Sunflower Kitchen

Door dashed some food from here and it was great until I pulled out a staple out of my mouth that was in the pancake batter that my 18 month old and I were sharing. I am greatful that I got it in my mouth and not in his or that I swallowed it. They were closed by the time we started eating so I will up date this after I discuss with them tomorrow on how its handle.

First visit today was a good one. Let me start by saying the ONLY reason I didn't give service a 5 was the long wait. The rest of this os positive. 🙂 It's not often a breakfast place gets "over medium" eggs right but they nailed it. Senior menu for 55+ is appreciated!! The staff was professional. We were told at the door the wait for food would be about 45 minutes. It was closer to an hour. The food was really good and prices were right. Our coffee was topped off frequently while we waited, and during that time at least 3 employees checked on us. I love it when I see employees cleaning rather than standing around! They are doing things right! Give them a chance but bring your patience with you. 🙂

When they first opened, this place was amazing, everything home made, high quality, and fresh. Unfortunately the quality of the food has has gone steadily downhill since then, not all at once, but little obvious cuts here and there. Until the last couple times, now everything tastes like warmed up Sisco Food, like you can find anywhere else. Not bad, but certainly not very good. Very disappointed. I don't think we will be back.

Food was AMAZING, and Terra provided excellent service. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because they were closing at 2- we got our food probably around 1:20/1:30 and not too long after we got our meal another staff member came over and asked if we had plates to give her.. as we all have food on our plates eating. She then proceeded to tell us that they are closing early and are trying to hurry as they want to go home. That to me was very unprofessional, and did not totally ruin our experience, but did alter it significantly. Other than that, the food, environment, and experience with Terra was phenomenal!

Our food was cold after 25 minute wait for the food. Also the hashbrowns were not cooked. The pancake was hard as a rock and the server never checked on us. We had to constantly ask for things they discounted our bill by nine dollars for a horrible service and horrible food would not recommend ever coming back here.

Directly across the street from the airport FBO is a restaurant connected to a bar--District 14 and Sunflower Kitchen. They share the same kitchen and offer great breakfasts starting at 6 AM in the morning. Lunches and dinners are available on both sides. Lindsay is the owner and is there all the time to make sure everything is perfect. I highly recommend giving these places a try!

It was great food. The waitress was great & hussled. However, the kitchen was slow it took 30 minutes to get our food.

This is the quintessential "old folks diner" nothing fancy here just a good spot for some quiet lunch and hot food. You don't go here for the food or service you go here when you want the world to stop spinning for a damn minute.

We stopped to grab a bite to eat on Sunday around 12:30 and the place was packed! There were a few tables left and I figured it must be a great place! The service was quick and our party of 6 ordered breakfast and lunch. Though the kitchen staff was pushing the food out as quickly as possible, I thought the service was great. The entire staff was courteous and friendly. The food was spectacular and everyone walked out completely full and satisfied. You won't be disappointed!

The Sunflower Kitchen is a great place to enjoy a made from scratch comfort food meal. We have eaten there three times when in Hastings and have been impressed with the great service, friendly atmosphere and most of all the fresh, made to order menu choices. Daily specials rotate. We have had several of the burgers ( Patty Melt) and my favorite the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs. Definetly homemade and cooked to order. A plus for Hastings to have such a great dining spot. The food is not fast food but worth the little extra
