Very first time ordering from here. My coworker recommended me to come here and the food did not dissappear! I got the chicken wings and western fries and they were delicious. The food was well seasoned and the chicken crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I'll definitely thank my coworker for the recommendation and recommend others to try as well.

I drove all the way across town from White Marsh and I was sadly disappointed. Seriously, every video I looked at for best chicken box in Baltimore had Sunny's on the list so you can say my expectations were sky high. Plus I grew up in the Baltimore suburbs (Windsor Mill) and was craving a good chicken box and I haven't lived on the East side for too long, so I am finding my way. ANYHOW, the sauce literally saved my box. The food was hot, fresh, and came out fast, hence the three stars. But after first bite I wanted to cry that I wasted all of my time to drive over there. The fries tasted like they used the same oil as the fish....so my fries tasted fishy (yuck!) and the seasoning on the chicken.... well I could see why some people say their chicken is seasoned well but this chicken tasted very well UNSEASONED to me. If you want well seasoned fried chicken, NY Fried chicken is way better than this. Even whatever lemon pepper mixture they put on Hip Hop chicken tastes better. Let's not forget Stokos or America's Best, although I can't say much about their seasoning I never get that "fresh" taste I got from Sunny's chicken where is tastes like the chicken wasn't cleaned before preparation (yes, I am West Indian). But if I am about to clog my arteries with fried chicken and french fries, PLEASE let it be worth it.

My first time trying this place. I got the whiting 2 pc with western fries. It was nasty. As a chef myself im highly upset like nothing is more upsetting than getting food that you waited and paid your hard earned money for just to be disappointed. The whiting tasted like old fish grease and had a real strong fishy flavor, they gave me the wrong fish it wasn’t whiting. Tasted like trout. The western fries lordt. I love me some western fries but these weren’t giving western. They were soggy and cold not to mention the fish was cold. I live 3 minutes from the place and didn’t eat my food until I got home so it should have still at least had some heat to it. I’m just disappointed and im real upset I wasted $30. I doctored up my sandwich but only ate one piece of fish though they were both really fishy. The other one was trout and one was whiting. I’m so mad I wanna cry. Don’t come here for the fish or the western fries unless you specifically ask for it to be fresh and fried hard.

Visited Sunny’s today and ordered 2pc whiting and crab sticks. Unfortunately, the fish did not look or taste like it usually does. It tasted old and the serving was incredibly smaller than usual. I’ve eaten here plenty of times and have ordered the whiting and lake trout and have never seen a serving like today’s. I was gaslit into believing that today’s portion was typical. I am very disappointed with my visit today and will sadly not spend another dollar here. It’s a shame when a respected community staple does things like this to their loyal customers in order to earn an extra buck.

This is a facebook favorite in East Baltimore City . I came over to try the chicken box it was good fresh chicken, the wings and fries were good and crispy. The cheeseburger was good but regular. I have to go back for the Cajun cheesesteak sandwich later , I heard it was really good 👍🏽.

I had a shrimp cheesesteak from here today for the first time. I was disappointed. The cheese was not melted. There were only like 4 pieces of extra small shrimps. The sub had no flavor. It was too much bread and very little meat. The French fries were okay. I wanted western fries but they were not making anymore, due to they were soon about to close. I doubt I will be back anytime soon.

Renowned for serving some of the best chicken box fried wings and western fries in Baltimore City. They offer a solid lineup of condiments—Old Bay, hot sauce, salt, pepper, and ketchup—to complete the experience. While there are tables and chairs available, they’re usually occupied by customers waiting for their orders, so I wouldn’t recommend dining in. Bottom line: their chicken box is tough to beat!

I finally had Lake Trout! Does that make me a true Baltimorean? So Lake Trout with the potato wedges and the lemonade iced tea mix! So so, so good. It is your rid of the military carry out. Quick and easy service. You go in you order you wait you leave. It is definitely a place that you have to go at least once a month.

