If you're in the Phoenix area looking for a chill spot with amazing craft cocktails and do not require reservations or have limitations on your seating time, look no further. The exterior of the location looks like an abandoned building and very nondescript, which I think is awesome! The interior of the location is small, which makes it personal and very welcoming and has the feel of an old-school prohibition style louge. It's simplistic but awesome! A true approach to mixology is taken when preparing cocktails, as fresh syrups and juices are prepared daily. The bartenders here are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the art of cocktail making, as the drinks are well balanced. There is a drink menu offered, which changes periodically, so there will always be something new to try. However, cocktails can be prepared to your liking. This location is affiliated with Barter and Shake (look it up), and it's one of my favorite spots! You will not be disappointed! Definitely experience the science of cocktail making! This location is amazing during the various holidays of the year, and the decor is usually pretty cool. Of course, there are cocktails created specifically for these events. Hotdogs served in sourdough have been added, and they are delicious! Definitely stop by, grab a seat, relax, and taste amazing! Cheers, and I'll see you there!

This place is such a vibe and the bartenders are amazing. Tried the guac & roll, which was phenomenal, then tried the daammmmnnnn. Ended up not liking the second drink and they made me another guac & roll without me even asking. Truly an awesome place to come check out. Came on a whim and totally worth it. Jordan was the coolest bartender.

Great bar with awesome drinks and awesome staff. We have been here a few times and have always had a great experience. They have a small patio and many tables inside. It’s not super big but feels like a good size. Tons of drink options. They also have a pool table inside. Our friends have been here more often and they always speak fondly of it. They have some great stories about the “haunted” part of the bar so ask! Will definitely continue coming back. Parking is small but if drinking you should be using ride share anyway!

This place was a surprise! looks like nothing from the outside a little shack, but their craft cocktail menu could rival the trendiest place in town! This place is gem of a hide away. The staff was outstanding. The pool table is just a small bar box, the parking lot is cramped, but the atmosphere and the menu of exotic well crafted cocktails are what is worth the visit.

Decent chill spot. A cleaner feeling shadys with a darker lighting bar. The bartenders were great with service. The cocktails were so so. They each sound and look great on the menu but don’t fully deliver. This would be a good spot for an after dinner drink. It would’ve been great If they kept the jukebox or upgraded it instead of a large speaker

Oh boy. I love this place. Hidden little cocktail lounge just outside of Arcadia. It's tiny, it used to be a house. The drinks are so damn good. Very creative. From the same folks that brought you platform 18 and undertow. I didn't want to write this review because I don't want everyone to find out about this place and fill it up. Because it's not very big. But this place deserves a great review.

The service was wonderful & bartenders and servers were both very pleasant and helpful. The drinks though were fantastic! We didn’t know what to expect as this place just opened but were very pleasantly surprised. I got the Writers block first which was very refreshing and slightly sweet but didn’t overdo it. My second drink was the Thai me down and was so delicious as well- with citrus vibes but a hint of spice at the end. My husband got the Island cowboy which was fruity with a slight spice & the vintage sass which was much more spirit forward (you could definitely taste the whiskey) but still delicious. The overall vibe gave an upscale polished dive bar feel with a twist of fantastic drinks!

This place was fun! I came here for the Halloween pop-up experience by Black Lagoon. I arrived around 730p on a Thursday and it was very packed, no where to sit. But the staff working were all very friendly and still came around to take our order. There was a podcast group there that night recording a podcast (which may explain why it was so busy). My friend and I each ordered a drink. I don't remember what they were, but we liked them. Some of the glasses were for sale and I purchase one that looked like a dragon. The Halloween decor was great and it was a very dark and intimate setting that evening.

Sunny's has successfully revamped an old neighborhood favorite into something with a clear vision: Good cocktails for eclectic tastes. What I loved: You might just want to skip straight to their selection of infused fernet. I've had some twists on the herbal spirit before, but Sunny's does it best. I tried a couple cocktails, and what I can't forget is the ArcadiaLite: a suped-up vodka soda boasting a blast of citrus oil, for a mellow flavor that really lingers. What I liked: They freshened up the interior a bit since the Shady's days. You couldn't tell this used to be a dingy old dive bar. If you want good cocktails in a lowkey environment, Sunny's is the place to be!

