I want to start by saying that Thai food is my favorite type of food and I eat it very frequently. I have also eaten Thai food in Thailand so I have a pretty good grasp on what great Thai food tastes like.
We ordered through the restaurant's app (Beyond Menu) and didn't know until we got to the location to pick up our food that the restaurant had been renamed from Tasty Thai, although the sign on the restaurant still says Tasty Thai. The flavor of one of my dishes was great, although the beef was extremely dry. I ended up feeding it to my dog, which was a shame because I was very excited for this meal. The noodles were dry too, but I ate them because they were better than the beef and I was hungry. The broccoli and fried egg were cooked to perfection, but that hardly makes up for the +$2 beef up charge tasting like an arid desert.
I just spent $27 on two very basic entrees, and neither of them were good enough for me to enjoy eating. I am sorely disappointed. I was hoping I could have 2-3 meals out of this and I dislike it so much that I will have to buy other food instead. I feel like it was a waste of my money.
I also ordered yellow curry chicken. Although I specified "medium", my curry was so spicy I couldn't eat it, although ordering medium all other Thai places has always treated me well. The white rice wasn't even good-- how does one muck up rice?!? It was long-grain and tasted re-heated versus fresh. The texture reminded me more of Indian rice than good Thai rice.
My boyfriend ordered Pad Thai, which he said was 3.5 stars, but said his beef was also dry and that the noodles could have been better. He was disheartened that there were no additives like chili peppers, and that it only had lime and peanuts.
This was wholly a very sad experience, especially since we drove thirty minutes to try this place that had largely solid reviews.
