Google
This is a no frills place serving up great tasting food. I got a chicken gyro that was definitely worth coming back for when in the area. The owner is incredibly friendly and told me it’s been in business since 1984! Come support this local business if you’re nearby, he won’t disappoint! Great pricing as well.

Google
It’s definitely a hole in the wall. What you see is what you get. It’s run by one man (very nice and warm) so please be kind and patient - the kufta wrap and falafels are worth it!

Abhi Shek

Google
This place is a solid 3.84 and the interior is decorated in a 'hole in the wall' facade. Located on the south side of Irving St. between 22nd and 23rd Avenue, this is the definition of a no frills joint. Service was quick. We ordered a kufta kebob (lamb/beef) plate, chicken kabob plate and a greek salad with chicken. My wife gave the salad a 3.7, I gave the kufta dish a solid 4 (we saved the last plate for later). All in all a decent meal, felt clean after eating it (food was not greasy). Would recommend, we'll be visiting again in the future. Parking on Irving can be an issue, depending on the time of day.

Google
My experience eating at Sunrise Deli were delightful. The owner is very generous and so easy to communicate with. I visited the deli/diner for the Falafels and i am overwhelmed by the fluffy, flavorful, and textured Falafels. The deli has 6 tables which accommodate up to 4 individuals. I particularly enjoyed the variety of deserts. The deli is a gem on Irving Street especially if you are near Golden Gate Park. I highly recommend a visit.

Google
I’ve ordered it for delivery and gotten take out at the location. I got the basic falafel wrap and a side of pita and hummus. The wrap was excellent, with an ideal ratio of pickled vegetables, hummus, falafel and lavash. The falafel, as other reviewers have already stated, is excellent. I’d go as far to say this is the best falafel I’ve had in the city. I left wishing I could have gotten more; the salads and desserts look awesome too. I can’t wait to have this next time I’m in the neighborhood!

Sarah Ference

Google
Seriously the BEST falafel!! And the chocolate covered havla is delicious. Love this hole in the wall!

anisha arora

Google
It is literally best falafel I’ve had in the US. There’s only one warm elderly gentleman billing and cooking the food so you need to be patient. But the food is worth waiting. Highly recommend! You can’t go wrong. Don’t come here for the service/ atmosphere, come here for the delicious food.

Google
I ordered from their food truck a couple days ago during the Bhangra Night Market event. The person taking my order provided excellent customer service and was patient with me while I ordered. Really delicious food too! The falafel was so good and I loved the hummus as well. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Date: 8/24/2024 Time: 2:35 PM 71° Sunny No, I did not travel to San Francisco to purchase an avocado falafel sandwich, hummus and pita bread. It is quite a way (about 10 miles) from Oakland Chinatown. There are at least four trucks at this event. Jollof is one of the vendors, and Sunrise Deli's is also at the 35th Oakland Chinatown Street Fest. Jollof does not accept cash, but Sunrise does. Okay, I opt for the latter. I want something different. I already have eaten a chicken cage pastry (gai loong) from Big Dish Restaurant. Upon perusing Sunrise's menu board, the description of the avocado falafel sandwich appears delicious. Another thing, I don't remember the last time I had hummus. Gentleman assisting me is friendly and pleasant. No line at this food truck. The food is prepared fresh. Cost is $23. I give him a $5.00 tip for prompt service. I am content and happy Sunrise Deli is here at Street Fest to serve me lunch. My sandwich and hummus are on point.

