*Ive updated my review. This place is absolutely amazing. 5STARS This is my "First Impression" review. The highest I give these reviews are a three because it's my first time and I have not yet been there at least 3x. Let's get into it! I was in need of homemade breakfast food that would be available before 8am. I typed "early breakfast food" into google maps and they were the first to appear! The lady who took my order over the phone was extremely nice, the diner sits on the corner, perfect spot and convenient parking on the side in case you're looking to get in and out like me. The inside was cute, dainty and welcoming, the ladies greeted me. I ordered French Toast, Grits & Eggs. Although th French toast wasn't the thick slices EVERYTHING was tasty and the scrambled eggs were real (not from box). I absolutely loved my first experience and I will be back.

First time here. 18% tip added for eat ins. NO DECAFF COFFEE !!! They don't offer it. Plastic knife & fork. Looks like they do a lot of take out. In on a Wednesday at 10:45 for breakfast. Not busy. Sat at counter. ORDERED : Scrambled eggs, sausage patties, home fries & toast. $9.99 + tax + 18% = $12.61 Toast was just warm bread. Everything else was good. Good price for the area. Will probably go back.

It’s been so long since I have been here and it was an amazing experience to be back. I love the quality of service and family atmosphere that it serves. Can’t wait until the next meal!

Amazing atmosphere and staff! They were very friendly and welcoming. A lot of different menus items to choose from. Breakfast, brunch and lunch!

This is a cozy neighborhood diner style restaurant frequented by the locals, and those consumers who visit the convenience store, and laundramat in the small strip mall. It is small but they have a steady flow of clients and take out delivery. On this day two cooks were partially visible as they pushed out orders with ease. Within minutes from sitting a waitress had taken my order and my coffee was served. A short time later my order was presented to me. The order was correct, and the food was hot, tasty, and generous. The price was definitely lower for comparable breakfast food than in other area restaurants. It's worth another trip to try a non- breakfast item.

Dropped here twice in the last week. Ordered to-go drinks! Pretty good both time but a bit pricey🤑. However we are talking South Beach! I can’t say I won’t go back but whewwwww… have your “pocket book” ready to pay 🤣🤣🤣🤣 to carry these to-go’s to-go! Matthew was awesome on my first visit!!! Awesome!!!! Last visit, the girl, not so much!

Delicious breakfast. I was searching for a place to go for breakfast and this popped up on the google map and I’m super happy it did. Friendly hard working staff. Work fast and well organized. My family and I that went were very happy and full! Nice size portions as well. I recommend to others.

Great food! Horrible customer service. One of the workers tried arguing with me because I asked about the price I was charged. And beware if you sit in, it is an automatic 15% service charge and if you take your food to go, that is also going to receive a charge. The food is good but the service is not worth it. I’ll gladly take my money to ihop.

If you're looking for good home style breakfast,this is the spot.No frill,nothing fancy but the food and service was excellent.Everything came out the kitchen quickly and freshly made. The location is in the "hood" next to a corner store and laundry mat so expect someone to ask you for change before or after you leave this spot.I felt safe enough. The inside is a small space.I'd say large parties wouldn't be accommodated because of this. I would definitely visit again.Everything was great.Again,don't come here looking for avocado toast and caviar.This ain't the place for that.

During my last and only visit to Sunnyside Cafe, I found the experience to be average overall, warranting a 2-star rating. The food offered lacked any flavor to elevate it beyond mediocrity. Similarly, the service received was neither exceptional nor disappointing, falling squarely in the realm of average. While the staff was courteous and efficient, there was nothing remarkable about their assistance that would warrant praise or criticism. The ambiance is a small cafe with tables. Most of their orders are pickup. Their waffles are not homemade but frozen and their pancakes are made from a box (hungry jack). They have a small bar area with a tv that plays sports games. The cafe also doesn't have ice, so the drinks come straight from the fridge. In summary, my experience at Sunnyside Cafe was characterized by average food and service, resulting in a middling rating. While there were no major issues, there were also no standout qualities that would prompt a higher evaluation. For those seeking a straightforward dining experience without frills or surprises, Sunnyside Cafe may suffice, but it may not leave a lasting impression.

Everything came out hot, fresh, and fast. You can tell they care about flavor and presentation. Definitely my new go-to morning spot.

Removed a homeless man, so we could sit at a table to dine-in. Restaurant is NOT fancy. Probably getting to go is a better option. Food was as ordered. Syrup on table was extremely sticky and yucky. Plastic silverware. Bottled beverages. No restroom. Gratuity included for dine-in.

Food was great, service friendly and diner style approach no fuss but what can I get you and the ambiance is along same lines. Was reasonable price wise but compared to pre COVID everything is off kilter. I forgot to take photos but plenty sized platters and colorful enough to make me want to come back.

I still get the same thing every time I visit and I'm not ashamed to say it! They are one of the few places that chops their sausage in with the sausage egg and cheese sandwiches. The breakfast potatoes still aren't that great though. Plus, the service is a bit wonky.

I ordered the Croque Madame and a green smoothie that I can't remember the name of- both were delicious. When going in to order the waiter was very attentive, quick and professional. The space was soo cute! I loved the area and that barbie & ken photo is amazing.

