"This brunch spot on Sonoma Plaza has a big menu of smoothies, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, egg dishes, salads, and more—truly something for everyone. The buttermilk biscuit sandwich, with soft-scrambled eggs, cheddar, shallot-leek conserva, and gochujang aioli, is especially tasty. No matter the weather, grab a seat on their covered back patio, which has a bright and cheery vibe, with sunflower-yellow chairs and tons of brilliant greenery." - allison green

Google
Great spot right in the center of Sonoma for brunch/lunch! Decided on peppers stuffed with goat cheese for an app followed by the chicken avocado grilled cheese (delicious!) with a side of homemade tomato soup and the squash salad. Great fresh food! Staff was kind and service focused. The back patio had a great vibe and offered multiple table options with shade, sun or heaters!

The patio was so fresh, bright, beautiful, and cute that it instantly put me in a good mood. The servers were friendly, and all the drinks and food on the menu looked so good that it took me a long time to decide. But everything I picked was absolutely delicious! If you’re looking for a fresh and delicious brunch, I totally recommend this place :)

Google
A Perfect Breakfast Spot If you're on the hunt for a delightful breakfast experience, look no further! This restaurant is a hidden gem that excels in fresh pastries and offers a fantastic selection of brunch options, including mouthwatering sandwiches. During my visit, I tried the Autumn Scramble and the Wagyu Steak Grilled Cheese, both of which were nothing short of phenomenal. The flavors were fresh and perfectly balanced, leaving me wanting more. To top it all off, their coffee is exceptional, and the freshly squeezed juices are a must-try. If you're looking for a place that serves quality food and drinks in a cozy atmosphere, I highly recommend stopping by. You won’t be disappointed!

Google
Just perfect! First off, I hate that I have a bad memory and forget our server’s name, but it was truly the best, friendliest person we had at any restaurant ever! The place is lovely and EVERYTHING we had was delicious! My son that thinks everything is just ok, was impressed. He lives in Mountain View and said he’d drive back just to go to this restaurant again! Great start to our day in Sonoma! Love this place, can’t wait to come back!

Google
Nice little place in sonoma. Great food and service. Seating inside can be tight but overall it was good experience.

Google
Polite, friendly, and fast service! The bacon egg and cheese on brioche is a must, especially with their hot sauce. Definitely a charming spot on a rainy Thursday morning.

We loved the experience at this place so much we went back the next morning. Food, Service, Atmosphere is all top notch. Would highly recommend this place.

Google
Amazing outdoor patio dining experience! The food is first class! The steak grilled cheese has a delicious flavor that makes this a premium grilled sandwich! The grilled chicken in the kale Caesar salad was fork tender and delicious! Recommended Sonoma experience!!!

Yelp
We walked right in during January weekday breakfast hours. We really had a terrific server and the food, while simple, was outstanding. We enjoyed the Bacon Egg and Cheese sandwich and the chicken and cheese sandwich on grilled sourdough bread. It's a great place to grab breakfast or brunch.

Yelp
Very cute place. I was initially worried about outdoor seating, but they have heaters and it's quite pleasant! Service was super friendly and efficient - I think the food was done in like five minutes. Speaking of the food, it was good! I'd say it was a little on the basic side, but it was clearly made with quality, fresh ingredients. Initially when the food arrived at the table, I was a little disappointed at the portion size, but by the time I finished eating my mind was changed about that - I wouldn't have wanted any more food. A few notes, the bacon came crispy. I liked it that way, and thought it was perfect, but my friend found it too crispy. Just a matter of opinion but worth keeping in mind. I'm not sure what the jam was, maybe strawberry? But it was yummy if not a little sweet. Overall, a good experience, I'd recommend it, and I'd come back. I'm deducting a star because originally I was going to order a waffle, but both my friend who had been here before, and the employee here that I asked, said it was a single, small, light waffle. And if they're asking $19 for a single waffle, I would expect it to be bigger than that run-on sentence I just created.

Yelp
Food - delicious. Healthy and indulgent at the same time. Service - very accommodating Ambiance - cute inside and back patio

Yelp
Sunflower Caffe! My husband and I spent a few days in Sonoma for our anniversary and we had a wonderful brunch at Sunflower. We sat in the back patio which was so cute and fully in bloom. Although the caffe is fitting for any visit, I could just picture cute little breakfast dates or a gals brunch because of the bright and beautiful ambience. Service was great. My lavender latte was wonderful and the food was good too. Nothing that blew my mind, but it was delicious.would recommend!

