Sundial Boutique Hotel (Whistler, British Columbia) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Whistler is home to, hands down, North America's finest skiing and snowboarding. Forget Aspen and Vail with their celebrity clientele, or the gentle hills of the Northeast — and forget about tacky Tahoe, steep as the slopes may be. Whistler is blessed with the best location, and the town itself is rigidly planned, a welcome respite from the grab-bag of faux-Swiss chalets and strip malls that comprise most ski towns." - Tablet Hotels

Sundial Hotel | Best ski hotels in North America

"While many of Whistler’s best hotels are chateau-style giants, bigger is not always better: this gem-of-a-hotel, located at the base of Whistler Blackcomb, has just 49 suites. The emphasis is on comfort: all suites have kitchens, fireplaces, bathrooms with heated slate floors, and some have private hot tubs (all guests have exclusive use of the rooftop hot tub). The hotel even offers a variety of pillows and toppers, to ensure guests have a perfect night’s sleep. There are three on-site restaurants: Black’s Pub is the place for an apres-ski burger and beer, tostadas and margaritas are on offer at the Mexican Corner, with sushi and sake in abundance at Sushi Village. We just stayed at the Sundial Hotel for two nights and had a wonderful experience! Great location. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The underground parking was very convenient, making our stay hassle-free. We especially appreciated the well-equipped kitchen in the room—it saved us a lot of money on dining out. We loved our stay so much that we’d love to come back in winter!

We enjoyed our stay at the Sundial Hotel in Whistler. It’s older, and not fancy, however the room was very spacious and clean. The staff were very friendly throughout the hotel but particularly the valet staff and front desk. Communication was the best with the hotel staff asking if we were having any issues. We found the bedroom warm and they responded immediately that they could install a portable AC unit in the bedroom. This was done within a half hour of us notifying them! The location is right along village stroll just steps from the gondola and chairlift. Black’s Pub in the hotel was good and Jeff, our waiter fantastic!!! Many other restaurants within short walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

We only stayed for one night and it was not long enough. The location is fantastic, walking distance to tons of shopping and restaurants. The room was very spacious and we loved the private hot tub on our patio. When I stopped by the front desk to ask how to get tickets for the Peak to Peak, Roxy let me know they offer them at the hotel. The whole staff was super friendly. We will definitely recommend and return.

We got a great deal, which made this a good value for money hotel in summertime. The location is excellent. The one bedroom suite was a good size and had a full kitchen. It was clean and reasonably quiet, despite a few Friday night rabble-rousers doing their thing out on the street. Service was generally decent. The only problem we experienced was that the bathtub drain was partially clogged, leading to standing water while showering.

Wow! We had a lovely time at the sundial. We stayed in one of the private hot tub suites and it was so relaxing. The views from our balcony were beautiful and the room was spacious and clean.|The hot tub itself was very new and had fun colored lights in it. Maintenance would come by every day to service it. |Heated floor tiles in the bathroom were also a welcome surprise, even in the warm summer, it was delightful to have a warm floor to stand on.|The staff was extremely friendly and the hotel is very centrally located. Everything in the village is pretty much a 5 minute walk or less! We can’t wait to visit again!||Highly recommend sushi village on the second floor of the hotel and the butterscotch ice cream at beaver tails across the street. Yum!

We’ve just returned from a three-week adventure through Alaska and Canada, and without a doubt, our stay at the Sundial Hotel was an absolute highlight! the one place we know we’ll definitely be coming back to.||From the moment we arrived, Gemma and Roxy made us feel completely at home. They were incredibly helpful, taking the time to explain in great detail where everything was and which activities were a must-do in the area. Their recommendations, especially the nearby lake trips did not disappoint.||The hotel itself is immaculate, beautifully maintained, and with the most divine pine scent. (I’m now on a mission to find a candle that smells just like it so I can bring that Sundial feeling home with me!)||Our room was a true home away from home, which meant so much after weeks of travelling. Every detail felt thoughtful and cozy.||Although we haven’t been skiing yet, Roxy and Gemma were fantastic at chatting us through everything (as we knew right away we want to make this happen in whistler) another explained everything from the different ski passes to the best months to visit for that perfect mix of snow and festivity. Their knowledge and warmth made us genuinely excited to plan a return trip to plan this again and of course at the sundial. ||Gemma and Roxy: you are both absolute gems (no pun intended!) and a true credit to the Sundial team. Your professionalism, kindness, and enthusiasm set this hotel apart from anywhere else we’ve stayed.||Can’t wait to come back. Thank you again for making our stay so special!||Also if you think the rooms look great on photos, they look even better in real life!