Yelp
I've been going to the Sunrise Deli location in the Inner Sunset since the 1990s. It's a place I used to visit with family, friends, and anyone I wanted to introduce to what I believed was the best falafel in town. Sadly, I can't say that anymore. After my most recent visit, I will never return. My sister was visiting from out of town, and we decided to stop by for some falafel and Turkish delight (lokum). I'm Turkish and have grown up eating lokum since I was an infant, straight from Turkey. We were excited to see the offerings when we walked in and wanted to buy everything. We saw about 10 pieces of lokum on display and asked to buy all of them. The older gentleman at the counter mentioned he had more in the back and asked how many we wanted. We requested 50 pieces, and when he brought them out, he charged us $50--$1 per piece! He claimed the lokum was from Turkey, justifying the high price, but we felt completely taken advantage of. Lokum has always been sold by weight, and we've never paid anything close to this amount. Ever. Even from Turkey. When we tried to dispute the cost, we were faced with pushback, leaving us frustrated and unheard. Despite this, we decided to order 12 falafel, but our experience went from bad to worse. The falafel was undercooked, and the lokum was stale and hard. If it truly came from Turkey, it must have been sitting around for a long time because authentic Turkish delight is always soft and fresh. This was a heartbreaking experience. What once was a place I cherished has left me feeling disappointed and disrespected. It's especially disheartening to feel as though we may have been treated unfairly due to assumptions about us. Shame on the man for taking advantage of customers and serving subpar food. I can't recommend this place anymore and will not be returning. Ever.

Yelp
Had the lamb shawarma from their food truck during at the sunset night market and it was not so great. The wrap didn't taste fresh and was kind of mealy. The meat had no flavor and was super dry. Seemed like maybe the lamb was missing fat so all you could really taste is the acidity of the pickled vegetables. Service was pretty nice though, adding spicy sauce to the shawarma on request. Not much to say about ambiance as you're ordering from a truck and sitting down to eat.

Yelp
This location has been around for a while now since 1984. The first time I ever ate a falafel it came from here , leave it to Unc to show us the way. This is the flag ship store, It's definitely seen better days. Although the parking maybe difficult I come here for a consistent falafel. A dozen for $10 or $6 for half a dozen. It's definitely not as Prestige as it once size and taste but there's a reason why they been here the longest

holly z.

Yelp
I ordered the Falafel Plate. Falafel was tasty, Humus was delicious (slightly on the runny side) but the cucumber tomato salad had seen better days...it was just too soggy and not crisp or fresh.
google avatar

Yelp
Sunrise Deli offers solid Middle Eastern cuisine in the Sunset neighborhood. I went with the vegetarian combo platter. This came with Tabouli, babaghanouj, hummus, rice & lentils, tomato & cucumber salad, with falafel & dolma, served with pita bread. It was a solid meal. Lots of vegan options on the menu. Recommended if in the area.
google avatar

Denise C.

Yelp
Are you Mediterranean? Now I am because I ate Mediterranean food. So are you a Mediterranean in California? Maybe. So why did they start Yelp.com? Do you think it's normal? I have to eat lunch and I got pita with yogurt cucumber, tomato salad...vinegar-y. I also got baklava one piece and also I tried the dough-y knishy thing. He heated it. He wasn't Mediterranean and I had to wipe yogurt sauce off my shirt. I hadn't gone here before, but it's healthy and old place on Irving I guess.

Yelp
Awful customer service! I ordered lunch from Sunrise Market on Haight but it gave me the website for Sunrise Deli in the Sunset. I ordered $50 worth of lunch and called Sunrise Deli immediately and let them know Google maps had the wrong website. The guy who answered the phone refused to give me a refund even though he said he wouldn't make my order. He told me to call customer service even though I ordered directly from their website. I called again and he said the same thing but refused to give me the "customer service" number. They basically stole my money and didn't have to make my order. I will definitely dispute this charge but what they are doing is illegal.

Yelp
Chicken is juicy. Shawarma was delicious. Fast service to go. Recommend if you need a quick lunch to go! I would come back.
google avatar

Sandy L.

Yelp
Stopped by to grab a quick bite and had it on the go. I wasn't expecting much but was definitely surprised! The lamb schawarma doesn't have as much in it as the typical schawarma you'd find but it was tasty. My friend from Saudi Arabia said this was the most like a schawarma she'd find back home! Value-wise the schawarmas are definitely on the smaller side. Service was quick and no frills.

Dan K.