A friend took me to this place on a weekday and LOVED the place. It was on my mind often because the cocktails were delicious so I couldn't wait to come back. I decided to take a date here and drinks were great, service started great... until it wasn't. First thing I noticed they took the menu after the third drink they served us. Thought that was interesting. 'My date and I joked, "oh they must think we are over served." Mind you, no one had fallen, nothing was spilled. 2nd thing I noticed. Soon after, they ring us out and just say, "so how are we getting home guys?" No, "how is your night going?" "Is everything okay?" No eye contact at all and we told her Lyft. I'm thinking wow, are we doing something? We were in a good mood and vibing and it can come off more than it is. Regardless, the approach was not appreciated and I believe another direction was more appropriate. We finish our drinks and are just vibing. It was fun to let loose after a long week. We danced because they had good music and having an overall good time together not bothering anyone to my knowledge. We were the only ones dancing and there is an open area that looks like it's made to be danced in. If we were doing this at a sit down restaurant or even a speak easy, I can see that being weird. But this is a bar with a pool table and loud music. Then the server comes up to us again, and tells us "I think you should call that Lyft now." After an expensive bill, I still tipped 20% and my bill was $108 for 6 drinks and was polite to the staff. I am trans. I am a person of color. And I'm there with a white woman. So when you get treated with disrespect without any knowledge of what they are doing, it can unfortunately feel targeted even if it's not the intention. It's happened before and sadly, it will happen again. I'm very disappointed because I was having a good night and I was so excited to come back. I had told so many people about this place. As much as I love the drinks, I cannot say I will come back because I need a place I can feel comfortable to be myself without judgement or at least the respect to tell me what's wrong.

This place is awesome! The outside is unassuming, but the inside is super cute and cozy. I live down the street from this place and I can't believe it's taken me so long to discover it. I ordered the magazine cover and the thai me down. Both drinks were really good and service was friendly. I'll be back for sure!

Came here for their holiday decor is the spooky vibes were spooktastic. The black lagoon team set up the decorations as far as I'm aware but the staff was super friendly, gave great advice, and offered to take photos of us since we all came in costume. Surpassed our expectations for sure since on the outside it does look like a more low key bar. Guess now I have to try them out for a non-Halloween outing

Oh how I wish there was a bar like this in my neighborhood! Friendly staff, welcoming come-as-you-are vibe, fabulous drinks. The place looks like a dive from outside, but the cocktails are classy. "Come, Mr. Tally Man" was perfect. And I have to admit, I got emotional when I saw they brought back my Counter Intuitive fave- "Soldier Boy" (thank you!!). Recommend!

Stopped in for drinks with my friends and had the best lemon drop ever. They had it decorated for Halloween and it looked really cute inside. Definitely recommend

Sunny's Lounge is so underrated! My family was looking for a fun bar to add to our Christmas bar crawl and Sunny's was at the top of our list. This is a small, intimate dive bar located in between Camelback East Village and the Biltmore Area. Since it's around the holidays, they have decked out the entire inside of the bar with festive decor and fun photo ops. I personally loved the line up of Christmas cocktails- we tried the following cocktails during our visit: "Let It Snow", "Twig and Berries", and the "Cold Apple Pie". All were solid 10/10s-seriously they were incredible. What I was pleasantly surprised by was that Sunny's didn't overcharge for drinks simply because it was on the holiday menu, we never paid more than $15 and the quality was absolutely worth the price. The staff were so kind and friendly and quick to offer up a recommendation and their speed of service was quick. I can't wait to come back for our next holiday bar crawl!

This was the last stop on my Birthday outing and I am so glad we made it here before we went home. Sunny's had decorated wall to wall for Christmas and it gave me all the Holiday Feels. I loved it so so so much. We had a great server who kept the amazing Espresso Martini's coming! I will absolutely be back to show this cute spot to some of my friends and we will no doubt have a great time I am sure.

Amazing small little cozy bar! Great service and tasty drinks! They've got a nice pool table inside as well! Definitely a hidden gem! Went here during the holidays and meant to review it then, but they are still just as amazing if not better!

Great spot with delicious cocktails. Doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is recently remodeled and so nice. Service is super friendly. They are happy to explain their drinks and give options. The TV isn't normally on. We requested to watch the game and they had no problem putting it on for us.

This place is amazing! I just had a summer carajillo, was wonderful, also had a drink called Arizona sunset was really good, everything the bartender does is great! She is really nice and creative, this bar could be your go to go every day!

Went for the Black Lagoon pop-up, place is smaller than expected, with less immersive decorations than I was expecting. However, there was some nice little touches considering the small space, such as movie on vintage TV, skeletons here and there. We did enjoy the playlist and have played it on Spotify during Halloween time. The service was also good, enjoyed our waiter. The themed drinks were ok, not as good as other places. The non-drinkers had fun playing billiards (50c) We did take a coaster and menu for souvenir of an enjoyable couple hours.

Great hidden gem!! Do not let the outside fool you... inside is perfect and if Anna is there as a server you will be in for treat! Great interaction with the clients and down to earth. Great spot to unwind and have a drink.

This spot made me right at home as soon as I walked the door. There was so much going on. Loud crowds, loud music, but in a small intimate space. The music was on point as if taken straight out of my to 5 iTunes playlist. Grade A spot. A plus for the 30+ age group A hugely recommend One of Those Cilantro Mezcal Things....

Amazing ambience. Affordable drinks. Great service. Outstanding cocktails! I wasn't even drinking that night and had a non-alcoholic bees knees which our server was quick to suggest for me and was perfect. They have a non-alcoholic gin! This is such a pleasant surprise since most bars do not offer NA cocktails. Each drink had such balanced flavor profiles and everyone enjoyed their drinks! The no frills ambience with a pool table, chill laid back bar vibe with plenty of seats, booths for larger groups to hangout and chat and good music that isn't too loud make Sunny's Lounge a great place to stop by in the neighborhood for a drink. It's not too crowded which is a huge plus. This place is a hidden gem! Will be back.

