Sunny Grill

Ordered a steak sandwich, Fries and a coke float from sunny grill and was pleased! They took a little while to cook the food but it's not a traditional "fast food" spot so that should be understood before coming here. The food is worth the wait! I can't wait to come back and try more items from their menu. I love that they have a drive thru too

Local eatery with a drive thru! Plenty of indoor seating, some patio seating, and ample parking in the back. Always decorated with fresh flowers! Service has always been friendly. Was recommended by a friend for their great burger combos. Glad we came!

This review is due to the owner’s attitude (older lady with long white hair). Doesn’t greet you and just stands there rudely just begrudgingly waiting for you to order. Also forgot to order coffee with my order and she didn’t let me order because there is a “$5 credit card minimum” that’s not noted anywhere that I saw. She just smirks and raises her eyebrow at me. People say the prices are reasonable.. and they are but the portions are small. I can’t support a business with a horrible owner and they have only like two to three actually “Greek” options. Byeeeee forever.

I’ve been to Sunny Grill in Mar Vista twice now—once almost a year ago and again today. The first time, the older lady working there was extremely rude, but I let it go, thinking maybe she was having a bad day. Everyone goes through things. But after going back today, it’s clear this is just how she treats people. She was just as nasty—cold, dismissive, and clearly unhappy to be there. It honestly feels like she hates working there, and it shows in how she talks to customers. If you can’t treat paying customers with even basic respect, maybe it’s time to bring someone else in who actually wants to be there. And let’s be real—the food isn’t even that good for her to be acting the way she does.

Skip this spot unless you enjoy bland food and bad service. Have eaten here a few times over the years. Food has been consistently bland but has gotten a little worse recently. The service has been consistently bad - staff doesn't make an effort to sound, look or act friendly. Today was disappointed when I ordered onion rings and they burned them and still served them to me, see photo - those are straight from the bag they gave me. This place wasn't great to begin with and has seemingly gotten worse. Plenty of better spots with better service in the area.

Back patio is the chillest spot. If you dont speak the owners language the service ia not as friendly. The young woman that works there is very friendly and makes up for the off-putting rudeness. The food is fantastic. The chicken gyro and their chili dogs are always 👌 🔥. There are chicken tenders and fries for little picky eaters.

The grilled chicken sandwich is decent that's why I gave 2 stars, instead of one. The fries are horrible, unsalted and cold. A side of ranch cost an extra $1.25 and it's TERRIBLE!!! RANCID really! I have been eating here since I was a kid, since it was Demi's grill and it's just gotten worse and worse over the years. I'm so disappointed because it's a family run business and I would love to support them. It's time to rethink the menu options and some of there recipes.

I’ve lived in Mar Vista and Venice (Westiiiiiiiiiiiide!) for half of my life and Sunny Grill has been my go-to spot for 20 years. Great food and service. They literally never get my order wrong! The chicken gyro, quesadilla and grilled chicken sandwich are my favorites. Yes, the drive-thru can take awhile when there’s a line, but it’s fresh food and well worth it.

After walking away from the Mar Vista Farmer's Market shell-shocked by the prices, we passed this place on the way to the car. It looked cute so we popped in. Holy mackerel. $5.44 for a burger so I tried that. Big, juicy, lots of lettuce and a nice slice of tomato. An amazing burger at a VERY reasonable price in a great atmosphere. A great patio, too. Service was great, to boot.

Sunnygrill so convenient the drive thru when I am in a rush. I like the grilled chicken salad with balsamic dressing. Everybody works hard there. Thanku Sunnygrill.

I walked into this place yesterday. I attended the Venice market event. I bought a bottle of water. I then asked to use the restroom and I was informed by a very rude manager that the restroom is for dining in customers only. Usually when you walk into establishments and you spend money, you can usually use the bathroom. I think the woman who owns this restaurant was extremely unprofessional and extremely rude. I will never come back here again.

A drive-thru with healthy made to order options?! Yes! I love the convenience of drive-thrus, yet don't like that usually the only options for that are fast food chains. Fortunately, this place came up on a search of drive-thrus near me while I was running errands. The service was really friendly. I got the Steak Salad and it was good and a good portion size too. This isn't a fancy place, yet it has healthy options and reasonable prices. The wait at the drive thru was a few minutes longer than a fast food chain, but that's okay because I know they're making the food fresh and made to order.

Best pineapple milkshake you will find , the staff is great down to earth and this place has that feeling the owner is probly around helping .or telling stories about the pictures on the wall. Also this place has the "good ranch"

The blt is a classic and always hits but the last time I went I decided to try something new. I got the carne asada quesadilla and onion rings. The onion rings were soaked in oil and didn't quite hold their form as if the oil wasn't hot enough. For the quesadilla, I wouldn't get it if you like more than just a sprinkle of cheese. Although the outside was crispy they put guacamole and pico de gallo on inside making it oddly wet.