We stayed here for 2 nights during mid-week in July. Service was excellent. The rooms were fully equipped with a full kitchen and all the amenities for a comfortable stay. Location is great, also, within close proximity to all the restaurants and shops. We were initially assigned a room on 3rd floor located directly above the Pub. I would highly recommend if you want quiet and peace, to NOT get this room (or any room on that corner of the hotel). Otherwise, you'll suffer from crazy loud noise and music all night. Thankfully, after complaining about the noise a few times, the concierge relocated us to a room on the opposite side of the hotel on the 6th floor. We greatly appreciated this as the location of the room was AMAZING and had a private hot tub and complete silence. SO, big thanks to the hotel for this! IF you can, reserve the room #606 which has a rooftop hot tub facing the beautiful mountains. Sit in the tub and watch the sunrise. This alone is worth the cost of the room! It's absolutely amazing!! Only have one complaint --- the beds were not comfortable. I was unable to sleep comfortably on them (we got moved to 3 different rooms in total and they all were the same). I had to sleep on the couch instead. My husband also didn't feel they were comfortable as he said he woke up and felt his back was very sore. Otherwise, the rooms were stocked well, very clean and tidy, had amazing air conditioning (vital for hot summer days), and had sufficient supply of coffee. I would highly recommend this hotel for couples, family and friends!

My husband and I had an amazing stay at Sundial! We came for the MTB park and were happy with the security of the bike storage. Room was excellent and quiet. All of the hospitality team were so friendly and held conversations with us the whole time. We will certainly be back, hopefully one more time before the bike season ends. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Location, Location,Location this is in the village so you park and walk everywhere.Parking is 32 a night in a secure garage. Private rooftop hot tub . Some rooms have balconies and they have a very attentive staff . We were able to walk to dinner and very close to the lifts and shops. We had room 803 which is a single with a Mountain View. We even had a balcony. This upgraded room offers a choice of pillows and mattress toppers . The suite has a full kitchen so cook if you want. The minus of this room is noise while it comes with ear plugs. You hear the noise from the venue bellow starting at 6pm and last night it went past midnight. As a positive I texted the desk and they had the sound reduced The villages facing rooms have less noise per the front desk. It's been a lot of years since we felt like we were at a frat party minus the alcohol. Some rooms have two bedrooms and some have hot tubs. Two restaurants on second floor. As far as other guess we heard none. We were there for a day of fire alarm testing and window washing they keep the hotel clean. Nescafé in rooms and down stairs fresh fruit in lobby. Fireplaces in room.

Yelp
I went on a weeklong holiday to Whistler with my boyfriend and wanted to stay somewhere central that would have everything we needed for our perfect getaway. Sundial Boutique Hotel *was exactly* what we were looking for. After planning (and cancelling) our trip to Victoria (due to ferry terminal 'fun'), we decided to look for an alternative vacation destination, fairly last minute. Whistler came to mind and so I set out searching for the right accommodations within our budget. We took advantage of a Summer Deal to receive one night free, out of our week, which made this trip fall perfectly within our means, while also being cheaper than our original vacation budget! Sundial is centrally located in the Whistler Village, within walking distance of shops, restaurants, the ski slopes, Whistler Groceries/liquor store and pharmacies. The King suite (Room 301) that we rented was absolutely stunning. Spacious, comfortable, and with everything we needed. Upon first entry we were both thrilled by the personalized greeting basket we received from staff, with my name on it, as well as a personalized greeting on the TV! The little touches go a long way and it was clear that the Sundial has it down! Soon after first entry, we received a text from management (on my cellphone which booked the room) inquiring about our needs, satisfaction with the state of the room, etc. Throughout our week, regular check up messages were received and this was throughly appreciated. There are a number of restaurants on site, including a sushi place, Mexican, and a pub. See my review of Blacks Pub for our experience- needless to say we were happy, as it was located conveniently along with the others on the second floor. Partway through our stay, we called the front desk and took advantage of one of their complimentary Apple TVs, and were able to keep it for the duration of our stay to stream movies, music, and more to the living room tv, at no extra charge. And when required? We could ask staff for a room "replenishment" to have more coffee, fresh towels, and the like topped up and cleaned by the time we returned from an excursion in Whistler. Parking my car was easy, and safe, albeit at an additional charge, within their gated parkade. I appreciated this as we got a space right by the the elevator which made loading/unloading a breeze. Overall, we truly loved staying at Sundial Boutique Hotel and rate it as a perfect experience. I've stayed at a lot hotels over the years and this one has been a resounding "top of the class" in my books! For a destination like Whistler I'd expect no less, and will absolutely, hands down, be returning to stay again. Phenomenal job Sundial team! You made our stay absolutely brilliant :D

