I was looking for a way to bond with everyone and these tacos came in clutch! Tasty and plenty of seasoning and sauces. Tasty for $12. Would've loved a third. Awesome outdoor seating. Nice lights as it got darker. Nice staff that really took care of us.

Yelp
Went on a Monday night and the bar was completely empty save one other couple at the bar. Cute bar, drinks menu looked creative and interesting. My issue and reason I wouldn't return is the embarrassing lack of service. The bartender was perfectly nice, but we had to literally flag her down or get up from our bar seats at one end to walk over to her (chitchatting away with the couple at the other end, whom I assume were friends of hers?) to ask for her attention any time we needed anything. Our empty glasses just sat on the bar unless we asked her to remove them. Just a complete lack of service to the point the bartender even made a joke about it (not even a casual apology even once). We left to go to another bar down the block. Wouldn't return. Not worth the higher cocktail prices for this kind of environment.
google avatar

Cris K.

Yelp
My friend, Naj, and I shared the grilled cheese and chicken poppers. I wish my chicken came with cole slaw because it was salty and a bit dry, with nothing mediate it other than downing my drink slowly. We split the fries, which were homemade, and the house sauce (thousand island with horse radish?) can get addicting. My friend was having a good time with her grilled cheese, clearly. The drinks are strong and probably SW's forte, but food is a hit or miss.

Yelp
Love the space, love the menu, and love the service! Sundays Well is a great neighborhood spot, with a simple menu of delicious dishes - entrees and shareable apps - and a nice selection of drinks. The space is fantastic. In addition to an outdoor patio and a clean, modern interior, they have a garden in the back that offers nice seating in a more secluded setting. Service has been great every time I've gone, with really accommodating and friendly staff. This place is definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
Just realized I never wrote a review for these guys. Came here about 9 months ago with a girlfriend which was my first ever dining out experience post-Covid and it did not disappoint! You order via QR code at the table. Service was all outside. Got the Cauliflower Sandwich which was incredible. The spicy harissa was key! And we also split the Fried Fish Sandwich as well. Fish was cooked to perfection and loved the doughy soft sesame seed roll. Wish the slaw had a bit more zing though. Wish the sandwiches came with fries or a side salad though. Cocktails were strong and refreshing. Would come back for that Cauli Sammie for SURE!
google avatar

Alice W.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour a couple weeks ago. What I really like is that this place takes reservations! They have indoor and outdoor dining options. The happy hour deals are pretty good here, cocktails were only $10. I got the Eastsider which is made of Vodka, Aloe, Cucumber, Lime. It was really refreshing and not too sweet! For nyc bars, there's a rule now to order food with drinks so I recommend ordering their Hot Popcorn Chicken. It has a good amount of crunch and a nice amount of spice. Good bar!

A. V.

Yelp
Good atmosphere, good food, ok service. $14 glass of white wine is a little excessive.
google avatar

Yelp
Great Vibes, Great Food, Great Cocktails, Great Seating, Great Service, Great Music! Just Great! - Perfect for a date! P.s. The Eastsider Cocktail is Ahhh-mazing!! JUST SAYIN!
google avatar

Yelp
Sropped by for a drink and had a great time. I enjoyed my cocktail then got a guiness. Came on a Saturday around brunch time and got a table without a reservation. Will look to come back to try the food. Vibes were good with fun music and I liked the outdoor area.

Yelp
Awesome place to celebrate our daughter's birthday. Tremendous service, food, and drink menu. Just need over thing.... Serve desserts!

Yelp
Annie was amazing! What a great server! The food was amazing and service was super fact. Had a great time I'll be back soon!

