Sune Restaurant

Absolutely loved my visit to Sune, and can’t wait to go back. Every urban area worth its salt needs a good neighbourhood restaurant, so it’s only fitting that the world’s greatest neighbourhood finally has a total banger in Sune (well, two, including Cafe Cecilia). Charming spot by the canal on a sunny day for alfresco or counter-tip dining, but I imagine the space would work really well at night too. Exceptional service from Ambel - welcoming, attentive and informative. I had the incredibly moreish flatbread and then a delicious short rib ragu. Clearly a lot of care is placed into the wine list also. It’s impossible to keep track of all the exciting London restaurant openings, let alone return to those you’ve already been to. But Sune is one I’d want to return to again and again.

Came here for my birthday dinner & honestly couldn’t fault it. I’d wanted to come for ages & I’m so glad I saved it for a special occasion. The staff worked so well as a team, as if it wasn’t just one person looking after us & they all wished me happy birthday, which was really lovely. Service was spot on, ambience was great, banging 80s tunes, and they even put a candle in my dessert. Hands-down the best restaurant experience I’ve had in London for ages. Would absolutely come back! ⭐️

Really lovely restaurant. A lovely spot right by Broadway Market. Really delicious food, but some bits felt quite expensive for the size of the portion, the cod’s roe & boquerones in particular. Nothing to fault with the food though, it all tasted delicious, nothing crazy or life changing, but really tasty. Service was good, quite overly attentive at points though and a little patronising when going through the menu at some points. Maybe they could gauge better individual tables and what they require/want from an explanation. Lovely atmosphere, a nice buzz, tables were close together though, especially tricky with big scarves and jackets in this weather. Also very dark in the evening with the candlelight. A solid place for a plate or two, but I did feel a little hungry after.

Gosh, I love this restaurant. So much so that I took a day's holiday on a random Wednesday just to go there and bask in the lovely service and sunshine, while enjoying their ridiculously good value lunch menu (3 courses for £29!). But of course, we had to start with some oysters and the legendary flat bread, which lives up to ALL the hype and then some. The service is always so warm and friendly, and I think the food just keeps getting better and better. This was probably my sixth time dining at Sune, and somehow it becomes even more of a joy with every visit. The staff are all so knowledgeable about everything that goes into the menu and wine list/drinks list, and clearly really care about everything around them (including each other). It makes for a really wonderful dining experience. Things are pretty tough out there right now. Every week, restaurants close and menus get more and more expensive. Eating out is increasingly a luxury to many of us, and as a result, it feels paramount that supporting local and independent businesses be the top of our collective priorities list. If you're spending your money in a restaurant, spend it wisely. Go to lovely local spots like Sune, who care for you and their staff and make it their mission to make you feel at home and leave well fed. What a special place.

Had an absolutely incredible lunch at Sune near Broadway Market for a friend's birthday celebration. The vibe is a perfect balance of casual yet refined. Super relaxed and warm, with food and service that quietly blow you away at every turn. We had the fire-grilled fish special, the homemade bread with cod's roe dip, oysters, mushroom tartare, and the fritto misto d’autunno — which lierally translates as “fried autumn” and honestly tasted exactly like that. It was like eating a season on a plate and like nothing I've tasted before! Every dish was spot on, and the potatoes were genuinely better than my grandma's - perhaps the best I’ve ever had. The sommelier recommended three off-the-beaten-track wines that somehow paired perfectly with what we were eating - absolutely on point again. Desserts... omg next level, and the homemade chocolate truffles were delicious - and very nice touch. I'm still dreaming about them. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. You feel properly looked after without being too fussy or formal. I’ve already booked my next visit and the pork chop is on my bucket list as i saw someone else order it and got serious food envy. Can’t recommend this place enough.

I had one of the most amazing hospitality experiences in my life at Sune for lunch today! The food was absolutely BANGING!! And then the service.. have no words to describe how exquisite Owen hosted us today! This was masterclass in hospo! He was attentive, nuanced, warm, friendly, funny, and super knowledgeable and professional. He struck the perfect balance! Seriously exceptional 🥂 it was a very special moment for me and my friend today and a meal that we will never forget! Thank you so so much for building and directing such an amazing place! A gem I hope stays so I can tell my future kids to go to and experience a rare and unreal food experience. Perfect marriage of relaxed, dark-lit cosiness and swish, effortless excellence. The energy is instantly inviting, the crowd is great, and the vibe is impeccably set. We had counter seating. We were looked after by the barman, and his service was a masterclass in hospitality - attentive, knowledgeable, genuine and never intrusive. The spectacular negroni, served with those perfect, clear ice cubes, was the first sign you're in the hands of something good. The food is truly on another level: The Famous Flatbread with Whipped Cod's Roe: A must-order. It is, quite frankly, elite. Kale Fritters: A dish that redefined the word 'wow'. The flavour profile of the fritters and their accompanying sauce was genuinely unexpected and absolutely phenomenal. The fact they had Game (Pheasant) on the menu shows a kitchen that is both fun and serious about quality sourcing. It was cooked perfectly. From the savoury dishes right through to the flawless Espresso Martini, everything was executed with relaxed precision. This is a place where every member of the team, right up to the super nice owner we met, has natural and genuine vibes. It’s rare to find a spot that achieves such a high standard without an ounce of pretense. A true masterclass in how modern, genuine hospitality should feel. I’d recommend to anyone to make the trip. You won't regret it. Incroyable!!

Simple food done very well. Staff is super friendly and kept us entertained and well taken care of. Wine list is a bit steep. Food is enjoyable, well cooked and tasty but nothing surprising. Small plates to start with but mains are a proper size so do not be tricked into order too much.