Yelp
We've had a lovely stay here at the Sundial. The suite we are in (401) is spacious, clean, and has excellent amenities. The full kitchen is a lovely benefit and will help to save on meals. The staff have been wonderful and very responsive when we've called with questions/requests. For example: I called to request a couple more pillows and when I mentioned I would be around the room (not skiing) because of knee pain the reception staff offered to bring me an ice pack. Truly excellent customer service! Our room (401) has a nice view of Whistler base. It can get a bit noisy because of the music and crowds below but after quiet hours--around 2200, it quiets down. We've slept very soundly. The carpet has some small stains and bathroom could do with an update but the room is clean and everything is perfectly functional. The heated floors and fireplace are amazing to have. We've been so impressed with the staff, amenities and the location I don't feel that some updating is worth docking a star. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
The room is definitely superb. Full kitchen, 2 bedrooms with sliding door to balcony where there was a nice private hot tub. Just the parking there is a little pricey.

Yelp
Louis our valet was amazing!!!! super friendly, accommodating and lovely to chat with. He was patient and answered questions about local business.

Yelp
I paid about $400 extra for the refundable rate room. 2 weeks before my trip, we had a medical emergency and needed to cancel. Unbeknownst to me, the refundable room is only refundable before 30 days from the stay. I booked the trip 31 days out, so it would've been really great if they were more clear about this. I spent $400 to get basically 20 hours to change my mind? Honestly, a legal case could be made - they do not properly share this information before booking. Anyways, they had a hard policy on this, and refused to work with me. Nowhere during booking does it say this, unless you decide to scroll multiple pages to find a small but specific clause in the terms and conditions. It's extremely shady. Human centipad anyone? I was able to cancel everything else from my trip besides this hotel. I cancelled flights, shuttle, another hotel, even my lift tickets! Everyone was willing to work with me and volunteer a refund on this medical issue and show some sympathy, except this hotel. Be warned - refundable rate means essentially nothing here. The unwillingness to work with me even a little has completely lost me from going to this hotel ever again. I also am going to explicitly tell people any time they are going to Whistler not to stay here. I travel often. We ski every year in Whistler. I have never in my entire experience had a hotel so stringent on such a consequential, uncommon, and completely unadvertised policy. If you're so strict - maybe let buyers know before they book! Awful. There are hotels that care about their customers in Whistler, go there instead.

Gabrielle Z.

Yelp
My husband and I booked a five night stay at this hotel and specifically selected the refundable option, which we paid extra for. About 10 days before our trip, we found out I was pregnant and could no longer make the journey across the country, let alone go skiing. We called up the hotel and informed them of the situation and asked if they could refund our trip. The manager was not flexible in any way, stating that they have a 30-day cancellation policy (which is not noted when booking the refundable room - only after the fact) and then told my husband that traveling early in pregnancy is not an issue. While I understand that there is a policy in place, a little customer service goes a long way and would have been greatly appreciated, especially considering that this was a medical issue. Furthermore, I think the manager should refrain from providing medical advice. We will not be staying here during any future trips to Whistler. If you do decide to book here, I would recommend you forgo the refundable option - it's of no benefit to the consumer.

Yelp
Great location right at the foot of the ski lifts. Just try not to get a room too low on the inner plaza side. Crowds and restaurants below can be noisy at night. Rooftop hot tub is not impressive because it's only available by reservation and the view is blocked by huge, wooden fence. Lobby is nice. Great coffee machines everywhere. BlackTie Equipment rentals right below lobby is very convenient. Good views from room (5th floor). Very attentive, efficient housekeeping staff. Clean. Friendly front desk agents. Would definitely return.

Brad M.

Yelp
The rooms are very nice and clean, plenty of towels. The staff was very accomodating in all areas from valet, front desk, even ski rental, all were friendly and helpful.

Yelp
This hotel is fantastic! My wife and I got married in Whistler over the past weekend and have been so pleased with everything about the Sundial! The staff, in particular, have been incredible. After our ceremony, Cameron and Chad helped our maid of honor clean up, spread rose pedals, and put (fake) candles all over our suite to give us a romantic surprise when we got back from the reception! Deanna and Veronika were so kind and went out of her way to check in with us daily and make sure we were taken care of so that we could focus on getting ready for the wedding. Deanna also went out of her way to help us store our wedding cake leftovers!! One of the housekeeping staff, Erin, also left us an incredibly sweet note congratulating us! Overall, the staff really went out of their way to make us feel welcome and helped to take the stress off of us as we scrambled to get the final parts of the wedding planning done!! The room was fantastic, as well! We had a suite with a private hot tub, which was always a perfect temperature, and was serviced daily when we were out of the room by some really nice staff members, whose names we, unfortunately, didn't get. All in all, amazing experience and we will definitely be booking at the Sundial for all future Whistler anniversaries!!