Yelp
Located right on Sonoma Square with a chill backyard patio, this breakfast/lunch place is a gem. I had a fluffy cheese and egg biscuit sandwich...the eggs (done in the French soft scrambled style) had a pleasing smattering of chives mixed in. There was also a splash of gojuchang sauce, giving it a unique kick. My dining companion had the autumn scramble, which was studded with root vegetables...perfectly seasoned with sage. However, the big star of that plate was the bread. It was so good that we had to ask the (very kind and friendly) server where it was from, which was Panorama Bread in SF (wholesale only, sadly). They served it some amazing fruit jam. Of course all this goodness has already been discovered by many, so prepare to wait a bit for a patio table. But the plus is that parking is pretty easy and there's a cool Ace Hardware-style store next door with a lot of great kitchen and home goods to browse while waiting.

Yelp
This place is absolutely beautiful. Especially their patio seating. We were here in December, and it was still pleasant to be seated outside. Each table had its own heater, this was a big reason we could enjoy our lunch. As vegetarians we tried the following: Avocado toast : 4/5: This was really tasty. It had a bunch of stuff along with avocado. Did think it was pricey. Banh Mi : 4/5. This was a really nice sandwich, the bread was soft but was toasted well. Enjoyed the veggies that came in it. For drinks we tried the mocha and latte. Both of them were good. Only reason to dock a star is that it was a pricey place for breakfast.

Yelp
This has quite easily become one of my favorite places to make the drive to for the food and the vibes. Sunflower Caffe is a beloved place in Sonoma that my family and I have come to love. The staff here are so incredibly attentive and are honest about their menu. I had asked once about a menu item and the waiter was so forthcoming about how I could make a better choice and since then, I have always found that I want to come back due to the honesty. I will say from experience, the best time to come is late spring/early summer when the weather is perfect for the outdoor patio area that seems to be their main dining area. It's also the most perfect time because their flowers in the vicinity are in bloom and fragrant. As for the food, it is mostly all delicious and the best thing we always love ordering is their peaches and cream waffle in the summer. I would say skip on the stuffed peppers unless you really enjoy things like it. The smoked salmon dip is much better in comparison with depth of flavor and more variety to the plate. If you're looking for a cute brunch place before winery tours, I suggest you come here for the ambiance, the gorgeous garden, and the wonderful food.

Yelp
This spot was highly recommended for brunch and I was not disappointed. Aside from the adorable theming, their outside patio is absolutely gorgeous. Lovely fountain and lots of lush greenery make for a serene dining experience (save for all of the pop music playing). Service was attentive and our PSLs and food came out very quickly. Their pumpkin spice latte is very mild, lovely foam. Their biscuit breakfast sandwich has a lovely soft scramble egg and the gochujang sauce isn't spicy. Wish the biscuit was toasted a bit more. The breakfast burrito comes wet and reminds me of an enchilada. Not the best but certainly not the worst! Lots of sour cream. FYI there's a 4% charge auto-added to your total.

Yelp
I recently came to Sunflower Caffe for breakfast, and had the opportunity to sit in one of their inside tables. They have a great backyard patio area that is available as well, if the weather permits. We tried the Turkish Eggs and the Breakfast Burrito. The turkish eggs were quite unique - something different from most items that I've had. The eggs were perfectly poached, and the dish being served with essentially a savory yogurt was quite unique. The breakfast burrito was solid as well, it was fairly loaded with ingredients and was topped with a generous amount of salsa and crema to supplement the dish. Our toddler enjoyed the blueberry-banana smoothie. He quickly drank half of the smoothie while he was enjoying a few bites of food here and there. Their prices are a bit steep for what you get, but their location in the Sonoma Plaza makes it somewhat to be expected. As a side note - they have a 4% health charge added to your check. I didn't see my check before selecting a tip, and only realized that there was this added fee at that time (it was on the menu, but I didn't notice it).