Local gem in City of North Miami. A small little place on the corner of the plaza. Been here since I was a kid with the same owner. The owner's daughter is there now and runs a tight ship. Solid breakfast spot, quick food preparation, no muss, no fuss. Love that it's still here with how much the city is changing.

Good breakfast spot for locals. Food is good and prices are great! Everything is made to order, so the wait time is normally between 15-20 mins.

Tiny little place but loaded with great food. VERY clean! Wonderful service with a smile. We found a gem. Highly recommended.

Not in the best of areas, ordered 2 breakfast special that says $9.99 they charged me $11.99 ea then $7 tax food was bland at best. The lady behind the counter got defensive when I questioned the price. I will never go back

Made to order simple breakfast done nice. Waitress are real laid back but quick and friendly. Corned beef hash was everything. It's more likely something out of a can but it just tasted out of this world. Same thing with the eggs. Easily some of the best I've had in South Florida. All (most) meals are under $10 and although it has seating inside most seemed to call in orders and pick up. The scariest thing about this place is parking and just getting to the location. Traffic around it can be extremely busy so take the food and run.

My wife and I had a simple breakfast here at the Sunnyside Cafe. I enjoyed pancakes (I saw Aunt Jemima boxes on shelf in kitchen) with sausage, eggs and fried diced potatoes. This was just what we needed at a very reasonable price. It's not a homemade prepared place but if you just don't want to cook and reasonable price come here and have a good breakfast.

Went to this restaurant for breakfast with family. My nephew had been telling me about this place for a while and we decided to stop in. I ordered sausage, corn beef hash, eggs and hash browns... other in my party ordered pancakes, waffles, and a breakfast sandwich which was white toast with eggs and sausage. We all tasted each other's food and everything was great. The 4 stars is because its tight in there, but the customer service is great. We will definitely go back.

Love sunny side cafe, food is always hot and ready in 15 minutes. My fav is the corn beef hash breakfast. And there prices are great ! Highly recommend

3.5 stars but rounding up because it's an obvious neighborhood favorite with regulars coming in often. Small w limited seating but food was fine - def mom and pop restaurant. Love these sorts of places when traveling rather than hitting chains. Blue collar so don't go if you want to be impressed by decor and polish.

Just moved down here and don't have much food or pots and pans so I needed breakfast for me and my girlfriend. Saw this place and decided to try it out. Loved it. Such a mom and pop spot and home cooked styled food. Will definitely be a regular here on those days when I don't feel like cooking breakfast.

Great for reasonably priced breakfast. French toast, eggs and smoked sausage were delish. The smoked sausage had some zing to it but I like it that way. The location was a little sketchy, and some of the other patrons a little shady but hey...aren't we all?

I order from here at least 2 to 3 times a month. There quite a few choices for breakfast. My favorite item is their large fluffy pancakes.

I get excited when i find recommendable "hole in the wall" places- well Miamians - this is the best breakfast place - it is NOT FANCY BUT the food is fresh, fast and they have a regular crowd that has been coming for 20 years! Now how many places in "fickle" Dade can you say that?

Came in from Orlando this morning and took my fiancé (his 1st time) and met up with a friend. The food was delicious, per usual!! Literally the best scrambled eggs EVER! From the outside you would never know all the flavorful goodness that comes from here. It's in a dirty plaza in not the best area of North Miami. There is nothing attractive about the outside of this mom and pop style restaurant, but foodies like myself knows better than to turn away. It's something like, the food is so good, they don't need any special attraction!! Oh! It's pretty much a breakfast/early lunch type of place so they close around 2/3pm. If you haven't tried Sunnyside Cafe yet, trust me you're missing out!!

Good place to go when looking for breakfast or brunch. I recommend the breakfast sandwich which Comes with bread of choice , eggs , cheese , and smoked sausage.

I loveee their breakfast & cuban coffee! But they are in dire need of staff. Dont get me wrong the staff that is there, they are amazing & they are super sweet & patient especially with the rude customers that come through. They are just older people who cant move as fast. When i go i make sure its two hours before i have to do anything because the wait is so long.

Honestly at first I was in love with the little shop that serves breakfast!!! But first thing I see after they bought out the food was a roach, the server had an attitude towards everyone. Look the food was okay.. but other than that. I wouldn't take the time to go.

Prices are different I took 2 breakfast special three bigs with chees. The comes with three pancakes , eggs and bacon a pay 28 dollars I think for the prices dannys is way better Super expensive Nothing special

This place is very small, they do not season their grits so do not expect any flavor. If you ask for cheese you will receive single slice cheese. Their hash browns and cafe con leche are amazing. It's not some where I'd visit often but somewhere I'd eat at if I had no choice.

I had a little time to burn before a final exam at FIU so a stopped in at Sunnyside Cafe. This place is a little mom and pop looking dinner. Old and I had some chicken strips, fries and a coke to go (you know, bc i'm going to the gym later). Not much you can do here as far as quality and taste goes. To be quite honest they were tasty -but that may just be intrinsic to all deep fried food. If I was in a pinch with some time to burn like today, I would be coming back.