Yelp
Had the food truck and it was inedible garbage. Some of the ingredients were missing and the stuff that was in there was not anywhere near fresh. If u like slightly health fresh food this place isn't for you
google avatar

Yelp
This food is not good at all. First off, the person who was handling was so rude to me, did not even smile when I said thank you. Second, I came for a shawarma not a burrito. I never went to a Mediterranean place and had a shawarma and it was rolled like a burrito. I thought the food was going to be good but it was not. The meat tasted like it was a couple days old. The man that was working was so rude despite the nasty food. I won't be going here again. Save your money and go get some boba!

Dema D.

Yelp
I recently visited this longstanding establishment, but my experience was profoundly disappointing. Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the filth. The walls were covered in grease, which even dripped down a decorative picture. The restaurant was cluttered with supplies in an unorganized manner. There was no greeting or acknowledgment from the staff. When an employee finally did address me, it was with a nasty attitude and an aggressive tone, making me feel unwelcome. Despite my initial reservations about the state of the restaurant and its lack of patrons on a typically busy day, I decided to stay. Unfortunately, the food did not redeem the experience. The oil used for frying was clearly dirty and old, which was evident in the taste of the falafel. The falafel itself was disgusting, a far cry from what I expected. As an Arab and a Palestinian, I was particularly disheartened. This restaurant is a disservice to our cuisine and culture. It's baffling to me how this place remains in business and doesn't have more negative reviews. I cannot recommend it to anyone seeking quality Middle Eastern food.

Yelp
So so delicious! I ordered the vegetarian combo plate and it comes with falafel, dolma, mujaddara (whattt? yum!! one of my faves) which is a combo of lentils/rice, a cucumber salad, baba ganoush, and hummus with pita. Everything was very fresh and well seasoned. I loved the dolma! The rice inside was chewy and delightful. The falafel was very good! I've had very dry falafel, but I liked that this was moist, well-seasoned, but still crunchy on the outside. This was a fantastic vegetarian meal. I would come here again to try their other options.
google avatar

Sharine d.

Yelp
Lentil soup and lentil rice was excellent/ yummy. Tubuli was ok. But,... The hummus was inedible... Tasted sour.. and physically runny.
google avatar

Cheri L.

Yelp
First time stopping by here thanks to Off the Grid. I must say, these were the best falafels I've had so far! They are crunchy/crispy on the outside and moist/soft on the inside. A lot of other places I have tried are very dry and bland. They have a couple of dessert options such as baklava and halva, all good and great for your sweet tooth. I def wanna come back for more falafels as well as try their items such as wraps and turkish delights. The service was nice and is family run. Be sure to stop by and check them out!

Yelp
I've been on Yelp since 2010 and this is my 1st ever review. I ordered Lamb Shawarma, Chicken Shawarma and a side of Falafel. I don't know what the deal is, but I think this place hates Tahini for some reason. 1 - Lamb Shawarma does not have a hint of a Tahini while the CHICKEN HAS TAHINI in it.. WHAT?!! 2 - I ordered a side of Falafel which should already come with Tahini but it didn't. I even made a request to add Tahini, and I didn't get that either (There's a note that additions may incur a surcharge which is fine.) This is similar to ordering curry and having to order rice separately. What's next? Order each ingredient separately? Tahini debacle aside, unfortunately the food is subpar at best. The falafel is very bland and the chicken bears no resemblance to what shawarma is, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't shawarma.
google avatar

Yelp
There's not that many places in the Sunset to grab some falafels so this restaurant is definitely one of a kind in the neighborhood. 1/2 dozen falafels $6 Dozen falafels $9 Super friendly staff. There was one time when I got there and they only had a few falafels left in the wok (where they were letting it air dry/cool) and they decided to fry up some fresh falafels for me. Has a lot of staples in the display like the cucumber salad, dolma, etc. They used to sell Turkish delight but the last time I came they switched it over to baklava. I suppose more people are familiar with baklava than Turkish delight so it makes sense from a product standpoint. Overall, a great place to get your falafel fix (or shawarma). It's generally pretty quiet in here as I think most people take their orders to go.