Yelp
I wish I could have stayed longer so that I had more to say! we checked in later at night around 9ish and had to leave at 730am. The front desk staff was cool. The rooms are nice! Stylish with very comfortable beds. Theres a ton to do around there (we were only able to experience night life)-they had hot apple cider in the AM. They have an outdoor hot tub that I missed out on but the suites (we got a two bedroom suite with a pullout) and the place was beautiful. I forget how much it is for valet but I am glad that they have that option.

Yelp
We are back in Whistler for the last weekend of the bike park, yet our decision to return was largely due to the AWESOME staff at Sundial. We found an amazing rate online the week leading up to Thanksgiving, so we had to take advantage! Our stay has been delightful. The front end staff are all terrific individuals who take an interest in the children and make a fuss of them which is alway lovely. So VERY VERY ACCOMMODATING, thank you Sundial Crew, we will be back without a shadow of a doubt!

Yelp
I was really impressed with this hotel. It offers so much! We stayed for 2 nights and were amazed that our room was more of a condo with a living space including full kitchen and table as well as a couch, TV and gas fireplace. The bedroom was adjacent and also had a TV and the bathroom was spacious, clean and well stocked and had heated floors. Our entire space was so cozy and wonderful. The staff at Valet and the front desk were so helpful and kind! The hotel has three restaurants and a hot tub on site and a pool across the street. This hotel is in the Village and close to many things. The only complaint I had is about the in- room coffee situation. They have a coffee pot and plenty of sugar but the coffee comes in those packets within a filter, so even though we brought our own coffee, there were not filters we could use to drink the coffee we brought. It seems strange to supply a coffee pot but no filters. Also, they only had powder creamer which I find to be gross. Usually upscale places have at least individual coffee creamers or can supply you with creamer. They could not however. I know it's a small complaint but it really would have helped make our mornings more comfortable.

Yelp
Omg, there are no words to describe how amazing this place is. We stayed here sophomore year of college after our initial hotel arrangements didn't work out (some of the smaller hotels are not keen on having 6 people staying in a 2 person room...). The guy at the front desk felt bad for us and not only scored us a reservation, but also upgraded our room to a TWO BEDROOM SUITE! Wait- it gets better. Not only did we have an EPIC room, we had a private balcony with a hot tub. Shenanigans and debauchery ensued involving many beers, a bear, Canadian Kurt, and a real life dancing queen with impeccable timing. I know I will never be able to afford to stay in a room like this again, so I will treasure those memories that were not affected by the aforementioned shenanigans and debauchery.

Yelp
Stayed here for a week! Great location and great rooms. The beds were so comfy and firm - they even have complimentary morning yoga on certain days which was a plus! It is located right in the village and right beside the gondola to go up to whistler mountain or Blackcomb mountain. We definitely will be back!

Yelp
This was my fifth stay overall and I have to say this will be my last. I decided to book a private hot tub suite however, I am a bit confused by the hotels definition of private? In addition, to paying 1K plus for the one night, my hot tub privacy was zero. This was after asking up front upon my booking that my hot tub was private from other's being able to see in, not private in the sense that we were the only ones able to use it. This issue for me was more of a nuisance an disappointment just because paying over 1k a night for what should have been a private romantic night with the wife was sort of missed. Moving on. Of more importance, is the quality of our room was disappointing as the molding in the bathroom around the doors was falling apart mostly because its cheap MDF and for whatever reason they were proud of it and didn't want to replace it. All of the interior doors were fading and need of re staining. There were area's of the wall's that were touched up with new paint however, it didn't even match well and you could see it. Why just not paint the whole wall? Our sliding glass door wouldn't even shut all the way as it was missing the latch to lock it and there was a 2" gap so you couldn't even shut up. Probably why they left the heat on so high so the room wouldn't get cold. My point with all this is that this Property considers itself to be a premiere property and its prices sure reflects that however, it seems it is relying on it's location more than it's relying on its own brand! Seems, they have no problem charging for luxury but finding a hard time delivering..... Time to spend my money elsewhere....Shame.....it use to be much better......Staff was pleasant otherwise.......