Yelp
Sunflower Caffe has all of the Sonoma charm you'd expect in a prime plaza historic location, complete with outdoor seating across their secret garden-y back patio space where we asked to sit. I knew I wanted to sit outside because 1.) duh, the weather here is quintessential patio-weather as long as it's shady, and 2.) I saw photos on Yelp and thought "that's exactly where I want to sip coffee." The patio is big but still cozy, entirely covered, and has lots of big green leafy plants and sprawling green ivies, bright yellow patio furniture, and cobblestone flooring. It's a clean and cute little hideaway in the middle of the busy plaza. We arrived at opening on a Saturday morning and were seated right away. This place definitely fills up fast, especially on a weekend. Our waiter was sweet and attentive and handled a lot of parties at once. I started with a much appreciated and needed espresso, then the guava mimosa which was super fresh and fruity, but maybe on the too-sweet-side for me... I usually prefer grapefruit or cranberry with bubbles for that extra bitter bite. Meanwhile, I thoroughly enjoyed the gluten free oat waffle with peaches and cream (and syrup and butter) plus a side of sausage. It was all top quality, nothing but yummy, beautifully plated food. This was one of my most enjoyable breakfasts ever.. if I lived nearby I'd maybe become an actual morning person..!

Yelp
The back patio of the restaurant was lovely. Spacious and shaded with trees. We had a quiet corner booth. The service was quick, efficient, and friendly. The lattes, to start, were delicious. The variety of food was great! They had different choices apart from the typical brunch dishes. Generous portions. A wonderful gem in Sonoma!

Yelp
First time we were there but for sure we will go back every time we visit Sonoma. Is love sitting in the Courtyard. Love a place with great coffee and this place qualifies for that! And their breakfast entrees are just beautifully prepared and quite delicious.

Catrina W.

Yelp
First time in this lovely walk-in café with two front entrances. I joined a friend who was sitting in the rear courtyard where a three tier water fountain trickled in the center. About 20 or more tables were full. The courtyard was surrounded by lovely greenery and abundant flowers. Service was fast and friendly. I had a green juice smoothie and egg and cheese sandwich. My friend had a 16 ounce latte with an order of Turkish eggs. Tables cleared and new visitors were rotated in while others were rotated out very efficiently; yet we never felt rushed at all. Our food and drinks were excellent and the courtyard ambience gave it an extra special vibe. A 4% health and happiness fee was added to our bill. Given our very positive experience, I was both surprised and happy to pay for the well-being of their great staff. Sonoma can get quite warm, so breakfast or an early brunch would be recommended. Parking on the square is abundant until about 11 AM.

Yelp
Super cute breakfast joint in Sonoma! We were lucky enough to snag a table on the beautiful patio. We came here on a busy Saturday morning, so I definitely recommend arriving early to ensure a seat. Our server was very nice, but it was obvious he was feeling overwhelmed -- we were a large group as is, and I'm sure he had multiple others tables, so it was very understandable. Aside from a few hiccups on drink orders, everything came out correctly. The menu is farm-to-table style, which is my favorite when it comes to breakfast and brunch. The vanilla latte was the perfect drink to sip on while waiting for my breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was the classic bacon, egg, and cheese with garlic aioli on a brioche bun. I do wish it came with a side for more a complete meal. A side of breakfast potatoes is an additional $7 which seems to be a little excessive. Overall, super cute breakfast joint in downtown Sonoma!

Philip F.

Yelp
Spectacular breakfast/ brunch. Egg/sausage burrito - loaded and delicious Cubano sandwich- same as above. Generous portions, full of flavor Pleasant, attentive service, from front desk, server and helpers. Mostly patio seating in a lovely setting. Lots of heaters. It was a 55degree day and we shed coats! On a Sunday in Jan, we were told the wait was 15 min, our phone buzzed in9 min

Gabrielle L.

Yelp
Great ambiance on the back patio, and they even offer cozy blankets for chilly mornings. The food was great but the service was a little lacking. Overall a great experience.

Izel T.

Yelp
Great and kind service!! Delicious Turkish eggs! And such a cozy place to settle in the morning :o]

Lance C.

Yelp
First time here! Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in Sonoma The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience at the sunflower cafe. The food is absolutely amazing - everything we tasted was delicious. The food just melts in your mouths. Absolutely the best breakfast meal we had while in Sonoma. Highly recommend! Check them out.