Yelp
This review is for their delivery so no comments on service, just the food. We got a vegetarian plate, lamb shawarma, and 6 falafels. Vegetarian plate - flavors were great but falafels, pita, and rice were cold. More on the falafels farther down. Shawarma - when my partner bit into this, he immediately got a nostalgic taste... not in a good way. He couldn't believe how much a lamb/beef shawarma could taste like a McDouble from McDonald's. The beef, lettuce and sauce combination was so similar to a McDonald's experience that he would've believed this was takeout from the Golden Arches if someone told him so. It wasn't objectively bad other than the ingredients tasting low quality, but certainly not worth the $10+ for this wrap. Falafels - these came very cold when we were expecting them to be at least lukewarm. Instead it was as if it had sat in a fridge for 30 minutes. Other than that, the falafels were nice and crispy on the outside and fluffy in the inside. There was a bit too much oil soaked into the crust, but if it was warm and a little less oily it would be a fantastic falafel. What kicked for this review is that about half an hour after eating, my partner suddenly got intense stomach pain. This was his first meal of the day, so it was fairly clear that this food was the culprit. This could be a one off but capped off a pretty disappointing food experience from this restaurant.

Yelp
Went here during covid and got takeout! Amazing service and great falafel. The vegetarian plate and regular falafel both came at a great price and had some crispy and moist falafel balls. The pitas are alright, and the sandwich just felt very healthy overall. Wish they gave tahini on the side or had tahini in the sand which since it felt missing. The babaganoush is fire and so is the lentil and rice side! Would definitely come again if I was looking for something healthy and vegan/veg.
google avatar

Ali M.

Yelp
Wow! So much flavor in every single bite. I ordered an avocado falafel sandwich from here and it was so good. Highly recommend it! I will have to try other things on the menu too and I have no doubt it will be just as good. Definitely give a try if you're in the area!
google avatar

Yelp
Bye bye Sunrise Deli! Our long-term relationship is officially over!! Prices posted should be the prices charged! Increase in price and significant decrease in size and quality is not cool; but a cold blow to loyal longtime customers! Very sad to see such a decline in the shawarmas!
google avatar

James A.

Yelp
I had the vegetarian plate and it was excellent! The falafel was probably the best falafel I've ever had. Everything else was delicious as well and the portion size was generous. My only regret is that I didnt order extra falafel because I just can't stop thinking about it.

Monica B.

Yelp
Went with a friend who remembers it as an amazing falafel and shawarma place in the 90s. It was filthy. The staff were sloppy with the food and it looked like nobody knew food safety. The food was terrible and I bit into a dolma that was fermented in the middle. I can't believe they are still in business.
google avatar

Gina W.

Yelp
This place is on a whole other level, please, be quiet, while I revel in the perfection that is this falafel, it has me under its deep-fried spell. Six falafel, made fresh to order I wish I ordered 100, a falafel hoarder. Hand shaped and dropped in bubbling oil a skilled, expeditious, and calculated toil. I didn't know falafel could be like this, crunchy yet moist and herby, just bliss. This is the best falafel I've ever had, run, don't walk here, you won't be mad.

Michael ..

Yelp
I've been an occasional customer for years. Today I ordered the veggie combo. The hummus was thin and sour and the rice/lentils was not fresh. The worst part were the tasteless COLD falafel. The place looks unkempt and dirty and I could kick myself for eating my meal. Been feeling crappy since. Service was minimal. Will not patronize them ever again.