Yelp
We recently stayed there and have no complaints about our room. Its a good location and a decent room set up. But their cancelation policy is no good. We prepaid for 4 nights. 25 days before our trip, I tried to cancel the reservations due to changes in our plans and schedule. They were completely not ready to work with us. No cancellation within 30 day policy. That is dissappointing. Fair enough, it is the stated policy on the website. But disappointing none-the-less. I never got a chance to talk to the manager - the folks at the front desk promised me that he would return my call but never did. We ended up staying 2 nights and eating the 2 nights. Again, we tried for a refund or even just a credit for a future stay but no-one at the hotel was willing to entertain our request. Policy is policy but so is customer service. I live in Seattle and ski Whistler a lot. I would rather stay at a hotel that is willing to work with their guests a bit more.

Yelp
I booked a room for one night in March through Expedia. We stayed at a condo the previous two nights and then wanted to move our car closer to the hotel before we hit the mountain for the day. The girl at the front desk let us check in at 10 am and gave us a parking pass and tickets for free drinks at Black's Pub for later in the day. We got to move our car underground and then walk right to the gondolas which are just steps away. At the end of the day we came up to our room and it is gorgeous. Fireplace that turns on with a switch, heated tiles on the bathroom floor, and we really enjoyed the rooftop hot tub. For around $240 on Expedia, this is an amazing deal in Whistler. Parking is $21, which is about average for the town and probably cheap being soooo close to the slopes.

Yelp
I was just in Whistler for a friend's 30th birthday party weekend AND for Telus. Let me tell you, I do not ski or board, but we had an absolute blast!!! My friends and I stayed at the Sundial Boutique Hotel, which is in the center of everything in the village (in my opinion)! Our room was on the 6th floor and it overlooked the mountain. The views were breathtaking and we could see the stage that was set up for the weekend and the jump competition. The staff at the Sundial were extremely helpful and friendly. Our room included 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a kitchen, a living room, and a balcony. The only complaint is that it was tough for all of us girls to share one bathroom!! Our second day there we indulged ourselves with a quick dip in the rooftop hot tub! What a magnificent view from up there! The sun was shinning and before you step outside, the hotel has plenty of towels to accommodate. Since it was such a big weekend, Telus and Easter weekend, the Sundial was packed! There was an issue with one of the elevators not working for a day, so that made people pretty irritable, but the staff worked hard to get it fixed. The Sundial also has underground parking, which I believe was $20 a day. This place is so amazing and I hope to one day go back and visit!

Yelp
Located in Whistler town, this boutique hotel was charming and very customer service oriented. We stayed for 1 night in one of their 2 bedroom suites and it as perfect for the 4 of us. We definitely got use out of the hot tub on the balcony as it was a relaxing way to end the long day of ziplining and hiking. They offer free 1 hour bike rentals, partnered with affinity bike rental across the street which was nice. Valet was $32 for the night and they kept our car on the second day we checked out at no extra cost. They also kept our luggage before we checked in (since we arrived a couple of hours before check-in) and also after we checked out. Overall it was a very nice stay for an inexpensive price!

Yelp
I booked a 3 night stay at the Sundial Boutique for a few weekends ago through Expedia. They were having a buy 2 night get the 3rd free sale sometime in January. I believe the price averaged to be about ~$400 some dollars a night give or take for a 2 bedroom suite. I was happily surprised by the quality of the suite. Having stayed at the Pan Pacific Mountainside next door, (which is much more expensive) I expected much less. But the bathroom, kitchen and the two rooms were very up to date. The bed was ultra comfy and the tiles on the bathroom floor were heated. The amenities in the kitchen were new and we were able to cook dinner one of the nights. The proximity to the village and the two gondolas is unbeatable and the service was very prompt. They also provided Aveda products which I love! For the price and location, I was glad I stayed here instead of a VRBO, which when I looked into things required a 4 night stay in March.

Yelp
Stayed in the summer, great rates for the suite. Hot tub on the deck, right in the middle of the action. Overall very happy with the stay.

Yelp
All the room have kitchens and living room. Very good suit for vacation. The personal hot tub is the best!

Yelp
Loved the hotel and staff! Everyone here was super friendly! My family and I stayed in a 2br with a full kitchen. The kitchen had everything we needed. The room was really spacious and we felt like we could spread out. Not having been to Whistler before we wanted to experience staying in the village. Staying at the Sundial puts you right around the corner from the Whistler Gondola and several restaurants. Friday night was a little noisy but that was the exception. The towels were nice quality, great robes, the floor in the bathroom was heated and the toiletries they provided were nice (Aveda). The hot tub on the roof wasn't as great as we' d have liked but it was nice enough. The Sundial doesn't have a pool but you can use the one across the street. if they had a nice hot tub and pool it would definitely be 5 stars. We'd definitely stay there again.