I was a little nervous going here since some of the reviews said the lady working there was rude. I had no problems, and indeed the Latina women who served me was quite pleasant. I ordered the Salmon Salad and bowl of the Lentil Soup. The salad came with a good size piece of salmon, lettuce and a few small tomatoes. It was good. The lentil soup was okay, but I needed to add a little hot sauce to spice it up. While waiting for my food, I used the restroom, which was pleasantly clean and nice looking. The decor in the restaurant looks a bit dated, but they deserve credit for the plants and flowers they have scattered about. I'm willing to give them another try.

Craving some fried zucchini, I searched for a place close to me and Yelp! directed me to Sunny Grill, and I'm so glad it did! This mom & pop restaurant has a drive thru which is awesome, just be careful not to miss the drive thru entrance just before the building and through the City's bus lane you might miss it. As I pulled up to the drive thru a very pleasant sounding female took my order. By her tone of voice she seemed happy and this gave me a great feeling that the Sunny Grill would be a great choice to have lunch! (Note my receipt states order taken by SunnyGrill Inc Manager). I ordered my zucchini and a cheeseburger to give it a try and I was pleasantly by the tasty burger which was great size (definitely your moneys worth, it was no whimpy burger). It was filled with fresh crisp lettuce, a fresh tomato, onion on a toasted sesame seed bun. The burger was chargrilled and very good! The zucchini was served with a house made ranch dressing that is so good I'll be back for a salad soon! I'll definitely be back!

This is my first time here and this is after hearing about this place for years as I live in the neighborhood. The decor is very simple and sweet. It's in a comfy little area that feels very quiet. The prices are fair but I can tell the place has seen better days. I have been to diners that are similar and usually the decor and interior should not be all that which you judge your experience on. The woman at the counter who I know is the manager because of all the reviews I read about her while I ate my food. Her customer service is extremely poor and could use some updating. She has that in common with the building. I ordered a side salad with a chicken sandwich. The food was good and it's not anything to ride home about but it satisfied me perfectly. As someone who works in customer service I usually will give someone a pass but not responding after something asks "Hi, how are you doing today?" And then giving them a blank look like you're judging them which seems to be a theme in this reviews, is not how you make people want to come back. The place was empty which was lovely as I needed some peace and quiet. Would I come back again? Maybe if I wanted another chicken sandwich and didn't want to pay an arm and a leg. Would I ever recommended it to someone passing by LA or who I was close with? Heck no! Hopefully when the Manager retires she passes it off to someone who is better suited to run an establishment that needs good customer service to survive.

Used to be great, as I've been coming here since they opened, but I was very disappointed by my last visit. First, the good. Their milkshakes are still the best I've ever had, anywhere. The menu is also the same as it's always been which is nice. That said, prices are absolutely ridiculous now. Worse than that, the quality of our meal was nowhere near as good as it used to be. Our Turkey burger was dry, my chili cheese fries were dry, and the onion rings were small and falling apart. The latter is especially sad as they used to have well breaded large ones here. These just seemed old and slopped together. Also, I know it's been said by others but what I assume are the owners don't have a ton of hospitality, which is ironic as they are in the hospitality industry. They barely want to talk to you. I used to look past that when the food was exceptional and laugh off every single time I'd order a tuna sandwich and be given a turkey one by mistake, then to be made to feel like I was the one who was wrong somehow. Now, they don't get that pass. I feel like the stupid road diet really hurt this place and the ridiculous pandemic restrictions and cost increases dimmed the sun in Sunny Grill even further. I don't see ordering anything but a shake here anymore, just not worth it.

Food is amazing a must try! Breakfast burrito is so good. Service is great! Drive thru greasy to order ! Not fast food! Go by and give it a try!

I stumbled upon sunny grill sometime in 2017 and have been going back exclusively for their breakfast club I opt to get it protein style/lettuce wrapped and it's still as good as it is with their whole heat bun If youre looking for a fast, easy and delicious bfast stop by sunny grill! Definitely a hidden gem on the west side. They even have a drive through, and dog treats for your furry companion. (The window gal have my dog a treat the last time he accompanied me in the drive through) Only downside are their hours. I wish they opened at 8:30 on weekdays instead of 10 - id be driving through near daily if they did to get my breaky sando fix

I love the breakfast burrito and the club sandwich. The service is excellent and the prices are reasonable.

Great local spot for fairly quick eats and yummy choices. We especially love the Gyros. The Fried Zucchini sticks are awesome too. Cozy little patio on the side if you want to eat in. We often order ahead and use the drive thru for pick up.