Yelp
I always walk by Sunrise Deli to the produce store next door. Friday I had time to step into Sunrise Deli again to pickup treats for the weekend: Babaghnouj, dolmas, hummus, pita, and chocolate halva. I regret not picking up olives. I make the salad at home and buy what i have no time to make which is almost everything. Oh the falafel looked yummy as well. Next time. I am not vegetarian but this weekend I wasn't feeling like eating meat. Sunrise Deli had so many options for vegetarians and vegans. This weekend has been about delicious Middle Eastern cuisine. Sunrise Deli has delicious offerings and has been well established in my neighborhood, the Sunset District. They have their own website which is helpful. I really enjoy stepping at lunchtime when I can say hello to neighbors and others who I might run into there. Always a pleasure to chat with everyone who works there including the owner. Sunrise Deli is not fancy but is seriously amazing for there delights and offerings. I am grateful Sunrise Deli lives in the Sunset District.

Yelp
Showed up and had to ask if they were still open ? My son really wanted to try Shawarma and I looked up who served this and saw that they had it on their menu so I thought we will give it a try . The Restaurant was Dirty and smelled of old fry oil I should have just trusted my 6th sense but my son was so excited so I just said quit being bougie and have fun! Ok here come the bad stuff. All of the tables were dirty like haven't cleaned them all week dirty . The food was cold and Unappealing in every way! The cucumber tomato salad was slimy and tasted fermented ‍ I was actually worried we might get sick ! Luckily we did not . Surprised this place can stay in business it is not worth a visit we definitely won't be going back

Yelp
This is the same Sunrise as the OG RIP Berkeley location (https://www.yelp.com/biz/sunrise-deli-berkeley) and the new-school but nevertheless RIP SOMA location (https://www.yelp.com/biz/sunrise-deli-san-francisco). How do I know it's the same? Well, besides the logo, the menu lettering is identical to the Berkeley original, and besides that, that menu board has been on the wall so long that all the falafel grease that has shot up from the fryer over the years (decades?) has slowly dripped down the ceiling and the walls and onto said menu board and even onto some of the "art" on said walls. The congealed grease is quite a spectacle, I tell you. But you don't come here to look at congealed globs of grease on walls, do you? You come for the grub. So let me point you in some directions. Super falafel for the win. The regular falafel is fine too, but the avocado falafel is not worth it, so don't even bother. Pick up a half-dozen dolmas to-go, and you'll be snacking later that night and/or the next night and/or the next next night as well, if you have that much self-control. The parking situation is ridiculously easy if you come on a weeknight. The first three times I came here, I was super paranoid from years (decades?) of Clement Street-parking PTSD, so when I saw an open spot a block-and-a-half away, I made a quick U-turn and snagged it and felt really good about myself--until I saw eighteen other parking spots on my walk to Sunrise, including a bunch right out front. So trust your old pal John S. and drive all the way to the front of Sunrise. If you don't see a parking spot there, be patient and continue west. You'll find one close; I promise. Thank you, Sunrise, for making a bunch of otherwise grody weeknights rather pleasant and delicious.

Yelp
This has been a family favorite for years!!! They make fantastic fresh and savory food. I love their shawarma and kubeh. Everything here is delicious and authentic. So happy they are in my neighborhood. This is always my healthy treat.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Definitely an affordable Mediterranean spot. The falafel is actually very good and $1 a pop! The cook/owner wasn't the friendliest guy, and the deli is very basic and lackluster. I ordered the lamb shawarma sandwich and plate. The sandwich is relatively thin but descent. The plate is just a slop of hummus with meat and toppings. The hummus was a little too sour and watery for my liking. I'm not sure if it was the freshest it could have been. I would have liked the combo plate to have come with rice too instead of just hummus and pita. I would go back for the falafel only.

Samantha L.

Yelp
Another nice find of local small business! Ordered its chicken shawarma and falafel. They were SO good!!! The falafels were the best I ever have, and the chicken shawarma, oh the chicken shawarma -- moist, flavorful, a perfect balance between the crunchy vegetables, juicy chicken, the sauce... All wrapped in a toasted pita... Heaven!!! Definitely will come back again for more!
google avatar

Elaine L.