Courtney C.

Yelp
Sunflower cafe is such a nice, bright brunch spot! I love their Benedict and their waffles. Their burrito is okay, it's a lot of potato and a served wet. Their coffee is good, and their mimosas are pretty good although maybe a little watered down (what mimosas aren't?) Their backyard garden is my favorite spot to sit with a great ambiance, sitting on the sidewalk in front of the store is nice but does not get a lot of shade.

Ashley L.

Yelp
Super cute cafe with lovely outdoor garden seating in a courtyard. This place always has a line, especially on the weekends and they don't take reservations, so plan to come early! If you have a smaller group (4 people or fewer) you might wait less. My friends and I came here on the Sunday morning during Labor Day weekend on our Sonoma wine tasting trip. I think we arrived around 10 a.m. and joined the queue behind two other people. Once it was our turn after maybe 5-10 minutes, we were seated immediately. We were seated at a four-top table in the shade which was great. Two of us ordered the summer scramble (it's not on their menu currently since it's since changed from their summer menu to fall menu) but it had goat cheese and came with dressed greens. I got a chai latte which was good, but not spicy. The food overall was good, but just your standard brunch fare. I do appreciate though that the ingredients seem high quality, and they list their vendors at the bottom of the menu. Since it was a holiday weekend, or maybe because we didn't order mimosas, we felt like we were being rushed. Our drinks and food came too quickly for our liking and it felt like they were trying to turn over tables quickly for the massive line outside. Overall, go for the outdoor seating and ambiance, but it's not the place they want you to relax and stay a while, especially during a holiday weekend.

Kristin H.

Yelp
Delightful, sunny setting. Friendly staff. Delicious food. I wanted to try to waffles but went with avocado toast instead. Not at all disappointed. New take on avocado toast - they have shredded Brussels sprouts on top. Unexpected but delicious! Also love that their bread is appropriately toasted and not at all soggy. My husband said he just ate the best breakfast burrito he has ever had. And he is the breakfast burrito connoisseur! Green chilies, large potatoes and tomatillo. Man-approved. Lovely setting. Music kinda loud. Special bonus: dog friendly, so you can peep all the cute pups.

Wayne G.

Yelp
This place has plenty of patio seating and limited indoor seating. With the fans running outside and the shades it's comfortable. The server shows he wants minimal time at the table and stood over me as I selected the TIP. The breakfast and scramble pictured are okay, nothing special. The eggs are not farm fresh as advertised based on the lack of flavor (I've eaten eggs the day of delivery many times). We expected more based on the reviews. I'd planned to get dessert but based on lunch will pass.

Madison P.

Yelp
Oh my god soooooooooo good. First of all, I would definitely recommend sitting in the garden patio area if the weather allows because it is gorgeous!! Even if the weather isn't perfect, they have lots of umbrellas and heaters around the tables that the very friendly staff is happy to assist you with! I started off with a lavender oat latte, which was great high quality coffee and a really nice lavender taste that didn't taste too sweet or artificial at all. My specialty coffee barista/coffee snob boyfriend was very happy with his cappuccino, as well, so that's how you know it's good! The food was incredible. My turkish eggs were delicious and paired with yummy crusty sourdough toast. Everyone was beyond satisfied with the service, the atmosphere, coffee and brunch! This was my first time in Sonoma, and I would come back just to eat here again.

Julian G.

Yelp
Just got home from wine country and i'm STILL thinking about the biscuits and eggs here. There's a reason why there's a line out the door for this place. You should plan your morning around the food here.

Janae L.

Yelp
We had an amazing breakfast here. Sweet service with outdoor seating and heaters that worked so well w had to turn ours off. We ate the breakfast sandwich on the biscuit and it was delicious. The egg is cooked like a French omelette style. The aioli sauce was amazing and the biscuit had a great texture. The almond croissant was to die for and we ordered two more to go. Highly recommend this little place!

Nina A.