Yelp
This was our family's first stay at the Sundial Boutique Hotel, and we will never stay anywhere else in Whistler again! The rooms were spacious, clean and cozy; beds are super comfy, heated bathroom floors are awesome after a long day of skiing, and kitchen is fully stocked for cooking. But far and away the thing that has made us loyal guests is the SERVICE! Daniel, Robert, Ben and Kate from the front desk were so incredibly accommodating; we had an issue that they dealt with so quickly and professionally, I couldn't believe it! They even treated our 9 and 12 year old boys with respect when we weren't around - such as when they checked out DVD's (its little things like this that I notice). Clearly the staff is trained to take care of guests, and it shows. Great job Sundial staff, and thanks again for helping to make our Spring Break so wonderful and memorable! ~ Goodenow's, Seattle, WA

Yelp
We came for a mini honeymoon after the storm of the year hit Vancouver and the Fraser valley. Beautiful hotel. We were greeted with a smile and they allowed us to put down cash as a deposit as we are the only people on earth without a credit card! Our room was so nice. Had a nice kitchen with a dishwasher, large living room with a fire place and a huge bed in the bedroom with a large bathroom. The view was spectacular. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. Love that the windows opened a bit for fresh air and that they had light blocking blinds for sleeping in a bit longer! Nice fuzzy robes to wear made it complete. We loved staying at Sundial and will definitely be back. Thank you for the champagne and chocolates!!

Yelp
It's very conveniently located right in the village near all the restaurants, which is convenient, but it can also be very noisy during construction and on nights of hockey games. The gondola access is right around the corner, as are many ski rental shops and stores like luluemon, Starbucks, etc. There are also marketplaces nearby (one closer in the immediate village area, another down the street a bit more that's larger). They offer special rates for returning guests, and off season prices are very reasonable, particularly if you go with a group. They have 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condos available with full kitchens, which are updated and very nice. They also give nice Aveda bath supplies. The staff is very friendly and willing to help any time. Parking is $20/day underground in a secured lot, and it's nice that it's within walking distance to anywhere you'd want to go in the village, since parking costs can add up elsewhere.

Yelp
I don't even know where to begin! We had the most wonderful stay at the Sundial Boutique! After an unfortunate incident at another hotel, we changed locations to the Sundial Boutique. Kate at the front desk was so incredibly helpful. We chose a 2 bedroom suite with a Mountain View and it was absolutely breathtaking. The room was clean, well layer out, and very comfortable for my family of five. I highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to return!

Cute hotel at the foot of the mountain. We stayed on the top floor and had our own jacuzzi. The view is incredible! You can see both mountains and much of the village. Out suite had a kitchen with all the utensils inside. Only thing that was missing was a toaster. Downsides: no pool or gym in hotel, no continental breakfast. Pros: great dvd selection (free), reasonably priced parking with in/out privileges ($20/day), and refreshing lemon water water in the lobby!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I booked Sundial last year, and were extremely happy with the location, services, and decor of the rooms. Rebooking this year with a large group of people completely ruins my perception of this hotel. They are not flexible, and have unclear terms on their website regarding their policy of booking a room with children. The policies simply aren't clear, or clearly marked. I can understand poor website design, however, the hotel staff and management are completely rigid and unwilling to compromise in the case of misunderstandings. Will I book again? If it's just me and my girlfriend, MAYBE. The fact that they are unwilling to compromise with misunderstandings of their policies really makes it so that I don't want to support this company with my business. I don't know.

Yelp
Horrible hotel with rotten employees. I have never been to a hotel with such bad service as this hotel. The front desk staff were extremely incompetent, especially an employee named "Luke". He was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. Requested to speak to a manager and his response was "There isn't one". What kind of hotel doesn't have a manager? Don't book here, go to the Westin instead (cleaner and better customer service)

Yelp
My husband and I were in Vancouver for our Honeymoon and decided to take a last minute trip to Whistler. When we originally booked online we weren't able to book for the 3 nights we needed, so we called the next day to see if they could help us. They were very nice and extremely helpful over the phone. They didn't have the same room available, but assured us they would make the transition as smooth as possible. A few minutes later the person we were speaking with, Deanna, called back and said they upgraded us into a 2 bedroom for the entire time so we wouldn't have to change rooms! Once we arrived and checked in we met Deanna face to face. We thanked her for the amazing customer service and mentioned it was our honeymoon and we were so glad she was able to accommodate us. When we got to the room there was a box of chocolates and a note welcoming us to The Sundial Boutique Hotel. A few minutes later there was a knock at the door. Deanna and the front desk had sent up a bottle of champagne and a very sweet note!!! We were floored! I can't say enough great things about this hotel and the staff. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Four of us stayed in a 2 bedroom valley view room for a week and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and the skiing. Roof top hot tub was much appreciated. The suite's kitchen was outfitted with everything we needed. IGA grocery store was walkable and we took a taxi back. Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Great spot for weekend getaway even if it is not ski season. Our room was great. Suite setup with separate bedroom. Kitchen. Small Balcony. Facing the Ski Hill. Hot tub on top of hotel can be big fun. Couple of insider tips. First use the free bike offer, your first hour is free and the bike guy will cut you a deal if you want to go longer. Second, this is usually the hotel you get when Picking a 4-5 star on Hotwire.