Yelp
This place is a joke. Made a reservation for 10, squeezed us into a table for 8. Completely forgot a meal and then made up stories saying "it's coming" when it wasn't. Had to get up and ask twice then the manager. They got the sandwich out after everyone else in our party finished eating, and it was burned. It was dropped off unceremoniously with a simple "we made it" and that they wouldn't charge us for the sandwich. It's too bad because other things on the menu taste good, there was a good old fashioned, but wow the service is as if a bunch of rookies are trying to pretend they know how to run a good restaurant. Not coming back given how many options there are in NYC. (Written by someone who proudly spent 7 years in restaurants actually taking care of guests and apologizing appropriately when mistakes were made.)

Sarah Q.

Yelp
Would avoid this place for brunch at all costs. Quick summary - some of the ingredients in the food they served had VISIBLY gone bad and the service was worse than questionable (at one point the waitress told us "all of the milk was expired" when serving us iced coffee....with milk lol). Went here with a couple friends for brunch. I ordered some orange juice to drink and the server brought over a brown beverage - my friends and I thought it was coffee so I quickly checked with the server to make sure I didn't have the wrong order - nope, the brown beverage WAS the orange juice. Each of us tried one sip of it and could not conclude if it had just gone bad or they had put concentrate (that perhaps had gone bad?) straight from the can into a glass and served it (do not know why it would be brown tho lol). My friends ordered burgers and with the burgers came ketchup. Right away you could see on the top half of the bottle, white mold spots in the ketchup - (this can happen if you don't store ketchup properly). It was pretty nasty and we didn't touch it. I ordered the shakshuka. I've had shakshuka a couple times before so I could already tell something was off when it arrived- parts of the sauce appeared to be a grayish color (the only comparison I have is also mold? shakshuka sauce is supposed to be red, but parts of it looked moldy/bad) Upon trying it, it was very clear it was either the vegetables or the sauce that may have spoiled. Finally, the cherry on top was when one of my friends asked for milk with her coffee. The waitress told us verbatim "all of the milk was expired" so they had "just sent a guy to go buy some more" -she said this as some of us literally drank iced coffees with milk alternatives - the milk alternatives were probably ok but lol that statement doesn't pair well when you've seen mouldy ketchup and eaten what appears to be rotten vegetables. (Also why would you even tell customers that??? Lmao) Upon trying to as nicely as possible tell the waitress of the issues - she simply removed the food and walked away - no sorry or anything lol. The manager later came by and apologized but all in all will not be returning for food there ever again.

Yelp
Understated from the outside but a pretty large venue that has a patio/like area in the far back of the bar. Walked in on a Saturday night after dinner and the place was pretty quiet! (maybe bc it's relatively new)? Anyway, I thought the music wasnt too loud, pretty good ambience for talking:catching up with friends, and the menu was also reasonably priced. Would come back again!!
google avatar

Steven Z.

Yelp
This is a really cozy spot to grab a bite and drinks. The backyard patio is nicely set up and a great option for a group of friends. Big fan of sitting outdoors if weather permits. The cocktails are all solid. The burger leaves nothing to be desired, the patty is super tender and melts in your mouth. Ordering a large plate of fries for the table is a good idea too.
google avatar

Esther C.

Yelp
I came here the other day with my coworkers! It was honestly okay, I was expecting more from the food. The drinks, they were all really good and refreshing! Super summery and sweet, perfect for a hot day. We ordered the mac & cheese which sounds so good on the menu and the fish tacos, some of my faves. The photos even make it look good but honestly i wanted more richness / flavor from the mac and cheese! There was something missing from it, maybe adding bacon will help next time? The fish tacos, i mean they were good but they're small as hell lol -- the fish was crispy and i liked the slaw a lot but they were wayyyy too over priced, especially for the portions. overall, it didn't blow me away. the happy hour prices are pretty average, nothing i'd consider a 'steal.' i would recommend this place if you're looking for a cute ambience for a drink and maybe an appetizer, but nothing crazy. service was ehhhh as well, nothing to really blow you away.

Yelp
I've been twice for happy hour. They have a great garden for outdoor seating with heavy duty heating lamps during the colder months. Their happy hour deal included 10 dollar cocktails and 2 dollars off certain glasses of wine and beers. Their cocktails are on the stronger side, but they're so good that you wouldn't be able to tell until you're done. The food options are not included in the happy hour deal. I think the ambiance and the drinks are the highlights of this establishment.