Sunny's is absolutely in one of the top spots for a chicken box ova East. There are few places that have the perfect combination of size, texture, and taste in wings. It is fried to perfection, seasoned, juicy and crispy, always. I also really love their western fries. I was devastated when Sunny's had to close while the shopping center was renovated. I came weekly for my fix and I didn't want to break that tradition. Even after the move to the new space the quality of the product and the staff has not changed. Tried and true!

Sunny's Subs is one of the most consistent carryouts in Baltimore! I was heartbroken when they closed, praying that would make a comeback. So glad that they have reopened their doors and come back better than ever! It seems that the carryout is busier than it has every been, so be prepared to wait. But trust and believe, the food is well worth it. Every time I visit Sunny's, I order the exact same meal, the honey wings, light honey, western fries, with saltpepperhotsauce all over! You read that right, saltpepperhotsauce one word! the wings are huge, nice and fatty and fried to perfection. The western fries are thick and crispy, booming with flavor. I swear, I got hungry just writing this review. Let me go on ahead and drive over to the East to grab me a chicken box TONIGHT! Don't meet me there, beat me there!

This is my go to "chicken box" spot! The wings are always a good size, juicy and the flavor consistent. They chicken boxes you pick how many wings and they come with fries. You can do regular or western fries. To me western fries are the only way to go and I get an extra sunny sauce just for them. I honestly can't speak to the rest of the menu but I hear others getting subs, fish etc. and the place stays busy so I'm sure they are equally delicious. If you drop in and the line is wrapped around don't be deterred they are fast and efficient and the food is always piping hot!!

As a graduate of THEE Morgan State University, I know all too well that Sunny's chicken is Goated. It's not up for debate. It's not a nostalgic thing. Their chicken is legit, and is consistent. Hot, crispy, seasoned to the Gods. Spots like this should be protected at all costs. I haven't been since their grand reopening, and it was better than I remembered. The restaurant was clean and inviting, and I'm glad to see there's room inside to eat-in: a significant upgrade from their last storefront. Sunny sauce also doesn't disappoint. Pull up!

I'm loving that at 9:30am in the morning on a rainy Monday that I'm able to get fresh fried chicken oh and a nice sweet waffle to satisfy my southern cuisine taste buds today.

For me, the wings were too salty to eat. I ordered a 3 wing chicken box. The wedges were some of the best I've had in a long time. I gave the other two wings away. Service was quick and pleasant. Clean restaurant, parking was a nightmare. I'm heading back for more wedges and to try a cheesesteak sub.

This place is non-stop busy. I am truly impressed by the speed of the employees. The funny thing is the customers order in an organized fashion as well. People place their orders and wait patiently for the delicious food. The tables are clean and people actually pick up after themselves. The Tuna Sandwich, pineapple upside-down cake Wings and Western fries were my picks today and holy cow everything was mouthwatering. I hate pineapple but this cake - it's unlike anything I have ever tasted. The wings and the fries with the Sunny Sauce were awesome. My brother said the Tuna Sandwich tasted better than any Tuna sandwich he has order at a deli/restaurant/fast food place. He commented on how perfectly it was wrapped and ready to eat. My niece found out I was headed to Sunny's with my brother as we were in town visiting family and she asked for 3 wings and Western fries with extra sauce. A girl 's gotta eat so of course we purchased her an order. You know the chicken is good when someone from a different state asks you to pick up a "plate" for them. I will be coming here when in town for certain.

Let me start by saying Sunny's has the best chickenpox in Baltimore. Yes I said it because I believe it lol. I go. I get the same thing because they never miss. French fries are always fried to perfection and the chicken is always fresh and crispy each time. You know food is good when it tastes exactly the same or better when you heat it up the next day. Their process is quick and seamless, once you get in the door, you place the order and are given the number and you have to wait until your number is called. The only inconvenient thing is they do not do online orders or pick up orders. It's extremely inconvenient, but I can definitely understand why. Definitely try that honey chicken. It's amazing.

The place was very clean. This is a Baltimore staple . The chicken did not taste the same as it used be years ago. The service was ok. Always crowded, really love the new renovations. Check them out.