Yelp
Came for brunch after a wonderful night out on the town in Sonoma. Sunflower does not take reservations so plan accordingly. You will wait in line, give your number, they will text when the table is ready! You will be asked to specify where you want to sit (outside, rather than not caring). Once seated, you'll be able to order mimosas by the bottle. They have 4 different flavors from classic to lavender mist. One bottle is about 4 classes. The food is excellent portions if you're looking for something on the larger side, which I certainly was! I fancied the breakfast burrito which had the tastiest sausage & bacon wrapped in the fluffiest egg. I cleaned my plate. The wait is worth it to sit outside in the back. The lavish greenery with the yellow flowers & chairs is truly everything. Something amazing I noted, on the menu it says, "In lieu of accepting tips, we apply a 15% Health and Happiness surcharge to your order. This helps us pay our team above the living wage in addition to, medical coverage, 401k with company match, monthly wellness bonus, paid time off and more." I thought this was super important & awesome to point out. Great work Sunflower for paving the way & taking care of your team. Sunflower has been around for a while for great reason! If you've not been, you sure need to!

Yelp
3.5 STARS Date: Saturday, February 3rd, 2024 Time: 2:30pm Party of: 5 Meal: Brunch / Lunch *Wild Mushroom & Goat Cheese Scramble ($17) *Smoked Salmon Benedict ($27) *American Breakfast ($17) *Chips & Caviar ($21) *Sunflower Grilled Cheese ($16), add Tomato Soup ($6) *Side Bacon ($9) *Pistachio Latte ($7) *Cappuccino ($5) *Drip Coffee ($4.50) x3 After wine tasting, it was time to eat! Decided to drop by Sunflower to check it out. We walked right in and were seated immediately in the back in the patio. No wait at all. Tho it was a very chilly day, so not a lot of people out and about. Food wise, I thought everything was pretty good. Especially the grilled cheese dipped in the tomato soup. Very comforting. I love fish roe, so wanted to try the chips and caviar. I think it needed onion or something to cut into all the saltiness. Roe = salty, chips - salty, it needed more than just the creme fraiche and chives. I was very happy with the coffee here. And our server kept it coming which was much appreciated. One thing to note, they do charge a 15% Health & Happiness Tax (which is subject to sales tax). I'm pretty sure this goes to all staff members, so we didn't consider that our tip. We did only tip 15% instead of the usual 20% plus, since the machine included the health tax in our subtotal. Just one thing to note since you may be spending over 40% of the food and drink costs on tip and tax. I did our calculations and with sales tax, it was an extra 42.59%. Glad I checked this place out. It's cute. And on a nice day, I'm sure the patio is super fun. But food wise, I thought everything was just A-OK. Bumping up for the awesome coffee service. NOTE IN RESPONSE TO COMMENT ON REVIEW: I wish our server said something as we were openly discussing the Health and Happiness Tax (and what it included) before we paid the bill. Or reminded us when we were paying that tip was already included. Why is tipping even an option if that is the case?! Glad the menu is changing to address the confusion. Tho the server really should have reiterated that tip was already included when we paid. Feels worse knowing I accidentally tipped twice vs just paying a tax and then tipping on top. Everyone, learn from my mistake!

Yelp
Stopped to get breakfast after a LONG drive from Los Angeles. The food was delicious, and I enjoyed the latte. I got the egg and bacon biscuit. The bacon was good quality and the biscuit was fluffy. Staff was very attentive and inviting. It filled up with customers  rather quickly -- comes to show how great this place is!

Tim L.

Yelp
Casual but warm and cheerful atmosphere. It is best to get here earlier than brunch, particularly if it's sunny out. Came here on a lazy Sunday with clouds and it was still bustling but classy and friendly from host to waiters. We got three primary dishes with the duck sandwich, salmon eggs Benedict and Turkish eggs. These three were decadent and definition of comfort foods delicious. All highly recommended. We also had hot chocolate, drip coffee, mocha and the peach mimosa. All fully up to snuff. We will be back again.

Jenny X.

Yelp
This place is such a cute find in Sonoma! I've been twice now and they're always so popular with good reason. Good: - it was a rainy cold day and they gave us heaters and blankets! Great nice staff that also gave us a froyo for a birthday girl - Loved the avocado toast - tasted healthy and was also packed with good flavor and very crispy - Wellness juice shots were fun to get here - Cute sunflower theme Bad: - A bit slow on service since they have so many people Overall would come again! A fun place to go with friends.

Bruce K.