Yelp
The deli is an institution that needs a lot of tlc. The focus is survival and serving good food. The falafel is the best! Crisp, light, and airy. Delicious.
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
Been going for years, good food. But today went in, said "Hi" to the guy... nothing, just a look. Said "How's it going?". Silence. A glare. I left. Food is only truly good when it's made with love; you can tell. Not going to put the food this guy makes inside of me.

Anita P.

Yelp
I used to love this place. However, after going there today, I was sorely disappointed. My once-upon-a-time favorite falafel sandwich was just not good. The falafels were cold and the veggies were not fresh. The pita was limp and soggy. I ended up throwing the whole sandwich away after four bites because I was afraid that I would get sick from it. The price was surprisingly less than what they used to charge but, honestly, I would have preferred to pay a little more for a better quality sandwich. I hate to say this about a place I used to love but I'm not going back.

Mumin N.

Yelp
If I can read this zero stars I would've. As I walked in, I asked the gentleman who is cooking the food for a menu so I can take with me to show my brother.. he stated oh you work for DoorDash? I said no I'm sorry I'm just trying to purchase food. He said I hope you enjoy your dollar off of DoorDash. At that point I was very confused and didn't want to purchase food anymore due to him being very disrespectful. There's other Mediterranean spots available in the city that is way better than this shit hole.
google avatar

Ruhi S.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing falafel spot just a short walk away from Golden Gate Park. The shop is small with almost no seating but it feels (and tastes) super authentic. Between my group, we had 2 falafel plates (that come with pita & tabouleh & tahini & hummus & salad) and 2 falafel wraps (one with avocado). Both were DELICIOUS. There was a lot of flavor and tang, and the falafels were just the right amount of moist and crispy. The employees were super accommodating in letting us almost "customize"' our order... such as switching out the dolmas for more salad or falafels. Also something worth trying was the chocolate baklava/halva (forgot what it was called) - was a great delight to eat after these large portion, delicious meals.

liz t.

Yelp
This place doesn't fail. Order some catering trays for my kids bday and they were perfect. Everyone loved and I had no leftovers, always a good sign. The best Mediterranean in town!
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
I love this place and I've been coming since my teen years. The prices have gone up a bit of course but the place has not changed at all. I usually get a dozen falafel to go they're fresh and delicious. It's nothing like the Berkeley location on a weekday you can have a peaceful lunch here.
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
As other's have said, the place needs some TLC and looks somewhat sad and unwelcoming. I tried the falafel twice and it says that hummus is included, and it ain't! I've seen other people eating such and there's never hummus. It leaves the sandwich so dry and lacking so while the ingredients are fresh, it's just not a great meal. Too bad.
google avatar

Kyle H.

Yelp
Got the large chicken shawarma, [$15] large beef shawarma, [$15] and falafel plate. [$13] The taste was great from all 3 dishes; The portions however for a large size, was incredibly small. It was mostly all hummus, and very little meats. The falafel plate with the veggies seemed decent. For some reason, there was more chicken in the chicken dish, than the beef in the beef dish. I literally scooped 3 tablespoon scoops from the beef and chicken dish, and the togo container was half gone. Looked like only one layer in each dish. Wished there was a little more for the dishes, because the large size seemed like the small size.

Bilind H.

Yelp
I have ate here two times now. The meat pies (lahmajun) are ok, but they did not taste fresh. The shawarma is ok as well although they soak it in samac which is not necessary in my opinion. My biggest negative of this place is the service. Very unwelcoming and unfriendly. Also the place itself did not appear tidy and the smell was unpleasant as well.