Yelp
Can't say enough about this place and specially the people. Perfect location right inside Whistler Village so walking distance to everything. But the best part was all the amazing staff that made us feel at home and went above and beyond to help in a very special anniversary weekend. The complimentary champagne bottle sent up as soon as we arrived in our room (a happy anniversary gift from the staff) was the start of an amazing experience. They were ALL amazing and special mention and thank you to Deanna, Greg and Chad. Next time we are up here we know exactly where we will stay. Thanks all

Yelp
Stayed here over the weekend for a trip up to Whistler for my Brother in laws birthday. The hotel itself was great. The room was big, nice and clean. Having a kitchen is a nice touch, but we werent able to use it since we werent in our room much (see next paragraph)The rest of the hotel was well put together as well. There is a rooftop hot tub that was nice, but unfortunately no pool or fitness room. Here is why its only 3 stars: I booked this place because it was right on the slopes, great view of the mountain. We were given a SW facing corner suite. One of those faced the Longhorn Saloon which starts playing very loud music at 8am and does not stop until midnight. Now you are probably thinking, "thats fine, Im going to head out to the slopes early anyway!" You would think so, but after a day of skiing, you might want to head back to your room, sore and tired, and want to relax or take a nap. NOT POSSIBLE with the high bass music from the restaurant across the street permeating your mind and soul. Your own music cant drown out the noise. The TV cant drown out the noise. We even tried to turn on the vent in the kitchen to drown out the noise, but could still feel the bass from the music. We ended up having to escape our hotel and go anywhere else to get away from the music. We were tired from being woken up early by the noise, mindlessly wandering the village. Not the relaxing trip i was hoping for. I would have tried to leave if we didnt already pre-pay the full price of our stay. Wonderful room, nice and friendly staff, but all that doesnt matter if i am driven away from using it. The free hot cider in the Lobby was good.

Yelp
First time I stayed here wasn't the best experience with the room and hot tub wasn't working and I ended up emailing Sundial directly and they ended up calling me and offering a free nights stay next time I'm in and made sure the issue was resolved. So the next time I stayed was even better. Can't think of staying in a different hotel in the village. Always get the hot tub room and so nice and modern decor. Comfy bed and cozy fire place. They have dvds and games at the front desk. Everyone is super nice. When the hot tub did work it was amazing on a cool evening. Full kitchen and everything you need is there. Thanks to the wonderful customer service resolving our issues we will always come back here. Always a nice getaway from Vancouver.

Yelp
Booked a 2 bedroom suite through Expedia for a night to bring family from out of town to Whistler in October. Not the best time to visit Whistler, but that's when the family was visiting, and the price was fantastic. The location is awesome. Right at the base of the gondolas. The staff was friendly, and attended to your needs right away. The room was spacious, with nice décor. The card accessed gated underground parking was a no brainer add-on, especially since my car had just been broken into the night before. We asked for a toddler bed in the room on our reservation, and it was there when we entered the room, but they didn't provide smaller pillow or comforter for it. Even the bed sheet they did provide was large, but that's not as much of an issue.

Yelp
Great location. Nickeled and dimed you. $33 per day to park. Older building. Staff were very nice. No pool at this location. They send you to another hotel across the street. Free bike rental for guests is only for 1 hour per stay. Misleading. Lobby smelled bad. Could use a better air freshener.