Yelp
Eggs benedict for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Sonoma was busy today so there was a 20 minute queue to place our order. It's a pretty organized system to wait for a cashier, place your order and then go inside to find a table. Dawdling afterwards isn't really encouraged. My breakfast was very good. Perfectly poached eggs on a thick slice of salted ham over their house-made bread with a spring salad on the side. Coffee was good. It seemed like once the food was dropped off, we didn't have anyone stop by and where we supposed to refill coffee ourselves? [Review 21008 overall - 525 in California - 1993 of 2023.]

Yelp
There are many great things to say about Sunflower caffe. However there were some things that I believe they can improve on. Ambiance: I liked the way this place looked. From the front of house to their backyard seating area, it was atmospheric and clean. Service: This was great! I had a great server who recommended items off the menu when asked and answered all of our questions. Food came out quick and he came to check in on us appropriately. Food: I got the buttermilk biscuit sandwich. I loved the egg and cheese on this however, the biscuit itself was a bit tough. Salad was simple but great. My party also got the Wagyu Steak grilled cheese and this is probably the best dish from my group, as I had a little bit of everyone's dish. The steak was tender, the bread crispy and soft, the sauce was a great mixture of spice and tart. This was an all rounder must try. The Grilled Cheese, Chicken and Avocado sandwich was good too but the chicken was a bit too dry for me. Beverages: I got the Boylan root beer. This was by far a watered down version of a root beer. I assume it's because they use real sugar cane but I would not order again. BTW this is by no means a fault to Sunflower Caffe or the kitchen as this is just a brand name root beer that they probably sponsor. The vanilla iced latte was good and had a unique taste to it, not your typical style that you would get from Starbucks or anything. There is one gripe I had about this place and it is regarding the fans. Now the weather was around 80-ish and while I did appreciate the many fans hanging on the corner of each rooftop for the backyard seating, it was rather too powerful. So much so that it was blowing the napkins away. It was also too loud that my party had to speak a little louder just to hear each other. If they can lower the strength of it, that would be perfect, otherwise, it's just blowing semi-hot air towards you ~ not pleasant. Conclusion: Would I come back? Yes, definitely! The gripes, although several, were minor enough for me to warrant a return. I would like to try other things off the menu if I happen to be near this area and would recommend others to come and try as well. Total score = 4.3 stars

Michael S.

Yelp
Really 3 1/2 stars: Nice outdoor garden setting for breakfast and lunch on 1st street in Sonoma with efficient service and beautiful gardens. My 1st visit to Sonoma and here is lies the rub: I was disappointed when the one Pilsner beer choice and one can-o-wine choice were sold out. While they had mimosas ($14) available, I was disappointed that a popular Sonoma restaurant in the heart of wine country had such limited beer and wine options. Food: a little expensive, but fresh and well prepared. The lamb sandwich $25 was delicious with shaved tender rare lamb on a crispy hero roll. The butternut squash wrap $19 was tasty and the grilled cheese, chicken and avocado $25 was prepared on crispy Italian bread. Fresh salad with each sandwich. A 4 percent health and happiness fee added to each bill pre-tax automatically. So if you don't see it and add on an average tip - you can be well over 20 percent.

Liza G.

Yelp
Stopped in for breakfast while in the area. Cute decor with yellow & white awnings. Limited menu without substitutions. I ordered their waffle which comes with blueberry compote and asked if instead of the compote I could just have a couple of fresh raspberries. I was told that those were reserved for those who were ordering the chia seed pudding that comes with it even though I would have been more than happy to pay extra. The waffle that arrived was so delicious, it made me forget about wanting any berries. Cooked to perfection and picturesque plus bonus points for Vermont maple syrup. Vanilla almond milk latte also superb. Food is amazing, but just be aware that substitutions are not accepted.

Cynthia W.

Yelp
I love this place. The food is always good and both outdoor dining choices are top notch and ambiance-rich. Local community leaders eat here, so if you want some tea on local sonoma issues, just hang out here with your ears open. Food's great, service is great.

Ryan B.

Yelp
Outstanding brunch, not great for kids. The staff is friendly and the service was fantastic. I would highly recommend the biscuit sammy! If your party is larger then 4, get there early.

Devin D.