Dropped off a car full of stuff at a nearby thrift shop and the very helpful young woman recommended this place for a well-earned lunch. Great recommendation! Lots of good menu choices, but it was a cheeseburger kind of day. Perfectly cooked, with a good sauce and tasty fries. Cute little patio, nice staff, and very reasonable prices. If I find myself in the area again, I will definitely go back.

Ughh. Not a good place to eat at all. Boyfriend and I only went here because our dog was being treated at the VCA hospital across the street and we were starving for lunch. So we crossed the street and placed our orders. My fish sandwich was a bad bad bad bad choice. I could have frankly gotten a better fish sandwich at McDonald's. This fried fish patty was horribly overdone and tasted like something they pulled out of the freezer. It also caused me to have nasty "fish burps" afterwards. Boyfriend's burrito wasn't any better and he was left hungry and dissatisfied because the burrito was so much tortilla and not much filling. Their little patio is cute, I'll give it that. But we won't be returning.

Best BLT in L.A!!!! Customer service is always great and you can call ahead if you don't want to wait. They also take Apple Pay!!! It's a nice chill spot if you want to eat there it's very clean and they have indoor and outdoor seating. The only thing that hurts my feelings is they don't open until 10am so I can't get them on my way to work but I can get on my lunch break

I love the chicken sandwich combo. Salt for fries. Very great lunch. The breakfast sandwich is also amazing. I've only ordered those 3 items because they are so good I can't go there and order anything else. I've been eating here for 12 years at least.

The food is ok it's not too greasy and the turkey burger is good. Low fat and can get it on Sour Dough bread instead of a white bun which I like. They also have a side salad which is a good choice other than French fries. So, good for those of us who don't like high fat. My husband always get the regular burger he likes it a lot and he likes the French fries with it.

I've been frequenting Sunny Grill for years and I have to admit the quality is still very high after many years. Mia the owner is amazing! She truly cares about her customers. Definitely my go to for Breakfast Burritos, Burgers and Greek food. I highly recommend them.

Sunny grill is an excellent Fast Casual restaurant that won't disappoint. The food is excellent, High quality, and there are many Vegetarian options. Not to mention the low prices. They also have an awesome back patio with a fountain that is very peaceful. Mia and her staff are extremely friendly and provide a great experience. Highly recommend!

Great neighborhood food and service. Very diverse menu, and I recommend the gyrosv and Greek salad. The marinated grill chicken is also yummy.

Ohh the cheeseburgers! They are what In and Our wishes and dream to grow up to be!! The BLT is just what you want it to be. I've ordered it numerous times MINUS mayo and not ONCE have they put mayo on it. They have parking-an LA dream.

Wow! This place is very affordable! I have passed by this place several times as it is next to the pottery studio I attend, and haven't given it a second thought. However, I was starving one day and decided to stop in. They have a decent amount of menu options -- burgers, quesadillas, etc. I ordered the Mediterranean quesadilla. The older lady at the register was a bit curt and cold with me, as others have mentioned. She told me that she would not help suggest anything and it took her a while to get to my order even thought there was only one other person ahead of me because she was busy showing him pictures of her family and walking very slowly. When I opted for the Mediterranean quesadilla, she told me "very healthy"... well I did ask her for info about the different quesadillas and whether she had any recommendations... but she said she wouldn't provide recommendations, yet her response to my order does NOT sound like a ringing endorsement of what I ordered. The Mediterranean quesadilla consisted of feta cheese (no other cheese), tomatoes, and spinach, sandwiched between a flour tortilla and grilled until crispy. I'm not sure if it's that healthy, but it did taste good. For less than $10, it's a decent amount of food. Come here for a quick meal, but don't expect good service. Maybe best to use the drive through if you know what you want, so you don't really need to interact with the older lady...

I really go back and forth on this place. And just as a heads up, their menu pricing is not update.... so be prepared for that if you are using cash. I have had their breakfast burrito - it is extremely bland and not worth it. I did feel redeemed, however, when having their chicken gyro which is good. It had more flavor and they use a lot of tzatziki sauce which I approve of. I've tried a few things from their menu now and I would rate them average overall. There are so many eats on this block that are better. The competition in the area is rough!

Hamburgers and shakes are really good still feels like hand prepared fast food not premade or already made stuff

I love this local spot for salads. It's great quality for the price. I can get a healthy lunch for less than $12 which is rare for the Westside. The service is friendly and there is parking in the back. It also had a drive thru if you're in a rush. The restaurant has a charming 80's vintage feel, I love eating outside in their lush courtyard. This is one of my favorite restaurants in LA. I love their drive through shade and swaggle decor. I also really love their gyro and cheeseburger. They are always soooooo nice to me. I smile.

Sunny Grill a great place for breakfast, causal lunch and dinner. Wide menu to choice from including American and Greek dishes. Great hamburgers, my favorite the Pastrami- Cheeseburger. I am also a fan of their salads, NY Steak Salad and the Salmon Salad delicious. All food is prepared to order so it comes to you hot and tasty, so allow Sunny Grill time to Prepare you order. Drive-Thru, Take Away and Dine are available,. Credit Cards are accepted.