This place came highly recommended as a local chicken spot. Upon entering, the place was busy, so I knew the food was going to be great. We ordered three, 3 piece wings boxes With French fries and 2, 4 piece wing boxy with western fries. The western fries are they're Version of potato wedges. Seating is limited, so I recommend take out. The restaurant is in a plaza with plenty of parking. We requested our chicken fried hard, therefore our order took longer. However, it was worth the wait. The wings were a good size and the box was filled to capacity with fries. The mambo sauce was the perfect combination.

Sunny's Subs is Glorious!!! Wow!!! I am impressed. Fast service, great food and great flavor! My only complaint would be the price, but the food is so good and so freshly prepared I can't really complain. The fried jumbo shrimp were crispy and full of shrimp!! The fried wings are to die for!! Great flavor, nice and crispy! Pipping hot! Plus the sunny sauce (kinda like Mumbo sauce) was spot on! Sunny's need to market that sauce and put it in the store! Will I be back, ... of course!!

I wouldn't recommend the beef sausage because it's very thin and the other downside is you can't call in an order but the wait time isn't that bad but overall the food is pretty good!

New space, same great taste! I'm in town from Houston & I'm so happy Sunny's is back! Childhood nostalgia!

I have been to Sunny's 3 times since the reopening. They stay very busy and the line is always out the door. However, they move very fast. We all know that Baltimore is known for chicken boxes. I will say that their chicken is definitely in the top 3 for chicken box locations. I've had the chicken, chicken tenders, and both western fries and regular fries. All were good. No complaints for me!

MY...MY...MY. This place has the BEST CHICKEN WINGS. I have been looking for good fried chicken wings in Baltimore and haven't been able to find them until now. I haven't tried anything else on the menu b/c I can't get off these wings. Go get them but don't get too many b/c I'm circling back!

I thought the new Sunny's would not be as good as the original, but it is! I love their breakfast too.

Wherever I'm in town I always stop in for a honey wing box. New location is spotlessly clean. This time i got two and drove back to Philly. My very professional, managerial coworkers were literally in the office arguing over who was gonna get chicken. Next rime I'll get thrrrr boxes of 6 to drop the drama.

I've been eating at chicken spots for years and Sunny's subs is the best place in Baltimore. I will say their pancakes are ass, I bought some a couple minutes ago thinking they were like the hotcakes from McDonald's, nope. It's a good food spot and they have great and fast service. Just don't get any breakfast from there.

This was my first time going to Sunny's since the renovations. The place looked great and very clean. There was a line, but it moved pretty fast. I ordered the honey wings chicken box with western fries. It took about 10 minutes and my order was ready. It's been years since I had Sunny's famous honey wings, but they were as good as I remember. The western fries were delicious too! I'll definitely be back to explore some things on the menu.

The wings and onions rings were fresh and made to order. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The onion rings were perfectly fried as well. The ambiance is for carry out but also has space to sit and eat. I went around 1pm and there was a line but the service moved efficiently.

This was the best place in college and still is. Everytime I'm in the area I go here! Cheesesteaks are life!!

Food was good. I got chicken box and cheese fish on bun. They need a better system in place with the amount of customers they have. It's ALWAYS very crowded and although I appreciate they make your food fresh, it takes forever! The staff was friendly but I did overhear the guy at the cash register get smart with another customer who was questioning their price increase. I am not sure I will return anytime soon with the amount of crowd they have.

I had a craving for a Pork Chop sandwich and Sunny's delivered. The pork chop was fried to perfection and tasty. Service is what it is. The place is always packed.

I grew up in MD and moved to NC when I was 12. At some point( Sunny's closed and opened back while I was gone, and this past summer, I went back home and went to Sunny's 3 times. Same great taste, but on top of that, my last time going before I went back to NC, I made it there after closing time. The man at the front told us they were closed but after we told him I was leaving for NC the next day, he hooked us up. That's as real as someone can get !

Finally checked out the new location. Still great. There's seating to eat on sight if you care to but I always go for carry out.