Yelp
This place is extremely well run. The staff seem very young but are obviously trained well and very professional. They did not flinch when I asked questions or made random requests (for example, my work requested a scanned document while on my vacation, the front desk cheerfully complied). We felt like this was the best value stay by far on our trip to the area. Cool hotel in the neat village area. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Seriously? 10 reviews? SERIOUSLY??? Now, I may not be a regular visitor to fancy hotels like this one, but this is by far the most amazing hotel I've had the pleasure of experiencing. I don't know how it's not ridiculously popular. Apparently I was lucky enough to find the best kept secret in all of Whistler. Seriously...if you plan to visit Whistler you need to stay here. There shouldn't even be any other options. So how, you ask, could a poor, lowly teacher afford such a lavish stay at the Sundial? Well, we splurged. We decided on Whistler for our honeymoon and I knew that I wanted our accommodations to be as perfect as possible. When comparing all the other upscale hotels around Whistler, this was by far the best bang for our buck. The Sundial did not disappoint. I discovered the Sundial after much online research and immediately began contacting them to find the best deal I could. Martine was my go-to person throughout the whole process. She found me the best bargain, gave me excellent advice, and her timely communication was top-notch. After much discussion (poor Martine had to put up with so many questions from me...), I decided on the Deluxe One bedroom with Private Hot Tub. I believe our actual room number was 705 if that helps anyone. Martine not only booked our room for us, but was available to give Vancouver hotel suggestions, transportation information, and even made advanced bookings for us outside of the hotel. (Like I said, Martine is a serious badass.) Now, let me please explain how awesome our room (more like four rooms in one) was. Heated floors in the bathroom, two fireplaces that made it so warm and cozy, a jacuzzi tub, full kitchen with everything you need, plenty of seating throughout the suite, a huge space with plenty of room for everything, and yes, our own personal rooftop deck and hot tub. SO. DAMN. AWESOME. The room was everything we could have asked for in a honeymoon suite. I was especially glad to have such comfortable accommodations after suffering through 24 hours of food poisoning. Yep, on my honeymoon. =( So, yeah, this room was perfect. We couldn't have asked for anything more. But the room isn't the end of my rave review. The location of this hotel could not be better. You can walk out right into the heart of the village or turn the corner and walk straight up to a Whistler lift or gondola. It was a dream come true to be able to ski right out of the hotel! I seriously don't know why there isn't a wait list to stay here. The rooms are larger than any other hotel around, the location is perfection, and the staff is helpful and friendly at all times (seriously!). There really is no other place to stay in Whistler. I cannot thank the people of the Sundial enough for an amazing honeymoon and overall experience. Our week there was exciting, relaxing, romantic, and just what we needed after a crazy wedding weekend. THANK YOU! P.S. After filling out a brief review of my stay, I received a personal note from the owner of the hotel in the mail. Wow! Talk about customer service!

Yelp
We stayed for 5 days and had a room with a private hot tub. What a treat. Coffee on the deck in the tub every morning before hitting the slopes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Beds were exceptionally comfortable...very important when you are skiing every day. Quick walk to both the Whistler and Blackcomb gondolas. A little pricey, but ultimately worth it

Excellent friendly helpful service. Great location. Superb beds and classy decor. Will definitely stay here when we come back to Whistler.

Yelp
The hotel itself is very nice and the location is amazing. However, the manager actually made my group feel unwelcome. He didn't even say "Welcome" before letting us know that the hotel zero noise policy and that we would be thrown out without a warning. He also made my friends who stayed at another hotel feel unwelcome to come to our room. Telling them they shouldn't be visiting us as frequently. The rest of the staff are amazingly helpful and friendly, the manager is a jerk.

Yelp
Very nice location in the heart of whistler. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice and clean. They have lots of amenities like free bike rentals and paddle board rentals for an hour. Have hot-tub and allow you to go to a neighboring hotel pool. No complaints!

Yelp
The room was a perfect lay out for our family of 6 with 4 teenage kids. The staff was extremely attentive. The custom pillow options were fun for the kids too. The location could not be better. We would return to this hotel again.

Yelp
This hotel is amazing. The pictures on the website don't do it justice. The hotel staff is super friendly and authentic. The location is probably the best in the entire town of Whistler, you are literally sitting above the lifts for both Blackcomb and Whistler. The free "ski valet" is a great touch as well. I've stayed at other places in Whistler, both on the mountain and away, and the Sundial has been the best so far. The floors are also heated in the bathroom which is a huge plus.

Janeen T.

Yelp
The hotel was wonderful. Extremely clean, beautifully decorated and the attention to detail was everywhere. I love the heated bathroom floors, cozy bed and extra large tub. Location is prefect, right in front of the lifts. Very quiet. We had a king bedroom, 2 TV's, fireplace and completely stocked kitchen with all essentials. I wish we could stay longer!

Yelp
Liked it alot..Staff was helpful as well as friendly. You can't get too much closer to lifts. The tub on the deck was killer at the end of the day. A word of warning..The bars are close by and the kids rip till 3 so it is loud. Then the back up warning beeps of the plows in the stroll start at 6 so not allot of sleeping in..I would go back for sure but bring some ear plugs along...