Kamryn E.

Yelp
We came to New York for a wedding & went galavanting the next day eating our way through New York. We stopped at this place & im so glad we did. We got bottomless mimosas & the food was SO good. Great service wonderful atmosphere & music
google avatar

Sara L.

Yelp
Good spot for a beer and some food. The hush puppies were recommended and there great almost like a jalapeño popper but more doughy. The only thing I didn't enjoy was this barber bowl that was overdressed.
google avatar

Elena S.

Yelp
I randomly ended up at Sundays Well and I'm so happy I did! The drinks were so good, our bartender Young was AMAZING - she was personable and made our drinks perfect. I had the Spinach and Artichoke dip as an app and mainly had drinks but the ambiance was great and DJ was good - I'll certainly visit again!

Yelp
Cute neighborhood spot with good drink deals and a great brunch deal. Ideal for a girls night or casual brunch.

Yelp
Amazing ambience service food and drinks! Chill lo fi music- get the el Tigre & the popcorn chicken :)

Yelp
Think I just found my go-to bar post-lockdown!! Love that they have a nice backyard with spaced-out tables. Service was fast and friendly. Chill and ever-so-subtly romantic vibes. Oh and they also take Venmo.
google avatar

Irving T.

Yelp
We stopped by here and it caught my eye because it was intimate, had good music, and the environment seemed lovely. We ended up getting two cocktails (Smoked Mezcal Shake and East Sider (vodka) ) and they were amazing. Definitely recommend
google avatar

Kati B.

Yelp
Great new local spot with an outdoor back patio. This allowed for one of our first social gatherings in the months of covid. Drinks were delicious but be mindful that you will have to order food and can only pay via cash or Venmo (is this sketchy?). Beer and cocktail options were both great. I'm excited to return again when things are "normal" as their full food menu seems great and the vibe seems really casual but fun. Fingers crossed they have some heating apparatuses for the winter so we can stay outdoors!
google avatar

Sydney G.

Yelp
This is one of the best places in Kips Bay. Always try to sit outside if you can. Sometimes ill call ahead to see if its available. The vibes are always fun, the drinks are always delicious, and the staff is always kind and attentive. I've been here on first dates, in the middle of the day, and late at night and I can always guarantee a good time!
google avatar

Breanne M.

Yelp
The perfect cozy spot to meet for dinner or drinks with friends. The inside is beautifully done, the food is fantastic, and the outdoor courtyard is so much fun when the weather is nice. Haven't had a bad cocktail there either. Get the el tigre to drink!
google avatar

Jordan W.

Yelp
This spot is a hidden gem. Every cocktail (we got a bunch) was delicious, and the food was surprisingly good as well. The El Tigre, The Low Road, and The Eastsider were my favorite drinks, with probably The Low Road taking the crown. To eat we got the spicy popcorn chicken which had a great rub on it (with a bit of a kick), and the egg plant dip, which was good as well. Bud lights are only $5!! We sat out front at first because we wanted some sun and then moved to the back garden which was a great vibe

Anna H.

Yelp
This is my first time here and I give it a 9/10. I love the Sunday vibes it gives, great energy, good music, nice service and good food. The bottom deal is really nice, I haven't seen $20 bottomless in a long time. I really like this place for lunch/brunch, I'll definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Sunday's Well has the cutest patio area. Came here with a friend to have a few drinks and we also ordered a side a fries. The staff was super kind and funny. The patio area was not cold at all. You can now sit indoors if you prefer... The tables outside were spaced out and everyone was wearing a mask and taking the necessary precautions. I felt very safe there. The space heaters were on and I never felt cold while we were outside. I ordered El Tigre and it was a very refreshing Mezcal drink. I can't wait to return once the weather is warmer.
