"This Fort Lauderdale Haitian bakery has a great selection of pates with fillings like beef, turkey, and cod. All their pates are made with a flakey, buttery crust that has a nice chewiness towards the center. Besides the baked pates, Sunrise also makes fried pate kode with fillings like hotdog and hard-boiled egg in a tomato sauce. They also have a selection of desserts, including almond-flavored frosted yellow cake, ginger-spiked pen patat (yam bread), and one of the best pineapple upside-down cakes we’ve ever had. Wash it all down with a chokola: hot chocolate flavored with sweet spices and citrus peel." - Carlos C Olaechea

This bakery makes some of the best cupcakes I’ve ever had. The flavors are creative, and the frosting is always light and not too sweet. I wish they had more seating available so I could enjoy my treats in-store, but it’s still worth a visit.

I was visiting from out of town and I tried the Haitian Patty at Sunrise. I was highly disappointed. The Haitian patty was very tough and there was no meat in the patty. Literally no meat!!! Sad thing I’m not exaggerating about the no meat. If the dough was at least good I probably wouldn’t be too upset about the no meat. The dough was uncooked and hard. I hope this is not normal practice.

This is my favorite bakery in the area 😋 Patties an korosol so good and very affordable. I have never had any problems with them. God bless you !

Google
I tried it for the first time and the patty I received was burnt on the bottom, way too crispy as if it has been in the warmer for a long time,NOT fresh. The main issue I had was the patty had way too much bread very little filling to decipher what type of meat was inside, so doughy. It didn't taste like the fish patty I ordered, very odd taste. Don't be fooled by the reviews because I most certainly was.

Google
This is one of THE best Haitian bakeries I’ve been too. I will definitely be coming back here for some the best patties I’ve had.

Google
The food and service there is great the fish patties there are my favorite. Also they have some of the best Haitian cake designs you'll find in the area. They only gripe I have is that they don't do deliveries..

Google
This is a walk up Haitian patty place, where there are some other options like soursop juice and other kinds of patties, but the Haitian patties are the main reason to come. By 5, buy 50, you'll regret not buying more.

Google
The best Haitian bakery in Florida. The staff is amazing. I pray they don't ever change.

Yelp
Came across this spot on accident The ambiance is very plain inside and straight to the point lol They make Pattie's order and be on your way. Ordered: 2 Beef patty 2 Chicken patty 2 banana bread 1 passion fruit juice Only spent $12 so very well priced. Beef was by far the best. Flavor and filling was perfect with a kick to it and the pastry was crispy and warm. So inviting The chicken was not as good the pastry was too thick and not cooked enough for my liking. The filling was such a small amount I gave most of it to my dogs bc it was just undercooked pastry. The banana bread is soooooo yummy! Definitely eat it with some milk. It's the kind of banana bread your abuela would make you. Passion fruit juice was flavorful but a bit to sweet for me so I added some water and it was perfect. All in all a good spot would only come back for the beef patty and banana bread if I'm in the room

Yelp
The patties are always on point. This is definitely the go to Broward spot for Haitian patties hands down

Yelp
This Haitian bakery was recommended to me by a friend who lives in Fort Lauderdale as I live in Miami. I drove about 35 minutes to get to this bakery and it was worth it. I ordered Haitian bread, beef, chicken, and fish patties and since it was New Year's eve, it was busy. Nonetheless, they serviced us as fast as they could. The patties were delicious but a little too light for my liking. I will definitely be going back.

Yelp
This is a Haitian Bakery that had quite a line at lunch time. We knew that that was a good sign. They serve Haitian Pates. They had Griot (Pork) ones, Chicken and Beef. They pastry was French-bakery like. Delicious as very affordable. They are easy to take on-the-go and enjoy. We had them at the beach. Yum! Didn't see any other items for sale, but it sure smelled good.

Yelp
In the before time long long ago I was a student at Miami-Dade Community College my college buddy who is Haitian introduced me to Haitian Codfish patties. Being Jamaican I have a long-standing love affair with Jamaican Patties, but only if their made in Jamaica. So for me to veer left and love another is a huge statement. Groups of us used to go to this small Haitian bakery off of 62 st, until one day they abruptly closed. For years I searched the Voodoo corridors of Little Haiti and North Miami only to be disappointed with dry patties, buttery patties, and I even encountered some with so little filling I considered hiring a private investigator to find the codfish. At some point I just gave up looking. ~Fast forward a few years later~ I never thought in my life I would find delicious Haitian patties in the middle of Broward county. I would have never believed that Sunrise Bakery a small unassuming bakery with no signage à la Haitian style had the love I had lost so long ago. Light, flaky, and loaded with codfish, this is is the kind of stuff I live for. Every time I'm in the area, I'll pop in and get a box of those tasty delights. This is definitely the best Haitian Bakery I've found in south Florida in regards to Patty's. Canary-virus~~ - as far as I can see they have normal hours and business practices minus people wearing masks.

Yelp
If you haven't had a Haitian codfish patty you have no idea what you are missing. Unlike Jamaican patties, these are small squares with a light flaky crust. Depending on where you buy them they can cost .75 cents to a dollar. This particular bakery has codfish patties, herring, beef, and chicken. They also sell some odd pastries here and there and a few cake slices, it seems their patties are their main income and that's what they concentrate on.

Yelp
So my mom brought home these Haitian patties and I couldn't stop eating them! The best Haitian patties in south Florida!! Patty is not to flakey and the meat inside is not skimpy it's just enough! We enjoyed theses whole heartedly!

DeMornye J.

Yelp
Best Pattie's in south FL. Every time we fly in, this is the first stop for a quick snack! Flaky and hot every time. Yum.