I have been to Sunny's twice now. The chicken is fried well but you can only get wings. Both time they are out of everything but wings and fries. It serves a purpose but the price is right. The place has a lot of flies and lines are long. They really should remove the menu because whatever you ask for they do not have. The catsup and sauce containers are all in disarray . It is really a place for College kids because that is the food they want and it is fast . The long line goes fast. Do not know if I will return because I know they will only have wings no mixed chicken , no fried rice or fish just wings and fries

It's cool for the quick carry9out chicken box. Nothing special for ambiance but definitely cool for a quick lunch.

Sunny's is back and better. The line was super long with only one cashier. But the line moved fast like it was 5 cashiers. Service with a smile. The renovated Sunny's is really nice. It's a small area to dine in. But it seems at the time it's so crowded that you wouldn't want to eat inside. The wings taste the same as they did. Western fries were fire. They have the basic menu back now. A wonderful addition to the shopping center. MSU students have it good. Welcome back Sunny's

I'm always going to order my chicken boxes from here. 10 years strong! When they were an older location I was there in that long line. The line goes faster now and I gladly take my food home. The service is ok, they are just doing their job but I'll return each time.

Love the food and the service is great just wish that I could have called my order in.

Chicken wings are always on point. I like to get them fried extra hard. When they first opened back up I couldn't wait to get back there. The line was long but well worth the wait. I've been back several times and they never disappoint.

Wings were not good. Smells like old Sunny's but the taste & texture was not good! No call in orders & chaotic ordering procedure. I won't be returning.

Still the best chicken box in Baltimore, and run by the sweetest family. Their new spot in the redone Northwood Commons is bright and clean. Always get the box with Sunny's Sauce.

Where do I start??? A few weeks ago, I stopped by Sunny's after their long awaited opening in the new and improved Northwood shopping center. The lines were at the door, and folks were there from near and far. One customer in line came all the way from Owings Mills after hearing that they had opened back up. Although crowded, everyone was getting along and chatting with one another in line as the lines moved pretty quickly considering the amount of people in there. The food was all that and then some! 10 out of 10. We had the honey tenders and Sunny sauce, and a wing box all with Western fries. Ump ump ump! If you want some chicken that will make you wanna slap somebody, then come on over to Sunny's. You won't be disappointed!!

Doesn't live up to the hype. Wings are flavorful but to soft and undercooked. Subs are super small for the price.

thank you Sunny's for being you and never changing. Chicken boxes, fried fish and you even supply mumbo sauce even though you are definitely in the wrong city for this. I am putting Sunny's in the same vein as I did Greek Village. These establishments do what they do and they do it well with no frills. This location is run down I cant even tell you in the other businesses in that plaza are open...well the liquor store is but thats about it. Don't come here thinking you will get white glove service but what you will get is delicious ass wings and wedges with salt pepper ketchup with a short waiting time. all the regular offerings of your traditional carry out spots can be found here and everything always tasted good. so like i said before don't act brand new and start ordering things like spaghetti yea yea i know its on the menu but do you go to a french restaurant and order greek food even its its on the menu? no because thats not what that place does well. So excercise the same discernment. Order what you know they do well and go home with a half and half and be blessed baltimore style

Sunny's is a Baltimore institution, but i haven't been since chicken boxes are well chicken boxes. Decided to check them out, its located in a rundown plaza that needs some help, the place itself is equally as run down and needs a clean up or a spruce up. The parking lot itself has potholes lol. The place was busy and service was swift, and prompt. If you can overlook these things and the general uncleanliness of the place the fried chicken is damn good, so good i was kicking my stars as to why i didn't order more fried chicken. I will definitely be back to check out their honey wings. I will call in my order next time lol.

Surprised to say the least. Sunny's is located in a run down plaza and seems to be one of the only stores open along with a liquor store and barber shop. Definitely not the most appealing place but the food is good. Had 10 wings for take out and the portion was huge. Wings were crispy and juicy as well. Service was extremely friendly. Obviously it's good for what it is, don't expect a sit down - top notch experience. Come for friendly service, cheap but good food and then get the hell out!

I had not eaten from here in some time. Let me tell you yesterday did not disappoint. The chicken cheese steak was delicious. I didn't care to much for the onion rings. The collard greens were nice and tender but, not seasoned. I didn't even care about anything else because the sub just did it for me. I can't wait to get back to get another sub.