While I will admit that I do miss when this place was Shady's, this is a nice spot to grab a drink with a bit of an elevated speakeasy atmosphere. Things are pretty decently priced, there is adequate seating and the staff is always nice and friendly. The only caveat is parking - it's mostly on the street, but nothing Rideshare can't prevent/fix!

This is my new favourite bar. I want to be a regular here, which is not something I often say. There are so many places to try in Phoenix that it's hard for me to sit down and say "this is the One." But I'm committing. Drinks: I've tried 99% of the cocktails and I haven't gone broke. I think that basically sums up why I love this bar. The cocktails are unique, tasty, and inexpensive. The frozen strawberry chili margarita is on point. Ambiance: this used to be (still is?) one of the divier establishments, but from what I can tell, it's gotten a nice update, but kept the cozy laidback feel. I never know what time it is because it's so dark. Service: superb! The bartenders are the bomb. They're all super friendly and helpful. They want you to enjoy what you're drinking.

Drinks made well quality ingredients, knowledgeable cocktail mixologists, loved this bar when Shandy's but now cleaner and staff very friendly glad environment changed

This is a classy dive bar. Century Grand-level cocktails in a dive bar setting. Prices are really good for the quality: $12-$14. Would be a perfect bar to meet a date.

This is the kind of review I'm torn on leaving. On the one hand, I love this place and want them to do well. On the other, I love that it's one of those hidden gems in Phoenix that you just have to know someone to know about, and leaving a positive review makes that harder. Talented staff, great drinks, phenomenal service. The drawback is the giant dancing crocodile sign in the corner. I think the person who picked it should have to do a shot of malört with no chaser.

The bartender's bar! A great spot to kick back, relax, and enjoy great drinks. Come shoot pool, watch TV, enjoy conversation with friends, all while enjoying the high quality cocktails you expect from Barter & Shake.

What a cool neighborhood hangout. A great vibe great drinks great bartenders. Always have a great time when stopping by. We live in the far north west valley and love coming here to have a great cocktail. The drive is well worth it to get there. Enjoy the fun times.

This used to be a fun neighborhood bar... now it reminds me of that house in Beetlejuice after the soulless woman remodeled it. I really don't get what aesthetic they are going for. I know they said they wanted to make an industry bar, but this place is the absolute furthest thing from it I can imagine.

Strong drinks, friendly bar tenders and every time I've been here it's always the perfect amount of people not packed and stupid loud.

This is a great little bar that I could totally imagine becoming my favorite neighborhood bar. It's much different than I imagined inside from such an unassuming outside. The bartender was great and it was quiet inside, so it was the perfect place to sit down with friends and catch up.

Felt very comfortable. Great customer service and really cool drinks. I remember going here when it was more of a dive bar. I loved it then too.

Great new cocktail lounge! Just the right combination of upscale (drinks, service) and neighborhood bar (music, seating, decor). No reservations required like other B&S places, and because it's tiny, that means lots of people will be standing. But if you can grab a seat you'll be glad to sit and stay a while and enjoy the awesome drinks. I enjoyed the Vintage Sass (had to order a second!) and the husband ordered something off-menu that was superb. Will be back often. No food but I heard they're trying to get some food trucks etc. Parking sucks but that was true for Shady's too. Welcome to the neighborhood!

I love this place! I've been here 3 times already and the bartenders are the sweetest and remembered me. They are super friendly and attentive. I have had many of the drinks and they are all outstanding. I also love the vibe inside. It's dark but in a cozy way, not pretentious at all. I also love that there's parking on site. My favorite drink is the Magazine Cover!

Great local spot with character and drinks...and bonus Matthew Thornton from Vinyl Station was playing when we stopped in. Staff attentive and super friendly...will be going back soon!

Awesome neighborhood bar with upscale cocktails without the upscale prices. There is a pool table but no tv's. The drinks alone are worth the visit!

So happy to have another bar nearby with great cocktails and ambiance low key vibe with a pool table, specialty drinks and stuff on tap. Something for everyone our bartender was great too!

Great drinks, service & ambiance. However the QR code opening their Instagram page instead of an actual menu is a huge negative here, another foul is that pricing is not listed anywhere on their "menu". These are 2 easy fixes and I really hope they move towards a more user friendly experience

Love Barter & Shake and what they've done for the Valley with each of their concepts. As much as I enjoy their immersive experiences, the late open, reservations, and 90 min window makes it a bit of a chore. I was very excited for this concept and was not disappointed. Laid back, unpretentious, good prices, and a friendly/knowledgeable staff. The space deftly pays homage to Shady's and the local neighborhood bar. Most important, the cocktails are superb. Focused menu, sophisticated (not gaudy) presentations, well curated backbar, and the staff is well versed in classic callouts. Great to see drinks from other concepts on the menu as well. Looking forward to frequenting in the future!