Yelp
I was so glad to find this Cuban bakery, It was excellent! Exactly what I was looking for! I tried several of their meat pastries and they were delicious! The service was friendly and exceptionally helpful. I would definitely recommend this bakery, if you have never tried meat pastries definitely give them a try. I also tried the mango cheese pastry and it was very good. My husband really enjoyed their steak sandwich! If you live nearby or are nearby, give it a try :-)

Yelp
Sunrise Bakery is a must visit if you want real Haitian patties! I've been coming here since I was a kid, so you know this review was long overdue. Whenever I am in the area, it's a must that I stop by. I always order the fish patty and an AK100. The patties are always fresh, flaky (just how I like em), and have enough meat in them. The AK100 is another favorite of mine because it pairs perfectly with the fish patty. It's a Haitian drink made mostly from cornmeal. It can be served hot or cold; I wanted cold to go along with my hot, freshly baked patties. Also, the friendly staff always makes it an enjoyable visit.

Yelp
Since moving to Fort Lauderdale from Los Angeles I've been wanting to try diff cultures foods and I came across this bakery. I actually ended up coming here two weekends in a row because their fish patties were so good. Very flaky/buttery and filled with flavor. For my first trying at any kind of Hatian food, I'm already impressed.

Yelp
I love their Haitian patties so so much! And the cake! They're always super friendly and this place is very affordable. I have learned to enjoy Haitian patties with good friends and when I come here I order at least 10, always fresh!

Joaquin G.

Yelp
Nice clean friendly place, pastries were flaky and enjoyed by the ofc. Great pricing. The only reason for three stars is that there is no effort to make the place stand out. I definitely Will be back. Update: tasted the croissant, amazing. Added a star. Thank you sunrise bakery

Yelp
AMAZING !!! They have chicken, beef, two kinds of fish, and spinach with cheese patties. I tried the chicken and wow it was seasoned great and had a mild flavor to it. I found this place by getting the bread in one the presidete super markets so i went to go get the bread fresh ! ended up buying patties and there amazing cake along with some fresh bread that smells like butter. HANDS DOWN!! my favorite Haitian bakery very authentic haitian food taste like lakay (Home)!

Freddy S.

Yelp
This place is nasty. The patties are doughy and the bread doesn't taste like real haitian bread. I guess if broward haitian bakery is all you know then you are missing out. I asked the male for the plastic bag for the bread so it doesn't get hard and he gave me a grocery bag I looked at him like WTH. If you want REAL haitian patties and bread you have to go down to ANY bakery in Miami. You haven't had haitian patties, bread, food or anything Haitian until you have had it from Miami. Being a Miami girl living in Broward I have realized the Haitians in Broward are completely different from the Haitians in Miami and the food is ten times better in Miami.

Carm J.

Yelp
Decent Haitian patties. Not a very big place but gets the job done when you have a craving.

Tabitha D.

Yelp
Delicious. Flaky. Filled with the right proportion of meat. I couldn't be more satisfied. I don't live in the Ft. Lauderdale area, but these patties have me thinking I should. 10/10 recommend.

Harlem M.

Yelp
One of the best Haitian Bakery's in Ft. Lauderdale. Every culture has meat patty - but Haitian patties are the best! Bon bagay (good stuff)!

Jessica B.

Yelp
They have fresh great Haitian patties, they always have a lot, just In case you need it for a party This place brings back memories,my dad used to go there whenever we would come from the beach, the bread would still be warm from the oven and we would all just eat a loaf before we even got home, and their patties were always hot and fresh, sad to say that I do not live close to there anymore and nothing compares to these guys, don't come here for excellent customer service, just the food speak for itself!

Franceska M.

Yelp
I have never gone to another haitian backery for patés. That would be cheating! I grew up with this place. One of the best haitian bakeries, if not number 1 !

Badoo G.

Yelp
I used to come here as a little girl and after all these years they still have the amazing patties I remember as a kid. The bread and patties are always hot and fresh. I try to come whenever I'm in the area. It's one of my favorite Haitian bakeries with authentic Haitian flavors.

Harry P.

Yelp
Great place for some good ole Haitian patties, been coming here for some time now and has not missed a beat in traditional flavors.

Shan R.

Yelp
Amazing Haitian patties, bread, everything! Always fresh and hot; it's my favorite place for Haitian pastries. And you have to try the drinks like the always fresh lemonade!

Ronel J.

Yelp
The best Haitian bakery in the town. Very clean and the pastries are tasty. Good Customer service .

Yelp
Given that I've purchased from this bakery before, I asked my friend to purchase 15 dozen patties from this bakery for our church's Christmas Eve program. She called them *at least* three times to confirm that they would have the patties ready on Monday. To her shock, when she got there they only had 7 dozen patties. When she reminded them that she called to confirm the cashier went to the back to confront the baker. The baker acknowledged making 15 dozen patties and yet somehow 8 dozen of them were sold to other people. When my friend pointed out that this was not her fault, the cashier pointed out that it was 5:23, they "close at 5:30," and they've already closed the registers...leaving us stranded with 8 dozen missing patties less than 3 hours before our program. Thank GOD my friend was fast on her feet and ran to another bakery to quickly purchase 8 dozen patties! This place has to have some of the absolute worst customer service I've ever seen! If you're buying one or two patties, go here; but if you're looking for large orders, AVOID. I will definitely be warning everyone I know not to rely on this bakery.

Yelp
I love their pastries, customer service lacks a little and they close too early but I love this place

Mario G.

Yelp
really good patties- there's a line almost always- i prefer to buy frozen patties ans bake them at my leisure for parties etc