The fish burger and zucchini fries. You must try. The menu is incredibly variegated. But please try to fish burger and zucchini fries.

Ordered a gyro and came with a really long dark hair almost the whole length of the gyro , when I called to complain about it lady (manager) said it's impossible and that we trying to get a free meal out of it ‍.. Then she said bring it to me and I will verify it's one out hairs and if so she will replace it at this point I'm frustrated at her and said if I'm going to waste my time going back because I asked to get a new delivered .. I want a a refund and new gyro or give me two gyros and she said I was crazy so I just hanged up

I've had a cheeseburger and the gyro. Both were delicious. I would recommend Sunny Grill over ANY other fast food restaurant. The fits definitely fresh

The food is amazing, especially the turkey burger. I love Samantha. She is super sweet and knows my order because of the number of times I've gone there. I literally order the same thing every time. However, the owner is exceptionally rude. She is bitter and never smiles. In fact, I have never seen her smile once. She knows who I am yet she never greets me and she gives me a hard time when I ask for something. God forbid you ask her for something, she will give you the annoyed look. To be honest, I would go there a lot more if it weren't for the rude owner. She makes the experience extremely unpleasant. I am giving three stars because the owner's attitude sucks. It's a shame because the food is actually really good.

If I could give 0 stars I would. There was a young girl working the window and she was very rude. I greeted her at the window and she didn't respond. She then asked me how I was paying and I said Apple Pay. She snatched my phone from my hand and took it to the back. She was gone with my phone for a good 8 mins. No thank you for the wait and no smile. After she handed me my food I still thanked her wished her a good day as I have manners. She did not respond. Just a blank stare. Whoever the owner of this establishment needs to re-train their employees. Fries were bland. Burger was soggy. I'm not concerned about the food as it wasn't my cup of tea but maybe it would be someone else's. However, I am concerned about the rude staff they have serving customers. To the owner or manger please remind your employees that customers are what keep the establishment open and being kind is to be a decent human. Won't be returning. I truly hope the staff works on being friendly to their guest. It'll go a long way for their business.

This place brings back so many childhood memories. My mom has always been somewhat health conscious and doesn't particularly love meat, so I had a lot of chicken growing up lol. I remember her picking me up from school and bringing me here as a treat and we would always order the same thing, a chicken burger (or I guess the proper name is "chicken sandwich"). It's served on a wheat bun and it is absolutely delicious. I've recently learned that they also have amazing onion rings here. Great spot that gives nostalgia through it delicious grilled chicken sandwich. Glad to see they're still up and running, check em out!

solid cheap mom and pop with a drive thru...great gyros...decent burgers and fries...good asada quesadilla...definitely a good option for fast food on the west side

Sunny Grill, what happen to your portion size ? Went in last week and I couldn't believe how much the turkey burger shrunk. And to the owner , your attitude sucks ! With that being said , you lost not just a customer but a family !

I can't believe it took me this long to finally walk into Sunny Grill! Very reasonable prices for delicious and fresh food. I've tried the breakfast burger and breakfast burrito. I highly recommend the breakfast burrito because it's a steal for the price! I can't wait to go back and try some lunch and dinner items! If you in Mar Vista, Sunny Grill is definitely a must! We ordered and sat outside. The young gal who took our order and brought out our food was very nice and attentive.

This place is great!!! I've been making my way through the menu and there isn't a dud on it! Some of my favorite sandwiches are (in no particular order) the pastrami, cold tuna (I ask for it on rye bread), breakfast club, lamb giro, cheese burger with pastrami, and the Santa Fe garden burger. Also, the vegetarian burrito, carne asada burrito, Greek salad (I order it with a side of tzatziki sauce to dip the pita bread in), sole filet salad, chili bowl and the Mediterranean quesadilla. Friendly staff, great prices, nice relaxed ambiance, parking in back.

Worst burrito I have had at any restaurant no seasoning plain. Taste like all the ingredients came from a can.

I don't know how long they have been around but I feel like I've been coming here forever. Of all the places to eat when I return to the westside, I always try to fit in a trip to Sunny Grill. It feels like I'm visiting someone's home and they built a drive thru to accommodate the neighbors. I love the patio area and the cozy tables out front. I can only speak for the turkey burgers. I ordered it my first time and I have never been able to order anything else because I love them. The shoestring fries are seasoned and cooked well. They always have my yellow peppers to accompany my turkey burger. I don't know what they put in the patty but it's juicy and flavorful. The light mayo on the toasted wheat bun compliments it perfectly. It's not fancy, it's not huge, if I was Goldilocks, it's just right for me.