Give this place a 3 .. love Mom and Pop shops good breakfast and waitresses but when ordering waffles I would hope to have real waffles not eggos that I can buy 2 for $5 at Winn Dixie .... Would give higher rating if they invested in a waffle iron from Navarro at least

They charged me $8 for an egg white, ham & cheese breakfast sandwich. They charge less for a lunch sandwich which comes with fries at least. I could have had a breakfast sandwich at the RITZ CARLTON for what they charged me....I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN@!@!@!

I love this place. Never had a problem & the food is always on point. Definitely a returning customer. It's affordable and the food is good. Plus great Coffee!

Extremely hot or miss. Gone multiple times. It can be great and quick, or you sit there for thirty minutes waiting to get corn beef instead of sausage on your sandwich

This was the best no frills breakfast I've ever had in Miami. Serena Williams ate here. Had the breakfast special with sunnyside eggs, sausage and home fries and it was bomb. Will come here again. Yum.

Terrible customer service. Never received my toast when I told the waitress she was extremely rude about it and rushed us out. Seasoning in home fries isn't good. Food is pretty pricey for the amount of food received. I also didn't like how we were able to hear the same waitress yelling at her staff in the back. I'll never recommend this cafe to anyone.

Great breakfast, the gentlemen that was there today was very nice and helpful. Today was my second time there , I hope to go there more often. The place was cleaned and well organized.

Food is really good but head cashier has really bad customer service.... I was charged an extra $1.50 for a 1.5 oz Chef Quality brand syrup and Styrofoam container, which I asked for because I had 6 French toast, fried eggs, and 2 smoked sausages all in one container with one syrup. I will never EVER frequent this diner again. Although the food was delicious... BTW.... There are huge containers of log cabin syrup on every table. She didn't even tell me I was being charged extra for these instead just swiped my card and explained it once I got my receipt and asked for a explanation.

Best place to get breakfast from. Fresh food coolers right in front of you. Plus excellent customer service

Sunnyside is a great place for breakfast/brunch. Every time i visit I have a great experience. The food is always fresh and hot because it's cook to order and the menu has great items at a reasonable price. I would recommend ANYONE to come, I just wish that they were open longer because it's soooo good.

They definitely took their time with our food. Fresh and tasty. The potatoes were amazing. Best brunch I've ever had.

First let me say the food was really good. I ordered one of the many breakfast specials- 2 eggs smoked sausage home fries. You have the option to sub the home fries for grits and it comes with toast. The smoke sausage was really flavorful and the home fries I highly recommend! They were kind of garlicky But not too much. My brother ordered the big 3 with 3 pancake 3 Eggs and 3 pieces of bacon. I tasted his pancakes they were delicious the bacon was just ok. I could tell the eggs were real and not that other stuff. We also ordered cafe con Leche. Ok so food but good service sucks. We walk in and sat at a table. The place did not look too busy because only 2 people were sitting at the bar, there was one waitress (grace I think was her name). We were never greeted at the table so we ended up moving to the Bar. Then the waitress came over and quickly took our order (she never once smiled and was really short when I asked her questions about the menu). I asked how much for cheese she said 75 cents. I thought this was pricey considering there was no other cheese option but american but I'm the type of person that cannot eat eggs without cheese (and there was no substitute for the eggs). I asked for water with lemon she gave me a dirty looking lime stuffed inside my paper cup. (In my experience servers in miami always confused lemon and lime so I won't count that against her but it is a pet peeve of mine.) Food comes quickly. But by this time my water is empty. She does not refill. Probably because she is occupied with the few other guests/ phone orders or because she can't see that my cup is empty because it's a ghetto paper cup. She never asks how the food is or if we need anything else. Finally we ask for the checks and despite her writing it on separate papers she puts everything together. I ask if they can be split. She doesn't reply but comes back and tells me the orders are $9.70 each. I'm puzzled why she would split the checks evenly when my brothers meal was more expensive than mine (4.99 vs 6.99) but I didn't say anything. Afterwards I do the math in my head and realized we were over charged. Or at least I thought. When I asked her why the meals were $2 more than it should have been, she again didn't reply but came back with the itemized chicken scratch she had wrote earlier and a calculator. With a Attitude she repeated back my order and i stopped her when she said the cheese was $1.25 extra reminding her that she had told me it was 75 cents.. She huffed and puffed and said it was more for my brothers because his had 3 eggs. Wtf?! We could buy a whole carton of eggs for that price! So in the end I left annoyed with a bad experience because of her. I will eat here again but take it Togo! She was efficient in getting everyone in and out and I use "everyone" lightly because as I said it wasn't too busy. But she almost seemed like she thought she was anticipating your every need and when you asked her for something she didn't provide she was shocked. I saw her squirt ketchup on this guys fries for him and she bagged our doggy bags which was a nice touch but over all she was kind of a meanie. Management should give her a coaching on being more friendly. I gave it 3 stars for the good food and the place is kinda cute. Looks clean. Except for the limes. But minus 2 stars because my experience wasn't that great because of the waitress.