Yelp
You'd think it would be easier to find a decent gyro in a place like San Francisco. Nope! I won't name names but I've had some pretty terrible ones in this city. As we are all dealing with covid19 and being stuck in quarantine, I think it's safe to say a lot of us are growing tired of our own cooking. I saw sunrise deli as I was driving to my last gyro and sadly regretted not trying this place as the last one was bad. I went here today to place an order and I am so glad I did! The service was great and the food was equally as good. I ordered the lamb/beef gyro and the meat was juicy, tender, and well seasoned. What made it even better was the pickled cabbage and homemade tzatziki sauce. Highly highly recommend! Full of flavor in every bite. Couldn't order a gyro without a piece of baklava too! I chose the pistachio one, you really can't go wrong with honey and phyllo dough! I am already looking forward to my next trip here. Alas, my search for an amazing gyro is over. Support small businesses during this trying time and have a little compassion if something isn't 100% correct (this goes for any establishment you visit). Enjoy!

Yelp
These falafels are a crowd favorite! Each and every time I order them for a party, they're gone by the end of the night. I highly recommend ordering several dozens of falafel and create a Mediterranean spread. It's pretty easy. Just buy the cucumber yogurt salad, pita bread, hummus, tzaziki sauce and you've got yourself a partayyyy! You can call it in and they'll have it ready for pick-up. They've always been reliable and definitely a local business that I support!

Yelp
Amazing food! Literally my favorite falafel (and I've tried a lot). I loved frequenting their downtown location before quarantine (Meal Pal anyone?) But this location is closer to home. And I've been craving them for literal months. Get that falafel. Get that babaganoush, dolma, schwarma. Their sweets' case is divine. I have tried and failed to find better baklava in San Francisco. The owner is such a friendly guy! Always a smile for me, even if I myself was admittedly not in the best mood. I love them so much! Drop by, grab some lunch or dinner, and be happy you made the best decision :) Hope you guys stay around forever and look forward to coming by more after quarantine.

Yelp
On a cold day, falafel and bread were served cold, and with a grumpy attitude. Hummus was runny, sour, inedible and starting to go rancid. As Arabs, we've been fans of their epic falafel and enjoyed their fresh delicious food truck service. The neglected, decrepit restaurant is a relic of better times. We hope they can find the love their food used to be made with. But until then, stick to take out of only the falafel. Insist they fry them up fresh or you'll get the cold old ones.

Yelp
Too close not to visit. Had to try their lamb shawarma and tried i did. It was too salty and vinegary. Lots of meat. Hand held size. So much pink juice coming out. The wonderful thing was their fresh falafel, eat it right then and there, crunchy outside and lots of filling. I got 3 of them and woofed it down quick while waiting for the wrap. Eat in or out but side walk is so busy sandwiched between two fruit stands and the busy Irving street. I had to eat this the second day so it was very soggy (my fault).

Yelp
The falafels are great, but the rest of what we tried wasn't very good. However, I did just come back from a trip to Israel, and it's really hard to find comparable hummus and schwarma here. My friends and I came around noon on a Sunday, and it was busy with a lot of people coming in and out. It took them about 10 minutes to make our order, and we tried: -Lamb Schwarma on a Plate w/Hummus (Large /$12): The schwarma was too salty, and I didn't like the spices. The hummus was also disappointing, and wasn't very smooth. I wouldn't get this again. -Avocado Falafel (Falafel w/Avocado, Hummus, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickled Cabbage, Served in a Pita Pocket, $7.50, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=_w84QAnwHJdM2nXVGIGEXg&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): The falafel was really good, and I loved the crispy exterior and fluffy interior. However, the rest of the pita was really uninspiring- the pita was not warm and fluffy, and the rest of the ingredients were just there, and didn't add anything flavor wise. Skip the pita pocket and just order the falafel separately. The people working here were really nice and friendly, so I feel bad giving a low rating, but I wouldn't return based on my experience here. However, their falafel is good, so I'd definitely recommend coming here if you like falafel! Parking in this area is always tough, especially during the busy weekends, but street parking is available.

Yelp
We were surprised with this truck serving free lunch for us compliments of our building property owner. The food was made fresh to order and the staff in the truck were super sweet!! They had a lot of us out there and were friendly and kind to every single person. The falafel wrap was delicious, fluffy bread and not at all greasy. The condiments were just enough to compliment but not overpower the falafel. What a nice treat!