Yelp
The Sunflower Cafe is a cute brunch place on the Sonoma Square. The service is always excellent, and the food is always good for a small bite. Although they don't have many options and for the price, I was expecting more. The service and ambiance were fabulous, though. We got a Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Sandwich w/ avocado and avocado toast. For the drinks, we got mochas and a latte. The food was good, but it wasn't anything special. Also, the avocados were black on our food. Overall, I would rate the food 3/5, the drinks 4/5, the ambiance 5/5, and the service 5/5. I would go back to this brunch place, especially for the drinks, ambiance, and service.

Courtney S.

Yelp
Such a great little spot if you're looking for a casual brunch to eat on a patio. They have a variety of coffees, juices, and alcoholic beverages. The menu is small, but has a lot of good, unique food to choose from. I had the shaved brussel sprout avocado toast for lunch and added a poached egg. It was filling and delicious. We started with the chips and caviar, which had a smoked flavor that suited the lays and crème fraiche perfectly. The patio was as a great place to sit and enjoy the breezy afternoon.

Dennis W.

Yelp
A group of us came here for our first meal of the day after wine tasting nearby. It was close to their closing time on a Saturday and they were very accommodating and we didn't feel rushed at all by their friendly staff. As is the norm with this group, they like to order as much of the menu as possible to group share. I ordered a Cappuccino to speed up my recovery and it was solid. I also liked their Grilled Cheese(with a small side salad). Overall, the food is closer to 3.5 stars and service is 4 stars. Once again, I wish Yelp would allow half stars in our ratings. What was not made abundantly clear is the 15% Health and Happiness charge they charge on all tabs is in lieu of a tip.

Yelp
Love the ambience in their backyard, and I like their brunch menu. Has tasty choices for everyone. They do not allow dogs in their backyard which we were disappointed about as Sonoma is usually very dog friendly. They allow dogs in their front seating area but I am not driving to Sonoma for brunch to sit on the sidewalk

Yelp
If you're looking for a breakfast / brunch place around Sonoma, this is the place. The food, drinks, outdoor ambiance and staff are awesome. But it can get packed quickly, especially on the weekends. So go early, or plan to be in line.

Yelp
Best Afagto! Everything else is average tasting. Recent staff is so so. They can really improve on theur customer service. You could be waiting for a table, staff standing there, and no one even addres you.

Yelp
A group of had reservations for a late lunch(an hour before they closed) earlier this month, after we did some wine tasting not too far away. We were seated outside and it appears they have more seating outside than inside. This is probably a good thing on most days of the year, with this being Northern California. As usual for this group , we ordered more dishes than we had people, so we could group share family style. I did enjoy my Cappuccino and the Mushroom Scramble was decent but I really didn't find the other 4 dishes anything special and quite average. I understand Sonoma County is going through some tough times(as many cities are) but we were shocked at a 15% Health and Happiness Charge before the tip was added. I have seen it range from 3% to 10% around San Francisco for Health charges but never this high. Frankly, given the quality of food and this Health and Happiness charge, I don't think I will ever be back.

Yelp
What a great place. Mimosa's are so good. Try the Guava Mimosa. Food is really delicious . The Chicken Avocado Grilled Cheese (see the pic) was amazing. Service outstanding. Our waiter made really great recommendations. A cute place to sit and eat. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I lived in Sonoma for 15 years and recently moved. I understand Sunflower Cafe is a Sonoma staple and have been several times in the past. I was pretty disappointed with my experience yesterday. The girl who took our Order looked like she had woken up 5 minutes ago and rolled out of bed to stumble to work. She had no enthusiasms whatsoever. Our food was ok, my brioche was dry and my friends toast was hardly toasted. The vibe outside is beautiful but I will think twice about going back there

Yelp
If you are in Sonoma, there are a lot of restaurants to choose from on their little downtown square but I highly recommend here for brunch/lunch. I had probably the best avocado toast I've ever had. The side of breakfast potatoes were also a favorite. I don't know what they did, but they were so flavorful and cooked perfectly! I had a mocha that was ready to drink (perfect temp) and not too sweet. Marvin was my waiter and he was attentive and helpful. Don't be afraid to sit on the patio because they have the best heaters. They are personalized to each to table and they also have blankets for your legs, if you need them.
